[Update] T-Mobile does NOT have other colors in stock! - T-Mobile LG V10 General

JohnG: Hi James!
You: Hi there sir
JohnG: I can go ahead and check if T-Mobile do have the white model.
JohnG: No worries, I'm on it.
You: Thank you very much
JohnG: You're most welcome. I'm seeing here that T-Mobile is also selling LG V10 in different colors, we are just only showing the black basic colors, but you can definitely choose from the colors by visiting at the stores, definitely we do have the stocks and it will be much better to visit the store today since today is the launch date of the LG V10.
JohnG: If you have further questions feel free to ask. I will do my best to help you.
You: Oh no that's fantastic news, thank you very much

Getting the White/Gold today! See ya Note 4. Hope development picks up but if it doesn't I'll still be happy with this phone.
Edit: After multiple other conversations with reps and visiting multiple T-Mobile stores it doesn't seem that there are other colors available for the T-Mobile LG V10. Holding off my purchase for the time being as pathetic as it sounds (Holding off a purchase for a color?!)

I thought the White/Gold was exclusive to Verizon?
It might be the Oatmeal/Gold. They can look the same in bad lighting.

Is that so? Haven't gone to the store yet to confirm

Im on my way to check

Nope just black and it is sold out already.

I just got back to the office with mine. The store closest to me got their shipment in while I was walking in. 25 devices, all black.

Hmm, maybe the rep I got was misinformed. It could be that stores are getting black shipments first?
Sorry for spreading false info guys! I'll have to double check asap.

Just picked mine up locally. Retail location only got 5 in stock and i was the first to purchase one. The employees havent even handled one before mine. Store had All black phones; no other colors available yet.

Sounds like the rep was misinformed. T-Mobile has no literature for other colors and has never mentioned other colors. If anything they'll offer the other blue or beige. They definitely won't get white as Verizon has already claimed exclusivity and I doubt they'd offer the same blue that AT&T has.

T-Mobile chat support is about like calling Verizon for T-Mobile support LOL

Tmobile is only getting black..... Close thread lol.

I read somewhere that tmobile will only be carrying black and the remaining colors will be available through att. I believe this was in the contract with lg and tmobile.

I'm really interested in a white and gold one. Anyone know which international version will work with LTE on T-Mobile?
Will At&t's V10 work on T-Mobile if you unlock it?

I ordered mine on Monday and the only color T mobile had was black. Luckily black was what I wanted anyhow. $499.00 for a 64 gig LG V10, comparing that a 64 gig Iphone 6s is $799.00 . that's $300.00 more for in my opinion an inferior phone. I had the Iphone 6+ for 18 months, and in between jailbreaks it was pretty useless as far as a smart phone goes..just good for making calls, texts, and taking pics.. very boring phone. Again this is my opinion. Some people might like that.

How did you get it at $499? The price is normally $599.

[Q] I need a nexus S

Help me out My daughter is set for upgrade. she wanted a Nexus S. Sprint says it is no longer available. i have talked to telesales, stores, and retention. Does anyone know how to get one. from sprint using an upgrade has anyone recently gotten one? There are no other phones avail on sprint that she likes. The newer high end phones... in her words " are too big to put in a pocket of any pants I own" I had to laugh but very true
any help or input in appreciated
edit I am still on sprints everything plus family plan which does limit my options. I can only get an upgrade direct from sprint, I cannot use third party stores, otherwise I lose my plan.
Sadly Sales for the NS4G thru Sprint are discontinued . Your only option it seems is to get one secondhand. The GSM ones are much rarer to find for cheap. I've seen the 4G ones being sold for 30 bucks in great condition on Craigslist over here in NY.
What about best buy or amazon wireless
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday, for a hamburger today..........
thanks guys.... tried all that... I was actually had one in my hand at a third party retailer but they could not add it to my account because of the everything plus plan. and no phone is worth losing that
topic still open how to get one directly from sprint
You could always purchase one off of Craigslist. Not sure about your location, I see tons of Sprint NS posted here in MN. Have the seller meet you at the Sprint store, or if you are trusting that its ESN is clear... bring it into the store and have them set it up. I've seen people do this quite often.

