When I try to flash this rom, a message 'cannot flash a lower version' appears.
I have a unlocked Redmi 4 Prime with a Chinese 8.1.3.0 MBECNDI firmware installed. How to flash this global rom?

You can't flash older rom over new rom, your current chinese rom is newer(8.1.3.0) than the one your flashing(8.1.2.0).

Not sure, but I think you can flash 8.1.2.0 via TWPR.

You'll just have to wait for newer Global Rom to be release(8.1.4.0 for example, higher version number), either way i think you can dirty flash the rom via TWRP like @fforward72 said(i haven't done it myself so i'm not sure it will work), for worse it has a possibility to reset or even brick your phone.

It is a clean installation if one installs the lower rom version over the miui updater.
I installed the global official .zip rom over the shop rom (with a higher version number) and I lost all of my data.
Luckily I did the backup before (there comes a warning before one starts the update).
Another thing, I rooted the global official rom with SuperSU over the twrp. Now I have an issue with the usb connection - no connection possible until I unroot.
Exchanging SuperSU with SuperUser didn't help, another workaround with build.prop modification helps just temporarily.
Any ideas or solutions?

Can you tell me what version of SuperSU did you flash, is it the beta or stable? I think the boot.img needs to be modified like Redmi Note 3 users did to root their phone.

Sorry if silly but exactly how does it differ from developer rom?
Any reviews?

Does xposed work in this rom?
On the one that I tried - fake global unlocked rom - it gets into boot loop :/

Does any one know how can I turn off SIM card menu opening after every reboot or turn on?

ROM Version Difference?

Hello,
Just received my Mi4c this past Friday. In the settings --> about Phone it lists my current ROM as version 77.00.44.00(LXKCNCI).
I see that the newest stable version on the official site is V7.0.7.0.LXKCNCI.
Am I on a different ROM path. Why does my current ROM list with two numbers? i.e. 77 and the current ROMS's list with only 1 number between the decimal points?
Am I really just on: V7.0.4.0?
Same here i have the version 77.00.44.00 same as yours
It means the rom is modified by your reseller. Will not get ota updates and may have spyware installed.
the 77 version is an adware/spyware version flashed by your reseller
Will Recovery Wipe Phone

Hello, I have downloaded the latest Stable Chinese ROM from Mi.
If I boot into recovery and flash this ROM will it erase my phone and all the malware/spyware?
If not, how can I do that so I am working from a clean image.
Thanks for any help!

I don't have a Xiaomi phone (yet), but here is what I think is the way to do this (and how I would do it if I get this phone):
1. Download the latest stable Chinese ROM from MI (as you say you've done, I would download the developer edition, but stable should be fine).
From here: http://en.miui.com/download-293.html
2. Follow the directions here:
http://en.miui.com/a-232.html
As I understand it, it should remove the unwanted apps that the reseller installs.

Edit: fix a typo

Thanks for the reply.
I do believe this worked. I tried to flash the Stable Chinese version but it would fail. The install would get to about 10% then would stop and say something about not being not verified. So I downloaded the latest developer version and that did flash fine.
I can confirm that the apps are no longer there.

Can't I just update the existing rom (77) to a non-developer rom via Suite app or stock recovery as it is stated in the miui guide?

Yep! I've just managed to update the fake version (77) with the latest non-developer build (7.0.15.0) via stock recovery.
Get rid of those resellee version of miui... Lot's of boatware installed, no updates, with bugs and with lot's of chinese written stuff... At least mine was like that until I installed miui dev version which by the way is pre-rooted and really clean. Now I suggest everyone to change to CM or Mokee as they really improve the phones performance... Specially downloads... My WiFi downloads now look like 4G downloads... It's insanely faster... Give it a try... But I do miss miuis interface which is the nicest one IMO...

[ROM][TWRP][ROOT] Cyanogen OS 12.1 YOG4PAS7DF

Hi folks! :highfive:
I'm a lazy guy and I was simply tired to use the stock recovery all the time the new OTA arrives, so I decided to make a prerooted ROM and share it with you. The modification is very simple and required me to edit just a few lines in the updater-script.
The coolest thing is that you can flash it using TWRP.
I haven't noticed any bugs so far, so tell me if the method works for you.

Thanks a lot. I'm already on YOG4PAS3OH but I'll definitely try as soon as we have an update.
Does it mean that we can dirty flash via TWRP without loosing root or it is a pre-rooted rom?

i tried flashing android 7.0 beta with twrp, ended up in a bootloop
I'm currently experiencing a flash issue as well.
I usually run MIUI EU but I can't find a solution to flash it to my 4X.
I've tried every TWRP I could find and I also tried every single release of EU MIUI for the 4X, I always end up with a missing partition and a force close as soon as I boot my device. However I had no idea latest 02.24 was based off both Android 6 and Android 7, that is probably why I'm facing this missing partition issue. Do you guys had a similar experience? Any advice you can share?
Thank you
EDIT: I'm quite sure the EU ROM is based off Android 7. It will work like a charm once I restore the China Dev based off Android 7.

Presumably the European version of miui
has anyone tried flashing this via TWRP and Flashing SuperSU after?
this step has worked for me when they leaked the Mi Max beta rom based on Android 7
but I think Redmi Note 4X has some stuff that needs to be dealt with for this to work.
coz, I have also tried Mi-Globe ROM, cannot boot peacefully into the system. always error in UI.
unlocked BL, flash twrp and other stuff to no avail.
I'm planning to buy the redmi note 4 snapdragon version available in India in the next sale on march 8, and was wondering if anyone here could tell ne if they have the beta version of the nougat based MIUI running on their phones(snapdragon ones), and if yes, whether it is a daily driver ir not. Screenshots would be very helpful

I'm in the same situation as you but I've tried to flash MIUI EU instead.
I've tried every possible combination of TWRP and MIUI versions but I had no luck so far.
I think MIUI for the 4X is based on Android 7, but I've tried both Android 6 and 7 versions but I always get the same issue after boot and I can0t even set it up.
Please advise!!!

Currently I'm on miui 8 7.3.2
thats for the fastboot flashing. but these other roms needs 3rd party recovery like TWRP. when you start flashing NOte 4X with 3rd party recovery. things get messy. no TWRP can crack the inside of the device to install new system. i dunno the proper term for that. *lol*

You're supposed to be on Global Stable 10.3.8.0. The dev roms ended 5 months ago, so you're most likely not going to get an OTA for MIUI 11.
Either you can flash the update zip through TWRP, if you have bootloader unlocked, or you can go to the updater, manually select the 10.3.8.0 OTA, and wait for the MIUI 11 OTA notification.
Maybe trying to do the same with the MIUI 11 OTA on the OP post could work, if you don't want to flash the 10.3.8.0 rom first, but I don't know if it's safe, considering you'd be going from Beta MIUI 10 to Global MIUI 11.
Also, you'll most likely lose your data in the process, so doing a backup is recomended.

Is this the MIUI version where they added widevine L1 to Poco? My phone is from very early releases and I changed the ROM before MIUI included Widevine for Poco, but some Devs say that you can flash MIUI to get Widevine and after that flash any other ROM and you will keep it.
Many thanks for sharing a TWRP flash package
