This is the build from official slim servers.

But why so many posts? It wasn't accidental

Can't find a tutorial or any info for the installation of SimromLP for my Sprint S5 G900P. Maybe this is a noob question, but can I just install the .zip from custom recovery just like I did for MOAR V7? I'm running MOAR V7 (build MOARV7.0 OA6) (kernel: 3.4.0-3859396 [email protected] #1 Fri Jan 23 12:06:25 KST 2015) which installed from software version G900PVPU3BOG1. I'm on Android 5.0 - do I need to upgrade to 5-.-? and how? My S5 has also been domestically sim unlocked with idoneapps - would it affect that? I'm relatively new to Android but I can follow direction well, just can't find any info on this. I'd love to give this ROM a spin.

Can some admin delete all these useless threads this guy created.....

I think personally if you don't have a clue what you are doing and you need a manual to flash a ROM and you don't understand the risks that come with it, well then you probably shouldn't be messing with your phone to this extent...just my humble opinion!

That was a snide remark. I'm fully aware of how to flash a ROM; my phone is rooted, domestically sim unlocked and "flashed" to MOAR V7.0 and it works just swell. If your aim is to insult me to make yourself feel better, at least have the courtesy to be face to face or read a little more into things. There is no documentation or support for this ROM on the Sprint S5. I'd like to give this ROM a spin, but I'm not going to just boot into custom recovery and install this ROM blindly. And what's with the multiple useless posts by this guy. Like I said, theres no documentation or support. Don't bother responding as I'm all set.

My attitude is fine as long as Im not feeling as though I'm getting backhanded comments. I think we both have better things to do than this. So lets drop it.

I went ahead and flashed SlimLP. A red outline flickers around screen and flashes every time you hit a button, and the interface is very choppy. I was expecting a trimmed down fast OS but apparently it's still an early BETA and buggy. It does look nice though.

Yeah there are a lot of people here that would rather leave a smart-alec comment than give a simple answer. I did end up flashing it on my g900p and it ran pretty rough. Real rough. So I wouldn't bother with it. But I have found that you can flash your g900p with just about any g900F custom ROM and it will work better for a GSM carrier than a g900p ROM will (much better connectivity). Hope this helps.

How do you actually download the slim ROM zip file

Where can I download it ?

Wow, so many SlimRom post for no reason. This guy needs to stop

Perfect Android is a redistribution of the Android Open Source Project and Google software code that I have lightly modified to make as a daily driver for myself that I'm sharing with the community. This project doesn't have and won't focus on adding a ton of features and mods but instead focus on stability, and reliability so yes basically this is a stock like rom but not just stock my only efforts will be to make it run better, and be more polished, and complete.

Always remember that XDA started out as a great place and will remain a great place as long as we are great to each other anything used in this ROM is available upon request and feel free to use this as a base rom for any other project my ROM is un-branded just give me some mention .......

AOSP 4.2 ROM so quickly? That will be interesting
Can you have some screenshots?
yep its uploaded
it looks just like stock I built it to be at least as good as what you get from google if everything is working correctly that is when I will begin modifying but for now it looks like the stock ROM so I didn't think screenshots would be needed
first of all you have to give us changelog, then i'll flash it, because now i don't know exactly what are the differences between Your rom and stock, so is it worth flash it?

Its solely up to you guys if you want to flash it as this is an expensive hobby for me I'm just sharing what I do with the community so is it worth it, for me yeah, for you I really don't care, I hope I'm not coming off as an ass but I have to draw a line somewhere. I not making any claims with this ROM I just sharing it if you use it fine if not fine, I don't get into the whole screenshots large claims huge changelog thing I just post and share I also maintain this ROM for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus which it has done just fine so if you want you can do a search here and see what and where I come from .......
I'm very happy when see any new rom in N7 development, because nexus need fresh look from developers, so i was thinking that You could push some new tweaks into ours devices. Almost all roms here are just "cleaned" or "minimalistic" or "performanced" in real these rom are almost stock with the same user experience. So do not get angry when I want to know if there will be something more here...
Does it work with twrp?
After flash with twrp, I see the information is Android 4.2 JOP40C. I dont know whether it is flashed or not?
I will happily try your rom to see how it compares to CleanRom, give my feedback tomorrow

I'm not getting angry with you in fact I agree however, regardless of how you feel about those roms someone still put that effort into them. Honestly for me the N7 is a new device and before I go making claims that my ROM can start your car and end world hunger I want to make sure that it at least meets stock standards. AOSP has done a lot of work to somewhat remove google entries in their code so it has taken me a few days to re-build AOSP code to work correctly with G-APPS and other Google code I do NOT claim to be an over the top developer I just do this as a pastime I have certain things that I do not like and thats why I have started making my own ROMs so that I always get what I want. Now I can tell you this and I know this as a fact THIS IS NOT A WINZIP KITCHEN ROM IT IS BUILT FROM SOURCE it took hella work to get it up to a win zip ROM and thats where we're at so far lol. When I learn all the changes to the 4.2 coding I will start to add small feature to my ROM.

