[Completed] rooting issues - XDA Assist

I have rooted and unlocked my bootloader in asus zenfone 2 laser Z00ld and tried to install a custom rom. But the rom didnt install so i had to install official stock lollipop 5.0.2 rom.
Now i am having problem with this rom. Hangs a lot. Battery drains too fast. Sometimes the front speaker gets activated while playing music.
So now I want to revert back to the factory rom that i got at first.
1. Is it possible to get back to the official rom????
2. is it possible to get the official software updates from company after relocking the bootloader and unrooting the fone???
I am not a noob. But i am just scared of doing the unrooting process as already i hardbricked an yureka plus which was just 2 days old.
So anyone please help me with the solutions.. :crying::crying:

Greetings and welcome to assist. I'm not sure where you would get the original rom from but yes you should be able to return to it and once you are unrooted you should be able to take ota's
Good luck

[Q] Will a brand new Z3 be still rootable ?

Hi,
im looking at buying a Z3 at the weekend but the main thing is will it be still rootable? Im not sure what firmware it will come with
Are all versions still able to achieve root?
If so could someone link me to the best root method, much appreciated
I've bought a Z3 3 weeks ago and it rooted just fine. You do need to flash an older firmware

5.0.2 isn't rootable, at least not directly.
As long as we have root method for at least one fw available for device we can root all new firmwares.
So...it's not a problem to root Z3, no matter which fw was on it.
All you need is to downgrade to 4.4.4 (version that could be rooted), root it, install recovery and then upgrade by flashing prerooted ROM.
Z3 will retain root possibility as long as its alive...
Of course, all of that applies for locked bootloader.
If you want to unlock bootloader, you could root device by flashing kernel via fastboot...

thanks for the help, phone is coming tomorrow so it will be the first thing i do.
Coming from a nexus 5 so should be quite an improvement, especially battery life.
Another Question
is app2sd built into the firmware? or do you need a third party app which requires root?
things i need installed on SD card:
all games / apps including titanium backup PRO
can it be done?
If you get a new T-mobile Z3, you will not be able to root or unlock the bootloader.

[Q] About Moto g 4g Root

Hi friends, i have a moto g 4g xt1040, android 4.4 KitKat. I have some questions about root:
About unlock bootloader... its very risky? on the website of Motorola warn of extreme risks.
1. If i install a custom rom, I will not have problems returning to Stock Rom? (using cmd commands like any tutorial)
2. If my device is rooted, and I get notification to upgrade to android lollipop, I can install it correctly without problems?
3. if my phone has lollipop, and i rooting, I can do a downgrade?
SORRY for my very bad english I had help from google translate :silly:
Thanks and best regards. :good:
Hi!
You can unlock your bootloader without problems.
I didn't have problems to return to a ROM stock.
You can update to Lollipop if you are under ROM stock, or you can install CM!
I don't know about the downgrade but I think it is possible.

[Completed] OTA Updates after Root

Hi Guys,
i have some questions concerning rooting. I have a stock Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F) with T-Mobile branding. I would like to install a Custom ROM because my battery life is so bad but i love this phone (for example because of its water resistance and the fact that my hobby is diving ).
So my plan is:
1. root my device and install a custom Nougat ROM (to change the screen resolution)
2. when the official update is out i want to go back to stock Firmware
3. now my question: Is it possible to receive OTA Updates after getting back to stock firmware?
I know know is set to 0x1 after a root and im going to lose my varranty but thats no problem, i would only like to receive OTA Updates after going back to stock firmware.
Thank you for your help!
Greetings from Munich and have a great new Year 2017
Hi!
As long as your device is stock, recovery included, you should receive the ota no problem. So flashing stock firmware and recovery should do the trick. :good:
Don't accept an ota if you do happen to get an update notification, if you are not completely stock. It will fail.
Last resort too, is flashing an updated version manually. If that's possible for your device.
Good luck!
I posted i thought but don't see it i rooted an LG ls675 with king root removed a couple preinstalled apps sprint zone and 2 amazon apps I mistakenly tried ota failed found out this unrooted my phone and tried another ota that failed also running stock installed a root browser titanium bu busy box ect do i need to remove these apps or will i have to do factory reset to get this update running 5.1.1

Hello first i assume you already unlocked the bootloader so your warranty is already voided then you're already acquired root. If you downgraded to marshmallow via flashing the marshmallow firmware again through the flashtool app on the computer you have to start all over again rooting your device, but if you managed to generate a twrp backup prior running in marshmallow firmware then it's simple as restoring your backup through the twrp recovery interface.

Just find a MM ftf file on XDA or xperiafirm and use flashtool to flash it. No need to unlock bootloader (so it will not void your warrenty) and root is not needed to do it.