I can get them unlocked from our local carrier ...
... but I'm in Canada. You could try them for a direct outright purchase. All their phones are unlocked. dmts.biz/cellular-phones/
They only have 20 or so left though. Debating setting my wife up with one. They're going on promo next week for $100 with a one year commitment, $0 on 2 yr. Not sure if they're dropping the outright purchase price though. Currently showing as $525 (Canadian ... about $520US LOL).
(Oddly, I was just in there talking to them two hours ago about it.)
http://www.cowboom.com/, owned by Best Buy. They have them used for $99, all rated on a condition scale and most with pictures.
Their condition scale is actually pretty generous. Mine was labeled a "5" (out of 10, I think) and labeled as light scuffs and scratches. I'll be damned if I could find anything beyond a couple of nicks on the battery cover tab.
no go in Arizona on a used one. they seem to be real popular on Cricket and are still getting almost 200 used on craigslist. but thanks

To wait or not to wait... That is the question!

Hello folks! Well, let me preface my question with this: I love my infuse. Unfortunately, AT&T has become to expensive, so I must switch over to another carrier. I'm 15 so I don't really have a source of income, but I would very much like a new phone. I will most likely be switching over to Verizon, and getting a phone then. So here is my main question: Should I buy the SGS3 VZW variant, or wait for a while until Google releases their new line-up?
Things I am looking for in a phone:
Screen size: 4.5-5.0''
Brand: Samsung, Motorola, or Nexus branded phone (Preferably Samsung)
Micro SD: Must have (I bought a 64GB Sandisk for 100$)
CPU: Preferably a Quad-core, dual would be acceptable if overclockable.
Ram: Preferably 2GB, 1GB is acceptable (I hear that Android utilizes RAM very efficiently)
Radio: As long as it has 3G, I'm fine
Audio card: Preferably something with a Wolfson, I really enjoy Voodoo Sound
Camera: The higher the better (preferably with a low shutter lag camera)
Thank you guys for your time,
Connor Baker
Here's the thing. Verizon I find is the most expensive of the bunch. So if your looking to save money I'm not sure Verizon is the way to go.v
Another thing I thought of, if it was just me I would do a prepaid plan. I know T-Mobile offers unlimited talk, text, and web for 50 a month. If it was just my phone on the plan that's how I would go. Especially if I already had a phone. I think at&t offers similar deals.
I like Samsung myself but they seem to be doing away with microsd storage. I can deal with a non removable battery but I don't like cloud storage.
Ultimately the choice is yours and if you do decide to wait for a new line up of phones maybe you can switch to a prepaid plan until then. Save a couple bucks anyway.

Thanks for your quick reply I may have not explained in depth enough why I have to leave AT&T. My parents just recently finalized their divorce, and my Dad and I (who are on AT&T, with my younger brother and Mom on Verizon ) literally can not afford to continue with the plan. Either I get a *dumb* phone on prepaid t-mobile, or I can get a smartphone on Verizon. Both my parents are really tight on money, but my Mom would be willing to take me on to her plan (Verizon that is).
I was previously hoping to save up and buy a GT-i9305, but that most likely not be possible for a VERY long time. I am looking forward to the LG Optimus G gracing the U.S, but I have no clue whether LG will follow through with this phone and provide software updates. I often hear that LG has a bad reputation.
Thanks for your time,
Connor Baker
P.S: I most likely will want to develop android, so that's why I'm aiming for android phones. I may however, go over to the light side and get an iPhone 5 as I know it will be supported for 2 years at least.

You could always switch over to Straight Talk SIM, (BYOP) for $45/mo for unlimited talk, text, and data. Simply buy the SIM card, insert into your phone, and activate it. You can even port out your existing number to the new plan, and your ATT line will be closed. If you get an ATT Compatible Straight Talk SIM, you won't even need to unlock your phone to use it.

I was thinking about this... The thing is though, as awesome as my infuse is on Scott's CM10, it's still old. There's only so much a single core processor can do (ex. Music stutters while browsing the web or reading a book). I'm really looking into Verizon, and their SGS 3. I've looked at it's forums a few minutes ago, and it doesn't seem to have gotten nearly as much love as our precious Infuse. That kind of worries me. Anyone think the new Nexus phone will have a micro sd?

Just did a search for Nexus 4 specs and found this - credit PCMagazine
The bad news? The Nexus 4 comes with just 8GB of on-board storage, and does not have a microSD slot for expansion, according to the pre-sale page.

