QPST: EFS Explorer + HTC One A9? - HTC One A9

I can load QPST, it sees the A9 just fine, but when I load EFS Explorer it gives an error about not being able to read. It works fine with M8... haven't tried the M9. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks!

[Q] HTC Sync Reinstall error 1152

I unistalled HTC sync and when I try to reinstall I get the message "1152: Error extracting C:\Users\Dada\AppData\Local\Temp\{1B4A9E0 PC Suite.msi to the temporary location" (the #'s and characters after temp are always different)
Anyway I've tried:
1) Running the installer as administrator just in case.
2) Right clicking the install file and installing it using the 'troubleshoot compatibility' option. Same error code.
3) Searching for any remaining files using windows search for 'htc' yet no results.
4) Searched other threads and heard repairing the file or deleting it will fix the problem yet I can't find the above folder, specifically looking in the 'dada' folder for the 'appdata' folder, not there. Then searching using windows search for 'appdata' yet no results found
I am using Windows 7 64-bit and HTC sync 2.0.40. My user account "Dada" is set as the administrator. Using a rooted EVO4g with freshevo 3.4.0.1(not that my phone should matter). Rooted perfectly with this method, since been outdated but not when I rooted. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765496
HTC sync and the root worked fine the first time, so I know its compatible with my computer. Something must have happened when I uninstalled it using uninstall programs under control panel.
Obvioulsy I'm not a computer programmer, can anyone figure this out. Thanks.
1152 HTC Error FIXED!!!
I encountered the exact same problem w/ my new HTC Aria when trying to install the HTCSync.exe file. I went to CNet and downloaded a free registry cleaner. Once downloaded, run a 'FULL SCAN' then click on the 'FIX ERRORS' tab for them to be repaired. Once they're repaired, goto HTC, then whichever support area depending on country and select your phone type and GO' ,to the right of the drop-down,. Next, open the 'DOWNLOADS' tab and enter your Serial number from your HTC phone and submit. Below your Serial number a 'DOWNLOAD' will be available. Click it, either open or save the file. Once downloaded, try again reloading the HTCSync.exe file snd it should resolve all your problems. G'day
All about the registry cleaner
Worked like a charm. Thanks.
What's frustrating is before I even posted the original question I tried using a registry cleaner and then reinstalling htc sync. I used C Cleaner. The registry cleaner you recommended was more in depth and obviously worked better.
Eusing free registry cleaner
download.cnet.com/.../3000-2094_4-10521691.html
Thanks again,
Kutt
I had the same problem, thanks
But if like me--doing the Eusing registry didn't help try to scan registry in "safe mode" and repair. Then, shut down and restart normally. Try to download HTC Sync
again(doesn't matter if you use the previous installation) and it should work. Cheers

[Q] ADB driver with HTC Desire HD

Hello guys,
as many of us, I cant recognise my HDD under windows to be able to sync Lotus with the phone directly.
I tried everything, but it seems nothing working....
using HTC sync (both the last version and the version I had on the phone SD card), it says that the driver installation has failed...
I tried also to edit the android-winusb.inf adding lines, but even this doesn't work...
I can see my phone as USB drive....but not in sync mode...
Any other suggestions????
Is it possible that there is no a single file that can solve it???
Thanks mates!

[Q] Android 2.3.1 Tablet - Gingerbreak not working

Hi, I have a 8" Tablet with Android 2.3.1 and Samsung S5PV210 processor.
I'm trying to gain root access, but I'm having particularry hard times doing it. Basically, I found I don't have the su command neither inside system/bin nor system/xbin directories.
All the root methods (I found till now) are based on a .bat file, but fail because su: command not found.
Gingerbreak fails too, it stays forever spinning trying to root, it crashes when I rotate the tablet; sometime, once every 5 attemps, it reboot the tablet, but fails to root it :\
What can I do, where can I find mor info on the rooting process?
Tnx.
exact same problem.... no one with a solution ?
Cant beleive no one answered this one yet
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
Same problem as well
Little help here ? ;-)

