Mods for SM-T350. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0" [XAR/USA] - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Themes, Apps, and Mods

This thread will contain many mods that will work with SM-T350.
List of things to do with the SM-T350 [More to be Added Soon!] (Testers who own SM-T350 can post here too!) :
The order will be Download (Sometimes will be a Downloading page, where you get to select which version you want or what type you want) {Name}; [Thread]; and then any additional Info for installing it.
ViPER4Android [Thread] (Remember to have a permissive kernel or it will not work!) Check here for installing a permissive kernel.
Dolby Atmos / Dolby Atmos Uninstaller [Thread] (Remember to install ViPER4Android before you install this if you want both!)
Magisk Manager / Magisk v9 / Magisk Uninstaller [Thread] (If you want this and Xposed and SuperSU, it's better to install this before those two)
SuperSU v2.79 [Thread] (Install before Xposed)
Material Xposed {You select version of .apk -latest to oldest-} [Thread] (Install after these two above if you want Magisk. This is just an .apk! You have to install the .zip from the app!)
-If you do not want Magisk, but want Xposed, then install SuperSU first and then install Xposed .apk and then find the .zip inside that app.
-If you do not want Xposed, but want Magisk, then install SuperSU after flashing the Magisk .zip file. (It will have to be in System-less because Magisk is System-less.
{There is a variety of solutions for these, it depends on what rom you are on. AOSP based, Cyanogenmod, Stock, Deodexed, etc.}
Things not to do while having SM-T350 [More to be Added Soon!]
Do not install MoaAB (Mother of all Ad Blocking)! It will destroy your Hosts file and potentially ruin your Bluetooth and you Wi-Fi capabilities!!!
If you are a developer or you know what you are doing, then reply back to me and I'll give you the download links and files.

Most of these currently work with Lollipop and Marshmallow firmwares. I have tested all of them. (I have Marshmallow so far. It's running on Evervolv rom by @elginsk8r.

Sure. The link for Dolby Atmos is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=13100
This file should work on KitKat, Lollipop, and Marshmallow. [Not sure about Nougat, but no worries because Samsung did not release Nougat for their own devices yet.]

Can you get a link

Do you want to download it the Magisk way (system app) or the manual way (you get to choose if you want to download as system app or user app)?

Hi! can i get the link for all of the tweaks so that i can test which is best my the device, or maybe you could give some advice. thank you!

I use OG youtuber

I tried to use Magisk and couldn't get it to boot for me. Do you have a Magisk that will and if so I would love to test it on my rom ( Marshmallow 6.0.1). To get the Pixel Assistant to work woukd be awesome. I am currently using SuperSu in system and using the Wanam Exposed installer. I would love to test the in system version as I am not trying to mask my root.
Thank you in advance for any information.

Ok, for the Magisk, you will have to flash the Magisk before you install Xposed Framework.
Remember! You must have SuperSU before all this happens and you need a stable custom recovery before you start the process! Even though it says to install SuperSU, you must do it again so it is stable with Magisk!
Hint: Download Magisk v9 (latest), flash it first, flash SuperSU (Magisk compatible). I'm sorry but it will be in System-less because Magisk is system-less. (I know, System-less sucks).

I've got a few questions about my SM-T350 I've been trying to get squared away
When I attempt to flash Magisk in recovery I get a message.. something about boot.img already patched.. I'm on Fenix rom currently..
I noticed I got an OTA update notification too since I'm using Systemless SuperSU apparently.. if I take an OTA.. will I lose root & be reverted to stock recovery as well ?
That's pretty much it.. having a good time otherwise

Where can I get this rom.

I sincerely hope that question is in jest and not serious as someone that has as many posts as you shouldn't be that dim bulbed.....however if you were being serious which rom are you speaking of? This thread is not for a romantic it is for add-ons and mods for the sm-t350.

Fenix Rom already has a type of Superuser, Magisk Superuser is different so it will not work. You need a stock rom and flash just the Magisk and then install Magisk version of SuperSU if there is one...

Glad to see you here, your 6p thread and ROM seems to be pretty popular. Once I get my tablet next week, I'll for sure give this a flash.
Does this comes with a Gapps?
Yes the core features of Google are included like PlayStore and GMail
This works with unofficial builds of magisk 10 and phh's superuser if anyone was wondering.
Sh0X31, I see you mentioned that you only build for devices you have. Would you be willing to look into making a version for the "OG" model? I happily volunteer to test anything. What do you think?

