Any 22mm band! - Samsung Gear S3

I have already ordered 3 bands for the Gear S3, since it will take any 22mm band. 2 are Barton with quick release bands, and the other was a black Milanese stainless steel band, all from Amazon are very low prices. I want the Frontier due to cell phone capabilities, but either watch will let you customize with 3rd party bands, so get crazy and get some color ready for your S3 life!

Not sure about that, but all reports say it will take any 22 mm, so I assume they fit correctly. Will have to see what you mean my "to the edges", as I didn't notice that yet. Thanks.

Does this mean ANY 22 mm bands? I'm not familiar with watch bands which is why I'm asking. So I could just go pick up a 22 mm band and it doesn't have to say (for gear s3) and it would fit?

Yes, any 22mm watch band will work. Samsung actually didn't go with proprietary straps like the previous generation.

Awesome! I'll be doing a lot of searching on bands after I get this.

I got a few quick release silicone watch bands by MoKo - search Amazon - they are really great quality available in different finishes and colours
eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MECM0JH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

any 22mm should work
I've just got my frontier delivered in the uk and the plastic strap that comes with it is a bit ****. I've just put a standard 22mm leather strap I bought off ebay on it and very happy with the results.

Stingray Skinned 22mm Watch Bands
Recently went shopping for Stingray Skinned Watch Bands and Double Release Butterfly Clasps. I've found a couple bands that weren't too expensive (under 100+ USD). If anyone is interested I can provide a few links.

Ordered that for mine since I like the metal / stainless steel look.

I ordered & received this Milanese loop strap from Amazon.
Rerii 22mm Magnetic Milanese Loop Stainless Steel Band Strap with Quick-Release Pins for Moto 360 2 46mm / Samsung Gear 2,Gear 2 Neo,Gear 2 Live / LG G Watch R W100, Urbane W150 / Pebble Time Steel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F54LFP4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JT5lybRWFJDZ8
I used the same strap on the Gear S2 and it was my favorite

The stock strap has the quick release pin. Will standard pins work on the watch for regular watch straps?

I ordered this one as well and it came in not having the edges covering the lugs of the watch. I have been back and forth with Moko all night and they said they do not produce what is pictured in the listing. I finally gave up and just got a refund. At least they have pretty quick customer service. The first picture below is that I ordered and the second is what I received in. They stated that all their bands were like the second one. Honestly it just felt cheap. I think I will look into swapping the band from my Suuto Core and see how it does.

Yes, I've put a 2 piece NATO strap on and it works fine. I suggest you pick up a watch strap tool, it's basically a very small fork designed specifically to manipulate springbars (that's what their actually called).

If you want to match the stock band you'll want a 22mm lug with 24mm shoulders to cover the ends of the lug. If you search for a Bell & Ross style strap it should be what your looking for. Also Casio G-Shock might return something as well. The other option is to buy a 24mm lug and cut it down to 22mm but you'll also need slightly narrower springbars.

The metal strap can be detached for sure... Instructions are shown on the user guide... My only issue is the strap is a bit big for me and there ?is no way to adjust it like the other straps?

It is detachable, as per manual, which you'll find here:
http://www.sonymobile.com/us/support/accessories/smartwatch-2-sw2/support-documents/
10 of the 7-7.5 mm wide joints can be removed. I removed 4 and I got a girly 17 cm circumference wrist. It had been so long since last time, that I didn't remember how to take metal straps of this type apart, so I used below video. I find her voice quite annoying, but it's some solid instructions :good:

Hi guys, I have a question about metal strap. Is it heavy on your wrist? If you have ever used Diesel metal strap watches can you compare to them? I live in USA but I am thinking to buy from Amazon.co.uk with metal strap and price is cheaper than USA price.
I've just got a SW2 with the metal strap but i could do with some extra links but after contacting Sony Support they don't sell them
Has anyone come across any?

i wouldnt say that its HEAVY really, but u can feel the weight, it feels solid, what i've learned tho is that i gets cold easily (of course it does, its metal) and getting it adjusted to your size is annoying, i'll be buying a silicon wristband soon.

