I'm amazed at the lack of official accessories for the launch.
Then again, look what happened to best buy/target.
I guess we will just have to wait...

I received mine. Haven't installed it yet. But it's in my grubby little hands. Mobilefun VERY early order.

Ok, installed.
Fits better than many of the aftermarket ones based on what I've seen for reviews. Sides are curved already, little cutouts at the corners so they don't pull up.
After several hours of bubblepushing, I've got it almost perfect. I also think letting it get nice and heated up on the wireless charger helped, tho one of the sides still has some bubbles and the curved screen makes it really tough to push them out. They get shoved around. I suspect all would have similar issues.
it feels less rubbery than say a Zagg, not as smooth as glass. The curves do NOT make it easier to install but if you take your time, and have plenty of patience, it should go fine.
Inside the box, you get 2 screen protectors, a 2 inch square microfiber cloth and some dust removal stickers. No cleaner, no instructions but the case had nice foam padding.... It does not state wet or dry install. I went with dry.
I scrapped the stickers and mf cloth and used real cleaner and a much bigger microfiber cloth. Also got my bathroom all steamy to clear dust particles because there's nothing more OCD than a big piece of lint under your screen.
Now, you're going to want to know if it'll work with cases. Here's the rub. I only have the official S-VIEW case and it seemed to be fine there, didn't push up the sides "YET".
I've had it out of the case for HOURS after the install and just put it in 10 minutes ago.
Samsung got the fit nearly perfect, not unexpected. It is their device.
It's NOT the cheapest one out there and it seems rather hard to find for now, but so far, I'm "ok" with it. Time will tell.
I'll post at a later date/time if the sides start pushing up or the remaining bubbles don't get worked out. I cannot test it with any other case as I almost always use the s-view one.

"Buy Used" :')
I think you can get them for CA from the same website, from what I gather everything is shipped from the UK anyway.
Edit: Yup, found it: http://ca.mobilefun.com/official-samsung-galaxy-note-7-screen-protector-60374

Is there an orange-peel effect on this original Samsung screen protector? Since it's a bit rubbery like Zagg.

No orange peel effect, it's not like the original Zagg, more like the HD one. Feels like hard plastic and not glass tho.
followup notes.
Still attached to the sides fine. Have taken the phone in and out of the sview case several times now to put in the Gear VR. Not once has it pushed up the sides.
The remaining bubbles have worked their way out now. I switched tips on my spen as suggested and it feels fine.
I think it's a keeper. Plus they give you 2 so I have a spare for when/if I tear this one up.

What tip you did you switch too? I got my screen protector on the way.

The white one felt the best. YMMV.

Hmmm, I dunnooo.......
I have serious doubts about this being actual OEM. But if it works, HEY, why not (key takeaway)....been trying to get this since before release. If China can make Burberry bags that are identical to their "genuine" counterparts well then........
Anyway, if the ones from "Mobile Fun" really are OEM, I am curious to know how they got them, seeing as though Samsung themselves haven't started selling this item yet.
I think the design is ingenious, with the corner niches to allow for adherence to the beveled corners and curved sides.
---------- Post added at 03:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:11 AM ----------
I should add that I'm using an IQ Shield. First one was total garbage, they sent a replacement, just applied the replacement they sent me (looks like it might be a winner, though it's curing now so will update with results.
Requires extreme patience, minimal spray and a hairdryer but it IS possible. Sorry to take off track.
Waiting for OEM SP's to be made available in the States.

UPDATE* Second IQ Shield is better, and let me tell you, I followed the instruction video, and card perfectly, BUT, the edges are starting to lift again.
Ordered the (as advertised) OEM Screen Protector from MobileFun.com ... So this will have to do for now, until the Samsung one comes in.
And lastly, I see everyone blaming the manufacturers of screen protectors, they are all garbage, because it's near impossible getting the curved edges and beveled corners to stay down, even with a wet install.
The Note 7 has a sharp curve, as opposed to a slight arch (like on previous Samsung curved screens), hence it is that much harder to keep down.

