Guess it depends on your definition of a game lol
Jellybean and KitKat included cute interactive items, Lollipop introduced a "game".

However the feature in general has been available since gingerbread. And yes people considered it a game since jelly bean. One of my friends even thought for us to play air hockey with the jelly beans.
And in Kitkat some people would try and see if they could get them to be all of one size type of square.
And so far Nougat has kind of killed the joy out of this

Android 4.1.2

Will we receive android 4.1.2 or asus will just wait till android 4.2?
The only solution for now is to wait and see.
http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/09/...e-gives-nexus-7-owners-landscape-home-screen/
I don't think we will get 4.1.2 as we never got 4.0.4 before
I have no idea, but one thing I noticed in this announcement is that one of the improvements is the ability to rotate the Home Screen in landscape.
Just got my Infinity, and even the original Firmware had this ability, which was maintained in the JB update. I really like this feature.
Ironically, my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus, also recently updated to JB (Stock OTA update) does *not* have the landscape rotation in the Home Screen, which is one of my few gripes with the device. Yes I know some third party launchers will add this, but often create other unwanted effects, so I haven't explored this yet.
I don't think they added anything that will enhance the experience on this device specifically.

On 4.1.2 they have added to the functionality of the notification menu. Instead of having to use 2 fingers to expand the gmail notification, for example, you just need to use one finger now. But they still haven't updated GAPLESS PLAYBACK for google music.
http://i.imgur.com/CnBTA.png Muahahaha? (But seriously, custom ROMs are great)

Is there an option that has to be enabled or something? I still need both fingers to expand/collapse notifications.
Features I'd like
I've no problem with performance or battery life... those are fine
The only features I want is:
Wifi-Direct back (why would they REMOVE a feature in a UPdate?)
Fixing the random freezing that happens on normal OTA JellyBean and Custom ROMS. You'd try to turn on the screen but it won't, forcing you to reset the tablet by holding down the power button, that's all I want. <<< most important
Getting the wallpaper to scale nicely in portrait and landscape outside the stock launcher app
Removing idiotic items from the settings menu, like the tethering options. This is a wifi-only tablet, so how exactly would you like to use tethering? Your asking a cart to pull another donkey...

I don't know. I think the 4.1.2 is for the Nexus 7 GNex for now. The update we just got was only 4.1.
what the hell, you only had portrait in nexus 7 up until this update? really?
thought whole purpose of tablets were to go landscape
way smaller phones go landscape...why not for a much larger device off break to do that??
apple would have called this an innovation though

Hm, maybe Asus is going to skip Android version 4.1.2 and they will release Android 4.2 (if google release it at 29. oct)
They had skipped 4.0.4, too.

[DISCUSSION]Post your wishes for android 5.0 aka KeyLimePie !!!

Preface :
Well i know that its too early to call android 5.0 keylimepie and all (or is it ? ) but just for the time being let it be so the title says the rest
Aim :
To let people post there wishes on what Google should alter or add into the latest and greatest version of their mobile operating system when it comes out some time next year !
Aftermath :
Nothing no Google employees are ever gonna see this but we'll get to know what people are expecting which may help us better judge KLP when it comes out
Well i have a long list of wishes too but i need a physical keyboard to type em all out so I'll edit this post with my wishes are soon as i reach home
Wait ....
Are there similar threads ? - no worries just report and delete this one - i mean no offense just wanted to gather more info from a creative discussion
Thanks for viewing !
To be honest it is unlikely it will be called key lime pie i am saying that because of what many users have found in the jelly bean easter egg looks more like kandy kane or something similar
im what Willis was talking about
My first wish is please change the name other than key lime pie... If sounded repeatedly it feels like some chinese words or something. lol.
i wish google could reduce the OS battery consumption.

Yes i heard about it before, but i haven't search about it until you mention it.
It would be great if android smartphones can last 1-2 days longer with daily usage.
My wish would be to make all the worth while apps FREE for everyone for a day"only joking?". Would like to see more apps for photosphere to work along side with. Would like to see all the advertising removed from all apps. I would like more interactive ideas with say tv that works flawlessly and not so much fuffing around, 'dear me im sounding like an applesaurus!!" And yeah Roadrunner sound the business I'd like that, kinda smooth and chill out name!!!!

Since they have a new "Chrome" (really some other alloy) statue at MountainView, maybe it'll be called Khronium. Android 5.0 Khronium sounds so cool xD.....but yea it'd break the dessert line...but maybe it'll be so epic it HAS to break the usual naming convention.
I want to see these features:
Root Access choice by default
Lockscreen Customization by default
Group MMS by default
A more Gesture based interface like Ubuntu...(xD copying isn't so bad >.> ) or at least a new UI that has the different Settings, and such, much more consolidated to reduce the need to press this, then that, then this, then back to that.
Google Play Music upgraded to include basic and advanced music features, as extensive as the Sony Walkman app for example and built into the Stock ROM with full voice controls like Samsung's music app
Stock file manager with root access
Revamped and fully functional Google Docs integrated into the OS completely.
Full Desktop Experience when docked would be cool.
Features that are more outlandish:
Insta-Porting. Instantly port the latest AOSP version of Android to any device. (rofl yea to the right)

HI,
@op : Its very good that you maintained the features what other users want but can u try and sync up with @XpLoDWilD and keep a track with what all features are currently used in the ROM so that we can know what all features and updates we are getting with each build.
I searched a lot but I couldn't find and thing like changelog,I know we can have a look at github commits but I am talking through a layman perspective. :good:
Thanks a lot for this beautifull ROM :good:
I hope you'll keep this feature !! This one of most important reasons why i'll try your AOSP rom ! You're the only guy to have this feature on AOSP rom of Note 2 !
Thanks !