Just flashed it. The first bug that I noticed is that the sim card probably is not detected as I have no network connection (didn't ask for pin code and manual network selection gives an error).

Why that is bad? In my opinion it is better, so everyone can use whatever he wants, that is the meaning of open source.
Ok it may not good too have x1000 cm10.1 roms and x1000 avatar roms (like in gb times), but having 1(or 2) of each rom type is quite good in my opinion.

OMGz, dey using exizting stuff!
Ok, seriously, this got sooooo childish over time. I really think nikez & the while team are doing an amazing job, fo' sure.
+ They are open source which is amazing.
So, why would anyone really rewrite the whole thing? Just to grow some imaginary balls? What would you do?
The only question is:
If they (Avatar & everyone who uses their sources) improve the existing stuff, do they also release the sources for everyone?
Have a nice day and please rethink your opinion about this and open source in general.
Sure they haven't mentioned Evervolv yet, but I hope they will edit OP soon and match the rules.
By the way, 99% of those you accuse of "kanging" don't even kang, so get your facts right.
Kanging implies that they use Evervolv code (in this case) and don't admit it.
(I don't even mention that they (EV) would be lost without CAF, Google, CM sources etc.)

HI op if you want the avatar theme to be the theme applied when Rom is booted for the very 1st time add this to build.prop
persist.sys.themePackageName=com.avatar.theme.Denim
Then the avatar theme will be loaded up by default every time the phone is booted up thanks x

Not carrying on the rant over here lol but Come on guy's the whole Rom is not evervolv's just because they ported the Rom DONT make every single app or code in the rom theirs. Yes they may have coded SOME things but NOT everything. So what if the OP used most of the current avatar rom he HAS THE RIGHT to because android is OPEN SOURCE. I am fed up with members on xda all they care about is THIS IS MINE NA NA NA NA NA get a grip of yourselve's are you really going to act like a child for a few codes and a few apps ???? My 2 year old daughter would laugh at you for acting more like a child than she is. Come on guy's developers should SHARE not argue and point the fingers at eachother. And if people didnt KANG or whatever the hell you want to call it then where would most of the rom's on xda be ????? Every developer os sense Rom's KANGED HTC do you see them coming on here chucking their dummy's out the pram ???? because i dont see them doing that. I think it is sad it has to come down to developers arguing like children over some damn files when they should be sticking together like a comunity should. This is why most good hearted developers LEAVE xda because the developers are selfish and act like children. That's all i have to say on the matter. Now i tend to my CHILD. Take care xxxx

I don't understand why everyone starts to accuse people of basing their rom on others' source. Isn't that the whole poing of open source and sourse sharing?
This way, google should accuse and sue every single developer for using the Android source.
So lets just enjoy this ROM, and appreciate that there are still people who work for this device.
Okay I tested this rom and I have to say it's fast but 2 bugs : There is no signal ( probably simcard not detected but not sure) , graphical glitches ( everywhere, not only in YouTube app, the screen kinda tears and acts weird, everyone should know what I mean) . I tested it for a while and that's the bugs I found. It's fast ROM but the glitches and other bugs make me to not use this ROM for now.

[ROM][AOSP][DEV][WIP][S4] Unofficial OmniROM 4.4 CLOSED!