Plasti Dipped Battery Cover

For those of you who don't like how your phone feels, but do not want a cover, here is a wonderful solution. I bought a can of "plastic dip" online and sprayed my cover. It feels wonderful. Mine looks a bit inconsistent, but if you apply the right amount of coats yours could look better. It is also very thin and removable. All you have to loose is he cost of the rattle can.

Many people have tried it, but in the end, it will start peeling off within a day or two, especially since the phone is often take in and out of pockets, where the corners of the cover is stressed, the rubber will come off. And that was after 4-5 coats.
It does feel amazing though, I just wish it lasted longer than a couple of days.
Best off would be buying a cheap but non-glossy back cover, maybe one that imitates the S4's brushed aluminum style side.
I'm very interested in this. If anyone finds a non glossy battery cover, please let me know!!!

There are plenty of those here in Hong Kong, unfortunately, those are also super slippery, and sometimes they don't even fit all that well. I wish they should just make a rubberized backing with the same grippy materials they make cases with... or I just wish plastidip would last longer...
Just get a full body skin from xtremeguard. I had one on my Note 2 and it eliminated the slippery issues.

If you're interested in those metal covers, do take note that wireless charging does not work through those... in case you plan to install a wireless-charging coil behind it in future.

[VIDEO REVIEW] Ebony Wood Skin from Toastmade for Nexus 6p

This thing is AMAZING! The adhesive on the edges will get lint stuck in your pocket if you don't let it fully dry before messing with it. The 3M adhesive is the best part about the skin, but it's also the worst if you're not careful aligning it. I ripped the corners because it got stuck to the edge & I removed it too slow; this was only stuck for like 10 seconds, if that! Overall awesome skin like the previous ones!
I had thier skin on my HTC one M8 and loved it!
Top notch quality, great customer service and a very nice feel in the heand.
Mind you that when i wanted to take it off it was a B****! Had to keep heating it with a hairdryer and it left a significt amount of adhisive resedue on the phone which i had to use rubbing alchohol to remove.
All in all, worth the money, descent protection and a great look and feel. Just be prepared to when the time comes to remove it...

I've never had issues with residue from the adhesive, I've had these on 4 or 5 devices; maybe more. But I do agree removing it is a PITA!

Have you had them on aluminium (such the the M8) devices? Maybe the the glue sticks harder to certain materials more then others.
It was a visible yellowish glue residue that had to be phisically rubd off. Again, keeping in mind all the benefits to this skin i would definetly use it again, despite the inconvenience of removing it.

For devices that require a stronger adhesive (most aluminum devices do), we found a way to make removal much easier. You can see it at about 1:20 into this iPad install vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW1psEiAeeY
Regardless of the adhesive, if there's any left behind, you should be able to just rub it off using your fingertip. It just rolls up into a ball, and the device looks just as it did prior to Toasting. With the new backing, you shouldn't have any residue left behind whatsoever.

Just wanted to add that we have a "butterfingers" replacement policy; just send us a pic and we'll send another cover. OP's is on the way!
Also, if the cover sticks down to the device and you wish to realign it, just hit that area with the hair dryer and it'll release the adhesive.
Wanted to get Toasted, but I have to use a metal plate between my case and the phone due to having a magnetic phone mount in my car and when I spoke to the fine folks at Toastmade, they couldn't tell me for sure if their product would do well with the plate (mind you this plate is hair-thin and light). Fair enough answer, so decided to just go with a Spigen for now. Too bad because I loved the walnut and ebony combo depicted on their website. Good video, OP, so thanks for posting it.

A thread for your favorite watch straps.

I haven't gotten my S3 yet but when I do i'm going to look for a few straps. Probably pick up a leather strap at the samsung retail store but if anyone has any suggestions feel free to post them here.
I Ordered 3 straps from amazon.
One leather and two metals. They are less than $15 each. Samsung will cost you a lot more.

I just got this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018QHPUG2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I like it, although I don't love the gap between the watch and the band - you can see it in the third picture. I'm not sure if it's going to be different with any other band, but seems like it would look better with just a little thicker band around the connection pin.
I had gotten the V-Moro one, which looked nice, but didn't have the fine adjustment of length at the clasp, just the ability to remove links, which left me either too tight, or too loose.

