Xposed with Huawei theming engine support - Huawei P9 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Devel

I am new to Huawei devices, the P9 is my first device, so trying to get Xposed to work on it, i noticed that we need to disable the theming engine.
I digged a little into this engine sources and it seems the required change is simple, so here is a test version that should support it with no need to disable the theming props:
Code:
ro.config.themecolor
ro.config.hwtheme
ro.config.hw_theme
Try it and report back if there are any remaining issues.
Download. (Tested with my P9)
Updated here.
I need to test this on my other devices (GS7/Nexus5X), just to make sure there are no regressions, then i will do a pull request to rovo89's repo.

Its working fine with P8 Marshmallow.
Nice to see you here. Maybe you know me from note 2 forums a few years ago.

Nice to see you here too.
I posted a newer update here.
v85.1(30/05/2016):
- Add Huawei theming engine support (details).
- Ensure the recompilation on Huawei EMUI Roms (details).

So with this build we don't need the ro.config entries in build.prop?

@wanam
Definitely works on Mate 8 with 4.1. Only had to force a reboot using power button. That's not a problem of your build, it happened with Rovo's builds several times, too.
Great work!!! Many thx to you.

Hi!
Hello!
Actually your xposed works fine. I have customized icons in the status bar etc, but doesn't change the theme's icons. The gold one for example. Can u try it? I don't have any particular modul...

Sometimes the Mate is not booting up with xposed. The screen stays bright. If it is booting the Mate reduces screen brightness after some seconds. I've experienced the same behavior with the Note 4 too for example. Sometimes it needed a forced reboot to boot up. Not a big deal, it happens 1 of 20 boots or something like that. As said it is happening with original build too.

Which module did you use to change the status bar icons?

Nothing. If theme engine works the icons in the status bar are different. For example health's icons is smoother...

I tried many themes with no issues, post your xposed logs to make sure it's not a theming engine issue.

A logcat should help in this case.
The Note4 issue was related to Knox/secure storage and i remember it was fixed by disabling secure storage.

If it comes up again i'll grab a logcat and provide it to you. Since that loop after switching from rovo's v84 to your 85.1 no further problems occured. It was a dirty flash from v84 directly to yours.

Sorry,

Hi folks..any experts.. please need help here..
Accidentally, cuz my signal wasn't stable n low, i decided to change my baseband selection by dialing *#*#4636#*#* then tap 'phone info' > menu > 'select baseband'
at this point i was looking for 'automatic' as ussually i get better reception by done it, but accidentally my finger taps 'US baseband' & then my i9305 lost any signal & network connection. And it couldn't even manually or automatically selects mobile networks in the Settings.
I'm using Slimbean 4.2.2 & latest yank555 kernel, my baseband/modem is XXBLL5, operator : 3 (indonesia).
How can i reset my modem/baseband settings to make my connections/network work again..
I've tried to dial *#*#4636#*#* again then select 'celullar' since there's no 'automatic' mode, factory reset, full wipe, flash from beginning, even pull my simcard then reboot, power off then put again to reboot...but still no luck..
So please...Any help from any experts would be greatly appreciated...

i am thinking about buying the LTE S3. i heard that slim rom for the original S3 is the best fsking ROM ever and was super disappointed when i realised that it wasn't available for the i9305.
if you put more of a description, some screenshots and generally more info in the original post (how's the responsiveness? battery life? what kind of tweaks are you using? in what ways did you alter the original slim source? is this optimised to take advantage of the i9305's 2GB of ram?) then i'm sure you would have hundreds of eager and grateful users!
based on what i've read, i would definitely love this ROM to come to the LTE version of the phone. please keep up the good work and keep the updates and information coming!
oh wow this rom rocks!! No problems so far and I got 4g at home, no other rom has 4g at my home. thats strange :silly: :highfive:

Its still in beta. Although it runs well Samsung havent released the updated Mali drivers so there will be some graphical glitches as far as I know. Until Samsung picks up their game we put up with these problems.
However this build works and function correctly for me and some others. If you want stable Android 4.3 right now though I'd get a Nexus...

[MOD][Xposed] Z1 Camera Tweaks

Requires Xposed Framework!
Just got the Z1, pretty awesome device, it does have its minor quirks though.
This module allows you to disable the camera launch sound when using quick launch (hardware key and lockscreen widget).
It also allows you to do bursts without running into a bug I noticed.
When enabling bursts, using the hardware key to capture photos always results in two burst shots, no matter how short the press is (unless you don't use the two-step focusing). This rendered the button useless to me, as I use it for steadier shots, but being forced to do burst shots takes out the ability to use flash.
Ticking the option in the app allows you to use the hardware key for single shots, and the touch key for normal and burst shots.

Completely odexed stock (ota'd to 534), and rooted with vroot
It seems to work fine if you don't touch transparency settings. If you do you need to delete the keys added by it to the settings provider. I already forked it on Github and I'll push the fix I added to it.

Fixing the problem is better than clearing or restoring data from CWM
In adb shell or a terminal app:
Code:
settings put system status_bar_alpha_config_launcher null
settings put system status_bar_alpha_config_lockscreen null
settings put navigation_bar_alpha_config_launcher null
settings put navigation_bar_alpha_config_lockscreen null
You don't need all of them, you just need to clear the settings you set. Of course, running them all won't do any harm.
I'm not sure why @C3C076 opted to using system settings to store values, that makes it harder to clear settings if a user messes up.

