Installation of third-party can not be enabled - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Hi, I've just bought a Mate 9 (European version).
If I want to open security settings this crashes immedetially and I haven't been able to find an other way to enable installation of third party apps.
Does anyone have the same problem, any ideas or even a solution for my problem?

Opening /settings/advanced settings/security is not a problem for me (if that is what you mean). Do you have the MHA-L29 version? Maybe trying a factory reset fixes things. By enabling third apps you mean from the Playstore or apk files?

I was also able to enable that settings and install a non approved app

Sorry, posted twice.

Thanks for your replies.
So it seems that is not a common problem. Maybe it's caused from my backup from an huawei phone with an older emui version.
I want to install amazon underground which means I have to enable the installation of third party apps.
Before I try a hard reset I'll wait for the next update which should be shipped out in the next days, maybe that will fix it.
@ge2012: Yes, I habe the MHA-L29.

Here http://r.srvtrck.com/v1/redirect?ur...ip&ad_t=advertiser&ad_zi=YieldLink&ad_dt=link is a downloadlink for the just rolling out B126 full rom. Flash it and perform a factory reset and all will be fine. Or try the OTA http://r.srvtrck.com/v1/redirect?ur...ip&ad_t=advertiser&ad_zi=YieldLink&ad_dt=link and reset.

Hello, I keep having this problem for a week. Could you please tell me how to fix it? I am using a p905 note pro lte internatonal sim lock free, unrooted device. Thanks
Go to settings 》application settings and try clearing the data for the application
do you mean application manager? Tried twice but the issue remains.

try and uninstall it and re-install if you are able.. something could have gotten screwy ... also.. a lot of the google apps tend to sometimes have issues after updates.. you could just try and uinstall the most recent update and see if it still occurs..

I cannot uninstall the app. there is no such option. i uninstalled update and this error message shows up non-stop.
keep having the problem the entire day. what can I do? thanks
I uninstalled updates and the error shows up like craxy. Then, I went to playstore to reinstall update. Still get the error shown on the topic. Is there anything that I could do besides a factory reset?

are you rooted?if you are, you can use Titanium Backup to uninstall the app (think you might have to buy the pro if you dont have in order to mess with system apps, but if you dont own and are rooted, 1 of the few apps very worth buying).
if you do this, then you can go and reinstall from playstore as a fresh install..
if those don't work, then factory reset/odin back to stock may be needed..
also, if rooted you could try using a rom and flash that as an option..
My device is not rooted. Is there a way to solve the problem without rooting?
Only other thing I'd try prior to a factory reset would be to remove your google account information and then add it back in (settings - general - accounts). This may reset GAPPS (google apps) to the point where maps works again.
Did you by any chance delete or deactivate several Google processes? Like Google Services?

I think i messed up, NRD90M Test keys

I updated my stock L09C636B170 to B560(I think, cant check with it just saying test keys) using Firmware finder proxy method . Everything seemed to be in order, it downloaded the update and applied it.
System seems faster but I've noticed that my bluetooth can't be turned on (I use it frequently for my smartwatch and car). Also certain apps seem to be missing. (clock, updater, etc)
I'm not sure how to fix these issues and really need you guys to help me out here.

I don't know for sure, but it sounds like you're in the early steps of how I messed up myself just recently.
Here's how I managed to fix my device again: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72794604&postcount=6 (Obviously, I can't guarantee anything, it's just what worked for me. Maybe you don't have to do quite as much as I did, since your phone still boots, at least.)
I hope it works out for you, too. :fingers-crossed:
Edit: Just read you are on a stock ROM by now. I don't think you have to unlock your bootloader for that, but I could be wrong. Should you encounter any problems in the process, this may(!) be cause.

google play uncertified after update to B225

anybody seeing uncertified device in google play after upgrade firmware B225 in mate 9 Chinese version? it was certified in B213
Interesting. I have the same for B225. What does this mean?
not sure, maybe because of the integration of GMS into the FW but so far all gapps work fine without any issues, v8.X supposed to come out yesterday or today so hope it will update without any issues.
May be its a reason that Android pay stop working on this firmware.
Anybody know how to fix this?

haven't tried it yet but you are correct, some gapps will only work on certified devices
This is a bug of Google or Huawei? Google support can't tell me anything about it.
I am think that firmware not official.
Perhaps you can contact Google support for help. Good luck to you.
anyone got this fixed? been thinking about doing a factory reset and reinstall gapps from scratch but not sure if will work or if its better to wait for a new fw update from huawei whenever that happens
This has been the case for me on the last several releases. I have not experienced any difficulties or even change whatsoever. I don't use Android Pay though.

i did in b213 but now I cant also photos and contacts dont sync automatically in the background unless I open the app other than that everything works as expected
I have the same thing installed on the MHA-L29C432B193 via FunkyH, I have had it several times before and over time, and no problems in the applications or their updates have caused it.
Same here on 193. It is because firmware is not certified by Huawei jet.

I had just rebranded from C567B190 to C432B193 (for the frequent security updates as it seemed like it was getting updates every month), and now Playstore says uncertified and Google Play is refusing to work, stating:
"Android Pay can't be used on this device
This may be because your device is rooted, has an unlocked bootloader or is running a custom ROM..."
I hope you're right about this, arminbih, I'd hate to lose the ability to run Android Pay because of what I did and I'd hate to have to do another factory reset.
My phone's bootloader is locked after the rebranding script finished flashing the official B193. Did the recommended steps, 2 script runs and factory reset, but I hope nothing was messed up during the process. I should've backed up the original partitions in TWRP before proceeding with flashing. Oh well.
Anyone else have a clue?

