What have you accomplished with the hidden menu? - T-Mobile LG V10 General

To get to the hidden menu for those who don't know how simply dial it 277634#*# after the final # it will go to the hidden menu itself. I haven't messed with it much being I'm used to my samsung phones after 8 years of only samsung I'm new to the LG scene. But what I would like to know is what have all you guys/girls learned, figured out, and or done with the hidden menu to improve you phone experience rather it is speed battery or what ever. It would be nice if you post on what you have done and what it has done for your device experience.

Unlocked my APN for editing. Nice.

I did that as well

If interested I have a way to make it LTE only

I've entered the 227634#*# code into my phone and it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code."

Galaxy S III locked

Hi, I have an S III with a pin unlock code. I was able to get into my phone just fine, untill a few minutes ago I was able to get into my phone.
Now its simply locked and I cannot enter.
Any ideas? There are important family pictures.
Punch in the correct code?
I'm not trying to be facetious, but it's highly unlikely that the code just changed on its own.
Have you tried a battery pull and reset?

You can also login to your my Verizon account on the web and look under your phone to find your lock code.

If you enter the wrong code enough times it should give you the option to unlock by entering the password for the phone's primary Google account.

Also, shouldnt I be getting the "forgotten pin" option? I dont see that.
If I get that I can easily login with my google account on MY phone.
Actually, I just tried it with the pin setting.... I'm not getting the "Login with your google account" option either. It shows up just fine for my pattern password, but if I set a pin, I can't find an option to bypass.

My question still stands, how do you reset your password with the pin lock? When I lock my phone with the pattern, if I mess up too many times it gives me the option to login with my google account, but with a pin lock, I saw no such option. What is one to do in this case?

mobile data not available while you're on this call

I started getting this pop up message on my VZW Note 5
mobile data not available while you're on this call. It happens when I am working with a webpage or app and a phone call comes in.
Anyone have this come up and figure out how to stop it?
You can only have data and voice at the same time if you are using advanced calling. If not, data switches off when on voice.
Great, I cannot turn advanced calling on...... This didnt start happening until recently.
Try signing up for it in your control panel on the website under "my services." It might be switched off from there. After doing so you should be able to switch it back on on your phone.

Yes, for the newer phones like the note 5, they do not have dual radio's. Meaning can not surf the web while on a phone call unless;
You have 4G LTE signal and you have advanced calling setup in your "my services" and in settings of the note 5.
You will not be able to surf the web and be on the phone if you have 3G, unless you are on wifi This is a little annoying because on the note 3, you can surf the web and use data all you want. We didn't have to have advanced calling 1.0 crap to use it and even on 3g we can still use it without wifi. But hey, price we pay for to use the latest and greatest on Verizon.

I'm pretty positive that isn't Verizon's fault... Negotiated contacts explicitly offer things as options (and in many cases they are $0 no cost options) so the business or government can decide what they want in it.

Makes sense now that you pointed it out. Although I can't figure out why they would deny it. Unless it poses any security threats I am unaware of.

Two thoughts...
It makes it harder for the NSA to snoop... It wouldn't surprise me if it was discouraged on government contracts.
Or their agreement was in place before advanced calling was available and they haven't updated their contact to add it yet (governments move slowly).

Well if you are worried that your phone will update automatically, it won't because your /system partition has been modified (you have root access). Either way, you will be notified about the update and you can simply ignore it.

Did you have any issues using LG Bridge? I getting an error on my device right at 49% that says "Image Verifying Failed", two times in red. After that message I get a message in Bridge that I need to retry the update (retrying gets the same error).

I also used LG Bridge. Fingerprint scanner works great now with my Otterbox case. I had no problems updating through Bridge, took maybe 20 minutes.

I took the update thru the LG Bridge. It came thru flawlessly. Things I've noticed...
- Fingerprint scanner seems to be very sensitive now. Registering a new fingerprint was effortless, unlike the first times I did it. MUCH improved.
- 2nd screen functionality for notifications seem better. My messages wouldn't scroll when they got displayed, now they do.
- MUCH better battery life.
- Sharing options are improved BIG TIME. It gives frequently used phone numbers now.
- The dialer has a native video call option now and it's awesome. I called my girlfriend on her Galaxy S6 Edge and she got the option to answer or answer in a video call. Very nice.
- Maybe placebo, but the camera seems a bit snappier.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on the update. Very nice and welcomed update. Also, this is the only phone I've never had to root just to get some extra functionality.

Did anybody else notice a difference in front and rear camera quality while taking a picture and the marshmallow update?
I'm excited about the update I'm one of the few who have problems with the fingerprint scanner when I put a case on my phone but without a case this is got to be one of the fastest unlocking phones with fingerprint I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few phones... I'm going to update to marshmallow tonight

If you have this issue on two different devices, that leads me to think the issue is with the network(s), not the devices, unless you're using the same SIM in both devices, in this case, the SIM might be the issue.

Crazy thing is that I switched not only from Ph-1 to Pixel 3 but from Sprint to Google Fi. Maybe it's an issue with the Sprint aspect of the MVNO.

Chatted with Fi support. They had me restart phone in safe mode and I didn't get the error anymore. Must be an app I've installed. Annoying. Does anyone know of a dev or debugging app I can use to see what app is throwing this error? TIA

Use adb, pull a logcat.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
Or, you can create a backup of each apk that you installed yourself, then disable/uninstall them one at a time until you find the one that causes the behaviour. After you find the culprit, reinstall the ones that had no effect and then find a solution that allows you to use the problem app without causing issues.