Ooooohhh.... That stings. So a quick question on opinion, how future proof is the SGS 3 at Verizon? I understand that you can OC the CPU, but I'm mainly worried about the poor GPU. Also, it's the advent of the quad-core phone, and 2GB of RAM is the new standard. I'm really perturbed now at the lack of attention in terms of development that the SGS 3 is getting. It's a big turn off.
My parents main problem with me not having a phone is that they can't contact me.
I would say go by a Verizon store soon and give the SGS3 a test spin based on the way you use the phone... you will no doubt have to keep it for a couple of years and we will all ( that are under contract) have to sit back and watch more cool stuff come out that we will have to wait to get. I have the International SGS3 - take a quick look at the dev for it - I am amazed... and lovin' it !!

I know... I had actually wanted to get the international, but unfortunately I don't have enough money to do so. that's why I'm scared of how little development that phone has going on.
EDIT: Also, I will be going into the Verizon store to test out the SGS 3 tomorrow. Do you think it'll be really laggy on account of them never restarting the phone? Is it strange I always get the urge to clear the demo phone's Cache and Dalvik? xD Maybe so. Just a little worried at the prices of the plans.

Ok. So I went to the Verizon store at the mall near me and messed around with the phone there. I have no idea why, but compared to my infuse, the thing felt clunky and slow. No OC kernel on Scott's CM10. I thing I may just wait for the LG Optimus G to arrive, but I'm kind of wary with LG smartphones. Has anyone owned one before?

No Nexus device will ever have the capability to use MicroSD.
Why Nexus devices have no SD card
TL;DR: They want to be like the iPhone with a unified memory structure.
verizon has some nice things like much better insurance and shared data, (att followed up with similar data plans though) but the pricing is very similar between the two companies. they tend to mirror each other but what verizon doesnt say is that any phone with 3g needs a data plan, not that you are looking at texting phones or anything.. other things are verizon has free verizon to verizon minutes. att has free mobile to mobile on any network and roll over minutes.
the plans look basically identical but att is in some ways a better deal and verizon tends to have fees you don't think about. but you also have to consider that verizon has a stronger network. it is less frequent now but i still get dropped calls for no reason on att. and the lte coverage is basically nothing. but then you have to look at the fact that hspa+ is faster than verizon 3g and lte is still in it's infantcy even with verizon and verizons gs3 has locked bootloaders (wtf) their phones are not cross network compatible and have isolated development due to different radio hardware and firmware....
sprint may be a better deal money wise. they get android updates when att and verizon lag behind in that area. they also are much cheaper and get better htc phones than verizon...
but if it's just you and not a family plan then what you need is strait talk. they have the gs2 on their website and that is still a great phone but i here the bootloaders are locked, it's bassically an i777 without the att emblem but someone tried to flash other firmware on one and it didn't work.. but maybe that person didn't know what they were doing? if the screen res is too low for you on the gs2 you could just buy a phone out right and get a strait talk sim card. that's what i'll do when my contract is up.. no question about that at all.
Well, now I've turned my sights on the Optimus G, and the specs look amazing. I have almost no doubt that it will land on Verizon before or on the holidays... So, what are peoples experiences with LG smartphones? Any opinions on the Optimus G?
i think you'll have to wait and see on that one. the screen looks to have amazing specs. and the s4 snapdragon dualcore is very fast so the s4 pro quad core has got to be a beast. but i messed with the lg nitro which had great specs at the time and it was kinda laggy. not that i think it would slow down with a load but the interface was slow. i also played with the thrill and it seem fast enough but the 3d screen was not great and the camera app took time to load.
from what i understand there was a lot of frustration with development on the thrill. the g2x/optimus 2x was a big seller but there was a certain amount of screen problems, no other major complaints though. i think you'll have to just wait and see if they got it right this time. the hardware is there for sure. you just might want to check out the forums and see what users are saying.

Well, I went over to the LG Optimus G forum and it basically consists of people asking for a way to unlock the bootloader, and fear of being abandoned in terms of software updates. That was kind of shocking to read through some 20 pages of anger, fear, and bitterness from past phones.
Now I'm pretty sure I'll just wait for the GT-i9305 to arrive in the U.S I guess. Anyone heard anything about this?

The GT-i9305 is the Euro version of the SGS3 and as such would most likely only be available here as an import. As it also has Euro LTE radio, US LTE would be a no-go.

S6 volume of sales

Stopped by the ATT, Sprint, and Verizon stores on Saturday to inquire about S6 sales. Seems they are not selling like hotcakes... All three stores said only a few have sold since friday. I guess this makes since when compared to a new iphone release. There is only one iphone, there are dozens of droid variants at a wide range of price points. As nice as the phone looked, I do not see how this will be a savior for samsung, as the volume just isn't there.

