I do not have the ZenFone3Ultra but have the Huawei P8 Max which I am selling if anyone is interested to get the ZenFone 3 Ultra. On to your question: I think this would be a very risky thing to attempt on the phone because it could damage the sim contact pins. However, I know that unlike the P8Max this phone uses nano sim slots so potentially, if the phone is fully disassembled a study of the sim/sd slot could be made to either trim the sim card to fit along the sd or on top of each other. Again this would require some sacrifices.
Here is my other theory that could potentially resolve this issue and I am going to try this when I get the Zenfone 3 Ultra: Buy a dual sim Bluetooth adaptor and wirelessly connect to your phone to activate the dual sim(the second sim or even a third sim) and keep he sdcard inside the second slot that way your phone becomes Triple sim. I have one already and there is many versions of these adapters with really small sizes. I have used one before and it was a perfect operation but on a Xperia Z Ultra and all simcards (triple) operate on standby so need to switch on demand.
Ohhh. Here we go again, I have another solution that I have tried with Samsung Phones and I will try with the Zenfone 3 Ultra when I sell my P8 Max: goto magicsim (search on google) and grab yourself a dual sim 4g compatible adaptor and simply slide the sim contact plate into the sim2 slot with the microsd card sitting on top of it and the circuitry will stick out of the phone but if you use a non-transparent case this would hide it but this method gives you dual sim on demand as you would have to use the automatically enabled simtoolkit app from your app drawer to activate he sim slot. Also, sim1 slot can be used but whilst using the 2nd sim via the app your sim1 will temporarily disable until you finish your use on sim2 via the adapter.
And finally, here is a stupid suggestion(NOT REAL-DO NOT TRY AT HOME) that someone came up with on their iphone 7 to bring back the 3.5mm jack. Watch the video below and get your DIY skills tested and get some NOT SO REAL/DANGEROUS inspiration:

Thank you AWFRONT for the reply, I may need to wait for you once you got a zenfone 3 ultra, i did try to create the mod and failed, sometimes it stucks or wont fit, and did destroyed many sim cards. I will also look for the dual sim adapters you mentioned, wish we have that one here in PH, anyways, thank you for the advice.

yes,you could do it by extend cable combined microsd and SIM together. I am very happy using this PHONE now.

Hi! I still have not got the ZenFone 3 Ultra as I find the current prices ridiculously expensive and will look to get it in the next 2 weeks hopefully and will use my MagicSim dual sim 4g adapter on it to experiment with full dual sim and microsd. I will update the thread with my findings. My P8 Max DAV-701L Titanium Grey is still for sale if anyone is interested.

I just found a similar on amazon, the cable is a lot bigger(12cm), but it works the same way. This should work on other phones too.

I've combined the sim and microsd card. I used double-sided tape, rather than glue + using a mini industrial file brought the thickness of the SD card to its bare minimum. I lost x2 16gb sd cards and x2 sim cards in the process (+ quite a few hairs). If you are inclined to do this, I'd really recommend practicing and kind of perfecting it gradually. It's highly risky, but worth it. I now have an additional 200gb storage (SanDisk 200gb), on top of the standard 64gb. I've almost got the perfect phone now. I tried the sim extender cable method, which also works. But I kept losing signal strength. Maybe due to the hard case cutting into the cable (I'm not sure what big fan of the soft cases).

My Ultra 3 slows down & has a somewhat jerky UI if i use 2 sims plus an SD Card with the help of the Sim extender. Does it happen to your phone too?

Problem: My new phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) uses a Micro SIM. But I still want to run my old G2 or even the G1 as spare/backup phones. For when I go somewhere I don't want risk damaging the new phone. Once I move my account over to the Micro SIM, the old full size SIM will be dead.
The T-Mobile guys at the store said they would re-program a full size SIM from a micro size SIM, but I don't want to have to go down to their store just to do that!
And cutting a full size SIM down to a Micro size SIM isn't going to help me go back and forth.
I know it's only a buck for this particular adapter, but I don't want to wedge something into my G2 that's going to not work and mess it up. That's why I'm asking if anyone has had any good or bad experiences dealing with this yet.
Well the SIM slot is basically quite simple there's real nothing to snag onto as you're just making sure to face the contacts towards the phones contacts and just sliding past them. With no vertical room to move (only horizontal in and out that has next to no wiggle room) I double very much you could actually damage the phone with said adapter.
This however concerns me: "Simply cut the GSM sim card to fit the adapter (please make sure you do not cut the metal contact.)"... if you go thru with it, I recommend using a razor blade like in those house blade assemblies, instead of scissors.
For a free micro sim adapter, order a giffgaff sim below as it comes as a microsim inside a normal sim so you can either use the new sim or use it as a template to cut your old sim to size.

