No, if you don't want to root, you can have stock u firmware without root, but you're not going to have WiFi calling or volte without root, at least you had to have root before haven't checked on the new firmware.

If we update from PH1 without root can we go to PH3 and follow the root process

On sammobile there is a USA version and also a USA (Verizon) version. Is there any difference in the files?

What else is broken on this Firmware for Verizon? I don't care about Wifi Calling or VoLTE.

Vvm I think that's it.

OK, do you have to root the FW to be able to use it?

I get the dm-verity issue when I flash this on my ph1 device
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Here if you want to root here is a new root bat with latest supersu image just extract zip enable adb on phone plug in phone run the root.bat
S7Root.zip
Then to fix volte and VV mail and wifi calling flash this in flashfire
VVM_Volte_Wifi_Calling_G935UPI3_Fix.zip

After getting this to. Falsh on my phone I get a serving for service issue any help would be appreciated

I dont think this is a U firmware issue, I had this issue on rooted PH1 too.

Hi, when you say unlocked, you mean SIM unlocked?
As far as I know Verzon´s s7 edge comes factory sim unlocked or do I have to flash this firm to hav it sim unlocked?

There is not root for 4.4 yet. I don't doubt it will be out in the next 1 or 2 months
So, has anyone upgraded this to Kit-Kat yet? I don't think we'll ever see it from AIO.

Do you have root? I know there's a way to download and grab the zip from the phone if you have root. Otherwise the other method you suggested may work.
EDIT: Root method is easier as you just download, use file manager to get it from /cache, and then you can upload it for others. I don't know which root methods do and don't work for your device however. Logcat can be done, you'll just be looking through a lot of lines of logs possibly.

its true what you say, i have been trying logcat but it shows a ton of lines, and im searching for the hotword .zip or zip or update and no results give me a URL, maybe samsung is cloaking the update from logcat or they found a way to hide it, in my phone the root i know it works is kingo root, but when im rooted the phone does not let me download the update, it says "your phone has been modified, updates are not available"

Try installing Xposed Framework and Wanam Xposed, and use the fake Official system status option. I think that might fix it but I don't remember all it checks.

SM-G930U Now Flashes to SM-G930T

With the latest update of PI3 on the SM-G930U the bootloader is now on version 4. Found out trying too flash a version 2 bootloader from Verizon firmware.

Just a note, you'll lose FM radio support. I was really hoping they would include it in the update, but no love sadly. I have the U and am considering flashing the T for it. Comes in handy at the gym for watching tv, but then I'll have bloat. Decisions decisions.
Can I flash the tmobile modem over this and get the 4x4 mimo support? Or does that also include some code in the firmware?

No issues on my end. I flashed T then back to U without any hassle. Probably is your odin or faulty usb cable or port.

No, flashing the U firmware does not Sim Unlock the device. You must first unlock then flash if you want to switch carriers. Otherwise just flash and use your same provider SIM.

Nougat Beta??

Has anybody been able to enter the Samsung beta Program?
Dumping files for us for G930T? The G930F already posted the Odin files for Nougat Beta
yes
The 14th should be when it's released to the accepted registered beta testers. The dates are posted in the beta app
9th for Sprint, 11th for Verizon, 14th for TMO
Thanks every one, hope someone dump does files for us
Whoever gets the update tomorrow. PULL THR UPDATE ZIP!
If I get it I will and post it. I have ready done this from my wife's sprint edge variant.
Here is how you do it:
You have to be on the latest firmware and not rooted.
If you get the update notification.
Download it, but do not install it.
Then root your device. DO NOT WIPE IT
The update.zip is located in /data/fota/update.zip
Pull it using adb or use root Explorer to move it to the root of your SDCard and then your pc.
Please wait for someone to verify it works before flashing the update or unroot.
Unfortunately I will not be able to pull said update as I do not want to root my device. I require working Knox and other benefits.

Only on the Exynos S7.
We use an engineering kernel that's signed by Samsung for root, so it doesn't trip Knox.
The root method for us doesnt trigger knox.
If I could Pull the update.zip It would be a pleasure but it was Full for register when I tried.

Am I the only one not having nougat?

I am late to join galaxy s7, just recently got one on eBay. UK Vodafone locked. I had it unlocked couple of days ago. Expecting it to receive nougat ota. But nothing has happened yet. When will I get that? I want to try out nougat then decide whether to root.
Removing the network lock won't have any affect on which firmware your phone has, only that you can now use it on any network & so as is you would be waiting for Vodafone to release a VOD version of Nougat.
AFAIK There is only a BTU/Samsung generic version of Nougat available in the UK on the S7 right now so if you wanted it sooner you could flash to BTU.

Flashing a stock ROM eg from SamMobile won't trip Knox. Only customs ROMs & rooting do that. OTA updates should work fine if the right flashing procedure is followed.

Thanks a lot, I was getting frustrated because I don't want my firmware to have anything to do with any carrier. Do you happen to know if there is a chance that Samsung's service can see that the BTU CSC is not the phone's original CSC and decline a warranty claim?

You could run into problems there if you needed to send the phone in for repair if the firmware is checked by the retailer or whoever they send their phones off for repair to. Personally would just flash it back to the original CSC before sending it off. Both CSCs would need to be on the same Android version though as from what I remember reading flashing an Android downgrade can brick your phone. I did read elsewhere someone managed to flash back to Marshmallow from Nougat as VoLTE wasn't working in Nougat as it turned out both were using the same boat loader but that's the only case like that I recall.
From experience Samsung's Smartswitch software doesn't look your phone up to establish which firmware it should have. It just goes on the current CSC if you were eg. to do an emergency firmware initialisation.
