Device Information

I am on cyanogenos version YoGDAS2K1. I have lost my device information shown in the details of the snaps taken. This was lost only in a day. My bacon is rooted, Tried wiping system and flashin it again.
I have posted this issue in Jira CyanogenMod and all they say is "TWRP 2.8.6.1 and 2.8.7.0 are specifically know to not flash Cyanogen OS and CyanogenMod files on bacon properly." Can anyone please tell something about this
If your TWRP version is either of the above then it's not gonna flash the ROM firmwares properly, it's a known bug.
Use this exact version of TWRP to flash your ROM (unofficial TWRP 2.8.6.0.6 by kumajaya): androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952609056

Your device being what?
In any case, if TWRP is not available for your device, then there's not much you can do. You could try building TWRP on your own, though that may be a bit complicated.

[DEV-ABOOT-ONLY/PF4/PD1/PG2/PJ2/PL1/QA1] Safestrap Recovery v4.05 B01 [2017-03-23]

CURRENT PROJECT STATUS:

WHAT IS SAFESTRAP?
Safestrap is a Bootstrap / Recovery for locked bootloader phones. The goal is to avoid touching your primary system (I'll call this "stock" system) and only flash or make large changes to another place on your phone that Safestrap treats as a "2nd system" (in this case, it's a series of virtual ROM slots located on the internal emmc area: "/sdcard"). Once installed, you will see a "Splashscreen" giving you the option to hit "menu" to enter recovery. The recovery portion of Safestrap is now based on TWRP 2.6.1.0 (a touch based recovery) and you can perform .zip installs, backups and restores here. The additional features I've added to TWRP are mostly located under the "Boot Options" menu:
Here you can create virtual ROM-slots (3-4 on the S5 due to partition size and internal space) for flashing ROMs. NOTE: The bigger you make the /data partition the less room you will have to make other ROM-slots.
You can activate a new ROM-slot by choosing the slot you wish to make active and then selecting the "Activate" button. Once active, you will see the "rom-slot#" up in the top of the screen shown in green. If you make the "stock" ROM active, then you can see it in the top shown in red.
Once a ROM-slot is active, all actions you would normally perform using TWRP are directed to that ROM-slot. For example, "Install" to flash a .zip, backup and restore.
HOW DO I INSTALL SAFESTRAP?
Requirement: Root (systemless SuperSU)
[v4.03 Safestrap zip file]: Flash via TWRP/FlashFire.
HOW DO I ENTER RECOVERY?
During each reboot a splashscreen will be displayed showing whether the device is running a rom-slot or on the "Stock ROM".
Press the button shown on the screen to either enter "RECOVERY" or "CONTINUE" booting (or the hard button underneath each option).

WARNING: Safestrap is heavily modified to be "Safe" for your device. Do not download TWRP from their website and expect it to work the same way. Also TWRP does not support Safestrap, tho some issues that may come up will be TWRP dependant, please try and contact myself or look on the forums for your device for answers before hunting down TWRP people. They won't be able to help w/ Safestrap specific questions.

No.
Why would this get used instead of twrp flashed to recovery?

kltevzw is locked! But some devices with CID start with 15 can be unlocked and flash twrp.
And they still need safestrap for upgarde bootloader and unlock their devices.
This version of safestrap does not need kitkat kernel to show up the boot menu, so you can use it with MM kernel.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. I just have four CID 15 phones and just used to flashing TWRP into recovery. Thanks!
Hi Guys,
My phone is cid11 and when I flashed freedom ROM, I lost safestrap. It says that it's installed buy when I boot into recovery, the phone just restarts. What do I need to do to get it back?
I was referred to this thread through another.

you are on 5.0 ROM and safestrap not support your kernel
use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve.../ncg-ne9-nha-ni2-nk2-4-4-x-safestrap-t3577599
flash kitkat kernel to boot safestrap and restore your 5.0 kernel after that
or simply use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/development/safestrap-5-0-lollipop-t3313800
Much appreciated!!