When i went to t-mobile to get a replacement sim (the old one started to bow and didnt always make contact) they duplicated it for me, and gave me both the old one and the new one, saying if it ever stopped working right that the old one would work still. Why not got ask for a new one? then you have two sims that are functional, you can have one full size and one micro ?
i know you want to avoid the store but it might be a simpler solution
I use a micro sim card in my desire z without any adaptors. I just slot it in where a normal sim should be and it works.
But it's a bit fiddly

I've read in different forums that people are having problems with a nano to micro sim adapter with their Note 3.

Fair enough. Personally I'd recommend just getting your nano sim replaced by your network. It's worth doing, my Note is back from repair due to a sim adaptor stripping out the contacts. Now , if that happens and Knox has been tripped ,forget your warranty repair which they honoured for me.
Go to your network , be safe. Forget sim adaptors.
My operator doesnt have a mini sim for my plan. Its a 2in1 plan. 2 phone numbers in 1 sim. They only have regular size, which doesnt support 4G and nano size which supports 4G. So no options for me!

I understand . Once it's in then, leave it alone, wouldn't recommend removing it unless you really need too.
Hey guys, I'm looking for the best SIM card adapter that won't actually get stuck in ANY phone. Just about everyone of them I've seen gets stuck, and the one I have now got stuck in my Xperia Play.
I wanted to know if such an item exist? I don't care how much I have to pay, as long as it's a quality item.

I too have experienced this issue as all the adapters I purhcased online to use with devices in the past that needed an adapter either didn't fit or got stuck in the device. The irony is that the best fitting SIM adapters are the ones you get when you buy a new SIM card. Try buying a PAYG SIM with that is a micro SIM and they usually come fitted in a small adapter with a bit of sticky tape holding them in. Carefully pop the SIM out and put yours in and it should work better as they are the same thickness as the original SIM card.
I just received my unlocked A9 this afternoon. I had planned to cut down my AT&T SIM from my M7 to fit the A9, but I read in the instructions specifically to *not* do that. Is that really a concern? Do I need to go out and get myself a specific SIM card or can I safely cut down my M7 SIM and use it in the A9?

I'm always cutting my sim cards when I need to, they ask you not to cut it because you might break it or take off the metal slide by mistake
I don't know about at&t but if it cost a lot to have new sim card try to cut it and if you fail you can buy new one anyway
you can look in amazon for sim cards cutter which will help you to cut it sharply.
I cut the sim cards by scissor when I need

Thanks. I ended up giving it a try (with a SIM cutter). Unfortunately it didn't work. I went to the AT&T store this morning and they took care of me for no cost.

That's too bad it didn't work out. I have an an older cut SIM that I use in mine and it works OK.
I use cut sims all the time, only danger I see is you don't know what you are doing, flake of metal falls off and shorts, jams slot etc. Basically, and I get it, there is more chance for the average user to screw something up, so they don't want you to do it! Not that it wont work.
I have a phone on order (HTC 10) that takes a Nano SIM (4FF). My current HTC One (M7) has a Micro SIM (3FF), but looking at it, it appears as though a nano SIM (4FF) could be broken out from the Micro SIM (3FF), much in the way that many mini-SIM cards (2FF) can "break out" to become a Micro SIM (3FF).
Does this sound possible? I hope it's not too confusing how I have tried to posit the question. I'd like to be able to transform the micro SIM to a nano SIM when the new phone arrives without going to the T-Mobile Store.

I don't think you can because with a micro SIM the contacts come almost completely to the edge, trying to go smaller would compromise the contact area. Go to the store, there's a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things, engineering an alternate solution is only necessary when none already exist, in your case, alternatives exist.

Take your chances and trim a micro SIM to nano size but I'll wager you'll have issues and have to get a proper nano SIM anyway. The correct SIM shouldn't cost you anything from your carrier if you're paying for cell service on their network. Why complicate it?
