It's a tradeoff because battery is easily accessible (good for extreme users).

water damage?

Has anyone found any information on how samsung plans to deal with an S5 that has water damage. being that the phone is supposed to be water resistant ( and I have watched a few blogger test of the water proofing with surprisingly good results) also post general water resistant discussions here

It isn't supposed to be waterproof. It's supposed to be water RESISTANT for shallow water (1 meter I believe) for 30 minutes or less.
Point made and that is what I meant. But still curious if Samsung is going to stand behind that

Yeah how do you/they prove that it leaked at 1.1 meters or .9 meters?
I have a feeling that it will usually swing their way and they won't cover it....

Rusted Home Button

Phone not even 5 months old and already rusting. Has anyone else having this problem. Bought this phone for my wife.
Was it dropped in saltwater or something?

Nope.. There's no water marks on the sticker under the battery cover.
You're the first person to get plastic to rust!

No, that's why I wasn't more insulting It looks just like the fake metal coated plastic on the edge of the phone, so I just assumed it was plastic...

A shot in the dark here...you said this was your wife's phone right? Seeing that it is around the crease of the button...is it possible it is makeup stuck in there from when she presses it to her face on a phone call? Did you try a q-tip and some alcohol to see if it cleans out?

Why don't you just open the phone up and find out??
Pretty sure that's makeup stuck in there.
Those parts are plastic.
Turn off device
Q-tip with alcohol
soak the home button
wait a few minutes
Vacuum the moisture out.
Wait an hour or 2
Turn on device.
Nrush it off with a toothbrush and water, that part shpuld get water damage anyways, if the phone dies don't blame me tho lol

Is wet touchscreen more responsible than S5?

It's a pain to control Samsung Galaxy S5 when the touchscreen is wet or there are few drops of water. There used to be similar issue with Sony Xperia phones until Z3+ and Z5 that got really good at handling the touchcreen when wet (http://blog.gsmarena.com/wet-touchscreen-test-sony-xperia-z3-vs-xperia-z3/). So how good is the S7?
I am also interested.
Yes, I saw a first impressions video on YouTube of the guy using the screen underwater. Safe to assume it works significantly better with it wet.
Can anybody confirm?

guys help

I have dbrand camo skin so i want to use my device without case but i have concern about protecting camera so any suggest camera guard for one plus 6
What do you mean 'guard'? Are you not using the camera skin which came with your dbrand? Or do you want additional protection for the camera that you are choosing not to use on the phone itself? If latter I cant think of the logic behind that or a solution I am afraid.
Dbrand has a camera skin, also you can search for a camera tempered glass protector on Amazon or AliExpress
There is nothing that will protect the camera bump. So You gotta be careful or put a case. Camera skins are just a skin that go around the lenses!

Transparent Oneplus 7 Pro

I just want to share with you my favorite modification to the OnePlus 7 Pro. I love transparent phones and this is what I did with mine.
I am going to replace the tape for glue but I wanted to show you how it looks.
Very cool ? Enjoy that 7 Pro!

Thanks! I also have a transparent Note 9. They should offer all the phones that way.
Hello jerryrigeverything,
Did it scratches at level 6, with deeper groves at level 7 ?

Zhanlida T-7000. It is black and it is very similar to the original. I prefer black because it does not turn yellow with light.
Do you have one to recommend me?

You think it's still water proof?
That looks really cool! But did you strip down a nebula blue model? That pains me internally lol but hey, it DOES look good!

No. It is not waterproof anymore, but if I apply the glue very carefully I can seal it as much as possible. I just love the way it looks.

Yes. It is the 12gig model. I tried to resist my impulse but at the end I couldn't. I am really happy with the final result. I looks fantastic.

My Note 9 has glue and I was very careful applying it. I can not assure you that it is 100% waterproof but it has received humidity from rain, wet tables, etc and I have not had a single problem. I gave it to my brother and he loves it. I think that being carefull it can be waterproofed.
Jerryrigeverything and the other guys who make transparent phones just do it to show but not for daily use. I am confident that my phones are sealled. Time will tell but the note 9 has been transparent por months and is perfect.

Yes. I saw it but I preferred the original look. It would be great if the original battery color was red but I do not want to touch the battery.
OP, I have a quick question. Isn't there some sort of black "card" that covers the motor for the front camera? I think it contains the NFC antenna.
Did you lose any functionality (other that waterproofing) by doing this? I only ask because, once I break my back glass (and I'm sure I will eventually), I'll probably do this as well.
Looks good btw.

I removed the black cover to be able to show the camera motor and the board. I just lost NFC which I never use. Everything else works as expected.
In a couple of days I will post new pictures with the back glass glued and I think that I can make it waterproof again or at least splash resistant.

It was never water proof.
It was mildly water resistant. An not now.
