Unlocked US model in Europe - HTC One A9

Have been searching the whole day, but is there any difference in supported LTE bands between the US and Europe model? I haven't found any differences... Seems there is only one unlocked model? (Differences aside from RAM).
Visiting New York in January, this looks like the ideal phone for my girlfriend… Hope to bring one home for her.

EU is HIA_AERO_UHL same as M9 :)

The only international LTE bands that the unlocked US model supports are 3 and 7. Okay for occasional roaming in Europe but not enough in my opinion if you were going to use it there all the time.

That is because of soft or hardware? I bought US modell because of 3/32 GB, hoped there is no real difference....

working great for me in Germany
Hello all,
for me the unlocked 32GB version is working greate with LTE (tmobile network) in Germany.

Where did you bought it?
What kind of cable / power supply did you get delivered with? (german or not)

European smartphone in USA (3G/LTE)

Hello.
Like in 2013, I'm going to spend summer in USA and I need help with solving one problem. I'm living in Poland and we are using 1900/2100 UMTS. Of course I bought my GT-I9100 here and it works really well in all European countries, but not in USA. Last summer, I bought prepaid card from SimpleMobile (T-Mobile) and I had to use EDGE (2G) for two months. I wasn't prepere for that. But I want to be smarter this year and get some informations from you What should I do to have 3G/LTE in USA as well as in Poland? I was thinking about changing phone to Lumia 920. If I'll buy this phone in Poland, will it works in USA? I mean 3G/LTE of course. Or maybe I should buy american version of this phone, but I'm not sure if it will work with Polish 1900/2100? Or maybe I just chose wrong prepaid plan and that's why it didn't work?
I depend upon to you guys and I would be very grateful for your help
Sorry for my english

North American Nexus 5 in Asia

Hi,
I have a north american version Nexus 5 bought in Canada. I will be travelling to Hong Kong and want to use the 4G network there
Am I able to do this or the north american verison cannot use the 4G LTE bands in Hong Kong
Is there any way to flash it or ROM it to change the bands if so?
Thanks
US version should NOT work in HK
If it is only for a short visit, you might have a look for pocket Wifi instead, Many shopping mall offer free Wifi there.

4G of US version (D820) will not work, only 2G and 3G working.
p.s. my wife got the D820 which bought from google online when in canada, so I quite sure about that.

You are indeed correct. Everything but LTE will work just fine.
I have a similar question, but flipped a little for the D821. I want to buy my wife a Nexus 5 phone that will work in both China and Hong Kong -- preferably 4G.
What if I purchase the D821 for use in Asia that, from my research on the 4G LTE bands, will work on 4G in those two countries. Then I bring it back to the US for use. Can anyone confirm whether it will work on US GSM based networks' 4G? I'm almost positive it will not work on either T-Mobile or AT&T, but I can't find much info on any other GSM based network here in the US (which I think use AT&T or T-Mobile networks anyway).
I'd appreciate any help you can offer. I'm still doing research, but there's a good deal going on on ebay for brand new, unlocked D821s for about $375 USD -- reputable Top Seller too. So, I probably need to act fast. In the end, this will be my wife's first smartphone, and so 3G will be fast enough for her, and works perfectly fine in both US and Asia.
THANKS!

3G will work, 4G will not work. Basically the N5 is a world phone except when it comes to LTE, then you need either the North American version or the rest of the world version.

[Q] (Q) MT7-TL10 not seeing all EU/UK bands

I wonder anybody could help with this query/issue I am have?
I recently purchased a MT7-TL10 from the United Arab Emirates whilst on holiday and the phone came preloaded with the latest international ROM (V100R001C00B119SP03). As a result I thought I had an international version of the phone.
When I got back to the UK however I have noticed that a network scan revels that the phone can see both 3 and EE LTE networks (which run over bands 3 & 7) but not O2 and Vodafone (which runs over band 20). Which initially suggests the phone is band locked as UAE only runs bands 3 & 7, though their phones are usually fully compatible with European networks (such as the Samsung S5 my wife purchased).
I don't suppose anybody has had any luck unlocking the bands on this phone or the TL09? Also, there don't seem much logic to the flash the ROM with international version in my instance (which is suggested for the Chinese model) as I am already running it.
I have similar problem in Nigeria. My TL10 could not see band 20.

