Click to collapse
Start-settings-sounds-sounds and notifications
Then navigate to sms notification and change to your desired sound
(sound file must be placed in Windows directory)
Hope it helped,

Thanks, but that doesn't work, I already tried that...
However I just found out using a Reg editor that the Outgoing SMS/MMS sound is being overruled by the general notification sound. So now I changed the general sound, it is working
Where did you change the general notification sound?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Notifications\Default

Ringggggg. then Vibrate & Ring

There used to be a setting :
Increasing Ring, then Vibrate and Ring. This was done on 1
custom ROM for the Universal , like 4 years ago.
Does anyone have tips on how to get our device to :
Ringggg...then Vibrate & Ring, or even better
Increasing Ring, then Vibrate and Ring.
Not sure if this is it but.....
GOTO> Settings 'tab'
MENU (bottom right in taskbar)
All Settings
Sounds and Notifications
Notifications
Then it's the (familiar) 'Ring Type' drop down with the traditional windows options (no idea if it works/over-rides though)
It's not enabled per default
This menu doesn't have those options, they have to be created
by someone who knows what he/she is doing.
I've seen this hack before, but can't find it.
How does one hack the possible ringtone variations to inlude
inicreasing ring, then vibrate and ring ?
Lucid, have you find the way how to set the ring type you were looking for?
Thanks

[Q] Link Ringtone and Notification Volume

Is there any way to link the ringtone and notification volumes, including root methods?
The answer is... gravitybox! In case anyone was wondering.

[Q] anyway to link notification an ringer volume?

i want notification and ringer volume to be one and the same
is there anyway to do that?
or is it just another one of those features samsung removed?
There is an app called Simple Volume that I used on my Note 3 that linked the two. It works pretty good.
Phone won't let me post a link, but if you Google search it you should find out easy.

Separate ring and notification volumes?

Is there a way (an app?) to separate the ring volume from the notification volume? I want it to ring loud (so I hear it in my pocket) but I don't want notifications to be loud (as they are irritating).
Cheers
Alan
There's an app called 'Sound profile' which seems to be able to do this. I'm testing it out.
Alan
Use Renovate Ice ROM if you're rooted. It's a Magisk Module
I'm not rooted and cannot as my banking apps won't work if I do.
Sound profile app doesn't separate the ring from the notification volume for me. Tad frustrating but sure there will be a solution somewhere

What version of Android and which country is your phone from? I'm on the latest (11.0.6.6 and it's a UK (EU) phone).
