After seeing the initial dev scene over here for 6X. Yes, it can be worth. I don't hold any 6X now.
Hoping to get it by the start of next month.

It doesn't happen like Honor 5X.
For Honor 4X, we got 2 incremental updates Kitkat -> Lollipop -> MM
So we can expect the same for Honor 6X too.
And with our Lineage Devs over here, we can expect further more updates.

Yeah! Considering the specs of the hardware used in the Honor 6X for the price. You get less from other brands like Samsung, HTC or Sony for the same price.

The HiSilicon Kirin 655 is a very good SOC when compared to other SOC used in similar priced devices. It works well with gaming and other everyday tasks, like social media, web browsing, media consumption and email.

There was similar concerns over Honor 8 at the beginning, then later it gets CM, which is still buggy at this stage, but the progress is moving forward.
3G+32GB should be enough for most ppl daily use.

Nexus 6p may be a good recommendation but its usually still double the price of a Honor 6x. At least here.
I am currently holding back on making a 6x purchase as I rather a 64gb black front model which are not yet available here. But it seems there has been some progress with LineageOS. Fingers crossed!

Understand, an used 6P is about same price as a new 6X here in China.
If you are not hurry, maybe just wait for LineageOS to be mature. Otherwise, Honor 5X is another good option.

The only bad thing I discovered was 3dmark results, about 370, sooooo loooooow and sloooooooooow

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Since i used the huawei mate 7, i got kinda use to not getting any updates at least in timely manner or at all to be honest, but non the less hope never dies i guess Do you guys think that Huawei will put out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the p8 max, having in mind that we have the 5.1.1 already, or since we are such a small market share for them they wont care to do that ? I was thinking since this is a high premium phone, they might consider it or ? Maybe if some one has some info, maybe some speculations regarding this matter (i know its super early, especially for huawei, but still) ?
cheers.

Marshmallow definitely coming to the P8 Max. I dunno about you but ever since I had this phone, I've gone through 3 updates and I know there's one more coming in Oct that supports tap to wake so yeah I'm pretty satisfied in this area comparing with my previous phones from Sony and Samsung.

With Android 6 i think we get such a beast in battery life cant wait for it cause i will use mine so much on a day that i need it
I am actually hammering my battery with always wifi/3g on and media/social media/reading/writing/messaging apps etc. always on, and i still get juice to go in the end of the day after music/and vidoe playback to. amazing phone/battery
I also have got the b023 firmware now, on a chineese 703L P8max. I am waiting for the double tap to wake up in b025 upgrade, I am so happy about it! The phone will be perfect after this update!

any good 6"+ phones

so it seems that i have just about had it with my mate 7. if someone would have told me of the lack of custom roms i would not have bought it. having said that, its a new year with new phones rocking snapdragon 820!!! YAY!!! so, anyone know of any good 6 inch phones coming out soon? im currently looking at the Oppo R7 Plus and the ZTE Axon Max but like i said, im hoping for a phone with an SD820. anyway, any and all suggestions are welcome. thanks!
Just look at the news section of the XDA site. They're at MWC 2016 right now, looking at the new releases.
I have been looking at MVC I think this year was a huge disappointment. Vivo Xplay 5 was biggest surprise.
LG G5 was a nice concept..it is just that the LG lack totally any sense of elegant design.. it looks not good on the back..
camera and performance is probably good, but the battery performance is probably not good (and no I will not carry a extra battery in my pocket)
S7 I think they will suceed with most things, good battery life, best display..
Why I will not buy S7 is the price.. and Samsung software..I can't stand it..
I am not a huge fan of samsung design and form factor..
I regret I did not buy the Mate 8 in november now..I will now buy the Mate 8, the mocha brown version. I was so sure I would buy the gold version but..after much thinking..I will go with the mocha brown.
What's wrong with your M7?
I'd like a Mate 8 myself, it's a beast!
But I don't need one.
The Mate 7 does what I need. It's a nice phone.
If you want to update but your M7 is running ok, I'd wait a month or two and see what new models are released.
Well if official marshmallow had been released by now I might have kept the mate 7 for a while

I use Smart Launcher Pro. It's the only launcher I have found that properly supports full rotation and re-organisation of lockscreen and homescreen. I use it in landscape in the car and that one feature is a must have.
I removed the Huawei launcher. Just garbage without the app drawer. Why cripple the device so iSheep can use it?

Hey, give Huawei a chance. The hardware rocks, but the software lacks polish. Wait for a few more releases and I'm sure Huawei will release a phone with a software that's par with other brands.

I hesitated for a long time between the M7 and the R7 Plus , ended up with the R7 Plus and so far i'm very impressed , the official CM12.1/CM13 support is very nice , it has a Snapdragon 615 which is of course less powerful than the 820 but it results in an astounding battery life , lasting a full day and well into the second day. Good luck with whatever choice you make. :silly:

Honor 8 or Honor 9?

I want to buy a new smartphone with very good camera.
Honor 9 was better than Honor 8? which are more recommend?
How do they compare to Xiaomi Mi 6 in terms of quality picture and video recording?
Honor 8 have DT2W option available?
Honor 8 have a very good camera and video?
Thanks.
please more opinions.
Look for Honor 8 Pro or Honor 9.
There is no reason to buy Honor 8 anymore, when new phones are released.
But honor 8 is more cheap and great camera..
Honor 9 include minor upgrades?

I'd get Honor 9 as it has some nice improvements. Without double-touch to wake, Honor 8 with its rear-facing fingerprint sensor can be a bit cumbersome to unlock when laying flat on a desk. Other than that, the improvements to camera and audio present in H9 are welcome. Now having said that, I'd wait for the real-life reviews to see how performance and and batery-life of Honor 9 compares to H8 plus note that H9 will be much more expensive for a while, especially if you can find a good deal on H8, which is still an awesome phone.
No one knows the price of honor 9 outside China, and if someone have the honor 8, its not a worthy upgrade

How can you advice some to go for the Honor 9, have you personal tested or used the H9?
Just because these a new model of a previous device doesn't make it a better device.
Now as another member said to the Op if they can wait and have the budget for the H9 then yes Go for H9, but if budget kinda tight the H8 is a good device and may even be able to pick one up for well under 300 green backs.. It all boils down to do you need the new features of the H9?

I've read a few leaks about the Honor 7x, it's rumoured to be launched on October, and I couldn't find any specs, but I don't expect any big improvements.
This is still the best phone for € / $200 and the 7x the will be around € / $269.00 .
So in my opinion it's not worth to wait, just save some cash.

Well, if he waits and do look for deals, he can grab an honor 8 for 250$, and the only thing I know about the 6x succesor is that it will be called 7x
