PF2 isn't available yet. This is the firmware version right before PF2, so you would need to Odin this, then do a manual update

Just wanted to let you guys know I reflashed my OF7 stock firmware through ODIN and then took the OGA OTA update. I then flashed djvoleur's v6 kernel and the 5.1.1 TWRP through ODIN. Most updated ROM, root, and custom recovery. Everything works fine. The link to the kernel is below.

If you were already rooted you could flash an oe rom plus firmware only. BUT, if you were on that OTA update you couldn't downgrade to root. At least that's the way I think it works. I'm rooted and on og5. I did read though that with either the 5.1 update or marshmallow update that it requires you to update the bootloader, which means og5 is high as we can go and stay rooted. Unless something has changed.

Agreed, except that you can maintain the OD5 bootloader throughout, and still upgrade ROM further. I think? You keep the OD5 bootloader and only upgrade the ROM?
So, currently we stuck in Super Lollipop 5.0 (og5 will be last one, if next one is 5.1) by verizon's locked bootloader..
Anyone can go further, it really good for all of us.
I will be staying with og5 with bod5 bootloader unless someone comes up with a exploit again to root anything after bod5

Out of curiosity, when you food that what version were you on?
I had downgraded to ncg, plugged my phone into the computer and ran kies. It said I had an update (of course), to android 5.1. I got pretty excited until I read the details. It said it was og5. So kies says og5 is 5.1. Maybe Verizon update manager says same thing.

SM-N920T new, cokc OTA Update root?

I've been reading a lot about root the T-Mobile variant of the Note 5 and have come across many different methods, kernels and twrp ways to do so. Fact of the matter is I've been out of the android scene for a year or two now (made the mistake of getting an iPhone 5s and 6+) but I used to root on my note 2 and 3. What im wondering about is what should I use to Root on T-Mobiles new COKC ota update? everything I've read says flash noble kernel but supposedly that reboots during calls (And is months out of date). So I was wondering if I could select OEM Unlock, Flash the TWRP .tar in odin then reboot and flash SkyHigh Kernel through TWRP. Or do I have to flash the kernel before flashing TWRP? thanks for any help and im glad to be back in the android realm of phones
You can follow TEKHD guide easy steps same method for cokc update http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...easy-steps-n920t-aoge-odin-twrp-root-t3187422
After you root you can flash any kernel like sky high,arter97 kernel or jovys stock modified kernel and you wont get any reboots or nothing else

Ok so my note 5 has just arrived. Firmware is on COKC. So I have 2 questions.
1. Can I use suggested TEKHD method to root my note?
2. My second question would be can I flash ib4stid's rapture rom on my note 5 after rooting it even though the ROM is based on COI5?
If not do I need to flash COI5 firmware via odin prior to rooting my phone which is currently on COKC? or Will this brick my phone?
You can use tek's method.

4. Wipe cache 3 times and reboot
5. Try to manually update your phone.

The one that says Stock is the full firmware and can be flashed over PJ2 stock.
The one that says Dev Friendly or whatever is the same as the Stock version, it just doesn't have the aboot.mbn so it doesn't remove Developer Edition status.