I'll look into it. I would've said yes but the camera app is two different activities (I'm not sure why Sony did this). There's the normal camera and a fastcapture one. The latter is only launched by the HW button and the lockscreen. That's why the icon didn't make the startup sound.
Anyway, when you switch to a differemt mode, or the front facing camera, it stops the fastcapture one and starts the normal one. So making it launch in manual mode may or may not cause some slowdown.

I've implemented this, and it works fine, but only when the kernel / camera HAL / Qualcomm overlay system (I'm not sure which is the problem) doesn't hit a bug.
If it does hit the bug (which has happened in 80% of my tests), the camera will be locked up till you reboot (you can use it and all, but the next startup of the camera will show you a "Camera not available" error).
I may push it in the next update as a feature for those willing to experiment, it's quite a shame it didn't work as intended :/
I'm guessing this explains why Sony decided to make two cameras, one was a workaround.

WHY theres no nav keys???!!!
huawei Magic Fingerprint gestures to navigate. So far swipe from left and right on our sensor works as back button. Home and recents doesn't work for now.
Why doesn't control center being displayed if we have navigation keys? This is due to lower dpi from our side it works if u set androidsystem with 640 dpi but everything else will be a totall mess. So to activate navigation keys
open settings -> system settings -> accessibility and enable navigation bar
can i remove the control center up button in navigation bar?
yes. This wasn't working on first version but works on B521.
WGW isn't any new apps displaying any notifications?
they're disabled by default for some reason.?
open settings -> notification center select the app that doesn't display any issues.
battery time is terrible why?
it hasnt settled down you just move to a new apartment . . . It takes time to settle down
Why can't I install 3rd party launchers apps from playstore or anywhere else?:
You can but you must install it as system app huawei has added some sort of block method which prevents us from installing 3rd party launchers (no root)
This is also happening with dupe phone caller and contacts.
Info is invalid apk (which is strange)

Very good congratulations!!!! Does this rom works on all FRD variants?
Iaa85 from Brazil with Honor 8
Aside from the bugs you have mentioned is it stable or does it need some work to be done? Don't forget to mention Magic UI is based on marshmallow by the way! Another question that will be asked.

It should do yes since I included all files for wifi and camera for every honor 8 (since it's included in stock) so yes it should work.

Oh yup I forgot about that [emoji14] well probably need some easier way to configure brightness etc and something is blocking launches from being installed (invalid package) this I don't know why only solution for now is to install it as a system app.
Well for daily usage it's stable but has its hard way of browsing trough lol since it seems to break some functions as we lower the density. such as notification center cannot be used if you enable navigation bar and the buttont to show it doesn't work. I haven't encountered any real issues nor haven't tried everything fully tbh but majority of features should be working

Yes I did. I used the one posted in the OP. I'm wondering if I got a bad download of the firmware though. I'm going to download the file once more and give it another run. :fingers-crossed:

Finally got it to work. Had to reset phone and unlock it again, etc... Didn't wipe anything before flashing it nor after, but when it was booting up it started bootlooping and had to go to recovery and make a factory reset. Booting up went fine after that. Now I have to learn some mandarin!

@HassanMirza01 Just want to ask what you mean with "... for odd versions (phh).. and for versions from google play (Magisk Manager)?
For Magisk Manager I like to note, it is not anymore available from Playstore, at the moment just from official Magisk Thread v12
But @topjohnwu is working on new version v13, it has Magisk Manager included (dont know if it will be separate available in future)
Thanks for your great work, one kernel is amazing for all P9 devices
I am on v13 i think.

[BACKPORT][6.0.1+] Pixel Launcher OMR1-4113793 from Android 8.0

Pixel Launcher OMR1-4113793 Backport for Android 6.0.1+

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I'm boring and I keep posting the same thing over and over after each Developer Preview from Android O 8.0 releases... But I needed to do this backport for my SHIELD Tablet anyways, so I really don't mind sharing it here. Find this irrelevant and repetitive, feel free to close the thread.
So... Yet another time, the title says it all.
This is a quick (I spent 3 hours on it) backport of the Pixel Launcher OMR1-4113793, extracted from the Android O (8.0) Production release. I extracted the APK from the sailfish (Google Pixel) and tested it on my SHIELD Tablet, and as it wasn't working I modded it so that it'd work just fine on any Android 6.0.1+ devices.
I have implemented the Google's signature verification patch, as according to this thread so that the application doesn't Force Close on launch, as well as all the goodies from the Pixel Launcher ODR-4023749 v3 backport.
I've tested the application in my SHIELD Tablet running official LineageOS 13.0 nightlies, as well as in my Wileyfox Swift 2 with Android 7.1.1, and seems to be working like a charm with latest Google Play Services installed.
However, like last time I'd like to roll call all of you to please, test it and report back with any issue you find.

NOTE:
- DO NOT MIRROR MY FILES, please.
- The background color of the App Drawer won't look blue in Samsung devices, like last time, as I fixed it to look white.
- The apk, like last time, has been signed with my own key, so uninstall any previous versions before installing this one
- Bloggers! YouTubers! If you post links to this backport PLEASE, be sure NOT to make mirrors of it, and, it'd be awesome if you mentioned the original author in your blog posts.
- ¡Bloggeros! ¡YouTubers! Si posteais enlaces de éste backport, POR FAVOR, NO lo resubais, y, estaría genial si mencionárais quién es el autor del mismo.
- Do you want to get Android O emojis too? Check this out.
- No, still no reflection.engine crashes

Yeah, the pixel launcher doesn't show up in your app drawer.
If you want to select it as your default launcher you'll have to do that from settings. Look for a setting called home. It should be under the default apps category
