Tempered Glass Screen Protector For The Back of Honor 8 - Honor 8 Accessories

Stumbled upon this and thought it may be good to share with the members here.
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Nillkin-Anti-Explosion-Hardness-Tempered/dp/B01J1D7RTI
Bought one and tried - verdict: it's less prone to fingerprints. Now I'll be looking for a bumper case next

Does it lift on the sides? I have their front screen protector and it lifts on the edges.

Bought one from http://m.aliexpress.com/item/32701520282.html
And it was probably even easier to set up than the front. Unfortunately it does lift on the edges as well. I have yet to find one that doesn't have that effect. Then again the 2.5d glass makes it difficult like that.

An alternative
Hello people of honor
I found a very cheap alternative back protector on ali today.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-P...-8-Clear-Ultra-Thin-Slim-Fit/32756887262.html
It says the material is carbon fibre. According to pictures, it's partialy transparent. Also it should help with grip (hearing the phone is very slipery, still awaiting mine). The question is, how will it look on the phone. Could be somewhere betweeen good and an absolute abomination.
I ordered one today, I'll post here when I get mine (and my phone) if I remember & won't feel lazy.

Ohhhh that actually looks nice! Looking forward to seeing how it looks.

Is there a completely clear thin back film? I just want one to protect from scratches while still using a case

Tempered glass is NOT what I'm looking for. That's intended to use without a case. I need the old standard thin protector to leave no bulk while still using a case

My bad..lol
mine using this one
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J1D7KU4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
the back layer thinner than front 0.3mm layer

I bought nillkin 0.2mm tempered glass protector for the front and it also came with a plastic protector for the back. I bought the carbon fiber back protector and it is garbage. The hole cutouts are off and it doesn't stick to the back that well. I'm just using the one included with nillkin.

I've been really impressed with the Skinomi protector. The cut-outs are spot on and orange peel is at a minimum. Other protectors with cut-outs for the front facing camera and sensors tend to cut out a portion of the protector rather than having actual holes punched out so that the chances of the edges lifting increases. The Skinomi actually punches out holes in the protector giving the impression of a more finished look. You wouldn't think that there is anything on the screen itself unless you look around the edges and see the ends of the protector tracing the edge of the screen Speaking of the edges, I am really impressed how the skinomi is able to follow the curvature of the screen without lifting. I have had the screen protector on since I received the phone in late November and I have the official bumper on. Scratches and indentations do take a while to clear up, but with the screen on, it is not even noticeable. I am truly impressed with Skinomi.

Best dry install? Spigen Dual, it's literally one of the best protectors I've ever used(hori has the best but theirs are for game consoles). Anyway the quality of the Spigen dual is unmatched, the rear protector almost has full accuracy, it's missing just a little bit of height but not enough to make a fuss over it. And the front, while not covering the curves, still overs great protection. They chose the slim profile for the front to avoid the lifting that normally occurs with the curvy designs, which is honestly a fair trade-off. I would rather have this design than one that allows dust and lifting to occur. Overall I give Steinheil a 9/10 for their efforts.

I'm in contact with Spigen CS to figure out what the problem is. In my opinion Spigen are the ultimate protector - I just want my N4 one to fit!

Best Skins Ever has an option for a protector cut specifically to be used with a case.
Fantom 4 (my favorite) is made of glass and i would imagine would be good too. on their website they recommend to use it with a case.

Actually contrary to the Amazon image it does indeed have the sensor cut out. I was worried about that being an issue before it arrived, but I'm relieved that it should be just fine.

You could try the Fantom 5 Tempered Glass protector as it's actually made of glass.

Tempered Glass for s4 pros and cons over Film protectors?

What the pros and cons of tempered glass screen protector vs a Film screen protector?
My concern about the Tempered glass is that :
--it's adhesive is only on the bezel area and since sgs4 have smaller bezel so it might get detached easily
--Tempered Glass might scratch the glass beneath it
--If adhesive of the Tempered glass became less sticky Dust might accumulate inside
So can you tell me your experience with tempered glass screen protector? I really want to hear from someone who used this screen protector for long time and not on these reviews on youtube since they only used it on the time they review it.
And also does anyone tried using combination of Film and T.glass protectors?
i never bothered because they're so expensive and i screw up the screen anyways so the film type are more easily replaceable
ill probably end up buying 2 or 3 cases and end up using only screen protectors in most situations lol.
to me i rarely drop my phone but i have trouble keeping it out of my pocket with my keys and change, other things. ive been pretty good about it but not perfect.
First off my only problem with tempered glass on my S3 was that it messed with screen responsiveness... Now the ones for the S4 are mostly half the thickness of last years so that should help that problem a lot. The iLoome protector fort the S4 is fully clear and I assume it has adhesive over the entire surface. The sense of mind you get with glass is great. Plus the feel of glass is much better than that of other screen protectors. If you can find one that doesn't take away from screen sensitivity than i'd say it's definitely worth it if you care about your phone.