Phh's superuser is an opensource alternative to SuperSU and in combination with magisk works with apps that check for safety net. Magisk takes the systemless root idea to a broader level. Making essentially every compatible mod systemless. Let's say you're on a stock rom and want to be able to keep OTAs, but there's a feature you must have, maybe it's an advanced power menu, or wanted to to use an app that functions better when a system app. Magisk does all of this on each boot, but in a away that doesn't actually modify the system in a way ota's can tell. So the mods are only applied while booted, and makes recovering from bootloops easier. The threads/sections for them would explain better. Plus the creator of Magisk and several other amazing devs working on it have the same phone I have (htc 10) so it makes support super easy.

Viper4Android and MAGISK question

Before I take the plunge, can anyone confirm if the one I want to install in MAGISK is:
VIPER4android FX
v1.6.9
created by Viper520, ZhuHang, Ahrion, Zackptg5
there are three entries for VIPER4Android, but this one seems to be the most up to date.
for reference, the other 2 are called
VIPER4Android FX (v2.3.4.0)
VIPER4Android FX for Magisk v15
I noticed some people having issues with the driver install and in some cases bootloops but from what could tell that was due to custom kernels. I am stock with only MAGISK.

[GUIDE] How to install Dolby Digital Plus on Android Pie

For quite some time I've been looking for ways to install Dolby.
Whenever I tried to install this mod with other guides, Dolby closed itself and there was no way to use it.
Today, I found the method myself (by chance) to install DDP (Dolby Digital Plus)
REQUIREMENTS
Android Pie
Root with magisk
Internet
4. Luck (does not usually work the first time)
DOWNLOADS
All versions of dolby compatible with Android Pie-Oreo I recommend the latest version.
ViPER4Android Use only the STABLE version. Download via XDA Labs
Steps
1. Download ViPER4Android from XDA Labs (https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/com.pittvandewitt.viperfx)
2. Download the ViPER drivers. Just enter the application and say "Yes" when the pop-up message appears. (The mobile will reboot)
3. Go to Magisk and verify that the Viper4Android module is installed.
4. Install this module in Magisk.
5. Download Dolby and install it in Magic from the "+" button in Modules.
6. Restart
7. Verify that we have the Dolby module and the application.
8. Now, you can open Dolby and it will work perfectly. If not, try again from the beginning.

Tested on a Xiaomi Mi A1

I run stock with EdXposed YAHFA. I'm a little confused by your two separated lists, though. For instance, you have a lot of overlap... but things like GravityBox Q certainly works for stock roms but isn't listed.

Xposed Module on Oneplus 8T

I tried both the methods (Sandhook and YAHFA) after installing the core and my device went into a boot-loop. I've reset it using msm 5 times now. Has anyone been able to install the Xposed module to their device without the eternal bootup animation? Moreover, is it me, or does rooting this device make it sortof unstable? (Apps crashing and general UI lag)
Only the canary version (v0.5.0.6-android_r) works on Android 11, which version number are you installing?

Oh, I didn't know this. There is a canary version of the Edxposed? I have (had) the canary version of magisk installed but I don't think I a canary version of Edxposed among the downloadable modules in magisk. Have you tried it and does it work? I have come back to android after 5 years so it's quite confusing for me, last I flashed SuperSU using TWRP on OnePlus 3.
Could you link me to the guide for installing Edxposed through Magisk for Android 11 devices?

To download the canary version you need to install Edxposed manager app first and then head to the canary tab and download either YAHFA or sandhook.
Afterwards you flash that zip file with magisk via internal storage

Yes it does. I tried it yesterday. And even after uninstall it was still broke. It was a pain without TWRP to get the safety net back to good.

I tried both the methods (Sandhook and YAHFA) after installing the core and my device went into a boot-loop. I've reset it using msm 5 times now. Seriously i don't know why you want absolutely install Xposed on a 8T, Xposed is dead from a long time, actualy it's just the last old version ported/fixed by chinese dev for be compatible with new Android version.
But be sure when you said "does rooting this device make it sortof unstable? (Apps crashing and general UI lag)"
1/ NO it's not the ROOT making your smartphone unstable but it depend of your apps and usage
2/ YES for sure Xposed will create unstability, Xposed golden age was on Android 5/6, now it's finish

What do you suggest for usability? I, too, have been out of the rooting game for some time. When last I was rooted Xposed was the bees-knees. It offered so much usability as far as tweaks and mods.

Xposed died, now it *sorta* survives through edxposed BUT it's very unstable even on a good day and completely breaks safety net....
Edxposed is a newish kind of Xposed but barely works
If you can move to the eu or global firmware, use renovate ice for tweaks, it's basically the same thing as gravity box

Ugh, I wish I'd seen this thread before attempting to install EdXposed on my 8T.
I've been out of the root/magisk game for a few years -- :glares at LG G710TM: -- and yeah, the last time I was in this space Xposed was a big deal.
Problem is i use the old (HushSMS Silent Feature -0) The features do not work with out Exposed. This ****** sucks.
