IT guy claims to have OTA Nougat on test device - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Dis

That's a gif of him showing Nougat and the official Verizon Update G935VVRU4BQA2
I'm hoping this is legit as I am on Verizon lol.
EDIT: Forgot to put Verizon in the title god darnit. Sorry new to this site, posting this here cause I figured people would want to know.
EDIT 2: Now that I have more posts I can make it an actual link horray!! But ya, not like it matters, here we are March 6th with no Nougat from Verizon. A few people have said they heard March 20th as the release date so...we can only hope.

I watched it and I can't confirm nor deny if this is true. If i could pause the damn GIF it may be more helpful
EDIT: So I downloaded the GIF and watched it on my media player. I was able to pause it at the System Updates part. Seems legit

Maybe somebody could figure out how to leak it like they did the AT&T version. I'm running it on a spare S7e. It sure is pretty. Reminds me of my Note 7, may it rest in peace.

Hmm update pretty soon I smell ?

Give it another month. :good:

I dont want to wait another month. Samsung took my note 7, told me to get a s7e and it would be updated to be nearlt as good within a month or so. Horse hockey. We are way over due for a promise they made to consumers they screwed over.
And enough of this carrier approval crap. Push the dam update out and own up to any problems that arise.

I've still got my Note 7 - it was hotlined once, I got VZ to take the hotline off. Went several days into February and no hotline, but I found a mint S7E for a great price so I bought it and put my N7 sim in the S7E. Been using that for a week now. My N7 is still the superior device for several reasons. Screen size, better curves (steeper) on the edge display, better display overall (brighter, whiter) and the S7E display also has more "curve" over the whole thing while the N7 is flat. Obviously 64GB internal on the N7 is superior. The AOD on the S7E sucks - it really, really needs the N7 AOD with 3rd party notifications. And finally Grace UI is nicer. I use Nova launcher prime, but the Grace settings and quick settings is still nicer. And lastly, the battery life on the S7E is worse. I have no idea why - it has a smaller display and bigger battery. All that being said - once the S7E gets Nougat it will help. But that'll be pretty close to when the S8+ will be out, and I will likely be getting that anyway. I really hope Nougat for the VZ S7E is out soon. Like tomorrow. The pics the OP linked look legit, so let's hope VZ gets us Nougat before March. I wouldn't count on it though.

Regardless, Verizon's update probably won't be out till April anyway.

T Mobile and ATT are out. Come one verizon, don't always be last!

I think its ironic an "unlocked" model takes longer to receive updates directly form the MFG. This make no sense at all.

Sprint also released the Nougat firmware today! Verizon will now officially be the last.

I usually don't care too much for OS updates - they are almost always over rated. However since Grace UI and the improved AOD come with this Nougat update, it is one OS updated that is very much needed. Verizon is literally always the last carrier to roll out OTA's. It simply shows they DGAF about their customers. And that they want to bake in more bloatware than other carriers. Both are selfish reasons on Verizon's part for rolling out OTA's far slower than other carriers.

I agree, if I didn't get a discount through my work and also have good reception in most places including my home, I would have ditched Verizon. I was considering using Ting but after I added up a 3 device plan with the amount of texting that my wife does it ends up being within $10. Even project Fi was about the same difference.

someone should tweet Verizon with this update code that the guy gave in the gif and pretend they have Nougat on a test device and say you will release the rom if they don't release it world wide soon or at least give an eta lol.

This has to be fake. Verizon customer service just told me that we weren't getting the update at all andI could consider the Pixel XL, lol. Hopefully they were misinformed

Why not just consider another provider? I know I'm leaving as soon as I get rid of this phone and tablet I've got thru them.

I know exactly when they will release it. The day before I can get my hands on an S8. Same thing every year.

I find it good that Nexus one is running it, then I might be able to get a port for my HTC deisre
Great finding, thanks!
and this quy arrived a few days ago as well

All the screenshots so far have the notification bar cropped out, Google must be cooking up something so big with the notification bar that even the leakers can't bare to reveal yet.
One bad thing though, if the rumours is right then Google will release a new phone around Christmas. I guess this will be with more powerful hardware which will be able to run honeycomb or something.
So then requirments might increase siginficantly to 3.0, which means i need a new phone soon
Well our Nexus's are ready now for Ginger & co.