I have a "Flexible Glass Screen Protector" on my S3 that has adhesive all across the back. I have only removed it once in the couple month's that I've had it. I have not encountered any dust getting between the two pieces of glass. The adhesion has not deteriorated any either. I am very happy with it and I really am hoping I will be able to locate one for my S4. The only draw back that I have found is that the thicker protector limits the cases you can use. My favorite cover before I got the protector was the Seidio Surface case and it no longer can be used. I also like my Otterbox Defender case and I was able to "squeeze" it on after I removed the plastic protector that came on the cover. It's a tight fit, but it does work.

It isn't 6mm thick, that would be +70% the thickness of the entire phone! lol
Maybe 0.6mm, that would still be very thick for a screen protector.

Just watched a review of the Spigen Glas.tR and it is also CLEAR!

I had a glass protector on my GS3 (XGear Spectre, I think) and it worked fine - no loss of sensitivity. It did allow some tiny dust in, but it was easy to lift and wipe it out the couple of times it happened over 8 months. And the week before my S4 came in, I managed to drop the S3 on its face...the screen protector cracked, and the phone is still perfect. Looking at the Spigen one next week just because of that.

Okay, I found the ad for the flexible glass protector. I ordered it on eBay, this one is very similar even though it is for the Note 2: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...193&pid=100040&prg=1011&rk=1&sd=230950051927&
I love this screen protector and am hoping that I will be able to get one for the new S4.
---------- Post added at 12:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:08 PM ----------
I also had the one everyone was talking about at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920757
But, like someone said previously, it had adhesive only on the outside edges and dust or dirt could get underneath the protector.
I ended up breaking it on the corner when I removed it to clean beneath it.
That does look like a nice one.
I bought the Spigen Slim Glass screen protector and I am 100% satisified. Zero less in screen sensitivity and it feels smooth as, well, glass

Spigen GLAS.t SLIM = non-rounded borders - (0.23mm) - thinner
Spigen GLAS.tR SLIM = rounded borders (0.4mm)
You're correct the t is the thinner material. Either way it feels great and installs fairly easily.
I had the glas for the s2, I LOVED(easy to clean the screen of finger oils) it, however, it attracted dust underneath the screen protector due to adhesive being only at the edges, I took it off after a couple of months. With the full adhesive, i will definitely buy again for my soon to arrive S4. Especially since I just dropped my s2 face down on the ground and broke the screen a couple weeks back (without case), the glas would serve as a shield.

Finally found a full glass screen protector

Ordered this off eBay and its great. Covers the whole glass on the phone and does NOT have the halo effect around the glass but only near the home button which isn't much. The borders are black to possibly hide the halo, and or parts of the glass that isn't touching the screen itself. Pictures were taken on a Nexus 5 so you know where I'm getting at.

hii .. how does the phone fit in a case ? does the edges of the screen protector get pushed by the case ?
Is that really full cover? edge cover?
It does cover edges but i would like to see one on gold s6. Also to OP, how is around home button now?
The glass covers the entire front of the phone. The camera, proximity sensor and wraps around the home button. I haven't tested it with other cases besides the ringke slim case and it is just fine. I'm guessing it should be fine with others as well. There is no portion of the front glass exposed with this on except for this home button and the ear speaker.

Yes, all the way to the edge. It has a black border around the edges so if there is any halo effect, you cannot see it. I've tested it with both the Ringke Fusion and Slim case and it's not pushing the screen protector up. I imagine some cases may lift the protector.
Thanks, just ordered one.

My guess is this will get pushed up just as much as the other full cover edge to edge screen protectors from Nikllin, UTLK, & Collreall, since it still goes to the edge of the phone. I cannot imagine this one is any thinner than the others to not cause problems.
For the Spigen Neo Hybrid, I think you are stuck with the screen protectors that only cover the screen and not to the edge, or the PET protectors.
Blooody marvellous!!

My guess as well. It does wrap all around the phone and the glass is edge to edge unlike others. It may lift with other protectors who have a lip around the screen. Its a great protector and wanted to share with everyone here since we are all looking for one that covers the whole front glass and this is it.

Using a case or going naked?

