This is my first mod. This mod activate de handset speaker and i do modiffications in the volume of the two speakers.

I deleted the V5 because i do a lot of test and the V4 is perfect.
Test it watching a trailer or any HD content and is increible.
With multimedia content that is very pre amplificated, i prefer to down volume manually y volume down key.
But with content with low volume, is good to have margin to up the volume.
and yes, all versions are dual speaker.

If there isn't compatible, post original mixer_path.xml and mixer_gain.xml (system/etc)
and i do a mod for your especific model, but i think that this mod work perfect on the 935f

We have only "one speaker meant for music" which is located under the phone. The second one is the earpiece which located next to the selfie camera. The second one is only used for calls, however this mod enables to use both for music and video, enabling a sort of a surround effect.
Use with caution, as the earpiece speaker can be damaged at higher volumes since it was not meant for music.

The S7 have a 1.5w main speaker and a 1.2w hearpiece
The people are using a similar mod since s4 and there is no problem while the values are safe and the s7 have a very good hearpiece compared with old models.

Thanks bro for this fantastic mod keep up..:good:

Replaced file with modded file and it wouldn't load any sounds. Luckily I backed up. I'll try doing it manually.

EDIT: manually changed the volume to 90 only on speaker which I wanted (headphones is loud enough lol) and it works a treat. So I'm guessing its something to do with that file...

SM-N9005 4.4.2 Volume Boost
Hi,
I am on SM-N9005 4.4.2 (OXX - Open Europe) rooted CWM n9005-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.6-kitkat(0113).
Updated:System/etc/mixer_paths.xml
path name speaker 81 -> make it 90
path name headphones 20 -> make it 30
beauty!!! Thanks
Bluetooth volume stays the same. Any chance anyone can assist with Bluetooth pathname and volume setting?
I used Volume_Boosting_Sound_VERY_LOUD.zip with 4.3 and the Bluetooth was very loud.
Can Volume_Boosting_Sound_VERSION_2_VERY_LOUD be used on 4.4.2?
Is there a tested volume Boosting zip file for SM-N9005 4.4.2 Kitkat (OXX - Open Europe)?
Thanks
ee
Thanks a million for this mod
I am on 4.3 at the moment as 4.4 isn't available in my country yet and I don't want to factory reset just to update.
Can someone tell me how to apply this mod on 4.3? I am new to Note 3 so I haven't followed this thread for long.
Thanks

Is this the maximum we can increase the volume of More 3?
I applied this mod but the difference was... Not too big for me on 24bit vinyl tracks. can we amplify it further?
I just read that there was a "moderate increase", "loud increase" and "very loud increase" mods for 4.3. I haven't heard those mods myself so I am asking. Is this mod at the level of "very loud" mod of 4.3 or "loud" or "moderate"?
Thanks for replying

Well mate if you want your headphones to go louder you just have to change the value 20 (or 30 if you already edited it) to a higher number.
That is if it worked in the first place. The mod only works for the speaker (which I've actually reverted back to 81 since it was full of distortions), I'm currently fiddling with the lines hoping something will work for the headphones.

Success! I can't believe so many people confirmed it working without even testing it! Anyways the OP has pretty found the right place to edit, but instead of changing the value 20, you have to change the value 77 to whatever you wish. I set mine to 90 and has provided a tremendous boost in sound, the volume is much better than before. I don't see why do you have to be editing system settings to get normal volume though, and the annoying "Warning you are increasing above safe levels" warning.. are Samsung really that worried about everyone going deaf?
PS: I would strongly recommend leaving the value 81 for the speaker and setting 86 for the headphones (at least for my headphones, sound gets distorted at max volume after that. probably gonna be different for every individual depending on your headphones)
Can this be don't without rooting?