Why Omni?
Omni is what custom ROMs used to be about – innovation, new features, transparency, community, and freedom. Our goal is to experiment with Android development because we enjoy it. Omni isn’t better, just different. It’s another option for the billion Android users out there. Android (vs. iOS and every other mobile OS) has thrived on options as well as the gigantic, talented development community that has emerged to build those options. That’s the beauty of Android – that you can pick and choose from a smorgasbord of devices with varying features and functionality.
Omni is a chance to get involved, no matter who you are. Developers, whether you’ve been developing apps for a week, or ROM features for 3 years, you’re welcome. Users, we know you want to help out, and now you can – Omni actively encourages bug reports and feature requests, which can be added to our publicly accessible roadmap. What’s the point in giving you a ROM, and forcing you to not tell us about any bugs you find?
We also recognise how people use Custom ROMs – we’re all custom ROM users and developers ourselves – the argument that “nightlies are not for end users” is over-used, and no longer valid. We’ve found that the vast majority of users want to get nightly updates to their ROM. For that reason, nightlies aren’t a playground – nightlies are for new features that are finished. You should be able to expect the same stability and reliability from a nightly as you would from a “release” ROM, and can report any bugs that prevent this from happening.
We know not everyone wants to update their ROM daily, and you are free to update as frequently or infrequently as you like. Omni is about flexibility and giving users what they expect – and we are excited to see where the community goes with it.

I am looking into the possibility that something in one of the config files is looking for CDMA. However all the ville specific stuff is from CM but edited to use omni sources for the build instead of CM and the msm8960 and s4-common repos that I forked are for all of the HTC S4 based devices regardless of radio support and could have just as easily been forked from CM but required to much editing of the various omni dependencies so I used his stuff.

I'll will try.
- Lock screen delay is more than on the CM roms?
- If you open an app, and more to another page inside the app, a red square appears around the screen. (if you unlock your phone for example)
The SDcard partition (i think mmpcblk0p36) is not mounted!
A page with the red square issue!

I will check if that's whats missing. I am not sure how to disable strict mode by default since its a setting. Lock screen delay should be the same as cm since its the same kernel.

Strict mode is not enabled so I am not sure what the red box is...I tried to format from inside the rom, that did nothing. All the mount points are correct...so I am looking at other possible causes like recovery etc.

I thought this was the forum for Flo/Razor and the original development forum was was Grouper/Nakasi, although I may be mistaken.
EDIT: My mistake, it looks like they've changed the forums, been a while since I was last here.

Check the third post of the thread below, lots of resources for unlocking your bootloader, rooting and installing custom recoveries. Read read read and come back if you have any questions/need any help. There is also a toolkit by Wugfresh in the development section, which is pretty straight forward if you prefer.

I'm trying this one on my Nexus 7 2012. This is exactly what I was looking for (fast and lightweight).
So far performance is great! Good work!
There is some privacy guard to control app permission in the rom?

Ramping up to push out the 5.1.1_r2 update. I'm not really sure what to add, since I imagine my rom to be as close to stock as possible, with only a couple added things. I'm thinking an Advanced Power Menu.
Cool. I'm on a N7 (2012). Will I need to flash a tablet tips zip for the different dpi setting or is this already set up for that? Thanks in advance.
I would appreciate the APM. Also, does this ROM support F2FS or data and cache?

Thread closed - Source still not apparent in OP.
I'm suspending this project since there doesn't seem to be a big interest in it and I have other things to move on and do. There are plenty of other Roms for grouper. If I see a big interest spark for my ROM to return, I'll look into it. Thanks everyone!
Thanks

[ROM][Official]CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightlies for the Verizon Galaxy S3 (d2vzw)
CyanogenMod and D2VZW: Together Again!
--------------------DANGER!! CMUpdater is providing the new CM13 Marshmallow nightly builds and notifying you of an update. IT SEEMS THERE ARE NO MORE UPDATES FOR CM12! 12/10 seems to be the last one. If you flash CM13 without looking into things first, you could be in for a world of hurt! Check out invisiblek's Official CM13 Nightlies thread in this same forum. BEWARE!!--------------------
De-unified Lollipop builds for the Galaxy S3 line. This is for the Verizon variant (SCH-I535) only
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.1.x which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Notes:
Please Use Firmware: VRBMF1
and
Modem/Baseband Version: NE1 (Also, see "Notes - Possible Bugs" section below)
(EDIT: The following statement might not be true. It happened to one user. Unsure about circumstances... If you've done it or want to try, please tell us what happens.)If you have recently downgraded firmware from 4.3 to 4.1.2, DO NOT flash the MF1 firmware. You'll brick your device!
If you know you never took the 4.3 OTA, then you can flash the firmware and modem to your hearts content.
CWM Recovery addicts: Please seriously consider giving up CWM and come on board with what works for sure with 5.1.x, TWRP. Problems have been coming up with CWM users so if you have one, that's were to start. Hopefully there's a 12-step program somewhere for y'all

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit the Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Regarding the Stagefright Exploit: The latest patch update to protect against the security vulnerability was merged for the 8/14 nightly. Please update to that or later to make sure you are fully protected, though work still continues.