Using a case or going naked?
So I was wondering if anyone else prefers to use their Honor 8 without a case. I usually have at least a case if not a screen protector as well, on my primary device. I really like the feel of the Honor 8 without a case so I've been using it like that. What about you: case, screen protector, both or none?
I just got my Honor 8 on Monday evening, so I haven't received the case and screen protector that I ordered yesterday. However, I found an Honor 8 TPU case at Best Buy that I picked up until the better one arrives.
I would prefer not to have to use a case, but with a glass phone I'm always leery about dropping and cracking it. With a lot of my older phones, I wasn't nearly as concerned. If you drop a plastic or metal phone, you probably won't shatter the entire thing.
I wish LifeProof would make a case for the Honor 8. Then I could at least have a fairly heavy duty case but still be able to see (most) of the beauty of the phone.
use a clear case for protection, its slippery and you dont want to drop it and smash the glass
If you can afford buying another one don't use anything.....what i did when i got mine was applying the tempered glass and case before even opening the phone
Actually, I'm using both. Found a chinese TGSP in amazon and a orzly clear case. If it weren't for those my phone probably would be shattered after the last fews falls it has had :S
I go naked indoors and cover up outdoors. I do the same with the phone.
I put mine into a leather wallet type case.
I love the phone and how it looks but I thought I was gonna break it, it looks so breakable so for me and my life I had to give it full protection.
It might not look nice during daytime hours but at least i know it's still like new inside !

Ther's no different between when the back its covered by the glass but it's more safety from the scratches because back cover is full covered by the glass
Using the official flip case here. Works great.
Matte screen protectors on both sides = much less slippery.
Transparant silicon case to make it less slippery
I use the View Cover, but just until I get curved tempered glass for front and back in the mail - I hate using a case, but with that slippery back I can't trust it not to slip of sandpaper on a level table.
I don`t use screen protector but I use the blue pc case on blue honor 8 it is very thin (It almost protects nothing but at least it covers the glass back) phone still looks shinny.

Hi,
I've ordered last week a NGP Pure Case for my white PH1 last week. Question is : I saw on Amazon that it won't fit with tempered glasss like orzero. I don't have orzero tempered glass, I have this one : https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Sc...74582&sr=1-1&keywords=lamshaw+essential+phone that NOT covers edges.
So do you think Pure Case will be fine for me ?
Thanks for your future answers.
I think you will be fine. The case only covers a very tiny area of the screen, enough to protect it but also to lift most screen protectors. From the amazon image and the fact that I use that incipio case I am like 90% sure that screen protector wont lift

looks like you got an all area adhesive screen protector which lifts off at the curved screen edges. Since it's already slighty lifted off at the edges I think there is no problem putting the Incipio on. The Incipio case is a problem for screen protectors which only have adhesive at the very edge, specifically at the top of the screen where the camera cutout is located. It will push and lift the adhesive off and since there is no other adhesive further down, the screen protector pretty much lifts all the way up. You then have a "clicking" sound when you tap onto that area (the adhesive will temporarily stick and then pop off when you let go).
Your screen protector is not perfectly centered and you may have small issues at the top and the bottom right where it comes close to the edge. Maybe you can re-center it.

I can vouch for this one. It fits great with my Tudia TAMM case. It's a TPU just like the Skinomi and IQ but a dry install. You peel off a small horizontal strip at the top to expose the adhesive. Position it starting at the top and then bend it a little to start separating the rest of the backing and start pushing your way down the screen so the backing comes off completely at the end. It's really grippy at first but that will pass as you use your phone. Since it is a TPU it will develop marks on it over time if you're not careful so be careful installing when trying to push out bubbles or whatever. I used a credit card wrapped in microfiber cloth and pushed out the bubbles before removing the top protective film. If you have bubbles that won't easily work out they will disappear after a few hours.
Best option so far IMO. I had the Delta Shield TPU before and the TAMM case push up the corners and edges.

If you look at your picture your screen is already lifted off at the edges (read my previous post). So it is probably not a big deal
Hope you're right
But what do you mean by lifted ? My tempered should put off by itself with time ?

look carefully at the picture you took. I had this with all my curved screen phones. the lighter edge you see is where the screen protector is not attached. If you have not noticed it yet then I'm afraid I just ruined your enjoyment with it.
sorry
Mine lift the tempered glass. Unless they make one a little smaller I don't think it will work.
I think I am going to just go with the Incipio case and nothing more. The screen seems more responsive.

Should've went with the DualPro from Incipio. I just got a black one and not only is it the highest quality case I've seen for the device but it fits just fine with Orzero TGP on.
EDIT: Felt as though I should add a caveat that applied to me, likely applies to a lot of folks having issues trying to use a case and screen protector simultaneously. You really need to nail the placement of the screen protector in order to prevent case interference, when centered as perfectly as is reasonable I have not encountered any issues with lifting but it did take two attempts to hit the sweet spot. You're much more likely to encounter lifting if the screen protector is favoring one side even slightly, so those guide stickers that you tend to want to chuck actually come in very handy when trying to get the placement just right.