Thanks for answer. Actually I have bought metal strap version from Amazon.co.uk 3 weeks ago. For me, it is not heavy at all. I am used to wear Diesel brand ceramic strap watches and they are much way heavier than this watch. Overall, I am happy with my watch
I just got my new metal band. I had the OEM Sony band but it was a link or two too small. This one fits GREAT and looks awesome. It's the 24mm type ii engineer band from Strapcode. I sold my metal Sony band for $100 on eBay.
I've gotten A LOT of compliments so far.

You can't buy the OEM Sony metal bands anywhere. A lot of people purchased the rubber versions with the expectation of being able to pick up a metal band on the cheap. But, they soon learned that a GOOD 24mm metal band is pricey. The closest you can get to the OEM band is the Strapcode Bandolier model #SS242413BBK027 which sells for $190. I got mine for $150, well $50 if you subtract what I sold my OEM band for.

Leather Wristbands!

Hi, I was considering to buy a leather wristband for the SW2. I saw the original Sony's leather bands in some sites, are they of good quality? I was wondering if somebody has purchased some other cool leather bands from amazon or other sites
I bought a nice Italian leather wrist band at a watch stand at the mall. Much more comfortable and adjustable.

Not sure where you would be getting the Sony strap from but the official Sony ones seem to be out of stock everywhere for me here in the UK, Amazon have had my order in since 27th November and they said it'd be delivered this week, now they have no stock and cannot tell me when it's coming back. So like Qosmokid says, it might be best to go shopping for a nice strap and find your own style, as oppose to waiting for the Sony strap to come into stock.

Yes, the official strap is out of stock on Sony's official site and on Amazon also here in Italy... But i've found it on mobilefun (both on english and italian site) and they say that the item is "due in stock today"... However it's kind of stupid that the official accessories for the SW2 are nowhere to be found!
If somebody has purchased around the web other leather bands it would be nice to share pics and links to help each other Thank you!!

Mobilefun is someone I've dealt with a number of times before and they're a good place to shop from. If you take a look in the accessores thread there are a few people sharing their bands. As for myself I bought a fairly inexpensive leather strap to fill the game while I wait for the official one but now, I think I will go out and buy something a little more "high-end" so to speak. As the band is a standard 24mm fit, you could do worse than shopping around for your own strap

I switched the rubber band with a Fossil brown leather watch strap. It's pricey but it's worth it, looks better than the one offered by Sony.
I bought this one and it fits great, its inexpensive, has a build quality of something 3 times the price and it absolutely looks great on the watch.. I have had many compliments and people did not even know it was a smart watch.

Weird, I am on an IDC (IT market analyst firm) webinar on mobility trends in 2014, and they are talking about wearables and smartwatches. They predict a wearable will launch that will sell more units than Apple and Samsung. Not a huge leap, since Pebble probably already sells more and folks are anticipating new launches from small firms (HOT) and large (Google). But the funny thing is that the slide being presented shows a Sony smartwatch.

Ok I've received it today... If you want my opinion it's not worth 25 Euros... I mean it is very simple and smooth and more comfortable than the original metal band which is quite heavy, but the plastic square of the band (sorry for my bad english, I don't know the proper name for that ) seems too big... In conclusion it looks good but a little bit cheap and doesn't feel elegant as the metal band. But I think it is a matter of taste anyways. I've done a few pictures for those who want to take a look... Here's the link https://www.dropbox.com/sh/32e7trrtg5p14rd/Nd3Vfvcj6x
SE20 Sony Brown leather Wrist Strap
Today i bought an original Sony Brown Leather Wrist Strap. The look of the belt is very elegant and overall the belt seem strong and is made of genuine leather!
I've added a few pictures:

Finally! A decent case that works with the OEM wireless charging back!