V-Moro: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG08BY8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Liked it, but no fine adjustment, only link removal, left me too tight or too loose.
Zeiger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018QHPUG2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Had the fine adjustment, but seemed lower quality, and the clasp button started sticking. Hard to get on and off.
Motong: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EPGZ676/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Probably the best looking one (to me), love the clasp, BUT... no fine adjustment - same tight/loose problem
Just got the Otiom: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCY96ZE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Doesn't have the fine adjustment, but happens to fit my wrist perfectly. (Only decided to get it because of the great customer service reviews, and the fact it comes with the link changing kit). They have all been difficult to get the links changed - very tight!! This one is easy with the kit. Didn't realize this one was a matte finish, but it's growing on me. I'm thinking I'll keep this one.
There are thousands of bands on Amazon. I just wanted a black metal, oyster-style band, with the quick-release spring bars. You'd be surprised how hard that is to find in 22mm for our watch!
Do they all have the same problem with the gap? I'm curious about the Motong

Have you seen any band (like black metallic black or ceramic but except silicone ones) where the edges are not parallel from clasp to springs?
I mean, like the original one from the box, which is narrow near the clasp and is starting to grow wider and near the springs is wide enough to be the over the watch "shoulders" (i don't know the name of that watch part in which the spring is attached).

Yeah, they all have a little bit of a gap. I'll post pictures of both - haven't returned the Motong yet. Again, I liked it - it's hard to tell the difference in the pictures (hard to get good lighting without getting a reflection) - but my pet peeve with SS straps is getting the right fit. I can't stand when they slide, and I just couldn't get the Motong the right length.
Otiom
Otiom from above...
I'll post the Motong later when I get home, but I can tell you, the gap is not much different...

No problem. Yeah, you can't really tell in my pictures, but the Motong does have a nice, shiny, deep black, where as the Otiom looks more like the bezel on the watch. But I like it and it fits, so I'm keeping it.
Again, I'll warn you about the difficulty of getting the pins out of the Motong. I was using a hammer with the tool they sent, and the pins wouldn't budge. Broke the tool tip. I emailed them about it, and they told me the tool that comes with it is NOT for getting them out. They said I should be taking it to a jeweler. Just an FYI if you don't already own the proper tool.
Oh yeah, one other thing I should mention - I've seen comments from people that their jeweler charged them $10 - sometimes even $25 - to take the links out for them. That's ridiculous.
My wife took mine into Walmart and told the lady there that she bought it there, and she happily changed it out for her. They don't sell the tool, but it takes two seconds with the correct tool, so I don't feel too bad about the white lie.