Note 5 audio quality vs htc one m7

Is there any way to make the note 5 audio quality sound like a htc one m7 . That has been by far the best sounding handset and headphone combo i have have ever had . Is there a kernel to make the audio come close to a m7 ?
Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
Not without adding a second speaker to make the handset stereo. There are some pretty good options in the audio settings for headsets, but for the handset, you are limited to one speaker which will never sound as good as two.
You can check this link for a mod that increases the audio output, but it is only for the t-mobile variant. It might get you started down the path though.

i've been using the surround sound mod (enabling sound through earpiece speaker when using media) on my nexus 5 for several years. Is there something similar for oneplus phones? (op3 being delivered next week )

you wont need it as the audio is killer on the device.
Fair enough, but it still won't be stereo right?
I'll do it as soon as I get my device
Try viper4Android or Dolby digital sound Mod.. Works fine
Sorry, but the sound is not killer ? Try out Huawei Mate 8, then you know killer sound. Huawei P9 Plus with its stereo speaker is not better than OnePlus 3. So we can be happy with the speaker. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ speaker is a bit better. Galaxy S7 Edge speaker is as good as OnePlus 3. HTC 10 disappointed me the most. Worst speaker
Waiting for this mod.

You probably haven't used Lenovo Vibe X3 which has an output of 120 decibels from its stereo speakers with ESS SABRE 9018C2M.
How does the sound compare to the s7 edge and nexus 6p?

OOS is a pain in the ass, moving to a cm base and seeing if I have better luck
In case you still haven't got your device: let me know if you need to test something, more than willing to help
Tinkering with the mixer paths right now. Headphones are fine but speaker volume is horrible. Vibration is horrible on this phone too.
Yeah, I'm willing to help in any way possible if it means dual speaker output!
For some reason both CM and OOS us mixer_paths_tasha.XML instead of mixer_paths.xml.
This means two things
1. It's definitely going to harder to identify which value corresponds to what peice of hardware
2. Theoretically we would only need one mod for cm and OOS
If anyone figures out the values for the speaker, let me know because so far I'm not having any luck
is this just a matter of try and error until the values are found or is there a chance at "no stereo at all"?

I just got this phone last night and spent the morning rooting it to install viper4android and Im pretty disappointed at how low the volume is with this phone even with everything maxed. My $40 budget Samsung blew this thing out of the water volume wise.
Is there no way to mod any of the sound files to get more volume from the DAC? I notice there is no default_gain.conf like Samung phones and Mixer_paths.xml is blank. This is a great phone but the sound is an absolute bummer.

He already did.
After adding Atmos to the v4a I was able to get a small increase by turning on virtualizer and volume leveler. It's still not too my liking but it definitely is better which I am grateful for.
There is nothing you can edit manually as far as gain or headphone volume in any config/XML files on this thing? These audio apps are able to make a difference but it's nowhere near enough. On my phone the 2/3 volume to full volume really doesn't change at all only the slider changes position.
some dev could pls try to port stereo speakers mod which is available for mi 3 which makes earpiece has speaker

[MOD][Magisk][Oreo / Pie] Dual Speaker Mode for N5X systemlessly

Update: Tested and working on Pie also
About
This Module uses the Mixer file from this thread: [Mod] SURROUND SOUND
I just created a systemless module for Magisk
Code:
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included.
Nexus 5X has 2 speakers but one is limited for calls only...
So this module enables the earpiece for media and your call speaker will work as secondary speaker
Perfomance
I've tested it on latest stock 8.1.0 (OPM7.181005.003, Oct 2018) & working without any problem or distortion in sound
Call sound is not affected by this mod as it only enables the earpiece while playing media ( video, audio, ringtone, etc )
Download
Google Drive
Installation
* Magisk Version required: 17.0 above
1. Download the Dual Speaker Mode for N5X zip from GDrive or from attached file here
2. Flash through the Magisk Manager App or through latest TWRP
Uninstallation
Just flash the module zip again from either Magisk Manager app or TWRP...

Hello again.
I'm having troubles. I'm a rock and metal guy mostly so when I listen to some songs the principal guitar, specially in solos, sounds so quiet and the second guitar sounds louder.
I know this isn't from the song because i tested in other device and my PC too.
Do you anything about this? Any settings or something?
I put the gain in 0 again to test.

Basically the ear piece speaker is small, has lower sound than primary media speaker and is only for calls. We enabled it for media also but the sound can never be equal to the primary speaker
Unfortunately it's not a pure stereo experience like Nexus 6P