My turn to give back since I have read A LOT about this subject on here. I might even do a review if I have the time!
I bought the Incipio Dual Pro Shine case, for my Galaxy S5 with the WIRELESS CHARGING BACK. As we all know by now it is next to impossible to find a case that fits this phone with the Wireless charging. I contacted all of the major case manufacturers and they don't know anything about their products. I went to the AT&T store(after going to VZN, Sprint, Tmobile and many other stores in the mall, I hate AT&T!) and went through ALL of their cases and nothing, not pelican, otter, lifeproof, spigen, belkin etc etc and came upon this case. I had never heard of this brand since I loved the otterbox commuter cases. It was love at first sight. It is identical to the Otterbox commuter case except that it fits!
I have the Diztronic on it's way which I will be returning since it isn't of the best quality.
Since I will never buy another product from AT&T again after they throttled my account after being the highest priced provider and me being a loyal customer for over 10 years and having an unlimited data plan, I went home and checked online for it. Best buy had it for $17 (AT&T had it $40) so I ordered it to the nearest store, no in-store. I went yesterday to the store to pick it up and it fits perfectly and charges ofcourse! It is a dual case, rubber on the inside and hard shell on the outside. I haven't dropped it yet but it feels safe enough for me.
cant upload pics directly, sorry
Please fell free to ask any questions.
Interesting...I hadn't tried it myself but I asked a couple of stores and they said that this case would not work. I'm happy to hear that it does because this was my favorite case for my S3.
Do you have the Qi or the Powermat charging back? I know most people go Qi but I got Powermat since Starbucks will be supporting that soon

I think the official/main one is Qi only. See here: https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EP-CG900IBUSTA
The one AT&T sells is Powermat. Unless they really do support both formats and only advertise one.

Coincidently today I had to exchange it for a new one since every morning I would wake up and have the orange light blinking even though it would be fully charged. I read here or on ac that someone had the same problem.

The Incipio case should be delivered today and I'll let you know how it works for me.
,please post some pics
Ok, I bought the Incipio DualPro, not the DualPro Shine, because I wanted more grip. The DualPro has a more rubbery outer layer than the DualPro Shine.
But it's too thick for charging
I wasn't able to get the wireless charging to work after fiddling with it for 15 minutes. I'll send this one back and try the Shine.
I was told by incipio that there isn't a difference. I thought the shine wouldn't charge and they told me that it really doesn't matter.
I had to return another Sammy mini charger since it would blink orange every morning and never be completely charged in the morning. Hopefully this one will not be defective like the last two.

So I pre-ordered the non classic 44mm watch4 and I'm curious about what watch band size would fit it. I already purchased one on Amazon that claims to fit 44mm Samsung watches (older ones) hoping that's correct but I don't see any specs for it. Any help?
All models of the GW4 have 20mm bands. Up to the 46mm Classic they all have the same size. Unlike the predecessor GW3 (which had 22mm on the larger models).

Wait, really? Uh oh. I ordered a 22mm band. AMAZON PLEASE CANCEL LOL
btw: here the "(un)official" confirmation:
In this review (where I don´t understand the language, but video is nice and clear) he has a 46mm Classic and at 3:51 you can see the 20mm pressed in the backside of the strap.

I can confirm I just got the GW4 classic 46mm and it has a 20mm band
All Watch4 have 20mm bands, no difference the size of the actual watch, band is 20mm

So annoying. I guess I'll have to throw in the two stainless steel bands (which I really like) I bought for the GW3 when I sell it.

Hey it could be worse. Everytime I've turned around for new smart watches I've included the band I bought with it simply because I don't know if I'll need it again but since I get them off Amazon for under $10 each I'm not too concerned about it.

Yeah, except I had about $75 in protectors and bands that I really liked.
Nothing overly special about the metal bands, and I'm sure I'll be able to get identical for the GW4 in a month or two.
Galaxy Watch 4 Band Size: They All Take 20mm Bands
The Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic pre-orders are still open and no watches have shipped yet. As those do, or if you are considering a pre-order, you may decide that the included band with each is going to need to be swapped out. If you watched our unboxing, you definitely know that I...