Depends were your at. All the stores near me sold out except sprint. I want to Verizon and they only had one edge version left over. Bestbuy had some stock but most of the carrier stores had one or two left or were out until the next stock. Sprint in my area sucks and they were the only exception

Sold out here too.
I think it's selling pretty good , I had to go to the verizon the next town over to get mine and I'm from a small town plus they said they had a very high number of previous orders so I think it's going well. I just hope we can get root and add some of the features verizon tool from us that's all I want because this phones runs beautifully other than the screen real Estate I don't miss my note 4 at all...yet.
I can tell you that we are also selling S6 at a very fast pace. A lot so than any other device.
My local store said the S6 was outselling the M9 by a 3 to 1 margin. They were very busy on the 10th.

Sold out in my town. And we have 5 corporate stores and many premium retailers.
I work at Verizon and I've been selling about 6 a day which is pretty abnormal. To sell that many of 1 phone a day is pretty good

just pre-ordered my v20 through t-mobile.

so exactly at 12 i called up t-mobile and pre-ordered my v20. the price of the phone is $769.99. i also took advantage of the free tablet offer. getting an LG G Pad X 8.0. looking forward to that. never really had a tablet. definitely going to root it and unlock it. in t-mobiles system they only had the titan color, which is what i wanted anyways. can't wait to finally have the phone in my hand....
X 8.0 is a decent tablet and you will love it.
It's rootable with dz and LGUP.
I will pay off and trade in my V10 for it.
Hmm.. I'm a bit too tired to call T-Mobile, but their website shows nothing thus far.
I'm still very hesitant.. I don't mind waiting a bit to see if LG will allow an official bootloader unlocker for the H915. But T-Mobile phones have been unlockable in the past. I don't know which one will see more developer action
If you log into MyT-Mobile you can order it. I actually ordered mine 10 minutes before Midnight PST
I ordered through the website this morning. I'm sort of curious since the website doesn't have it as pre-order and it's showing a ship date of 10-17 to 10-24 and the phone as in stock. So I'm cautiously optimistic that I could have this thing in hand this week.
Going to walk into the local dealer and order at 10am. Figure I've bugged them long enough that I should. Also going to take advantage of the phone trade-in. I see online that there are two tablets available. Is the one you listed the better of the two?
Ordered mine through T-Mobile as well!! It's expected to ship as early as today; can't wait. I didn't do the tablet because the customer service said you had to keep the data plan open for 2 years, which makes it a not free tablet since the plan is $10 per month. I'll get the headphones whenever the phone gets in, though, so that's a plus! Definitely looking forward to getting this now that my Note 7 is gone and I'm back to my Note Edge that has a bunch of dead pixels
Just a note on this, I ordered through the web then called the customer support because the shipping upgrade I did hadn't processed properly. The person on the phone said the phone is already backordered as of just a few minutes after I ordered and that any new orders from this point forward likely won't ship until early November.
Now I just need to find a solid case and buy the stylus!!

So much for the tablet. I don't use much of the tethering I already have. I don't need another data plan.
And that's not cool that they're already sold out. I was going to trade in my N6 and use my cracked Note 3 until this got here but I'm not willing to use the Note 3 that long. LG has made us wait long enough. They really should have had more stock in country than this.

Still worth a shot! You may order at the same time that someone else cancels an order! Plus, the phone customer service person seemed to have thought that it had been on backorder for several hours already, so maybe they sell from a different pot of phones than the web does. Look at buying on the web as that's what I did and got a ship out date of this week. Definitely worth it, IMO. I'm sitting on a Galaxy Note Edge that has several green lines running down the screen until I get this one, lol

Just realized my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a 4G phone that I can trade in. And hoping you're right about separate pots but that's not usually the case.

I wonder if they have additional stock coming in that is not accounted for.

Unaccounted for? Probably not. Sounds like the next ones don't hit the country until well into November. Someone said they were quoted 11/15-12/15. I've yet to order mine. Heading to the store here in a little bit to do it. LG really keeps dropping the ball on this one. They better hope rumors of something really awesome don't hit before the V20 ships.
T-Mobile stores will have them in stock on release day. The ones being shipped to you through pre-orders will not cut into the stores stock.
For those of you being quoted a November ship date, just walk into a T-Mobile store on release day.
So it looks like you do have to be careful about which 4G phone you try to trade in. They just use a database and if your phone isn't in it, too bad. My Galaxy Nexus didn't make the cut so I'll have to send them my Nexus 6 instead. And just to note, they only apply the actual trade in value. (In my case $60) You have to fill out some promotion that I can't seem to find and they (LG?) send you a check for the rest of the amount. So for me, that would be the other $140.