It's not a rumor, Nexus Two (or whatever they call it) it's going to be announced probably
in November 8th. Manufactured by Samsung. It's the same phone as the Galaxy S
but a little thinner and with a curved back.
Eric Schmidt: "Initially, Google felt that they needed to build a device to help Android along so they worked with HTC to create the Nexus One handset. Schmidt says: “The idea a year and a half ago was to do the Nexus One to try to move the phone platform hardware business forward. It clearly did. It was so successful, we didn't have to do a second one. We would view that as positive but people criticised us heavily for that. I called up the board and said: 'Ok, it worked. Congratulations - we're stopping'. We like that flexibility, we think that flexibility is characteristic of nimbleness at our scale."

Bollocks! I knew I should've waited!! I loved my Nexus One until it was stolen. I loved the fact that everything came there first, as far as updates etc. It was so obviously Google's own phone. I didn't like that I had to use Dialer-One and Launcher Pro though (not crazy about stock Android dialler).
I love my Galaxy S's hardware, but I'm not loving this RFS stuff. How can I recommend a phone to people if they're going to have to lagfix it.. How do I know some OTA update isn't going to break it a year down the line and then they all start phoning me ?!
A Galaxy-S Nexus would be cool I reckon ..

Samsung's 30 day Test Drive

Last week Samsung offered IPhone users the chance to sign up and use the Note 5 and S6E+ for 30 days for $1. I signed up for the Note 5. I'm interested to know if anyone else here signed up for the promotion, and if so have you received any shipping info. I'm waiting on an email with the shipping info.

I was thinking the same thing. It would have been better if they promoted this at their keynote for the phones. It would have given more people the opportunity to think of switching. That two day shipping was jacked up. I was crazy excited then it turned into the waiting game. Now that I know it's coming I'm back excited.

I just read on xda they achieved it on the T-Mobile version. So I'm hopefull it will be achieved. These devs are really impressive.

Oh so Different carriers lock them. What can you do with root access?
Early on you could use it to turn your phone into a hotspot without shelling out the extra $20 a month. Right now they already have a fix for that to where you don't have to root in order to take advantage of that. My first thing I always do is to see if I can install this sound mod from this dev Viper. You can truly take control of the equalizer and make your headphones really good.

Ooo. Surprised they don't allow root access. What about changing the UI. Keep hearing that touch wiz is bad.
It use to be terrible. They really cleaned it up every year. To where now it is a pretty decent launcher. I personally prefer Nova Launcher. Especially now that some launchers almost theme the entire system and not just the icons and home screen. With rooting some devs will make custom roms with some pretty awesome features, over locking even run stock android if you want.

How funny. I was in Best Buy on Saturday and visited the Samsung Kiosk. I had issues with my multi-window randomly popping up without pressing it. Anyways, I took it in and got them to reflash the device. Didn't notice till now but I got the update on that day, which solved my problems that I have been having since I got the device.

So you don't want to update to a better performing phone, in hopes of rooting to get a better performing phone minus features. You may miss out and continue waiting until the s8. Just saying you should just try enjoying the phone.

I can confirm after almost a full 2nd day of use that this update does wonders for standby. My phone came off charger this morning at 8 AM, its not 4 PM and I am at 87% battery remaining. SOT only 23 minutes, some voice calls, some emails. But standby is outstanding and noticeably improved since the PC8 update.

ATT has released Oreo 20a to the LG V20

On June 19th, 2018, Oreo will flood our phones, with much glee and satisfaction, we will become ensued with flashing, not only our phones, but each other.
In our dreams.....
However, we are still currently waiting for the much coveted and overdue update to grace our beloved v20s. We have been waiting patiently, but inevitably, our patience will run out, as we will defect to other manufacturers for our digital and cellular needs.
Oreo is more of a state of mind, as we can also eat oreos to fulfill our need for it. Once we receive the Oreo, not only will our device info will read "O", so will our mouths as we shove even more celebratory oreos in them.
Join me, my brothers and sisters, for the long wait.