Doubt about rooting Alcatel Tetra 5041C (Android Oreo 8.1)

Hello XDA, i come here with a doubt about how to root my phone, i found this article about it:
How to Root Alcatel Tetra / TCL 5041C and Install TWRP Recovery
Easy tutorial to Root Alcatel Tetra / TCL 5041C Smartphone in easy steps. For rooting, you have to flash TWRP Recovery first through the guide.
www.androidweblog.com
The article seems to be specific for the model of my phone, but it is legit? It seems to be using a custom TWRP build Link and Magisk, it didn't specify version, but i suppose the latest one (v22) should work?
So rooting this phone it is literally that? Install TWRP then patch Magisk in it? With the instructions given in that article? I though i had to download a custom rom. It will wipe data from the phone? (this is just an incovenience).

Don't download a custom .img file from a nowhere site. Download it from the Official source, since your device is officially supported by TWRP. The rest of the instructions are in that link, but flashing Magisk after TWRP is the correct standard procedure and should suffice your needs. Which Magisk version can be anything from 21.0 up to 22.0, However, please backup these partitions in TWRP before flashing:
Boot
System
Cust (or any name similar to that)
Also, Wiping your data (factory reset) after unlocking the Bootloader is not avoidable, because it's a Requirement to all manufacturers to enforce this rule for security reasons (in case someone wants to steal your data).

Android 11 (LineageOS 18.1) & TWRP

I installed LineageOS 18.1 (Android 11) on my OP7P and want to boot (or flash) TWRP.
There is a lot of different information about the state of TWRP on Android 11.
I hope someone could clearify the following questions:
1. Does TWRP [3.5.2] support Android 11?
the release notes of 3.5.1 state that they "prepared a mini release before Android-11 support."
The release notes of 3.5.2 don't mention android 11 at all.
There are various people in the LOS18.1 thread that can boot twrp, so I assume there is some kind of (partial) support.
2. What if 'fastboot boot twrp.img' doesn't work?
For me I can't boot (or flash) TWRP (on LOS18.1).
So as the twrp/lineage os guide says I do:
fastboot boot twrp.img
Click to collapse
It finished succesfull, but my phone stays in fastboot and doesn't reboot.
The TWRP guide says the following:
If fastboot boot command doesn't work you need to root your device and flash the TWRP installer (remember that flashing the TWRP installer you will lose the root).
Click to collapse
I find this a very vague description; what do they mean with "doesn't work"?
(when I flash twrp it results in an unbootable phone, might be related to a/b partitions, but I have not enough knowledge of that)
3. Does TWRP work on encrypted phones?
I found various posts that suggest that TWRP doesn't work on encrypted phones.
I can't find any reliable source that supports that statement.
Twrp says this, but that doesn't clearify things at all.
I hope someone could give me some answers, or guide me to some reliable source so I can find it myself.
I find the documentation of LineageOS and TWRP lacking in that perspective.
For question 1, there's no official TWRP for 11.... YET.
Question 2 - I'm thinking cause TWRP doesn't work for 11, that's your issue.
Besides that, if your trying Android 10(because you don't mention what version your using in question 2), I would suggest re downloading, as that process works fine for this phone I'm typing this reply to you on.
Question 3 - I'm sorry, I've got ideas, but it's above my pay grade... So no hard knowledge I'm comfortable calling advice, to give a fellow OP7P owner.

I also think there is no official TWRP for android 11, but twrp doesn't make this very clear in their docs.
Multiple people are claiming they are able to (at least) boot twrp on Android 11.
LineageOS 18.1 is Android 11 (but I will clearify the post).
Thank you for your reply
there is now a working TWRP version for Android 11.
Nebrassy version: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-11-unofficial-teamwin-recovery-project.4289455/
worked for me with 'fastboot boot TWRP-3.5.1-guacamole-Nebrassy-3.img'