Download Links :: Download Links Broken!! - On or about 12/18 the links for 12.1 ceased to function. The links for 12.1 and 13 are all listed on the same page at the moment as well. While 12.1 builds have continued to come out every few days or so for other devices, the last one for the d2vzw is for 12/10 at the moment. I don't know if this is a temporary of permanent state of affairs but inquiries are forth coming. In the mean time, the 12/10 build is in the "d2vzw ROM Extras" link below so at least we got that, thanks to XdrummerXboy.
Also, if you have a build from about 11/15 and later hanging around you could upload it for others to access, if need be, by following the instructions from this post: Upload Instructions
CyanogenMod:
Nightly: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=d2vzw&type=nightly LINKS ONLY WORKS FOR CM13 NOW!!
Download with daily commits tracked:http://www.cmxlog.com/12.1/d2vzw/
>>These are the de-unified d2vzw builds now instead of the d2lte builds you previously used<<
Google apps addon:
TK Modular GApps by TKruzze. Get your GApps from the Master. Follow his installation instructions.
Open GApps:opengapps.orgThey are modular AND have the option of Aroma Installer. Updated daily. Very interesting story on these. There is the website, and an XDA thread.
>>>WARNING!!<<< The first time one installs Open GApps, you have to do it with a ROM update (or reinstall current ROM) AND manually wipe the system partition first. Then install the ROM and the GApps normally, then wipe Dalvik and Cache. After that, you can flash them anytime. (More info on Website.) ALSO, for now, don't install Webview as it might not work. There is an "Android System Webview" in the Play Store that will work.
Other Options:
The Gapps Central For those of you who just have to be different, a GApps Smorgasbord, by TheXGX
Banks Gapps removed after just one too many malfunctions... If you use 'em and have a problem, update from the Play Store your offending app or flash one of these others, but don't come complainin'.
Firmware and Modem thanks to Invisiblek
Download - MF1 firmware with NE1 modem Combo: http://www.invisiblek.org/firmware/d2/d2vzw_MF1_firmware_NE1_modem.zip (md5sum: 7a49bb13c1160f4d4a89488127684b5b)
A MF1 firmware only zip is in the "d2vzw ROM Extras" link below, as well as individual modem choices.
Other Possibly Useful Stuff
d2vzw ROM Extras
Link to TWRP Recovery You can flash the .img file right in TWRP recovery 2.8.4 or later!
- All you ever wanted to know about how Cell service works but were afraid to ask: Cell Wiki
- Samsung Galaxy S 3 the most popular phone of all time? Still? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_III
Notes - Possible Bugs
Bluetooth observed as flaky with some connected devices.
CMUpdater apparently only functional with TWRP 2.8.7.0
4G/LTE Data might not start on bootup (lately) - With Wifi disconnected or off, go to Settings>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names and select one of those not already selected. Give it a few seconds. Should be good till next reboot.
Addendum to Data Issue: If you can't live with the above solution (like me) then downgrading to the ML1 modem has fixed it, seemingly without any ill effects. Modem is in the "d2vzw ROM Extras" link above.
>>Attention ATT, T-Mobile and other GSM Network Users (International)<<
If you use your d2vzw on one of the GSM networks, you will have to flash the d2gsm_rilblobs.zip file in the 'd2vzw ROM Extras' link above or your phone won't operate properly!
The CyanogenMod team (of which I'm not a member) always thanks everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!
Another Note: CM12 was introduced to our phone first by mastamoon and Invisiblek: Many thanks to them! There may be data on those threads that can help someone, so I've included those links for reference:
Mastamoon's Unofficial CM12 (and cm11) thread.

@Master Cylinder, you can use mine for now.. http://mastamoon.truelinux.net/firmware/ Just note that you have to flash the firmware first, then the modem. Otherwise the firmware, which contains a modem, will overwrite the newer modem.
CyanDelta sounds greate. However, I get FC with it. Reboot does not help.
I'm on 5/13 nightly.
Anyone has the similar problem?

And you downloaded or had a 5/13 build zip to operate from to setup? And you had at least 750mb free space before pushing the zip over or dloading it? Maybe one needs more than that amount space? When did it fc?

The speed of progress is what makes those threads age so quickly, but for those of you who are sentimantal, and to afford worthy applause to @mastamoon and @invisiblek, I've put in links.
