Wow, thanks ! It was a surprise that our tab was one of the first devices that took cm13 nightlies !

Wow. I remember when cm12 were first rolling out we were lucky enough to be one of the first to get it, now we're the first samsung device to get cm13 thanks to Christopher Palmer. You're the MAN!! :good:
Edit - enabling root in developers option but apps only get partial root. It seems like we're unable to write to system.

Initial bugs (cm-13.0-20151124-NIGHTLY-mondrianwifi - for who didn't see the other thread)
1. ExFat is currently broken so SDCards~64GB and larger (that use this filesystem) won't work
2. root (adb & apps) (can't mount /system rw with rootexplorer, esfilemanager ..etc) - not sure bug origins
I am currently using the Slim Gapps they don't crash, and are pretty stable.
Slim_zero_gapps.ALPHA.6.0.build.0.x-20151121.zip (current as of this post*)
Geekbench 3 score = 914 - 2597
AnTuTu v5.7.1 = Crashes on the Project Anarchy 3D test. (possible app bug)
AnTuTu v6.0 Beta2 (from their website) = 44773
So far the interface is smooth and lag free, for people who don't want to test or run into bugs I would wait until the stable build for the best experience .
@OP-Correct link to Change log (though 13.0 makes more sense)

Anyways great news that we are some of the first devices to get CM13 / Marshmallow, and great work crpalmer!
(I hope Samsung saw this news and feels ashamed for their lack of support and updates)

Am I doing something wrong or SD cards can't be set as internal storage yet? Anyway, thank you for your great work!

Can't be used from inside apps yet, either. For example, Plex or Google Music can't store synced media there... To be expected with such a new release.
Perormance, in the short time I used the tab last night, is night and day better than cm12.1 for me.

Only issue I've found so far is GoogleCamera 3.1 cannot initialize video recording, but the AOSP Camera can. Never seen that before.

I have the same problem on my Xperia Z3 running Marshmallow, so likely not a ROM issue.

I used Open Gapps (http://opengapps.org/).
I selected ARM, 6.0 Mini and they work great. The had tried the Micro version but they crashed constantly.

Just a quick suggestion - you should change the [5.1.x] in the title of this thread to read [6.0.x] to avoid confusion.

Noticed the issues like others on. The ROM not recognizing ext card. But also I can't install SuperSu? Anyone know if CM13 is on a systemless root?

Xmas comes early this year ))
First time ever I'm on the first CM nightly build for any of my devices <3
for the very first build it works not bad, no gapps or xposed tried yet though.
two things noticed:
wifi connection seems more unstable than on cm12.1.
antutu app crashes all the time when trying to run 3D benchmark. So currently cannot even get a full rating from antutu just yet.

This runs beautifully for me. Using Slim_zero_gapps.ALPHA.6.0.build.0.x-20151121.zip with no crashes. Only bugs I've run into:
1) after installing Google Now launcher, I had to reboot before it let me switch launchers. Works perfect after reboot
2) Google Camera 2.5.x crashes when processing a Lens Blur photo. Regular photos and video work fine.
Very few issues :good:

does not see the sd card.
How does improve?

Make sure you read the thread a bit before posting - it's only 2 pages (so far).
I'm betting your card is exFat, as reading the thread that is not compatible (yet).
It's also in the OP under "Known Issues"...

Some other bugs,
1. root cannot change the /system to rw mode for some reason (will try adb later), with toybox mount -o remount,rw /system, busybox mount -o remount,rw /system, mount -o remount,rw /system all get permission denied, I can however change the / partition to rw - ( I heard this is a feature in android M, but still not sure)
2. when you power off the tablet there is no battery icon
3. I don't think the battery gauge is accurate, looking at logcat I don't think it's reading the stats
4. brightness adjuster in notification pulldown is too large
5. wifi is iffy with hidden networks (won't automatically connect), and it drops off alot.

BTW, I believe that the last after all changes from the last unofficial build is merged into CM code, it should be good enough to be promoted to an M-Release!