Might want to try reading through this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
If you can't find the answer there, then ask in that thread, those people know best how that method works.
I had the same problem... i tried them all, z4root, androot, gingerbreak, and super one click to no avail... I then stumbled on SUPER ONE CLICK 2.2 and it rooted first try no problem..
the S5PV210 CAN be rooted
I looked for three days trying to find a way to root this Chinese Samsung tablet knock off. Finally I used Super Click 2.3.3.0 You can find it at download.cnet.com
Download and unzip the file. I unzipped it to a USB stick -- just to make it portable.
You only have to connect the tablet to an XP computer with a USB cable. Then you must load the driver for the tablet when prompted by Windows. The driver has been provided for you. Just browse to the drivers folder in the unzipped software. Then run SuperOneClick.exe Click the Root button. Done.
Trust me. Skip all other advice. Nothing else could be easier than this.

[Q] Sensation and Droid explorer

I have just received my sensation this morning. It is an amazing phone. I have had the HD2 for nearly two years now and ran android on it for the last few months.
I have put S-OFF on and rooted my phone with out any problems. I then connected it to droid explorer. Droid see's the phone and connects to it, but doesn't bring up any directories or files.
Is there anything I am doing wrong?
Other issue I have is the weather keeps dissapearing and I have to sync it again. Very odd.

Hey, I've ran across this issue before and apparently it has to do with permissions of ADB and the sensation. Only solution I had was to change permissions (suggested in quote below)
"this has to do with the default permissions of /data. ADB, which is what Droid Explorer uses to currently communicate with your device, does not have 'root' access in the shell and some directory like /data dont allow you to access them unless you have root permissions. This is something that is being worked on, but I do not have an ETA yet to when it will be released. Another option is to change the permissions to /data with chmod."
Droid Explorer
EDIT: I just did this with a different computer as well to make sure it works. As long as your device is rooted:
- Install ES File Explorer.
- Open its settings, enable Root Explorer.
- Click on the star for favorites, phone, and it should open up root directory.
- Hold down on /data, scroll to the bottom and select view permissions. If the permissions are not set correctly, reset them (rwxrwx--x)
- Plug USB back in, make sure you are using HTC Sync (not disk drive), check that adb recognizes the device (adb devices)
- Open up Droid Explorer and you should be able to use it to navigate!
Treid that and the permissions were set to rwxrwx--x all ready. It is still not working. It is not a big issue. I can do everything I need through root explorer and I can still install apps using droid but it would be nice to get this to work!

[CDMA] WP7 EFS Access?

OK.. I'm at my wit's end.
I'm used to programming CDMA phones (Android) to other carriers. One such carrier (Verizon) requires a file to be written in the /DMU/ folder of the EFS filesystem. Trouble is, WP7 doesn't have an EFS filesystem that I can find.
Where on WP7 or WP7.5 is this?? Qpst says that the phone doesn't support EFS, as well as QMAT, and DFS. In android, this is normally part of the radio, but doesn't seem to be the case in WP7. I've got the latest QPST, QXDM, etc. But I think the file resides somewhere on the phone OS filesystem, and not in the radio.
Without this file, the phone never authenticates for 3G... it drops back to 1X.
Anyone, please help! I'd like to get one of these on Pageplus (the Arrive), which IMHO is better than VZ's model. (I like the slider).
Thanks in advance for any insight.

its not specific to WP, it must be do to with your phone its self
I have the Focus S and have access to much of the EFS, but not all, I used EFS explorer in QPST, I can read and write but as yet ive not been able to get access to /sfs /nvm or /efs_private
Can you connect to your device at all with QPST?
Hmm.. that's interesting. I'd assumed it was a WP7 thing, but if you've got a WP7 device and can use QPST EFS explorer, then it may actually be an HTC Arrive or 7 Pro thing.
I use EFS explorer on other devices, and was able to use QPST and DFS and CDMA Workshop on the arrive. EFS Explorer said that the phone doesn't support an embedded file system.
Any thoughts?

do you have your SPC code?
I used RevSkills tool to change mine to all zeros, I did that first before even attempting to use EFS so I cant be sure if that is why it wouldn't work but its an idea
the other thing is the diagnostic mode, how are you doing this? do you put it in to download mode? or do you use some kind of tool to change the USB mode to USB diagnostic mode WITHIN windows phone? I can only get the latter to work, but that doesn't give me full access to the file system, I cant get download mode to work at all which is a real pain in the arse!