I too would love a more comprehensive current list of features, just so I know what is and isnt there. And I am VERY excited about getting multiwindow eventually, that held me to JediX until last week, when I came to the dark side...

Android L discussion thread

This is for android L discussion.
Please stay on topic.
Please refrain from android L discussion on other threads to avoid confusion.
I was hoping someone would start this thread. I'm very much interested to see if the CyanogenMod team goes ahead and releases some kind of preview or nightly build using the code that comes out. I'm pretty exited to see this new UI in action.

L stands for ugLy.
I think the Android L update is trying to copy iOS 7's flat design. Intentional or not, I don't like the direction the devs are going. Those navigation buttons are hideous. It's not a PlayStation controller. (Zing!) If Android L is optimized more for speed and battery life then I hope ROM devs will be all over it. If not, forget it.
And what's with "Android L" anyway? What happened to our food theme? Are KitKats the epitome of food? Next version should be called Sushi.
Now I just made myself hungry for sushi.

hope to CM working on it
I have read a lot about this version
There's a big change between KK and L, this mean a lot of working porting the new structure and as for CyanogenMod this mean waiting for more information and structure to be released
We will have to wait around 2 months till first releases of cm appear
And talking about design, some how is true we're following iOS design but not at all, Google is looking forward a minimal but colored ui and that's when L appear :good:
You wont see any android L offcial cm roms until its released in the fall. Its just a dev preview now. Not meant to be used as a daily.
Besides i hate the UI from what ive seen. Google needs to unify the color scheme of android.
Hi all, any news on this? has anybody tried out a version of L in your d800's?
Currently, my D800 is running 4.4.2. It came that way.
The LG version of KK works perfectly and I have no need to flash a custom.
I've rooted it and TWRP'd it and uninstalled some system apps. So this stock rom is beautiful and does everything I need it to and more.
Having said that, Lollipop would be nice because of the raw file option in the camera.
Up until I got the LG G2 I was sorely disappointed in the efforts of Google/Samsung to do anything worthwhile with photography even though they were always hypying the Nest Big Thing, LMAO.
LG G2 is the perfect smart phone all the way around. It is even better than its successor, the battery hogging G3.
So I don't know if I want Lollipop or not. Things are working just fine the way they are.
This is the first Android phone I've had that just outright shames the iPhone.
is there any developement on official Lollipop update. any leaks or website xml indicator that its under way? i hate when i was waiting for kitkat update on LG OG and which never happens.

"Thanks for reaching out! Android Pie changed the way all apps interact with the space around the notch, and introduced standardized methods for app developers to support full screen mode. This should drive app developers to update their apps with native full screen options, without the need for custom notch settings.
For our first Android Pie release, we are using Google's standard implementation of the notch space. We will continue to monitor adoption of Pie's full-screen capabilities and evaluate whether it makes sense to customize and re-develop our own notch settings.
Hope that helps answer your question. Have a great day!"
Using horizontal app switch is so fundamentally and ergonomically wrong to the feel of Android. HTC (whom I love) used this horizontal card system in 2012. It was awful. Custom AOSP ROMs saved us. Now Google is doing it. !amazing! So wrong. And the PIP or WIW is way harder to do now compared to Android 8.1 and below.
Google you really botched this BS.
Nah it's just you aren't used to it. This has been the norm in the iOS world for several years. Point is it's no better or worse
On the first day of getting the Essential the Pie update was there... LOL
Well the swipe up drive anyone else crazy, with it always swipping the launcher up slightly too? I hope they can change this, so it's not also always moving up as well... hmm
Oh its terrible for sure...I have one PH-1 rolled back to 8.1, but I am holding off on mine for the moment being You have to wipe data to go back 8.1. Tried flashing the No wipe BTS package and it was boot loops for breakfast.
Got mine today, came with 7.1, thought it MIGHT update to 8.1 before 9, nope, went right to 9
DO NOT like the new menu structure. Installed Nova, it crashes on launch. So far, NOT impressed with 9.
Phone looks nice, just not the OS's UI.
Did you factory reset after the jump from 7.1 to 9?
Actually I'm getting the hang of it, you have to make a really fast like flick up to not have the launcher move... It takes practice... LOL
Adaptive Brightness not working in Pie, anyone else?
@p51d007, I hear ya, starting to feel like iOS around here... LOL
To be honest, so far working good here, just that darn flicking up fast action needed to get to the windows, without moving the launcher has been the only complaint I have at the moment... Haven't had much time on it, maybe something else will bug me later... LOL