No.
If nothing ever comes in contact with your screen except your hand, there's no reason to have a screen protector. The reason most people scratch their screens is because they put them in their pockets with other stuff like coins and keys. If I'm paying $700 or so for a handheld computer, I'm not sticking it in my pocket like it's my spare change.
I use a belt holster most of time. I try not to stick my phone in my pockets, since I keep metal objects like keys on a key chain and coins in my pockets. The few times I do put my phone in my pocket -- like when wearing shorts with elastic band -- I make very sure nothing else is in that pocket. And that's very rarely. The only time I have ever scratched my phone screen (one of the Nexus phones years ago) was the one time I ignored that rule. Learned my lesson.
Yep.
Because if I pay $700 for a handheld computer, I'm going to afford it all the physical protections I would a $700 handheld computer :v
Seriously though, I live in a rural area, where gravel dust - containing quartz, which is harder than the Mohs 6 that the digitizer glass is - is quite abundant.
I had my Droid 4 out on my desk for one day, before the screen protector arrived, and managed to inflict several super-fine scratches just playing with it. One day. Thankfully, my Turbo/Quark came with a Verizon one preinstalled (which itself has received several scratches so far).
Gorilla glass is under stress by design: each scratch is a potential hit to impact resistance. I keep my Quark in a case and plan to continue doing that with whatever I get next, but every bit of added durability on top of that helps.
(amusingly, this is the first phone I've actually felt I needed to protect. my previous phones - aforementioned Droid 4 and an LG Ally - were built like bricks and survived several drops apiece. good ol' keyboard sliders.)
As for which one, well, whichever one gets it right. Apparently nobody has figured out how to make a good one for Samsung's ridiculously-curved screens, but I'm hoping that the lesser-curved digitizer on the v30 will be less of an issue.
I'm not particularly picky about brands, but I will say that if it comes down to getting a rubber film instead, I'll probably get a Skinomi one. It worked pretty well for my pre-Quark phones (though obviously isn't as nice to the touch as glass is).
I got the LG v20 and I order the screen protector after the phone but luckily it came with one pre-installed. I want to the v30 but am in the process of porting the v30 to the v20 and I always recommend a temper glass protection. Why? just because of being human and human error and you never know, somebody could bump you and accidentally dropped it. But to each it owns. $700+ for a phone is a lot, the v20 was $850+, especially if its main purpose is to call and text. That's why I always put cases and screen protector on my mini laptop. But I know myself and I was try to prevent things before it's to late...Better safe than sorry
I plan on getting the V30 (coming from 2015 Moto X Pure) and I always get a screen protector. I don't put my phone in my pockets but always in my belt clip holster. There's times where I have fumbled with my phone and it has fallen or it being on the desk and it takes an accidental tumble or just pure accidental bumping into something.
All my portable electronics have tempered glass i.e. iPads, digital cameras
All it takes is that one lucky drop.
i just bought the Wimaha one from Amazon.. hopefully it fits well
Waiting to see if there's one on it like the V20 had. I still have the one that came with the V20 on it. Had it since it came out. Somehow I suspect the V30 won't have one though as I bet they want to show off that screen.
I went with the GLASS-M one on Amazon. Hoping it works well on the v30. Will post back after it shows up tomorrow.
Edit,
Great protector from what I can tell. Easy to adhere

Is it US amazon ? Did you notice the 2 reviews on amazon about that screen protector ? One is written in 2015 and one in 2016 , AND marked as verified purchase by amazon . LOL I wold rather wait for this one and see

Yeah I did .... honestly tried to find one that looked like the one from Verizon. No idea how amazon let them review it unless it was a different product listing and somehow got updated?
Anyways, easy returns if it doesn’t work. But their other protectors (other devices) looked to get good reviews.
I got this.... LG V30 Screen Protector, Vigeer [ 2 Pack ] [0.3mm, 2.5D] on amazon... it doesn't connect at the rop right edge... sucks.... I hope I can return...
I picked up this same model and I'm not very happy with it. There's a dot grid that's visible when around bright overhead lights (office lighting, sun, etc) and the oleophobic coating does not seem to perform very well. I just placed the screen protector yesterday and I find myself constantly wiping the screen to remove fingerprints.

Full screen protection and case friendly? I hate the ones that don't go side to side cause they are ugly will watching videos and even just using keyboard they add a lip to the side

I bought this as well and it is trash. About every third tap did not register. Very frustrating. I also tried one of the plastic stick on type like I had for my Galaxy S5, but it never kept contact near the curved edge. Still looking for one that isn't crap.
just picked up this one below;
Spigen LG V30 Screen Protector NeoFlex / 2 Pack / Wet Application for LG V30
Wet application type but well see how it goes!
Anybody know about the Qmaddix "liquid glass" stuff. Seems people swear its the greatest or its "snake oil". Verizon Reseller is pushing it hard!

Judging by the reviews it's either deal or really hard to do correctly

This issue of finding a nice screen protector is one of the reasons I'll probably be going back to my g6
Just ordered this one myself. LG V30 Screen Protector (Case Friendly)[2-Pack], Skinomi TechSkin Full Coverage Screen Protector for LG V30 Clear HD Anti-Bubble Film https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073RR5Y2G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dQ.3zbGEHVTDB

Any news on a good screen protector?

Has the note 20 ultra a screen protector?

Did you notice that the Note 20 Ultra has a built in screen protector out of the box?
I won't have mine in hand for a bit over 24 hours from time of this post...
However, I did notice Zach (JerryRigEverything) posed a durability "test" as usual and it appears to have the same type of protection as earlier models starting with the S10 series last year.
how many threads do this forum need about this? take a little time to search and not be so selfish and lazy.