There was a reddit post on the 11th that said Samsung confirmed 20mm for the smaller and 22mm for the larger models, but it has since been corrected to all 20mm. I guess the uncertainty is cleared up! Cheers
You don't need to guess My GW4 Classic 46 has 20mm. And if the largest one has 20mm, the smaller will also.
I had to order a new 20mm band, as was expecting my gw3 bands to work, but nope... So yeah make sur you order 20mm bands
the width is 20mm, but you can choose the length
there are 2 sizes: S/M and M/L
according to my experience with the active2 and the watch4 by default you get a M/L unless specifying differently
the image is in italian but it's pretty self explanatory
Eh, not too happy with the larger size watch being 20mm... I have several bands, and I use all of them. All 22mm... I just bought a couple too for my Ticwatch 3 pro. Ugh, I guess they'll just go with the watch when I sell it.
Could always get some 20mm pins and snip the edges of the bands down. Did it on one of the bands I have that I like a lot.

Question Galaxy Watch 4 44mm looks terrible with 20mm straps

Wasn't a fan of the rubber strap that came with the Galaxy Watch 4, mainly because of the gaps when on the wrist, so i bought myself a good quality leather strap.
But because of the 20mm fitting the strap looks to thin on the watch, & looks kinda silly what do you think?

Looks good to me. What is you issue?
You might want to try looking for a corner notched band (like the stock strap is} so it's a bit wider where it meets the watch. You'll want something that fits 20mm lugs but then is 24mm wide where the strap goes past the lugs so it looks flush with the outside of the lugs. I've been looking for a black steel band like this and can't find anything... For leather it may actually be easier to just get a 24mm strap and carefully cut notches yourself to fit the 20mm width.

Do you have one of these? I have had some bad experiences with AliExpress in the past. Silicon and leather for $6.00? I'm thinking this has zero chance of being real leather. I like the look of them though.

Damn - I just ordered one yesterday too, but it will take weeks to arrive here - how did you get yours to arrive so quickly? Grateful if you would please post some pics and your thoughts once you get it. Of course, there are the Samsung original hybrid leather bands too: https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...c-hybrid-leather-band-s-m-red-et-shr88sreguj/
Yea I had to order a new metal wristband because I couldn't use my old one from my Watch 1 since it was 22mm. The metal ones look thin as well compared to the big watch. Aren't there metal wristbands with the small 20mm fitting but are 22mm wide like the silicone ones?

D'oh! My mistake - I thought you were referring to the strap on AliExpress mentioned above, which is the one I ordered. Still, look forward to your feedback on your strap when you get it - thanks!
This sport band from Samsung also looks kinda cool (too bad everything appears to be out-of-stock though): https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...reme-sport-band-s-m-black-red-et-sxr86sbeguj/
Okay here's the picture, it fits for sure doesn't feel premium (was only $10 so I understand). But it looks better than the original to me at least

Thanks! When i receive the band from AliExpress I'll do the same, although I'm not expecting much for that price either.

It fits well but as it's still brand new maybe it'll relax a bit but it is shorter than the included band. Right now its either too tight, or just a little too loose

Because i went with the 44mm the strap doesn't look right it gives it the look of a big head on a skinny body if you know what i mean.
24mm would have been perfect & maybe we see 24mm leather straps etc with 20mm fitting, designed for the Galaxy Watch 4 become much more common & easier to get hold off in the next few months.
I've now sent the leather strap back to Amazon & put the original rubber strap back on, until i can get hold of a 20mm fitting on a 24mm strap I'll just put up with the original strap until then.
I bought these for my GW4 44mm, they are very nice considering the price...

I am satisfied with watch4 classic 46mm with 20mm bands.
I also have previously a Galaxy Watch 46mm which still gives me 4 day life compared to 2 days on watch4 and for the love of tizen watchfaces.
Its good to see developers like Matteo Dini converting therefaces for watch4 as well.
And i have Smaller wrists thats why ti feel the 20mm band makes the watch4 classic 46mm look slimmer
on my wrist compared with my old 46mm bigger band watch .

I have to say that I agree. I was not pleased with the junky band that came with my watch and when I got a nylon replacement because I wanted something that I would get wet and my wrist tends to sweat with silicon, I thought wow does this look thin for a guy's wrist I liked the bands for my GW3 much better...

Absolutely agree. I changed bands twice - each looks puny for a watch this size. Watch 3 was much better proportioned.

Hi, may I ask, are all the functions on the Matteo Dini watch face works flawlessly ? I tried 2 of their watch faces, found that the it cannot display info like heart rate despite granted the required permission.