Honestly I don't see this happening. The only confirmed lg 'v' phone I've seen getting oreo is the v30 models. Obviously it'd be nice, but lg are always full of false hope. I've recently got my hands on a Huawei P20 pro so this device is now just my test device along with my v10.
The H918 will definitely get it, the status is on T-Mobile's site.

Join me, my brothers and sisters, for the long wait.
P.S. HaHa

Hi Hawkeye,
I saw your post about Oreo on the V20. Have you upgraded yet? I've been on stock since I rooted awhile back. Is there a link or location where you located the Oreo Update image? The phone was a pain to root compared to all of my other devices, but I love this phone, which made it worth it.

This was a joke post (the second half of the OP is the signal, plus it was clearly pointed out a few posts later). Oreo is only out for the H915, F800 and LS997 at this time.

As I understand it for volte to work on a tmobile phone you have to be using a tmobile rom and on their service

For VoLTE and WiFi calling to work, you need the ril for the carrier you are on.
So, if you are using an H918 on Verizon, flash the system .. and ONLY system from the VS995. If you are using it on AT&T, flash the H910 system. For Sprint, flash the LS997 system.
If you are using it on some overseas carrier, you can try the H990 system.
Whatever you do, do NOT flash anything else from another model.

Night mode is here for Snapdragon

T-Mobile released CSGB (early this morning... got mine around 1am through manual checking) but it doesn't have night mode for the camera.
So hopefully soon (preferably with August's security patch) they will release it.
CSGF also has new wireless charging animation

That sucks hopefully you won't have to wait much longer. The feature isn't really as impressive as i thought it would be. But there is just something about getting new stuff lol

Actually i retract my statement. For whatever reason the first couple of pictures i took didn't work well perhaps the conditions weren't right. I just took some that worked AWESOME though.

Well, had my S9+ for about a week and am not impressed by this phone at all beside it being an Android. For me, Android auto has been a nightmare. Updating to the latest patch and hopefully it fixes some things with Samsung. I use my XS Max more than my S9+ which is a shame, but more reliable in a Carplay sense. Hopefully there are more fixes than just a camera update. Looking forward to this update

The night mode in the camera seems to work pretty well. No complaints here. It took a pretty nice dark picture and brightened it up nicely. Nice update so far. Looking forward to what else is new
Is that the update they dubbed "System Update 14"? I clicked learn more and they only have info for up to 13's.
I just randomly checked about a half hour ago and boom there it was.. But I can't find ANY info ANYWHERE about it. Also on VZW S9+

Yeah I tried searching during the download and couldn't find anything. Night mode is nice and it's now bootloader 6. That's the only things I found so far

G965USQU6CSGF. Bootloader 6. Night mode was referred to in camera
I've got an factory unlocked SM-G965U1 which I currently use on T-Mobile. If I find a buddy on Verizon and pop in his SIM, might that mean that I'd get offered the Verizon version of the update, which would include night mode?
I know that method works for getting monthly security updates.
Or is this special feature update ONLY for people on the Verizon-modified rom?

To answer my own question in case anyone else comes across this in a search, I borrowed a friend's Verizon SIM card, popped it into my Snapdragon/factory-unlocked S9+, and was offered 3 consecutive updates to jump me from a patch level of January 1 (where I started yesterday), then to May/June, then to July 1, then finally to Aug 1 - which is pretty awesome, because the Aug patch was literally just released yesterday.
So, I'm definitely blaming T-Mo for this, because with this Verizon sim, I literally got a day-old Samsung-released update.
However, I didn't get Night Mode. Just the security updates (and the new charging animation). Oh well.

AT&T finally included night mode with the latest update earlier this month and I really didn't notice much to write home about either...
Until I took this picture last night using night mode (it was pretty dark outside like 10 minutes before the sun set)