Curious as to when that is?
Reason I ask, call me a conspiracy theorist if you must. T-Mobile is facing a potential customer dip due to the Note 7 fiasco. What better way to avert potential customer base loss (device lease fees etc.)by getting the V20 out as quickly as possible, primarily before the Google Pixel hits the streets... Do they actually have them in stock, or are they baiting customers? Seems odd to completely skip the "preorder" phase and go straight to "In-Stock" and shipping 17-24 October...
I am actually one of those folks, preordered the Pixel XL on October 4th which should be here this week. However, now with the V20 available I still have time to cancel my Google order and pick up the LG.
So now I have both on order and "technically" should have both by the end of the week. As outlined though, I doubt the V20 ships to anyone this week... Of course I could be way off base, but think the V20 thing is a tad more than coincidental...

I think the backorder situation on both phones is driven by the Note 7 fiasco. People are grabbing for the next best phones available.
Other than the battery issue, I think both phones are a step down from the Note 7.
I too was told early to mid November for delivery while my order acknowledgement says this week. I guess it'll be here when it gets here.
I just spoke with T-Mobile help on twitter. They checked my order and confirmed the 10-17 to 10-24 shipping date was correct. They're probably trying to get these out as quick as possible due to the Note 7 recall and the massive iPhone 7 back-order. I paid for overnight shipping, so I'm hoping that it really does ship today. I'll update in this thread as soon as I get a tracking number.
I just orderer mine via phone. Shipping date 10/17 to 10/24. He did not give me overnight shipping, i dont know if it will be cause of any delay. I'll update u guys as soon as i get any.

I'm wondering if we can have it added afterwards. Regular shipping is ground shipping, 7 days. Which means it is possible you might not get the phone until after it hits stores if it ships towards the end of the window.

Gonna be like mine on ATT, you get the phone, put in for the free dual screen on the LG site, they say 3-6 weeks for delivery.

That's ok. The second screen is just a bonus, and did not influence my decision to get this phone at all. Gives me something to look forward to.
Is $949. For the single screen? Then you get the dual for "free"?

To get your dual screen start here.

Why does everyone keep saying the dual screen is free? No it is NOT free! I don't care which carrier you are buying it from...it is NOT free! You are paying for it even if one carrier is a little cheaper than the other. NOTHING is free...especially from a cell phone OEM.
Now if you decided to NOT go through the trouble of getting the dual screen, then all you are doing is paying even more for the phone, and letting LG get away with more profit. That is why they are making some buyers jump through hoops to get their so called "free" dual screen...they hope people will say it's too much trouble...not worth it. If only a small percentage are not willing to jump through the hoops..LG makes out like a bandit.

You, sir or madam, are exactly correct. T-Mobile is the only one offering it phone only(for 100 cheaper). So everyone that buys make sure and send in for the dual screen, it's been useful.

You don't have to jump through hoops to get dual screen ! You just go to LG site and upload to photos of proof of purchase and you will have it within a week. All three carriers have same deal but they are three different prices for same thing.
Anyone on Verizon receive the dual screen yet? I submitted on April 3 and was approved on the 6th, but haven't heard anything since.

I submitted mine on the 15th and approved on the 16th, but the approval email said it would be "...delivered within 3 - 6 weeks," and a tracking email would come when it ships. So I'm not expecting any other emails for a while yet.

Thanks. I got the same email. I'll update when I hear more.
I submitted mine on April 1st (The day the phone came in) and it got approved the next day, still no email about anything to do with a tracking number or what-have-you
Weird that the folks on AT&T are getting their dual screens in a matter of days, but the Verizon folks still haven't received anything yet. Maybe since AT&T was released first they have an agreement with LG on getting the first batch of dual screens.

Yay for happy surprises. I take it you never got the shipping email, just BOOM it's at your door?
I guess I spoke too soon, because mine just showed up today. I didn't receive any shipping email or anything either.

Yep. Just showed up.
Happy you Verizon folks are finally getting your screens.
AT&T's offer definitely included sending out an email confirmation of the shipment with a tracking number.
And yes, I got the 3-6 weeks email, but wound up receiving the second screen in like 4 business days. lol
Not sure why Verizon would leave folks in the dark there, but no harm, no foul, I suppose.