193 is unstable, force closes some apps, and camera does not work in RAW mode. I suggest going back to 190 or before, they are certified.

Thank you for your reply. Off-topic question, would you know if it's easy to go back to 190 without losing data?
(I certainly should look that up myself, I know, but I literally just got the phone yesterday so it's still much of uncharted territory for me)

Search "firmware finder" on play store and forums. You can upgrade downgrade as much as you like via official upade changing dns.

I too had B193 installed, and Android Pay wouldn't work. SafetyNet basic integrity passed but not CTS Profile, and probably because of B193 being uncertified. Went back to B190 now that it's certified and Pay works again and SafetyNet passes on both checks.
I have previously used updates the day they were released on hwmt.ru and they have worked fine with SafetyNet, even when it said uncertified. So this might be something new.
That's great to know. Thank you.
Were you able to downgrade without a wipe, and if so, what method did you use?
I've been messing with FF and the proxy method but no dice so far.

[Problem] EMUI Themes doesn't work or better no changing

Hi everybody,
I have a little problem with my 6X (BLN-L21C432B360) and I didn't find the solution for it. After a longer time I try to change my theme, but nothing happend. I try it with an 'free' hwt-file and with a theme from the 'theme-store' and nothing works. After that I checked the settings and I didn't found anything that helps. Next step was a factory reset, with restore the apps and some data of the apps and the display layout. Didn't help. Last try was a reinstall the B360 Firmware and check again all settings. At the end it didn't work. If I choose a theme, and I press 'apply' the screen would be renew, but there is no change to the new choosen theme.
Has someone the same problem, or better does someone knows the solution for that problem ? I think it is a 'hidden' permission, that I don't found.
An idea was, to reinstall the themes or EMUI app, but I didn"t found an apk file.
Thanks for our help.

Hi, did you already tried to use EMUI themes factory app available on Play Store? It's an alternative themes engine for custom themes, maybe it could work... Anyway, i just extracted my EMUI themes apk file. I have a BLN-L21xxxx360 too, so if you'd like to try a reinstall, i leave in attachments the apk (even if i don't think that the problem will be solved this way)
Thanks, the first fast try with the attachment said that the file is brocken....why ever. The other way, the EMUI themes factory store isn't show in my Play Store, or I didn't find him.....
Broken? Dammit, on my phone works... I already faced this problem with an other Huawei app some time ago, the compass. Seems like extracting apks from Huawei stock roms doesn't always works so... Can't figure out why, since that if there was some kind of copyright or protection in their apps, the apks extracted shouldn't work at all, neither on my phone. Try follow this link to go on Huawei themes factory https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emuithemesfactory.emuithemesfactory to me the app is shown
@RedSkull23
no change.....
I install the app, download a theme, press 'apply', restart my phone.....and it didn"t work.
What I find out, if I use the customize button ( I hope that is the right word for it, because my system language is not english). It shows that the theme change is made. He shows for both, lock screen wallpaper and Icons the new theme. When I try to change the lockscreen wallpaper and the icons manuel nothing happend.
Changing the wallpaper of the homescreen and the lock screen via the system setting works wonderfull.
Wow... That's f****** weird. At this point i dunno what it'd be. The data restore after the wipe of the data could not help if the error was in data files, but the reinstallation of the firmware theoretically should had fixed that... one last thing so: did you gave access to "phone" permission at the themes app? It couldn't work without that permission because Hw themes checks your IMEI, try to look if the themes app owns that permission from
Settings-> apps-> themes-> authorizations
I checked the permissions of the theme app. There are three things. All of them are given. No changes.....
How about installing an older version of EMUI themes (just the previous version) and see if it changes any thing
I try one thing. I made a factory reset of my device with no restore. The naked phone (without Google or any apps), I try to switch the theme and it didn't work. So now I think that my Firmware ROM has the problem. I thinkk the best way would be an rollback to an older Firmware and then an upgrade to the actually version.

If even an older version suffers that bug i think that too. Try even that method, if nothing will change start to consider the idea of switching to an other firmware compatible with your phone

So, I made a complete rollback to B130 via B300. After that, I try the themes and it works. Then I made the update (back) to B360 and then the themes work.

Very bizarre because coming back on B360, that should contain the same files of the previous B360, should make represent the issue but finally you've solved the problem and that's what matters.

Question Phone always removes permissions of apps

My phone removes permissions of apps always after a few days, sometimes after a reboot. Today this was the case after installing the new os update.
This is most problematic for bitwarden and my file manager. It's the "manage all files permission" and the "overlay over other apps permission". I already made sure, that the permission removal option is off.
Any ideas why this happens?

Since you have already checked this setting, it appears to be a software bug, since it started after an update.

Actually, this did not start after an update, but usually the permissions get removed after updates or restarts. I had this issue since the beginning - I bought it about 3 weeks ago.

I guess this is Android 13 problem. I see similar problems on my OnePlus 8T and iQOO Neo 6, and both of them are running on Android 13. Some of the settings get reset after a reboot and I have to reconfigure everything from scratch. Pretty annoying.
Thanks for your reply. I found something similar here:

Maybe I'll try to factory reset.

Factory reset is unlikely to solve this problem.
This bug must be fixed by Google, or the OEM since they have their own implementation. I don't have this problem on my S22U, but I do have it on my OnePlus and iQOO phones.