Yes, I would have put it in for a M release if it had gotten merged in time. Assuming I don't screw it up in the next few weeks it should get the next M release.
Thanks! Great work!
Nice, just in time I received my 8.4. Finally an official build for this nice tablet. It's flashing time again
Installed nightlys and have problem with connection to Play Store. Get message "No connection", but Mail Chrome a s o don´t missing connection.
Did 2 clean insatll with Gapps from your link and got the same result, no connection to Play Store. Go back to unofficeill version CM and Play Store working great.
I am so happy to see this device become official. The time you did all of this in is simply amazing.
Thank you.
Are nighties ROMS that we will flash everynight that have small changes?
Will Goo.Manager be able to update our "CM11" because it is official?
thanks

Do a web search. This is a fairly common problem and I believe that the fixes are basically to clear cache / data for the app and if that doesn't work to try a factory reset (but do the search and see what it says).

I don't use Goo Manager so I don't know what it will or won't do. You also don't really need it. You can get updates by going to Setting >> About tablet >> CyanogenMod updates and making sure that you select that you want to get the nightlies. If there aren't any problems, last night's build should be ready in about 45 minutes (so if you check now it will just show the first nightly as and say it is installed).
Nightlies are literally whatever the current code is when it runs a build each night. They could have little to no changes or there could be huge changes. Most of the time the changes are good but there is always a risk of nasty bugs in nightlies (for example, yesterday's build had a beep every 10 seconds when making voice calls on all phones) so if you are risk adverse, stick with the monthly M builds (when they become available for our tablet).

The best advice that I can give is to make a backup of something that you consider to be stable for you and then if you hit an nightly that breaks something that you need then you can go back to your backup.
Today's build should be daily driver (as was yesterday's).
Thanks!
The new theme chooser got merged into last night's build but appears to be broken for us.
Thanks for your work. Unfortunately I own SM-T325. Is there any chance of porting it to this device? I would love to see CM on this device with maintaned 4G and GSM support. If it is needed I can provide you a copy of source codes for this device (samsung servers are unbelievably slow, I was downloading it more than one hour). Thank you.

Solution for no working Play Store, “No Connection”
1. Check that date and time is correct set.
2. Insted of Gapps from OP use Slim Rom latest gapps or some of Paranoids latest gapps.
Above solution give me back connection to Play Store.

Unfortunately, it would be far to painful to try to get a working version of sm-t325 without having the device. It takes a huge amount of time to get a new device brought up (after that it's easy for new ROMs to get built). I can't image the time it would take using only remote testers to fix the kinks. And then after that, any bug that came up would be impossible to test.
I do this for fun and that sounds like it would stop being fun fast!

Thanks for your response. Is there any chance that you could point me to some guides, tutorials or advices on porting ROMs to different devices? I am no developer but I worked with linux and I could try to build something for SM-T325. I actually pulled CM sources from github and downloaded a kernel and platform sources and made some preparations but I don't know where to head from there. Thanks and have a nice day
Wifi Issue..
Love the ROM, great work cr... Only issue I have encountered is when rebooting, I have to reconnect to my wifi. Which requires entering the password as well.
Am I missing a setting?
Thanks for your hard work and dedication.
EDIT:
Is anyone else encountering wifi issues. My install forgets my ssid password when I reboot. It even struggled a bit to connect when I tested it again earlier... running the 510 nightly.

Kidding right?
Just wanted to post some things that I think will help others making the transition to CM12.
1. I had initial problems with 5GHz WiFi where it wouldn't connect. Switching to channel 48 on my router worked, but I didn't like it as a long-term solution. Luckily, I found that editing the nvram_net file located in system/etc/wifi solved the problem and I now can connect to my router using the 5GHz band set at channel 153. You have to change the ccode from GB to 0. Make sure you save the file after editing. I fear that the problem will return when the next build is released, but I at least know how to fix it.
2. Titanium Backup didn't work initially; updated the SUbinary with SuperSU and all was right in the world.
Hope this helps anyone encountering these same issues.

For me this problem is still there, even with the last official nigthly. Or am I missing something?