Don't wait for luck. MT7-TL10 does not support band 20. Check specs.
I bought the gold Mate 7 32gb from Huawei in Saudi Arabia.. and I confirm I don't get 4G on O2. I guess I'll have to change my carrier to either EE or Three. Any recommendation, which carrier would you recommend ? I live in London

I switched to Three as they where offering the best deal plus I had a mobile dongle with them and I knew the reception was always better than O2. The phone now picks up 4G just about everywhere I go.
nice!
there got to be a way to unlock all radio bands.. right? has anyone seen it done ?
I have the same problem with my Mate 7, I've emailed Huawei but they don't want to acknowledge that there is a fault. I suggest you guys also email Huawei!
Huawei Mate 7 TL10 does not support band 20 (800 mHz frequency) that O2 uses. it is not the matter of locking and unlocking, it is that the phone lacks the capability. Sadly enough, I own mate 7 TL10 and am using giffgaff that runs on O2 network.
Edit: This lack of capability is by design. You should check the specs before buying.
I have the Mate 7 TL10 and use in Austria on Three.Three use not the Band 20 at least not in Austria.
My Prepaid Card from Telekom Austria would need band 20,but in larger cities, it also works without

LTE in canada

hey guys, i'm looking to buy one of this. I know there is international verison (64gb) and chinese version (32gb and 128gb). Which version support LTE network in canada? thanks
International support more bands so should be better.
I have the Chinese Mate 9 in Canada, and works fine on Wind / Freedom Mobile. Haven't tried the other carriers.
You could always look up the compatibility of the Mate 8 to Canada's networks from last year, I highly doubt they've taken away compatibility in the new version. Willmyphonework.net didn't have an entry for the Mate 9 in their database yet, last time I checked. :/

There are 2 Chinese variants (TL00, AL00) which won't support Canadian LTE bands. L09, L29 (dual sim) is ok. Check this out: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=device&s=compare&ids=10928.10923.10918.10917

Great Price!

Hey there,
Not that I am 100% sure, but I've called this statement into question in another thread, I'll repost here.
In one of the threads here on XDA, another member suggested he ordered the intl. model and it didnt support the right bands for the USA. Leading me to think there were multiple models.
I'm starting to think there isn't, here is why.
1. Michael Fisher (I think he's in Canada) imported a TW market phone for his early review. It appears to have LTE in the film, and he doesnt mention anything about incompatibilities.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIWbn8ecKwA
2. Jeff Springer (I think he's in the USA) imported a HK market phone, it also appears to have LTE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fclOYUyfxnE&t=522s
I believe the belief that the intl. model doesnt support USA bands (2/4, etc) comes from the practice (poor practice, admittedly) for HTC's Taiwanese website to only declare the bands that it perceives are relevant to Taiwanese users. The HK website suggests the same as taiwan = FDD: B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28 TDD: B38/B39/B40/B41
The UK / India / USA / AU sites all state - FDD: Bands B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B12/B17/B20/B28TDD: Bands B38/B39/B40/B41
With USA & AU not stating support for dual sim, but HK, TW, India, UK do.
I believe there is only one model (with multiple software variations), and the information published being variable.
I now know there are at least 2 model numbers. U-1u (Taiwan and HK confirmed to use this model, dual sim), and U-1h (single sim, AU and UK confirmed). But given the info above (michael fisher and Jeff Springer both importing the U-1u, and seemingly can connect to north american lte, seems to suggest that the band support for U-1u is wider than the official website specs)
HTC U Ultra - got from imobilephonex
Hey there
I got from New HTC U Ultra form imobilephonex
Really good price & brilliant phone :good:
Here is the breakdown officially from HTC's website. The dual band international version is missing 2, 4, 12 and 17. 17 being the most important one.
So get this I wake up to a text from FedEx saying I have a package coming I didn't order anything else so it's out for delivery! I checked the HTC site and it still says it hasn't been shipped and no tracking number!
It's cheaper on eBay (649) and it's from a US based seller instead of having it shipped from Asia. What is holding me back from this phone is the horrific resale value of HTC and LG products. Once the S8 is announced/released this HTC U Ultra can be purchased for an insane amount less than full retail. Apple and Samsung phones hold their value well even used but unfortunately phones like this are not worth buying new for full retail IMO.

Having an LTE sign does not mean it supports the entire range of the network.