None of the demo models I saw had one, and the review units on YouTube didn't appear to have one either.
But a member here received his early in the United Arab Emirates, and he said it had a factory installed screen protector just like the S20 and the Note 10. On Jerry Rig Everything, Zach showed that it came with a factory installed screen protector as well.
I ordered some screen protectors just in case. You will need them. Gorilla Glass Victus scratches just as easy as previous versions.

Which ones did you order?
It does, but it's extremely thin & I doubt it will be very effective long-term.
Well I got mine today and I cannot see or feel on edge of device if there is one installed. There is no cutout around front facing camera. I have been searching since mine arrived several hours ago and I am finding nothing that says for sure that one is installed.

that makes my decision easy, I left the factory one on my note 10 plus and the fingerprint scanner worked on the first try maybe 70% of the time.
finally took it off as it wore and boom worked on the first try almost always..huge difference.
so i hadn't decided when my 20 ultra came (caved and ordered the 512gb even though black sucks) if Id leave it or ditch it immediately.
I see yes and I see no. Friend of mine called Verizon they said no due to the new Gorilla Glass

I got my phone today and yes it has one. Mine does not however because I took it off. It really does affect the finger print reader.

I find the pre-installed Screen Protectors decent for what they are. I had one on my Wife's S9, S10 and S20 and my Note 9 and Note 10. They seem to last about a year before they start to get bubbles. But short of that no complaints.
Looking the reviews over and it seems the rabid gerbils at Samsung seem to think this phone should sit screen down.
If you put it back down, there's it is pivoting on the cam hump like some misbalanced freak of nature.
Case and screen protector or it will get all beat to hell...
Doubtful I'll upgrade from the Note 10+ in spite of the 20's really cool specs and features.
I expect better, worse all the added off balanced bulk and NO 3.5mm jack. Samsung doesn't listen...
Got mine today and just has the protective film with holes cut out of it for camera and fingerprint sensor. I'm tempted to run it without one lol

Cool.... it looks like great fun
The fact the factory screen protector has a cut out for the fingerprint sensor though is troublesome.
Sand is the biggest screen scratch culprit.
I'd use a wet apply urethane protect like IQ Shield once the factory one wears out which could be many months from now.
Definitely would get a good case that has slightly raised on the ends to protect the screen on flat surfaces.
I use the Bolt on my 10+ and it works very well. However the factory screen protect saved it from a nasty faceplant the 2nd day I had the phone.
Many who run phones like these naked end up replacing cracked screens as there's very little bevel to protect them from corner impacts... my 10+'s favorite landing spot are its case corners or to faceplant.
No reviews yet, the Bolt for the 10+ is excellent. Not sure about the one for the 20 ultra:
https://www.zizowireless.com/produc...axy-note-20-ultra-case?variant=32315584282672
This wet apply soft screen protector works very well although it requires some time to properly install. Edges stay down and if a edge lifts can be sealed back down with touch and a tad of moisture. Have 3 months on my 10 and it still looks great with no scratches.
Compatible with the Bolt.

Installed my Ringke Easy Dual screen protector today, since the US models don't come with one pre-installed.
Love this Ringke screen protector. It's invisible and has no effect on the fingerprint reader at all. Highly recommend it.

Got mine yesterday. And it indeed has a cut off at the camera, so it must be there.
Also my fingerprint scanner seems to be like your 70%. (Identical with my note 10, haha we are the same early adapters.)
So I will pull it off.
Huib
p.s. just pulled it off. It is very thin. I never had scratches on my Note 10, so no worries.
And my fingerprint works 100% now!

Fully agree. Did the same. There is a difference in fingerprints quality however. The older a person gets the worse they get. I tested it with my children.
So if you ar young and beautiful maybe you can leave the screen protector.

Isn't the one installed just a shipping protective film?
Phones used to be packed in a plastic or fabric type cover before putting in the box. These days they aren't and I think the film is just to protect the screen during transit. I believe that because it's just too flimsy to be a proper screen protector.
.
I had left the film over the screen on as it was unnoticeable but removed it after reading this thread.
The finger print sensor is MUCH better now! ?