I am not sure how many times I have wiped and reloaded CM12. Returned to factory load and wiped and tried other ways but GPS will not lock. I returned to CM 11 and GPS works fine... I am at a loss as to what the problem might be!
Help would be greatly appreciated.
CM12 is wonderful except for this problem which no one else seems to have.
Well no kernel messages?
Or maybe a stricter gps.conf on CM12? Tried using gps.conf from CM11?
Auto update engine (config, about, update) dont work for me...

You, Sir, are amazing!
Installed the 20150304 nightly and the stock gapps package from here about an hour ago. So far no problems with any of my standard applications (restored from Titanium backups).
Thank you for Lollipop. I did the same as M0lle (thanks for the gapps links ), and everything looks great but there is just one thing that I've noticed. On my device it seems that the widgets are not added automatically. I had to restart the tablet a few times when I installed new widgets to populate the widget window. Could it be just that I forgot something along the process? Is somebody else experiencing the same issue? Cheers
Edit: deleted cache and everything is fine now. Thanks.
Everything works just fine except video streaming.
No problems in YouTube app, but in all other apps (also in chrome). After a few minutes of video streaming the picture stops and the sound is still playing. Happens every time.
Apps i tried which have the problem: MX Player Pro, South Park App, Chrome (NowVideo, Ecostream, MovShare, Vivo)
Update 20.03.2015

Okay thanks
Nice April Fools joke in the "Android is upgrading" box with the 20150401 nightly.
Working great !
2 questions :
* Is it possible to implement an shortcut in the task bar a widget to change the sound from ring to vibrate to silence to ring like in 4.4
* Is it possible to have the "old" exchanged mail account because I dont like it included in Gmail
Thank you very much for your great work !!!

Hi, crpalmer! Thanks for CyanogenMod for 525th. At your source download.crpalmer.org has Cyan 12.1, but it's links and thread I don't see. I installed on my Tab - not without bugs, but works well. In this thread to discuss 12.1?

Hi, it's working really great. Thanks a lot for the good work.
The only difference I see is the battery life. But I guess it has to be expected. Do you know if there is a way to improve the battery life on this ROM.
Thanks
@crpalmer, are these nightlies going to be updated or are you not supporting this devices anymore.
Thanks.

CM-12.0 is basically EOL as far as I am concerned. You should really switch to CM-12.1 which is better at that point.
I am definitely still suporting cm-12.1 on picassolte.

[5.1.x] [SM-T520] CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightlies for the Tab Pro 10.1 Wifi (picassowifi)

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.0.x (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Instructions
First time flashing CyanogenMod 12.0 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s).
Install a compatible Recovery
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM (Optional)
Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (required when coming from stock!).
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.

You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates me more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking.
If you are the only one having a problem. Boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.

hi crpalmer
rom installation ultra easy, ultra fast, really no problem
full gapps installation ultra easy, ultra fast, really no problem
it's really a pleasure, i know i'm not a hard user
to keep myself very happy i do a full wipes, and use "easy battery calibration", & a backup
& perhaps "Black Hole Debloating"
many thanks

Can I get some help. I cant get it to install. I get an failed executing binary in zip. This is supposed to work with sm-t900 (Samsung Galaxy Tab 12.2) also?
Same question as above. I've got a Tab 12.2 and I'd like to install this.
Hi two boys
what is your recovery
i think this rom is dedicated to 520
regards
Hello
Does the 5.1 xposed work with the 12.1 build.?
hi boy
there is a specific 5.1 xposed zip (zip marked 5.1)
it's ok on myb 520
regards
Thank you. I just ask because on my phone it does not work with 5.1 and I flashed the 5.1 version. But good to know. Thank you
Ok I flashed the 19/4 build, 5.1 gapps and the 5.1 xposedmodul.. After setting up everything I installed the xposed installer, picked my modules and restarted.. Now I hang on bootlogo bootloop... Same as on my phone.. How to solve this?
This would be a good time to remind you all that I do not accept bug reports when running xposed. Xposed is a bad idea and the changes it make to a running system are never properly tested and vetted like proper changes to CyanogenMod.
Nice and smooth, had a problem with apex launcher after dirty flashing that was fixed after a clean install.
Thanks a lot crpalmer :good:

I haven't rooted yet. I was waiting for awhile for Samsung to upgrade to 5.0, and I'm done waiting.
@crpalmer, do you know if this will work on a 12.2 tablet?
Stuck in TWRP
TWRP v2.8.6.0 won't finish install of the 4/18 nightly...stuck on "Patching system image unconditionally" and will still be there after 45 minutes or so. Trying clean flash (I try not to dirty flash if I don't have to), and no issues with CM 11 or 12 before this. Also, ADB sideload is not recognizing the tablet anymore, so no luck trying to sideload so far eitther. Any ideas? Thanks in advance everyone!
I think there is a Problem with the Nightlies. When looking to Jenkins I see the builds were successful yesterday and today, but there were no download or changelog provided. When looking to the console Output of the build there are some strange warnings about possible DNS spoofing at the end. Would be nice if you could take a look at this.
many thanks
regards
hello
i installed, i install all nightlies with each time the last twrp with no problem
i think it's a problem of wipes, dowloading, ..
regards
oh, sorry if you misunderstood me, the only cm12.1 nightly from 04/18 is working perfectly fine for me. i meant there is a Problem with building newer nightlies since then.

Hey crpalmer,
thanks for this great rom. Everything works perfect
Do you plan to make this an official rom or is it to much work for the amount of users?
Thanks,
Chris
@Chris1308
What is your experience with this rom, any problems?
I'm using Cyanogenmod 11 but need to upgrade due to google battery drain problem.
So I'm interested in your user experience.

Andre

It was blocked for a long time on a problem with the splash screen on boot (that made it too incomplete for official status). I fixed that relatively recently but it would require a fair bit of work to make it official right now (consolidating it with mondrianwifi and potentially breaking it) and you're right that the user base seems too small to invest the time into that.
Hi crpalmer,
Just a quick message to let you know that I installed this ROM as well and it seems to work really well. Many thanks for your work! Pity that Samsung releases so many versions of their tablets. I understand that you can't maintain and fully support CM versions for all of them.
Thanks,
Hubert
Hello crpalmer,
Thank you for your work.
I have intalled the newest 12.1 version, works perfect.
Regards
Andre
I've had some issues with the latest nightlies.
First I upgraded from 20150812 to 20150826. With the new version everything else worked fine except Chrome. On starting the app I got an "Unfortunately, Chrome has stopped" message and the app just didn't work.
Because of this I downgraded to 20150821 with which I got a "process com.android.phone has stopped" message when booting finished. This message kept on popping up with no way around it. Then I upgraded to 20150824 and the same issue with the phone process remained.
Then I went back to 20150826 (didn't have the 20150812 image available anymore). Phone started working but Chrome still didn't. I also tried Chrome Beta and the same thing happened. Dolphin, on the other hand, worked without problems.
Edit: On logcat I saw the following message which may be related to the Chrome issue:
Code:
Shutting down VM
FATAL EXCEPTION: main
Process: com.android.chrome:sandboxed_process2, PID: 10411
java.lang.SecurityException: Isolated process not allowed to call getContentProvider
Edit2: Decided to try the 20150825 nightly as a "last resort". Now both Phone and Chrome work.
The issue with Chrome seems to have been fixed in the 20150827 nightly:

..
Builtin encryption does not work with this realese can it be fixed?

Big Thanks for crpalmer for this nice firmware, i like it!
Is anybody else having issues with MX Player 1.7.40 and HW+ decoder? Streams that worked on stock rom aren't with this custom rom.
MX Player switches to software decoder and playback is stuttering.
Another issue is that the IR isn't working for me. On stock rom I was able to control my set top box with the tablet an the ZappIR app. I've also tried other apps, but with the same results.
Rotating the screen by 180 degree doesn't work either, although I enabled it for 0, 90, 180 and 270 degree in the settings.
I've turned off nightly builds for the CM 12.1 version of this ROM and started nightly builds for CM 13.0. Please see the new thread I created for that:
