[Mod][Ospey 1540] Init.d Support with Permissive script - Moto G 2015 Original Android Development

This Mod is for XT1540 ONLY!!! I take no responsibility it you do not read, and something happens to your device!
This mod is to give Root user's init.d support and change your SELinux mode from enforcing to permissive
I had a developer (SuperR) edit the boot.img for our device like he has done for the Moto G & E over on androidforums to give me permissive mode on every boot, and it has worked perfectly for me for a couple of days now, so i thought i would share this with everyone else
boot.img https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_DNsulDtL2_cTFOZWppQ0psQkU/view?usp=docslist_api
Fastboot it
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Or you can use flashify from the playstore to install it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
Select flash tab, boot image, and flash away
Install Universal Init.d from play store to make the folder in system/etc/ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androguide.universal.init.d
Then you can delete it, because you won't need it anymore
Download this 99Permissive Script https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_DNsulDtL2_MGlPR3B5R2NFR1E/view?usp=docslist_api
Use a root explorer/root file browser to move it to system/etc/init.d/ and change permissions to rwxr-xr-x (0755) reboot your device, and your done. It should now be set to run on eash boot

If you want to check to make sure it works, go to the play store and download Android Terminal Emulator https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm
type su, then type getenforce and it should read parmissive instead of enforceing
If you no longer want to use the mod you can always go back to normal, just reflash the original boot.img

init.D support.
Sent from my MotoG3 using XDA Free mobile app

I use it for apps like ViPER4Android_FX and init.d support to run scripts
To be honest, I just wanted it so i didn't have to download a extra app (SELinuxModeChanger) to use ViPER
And i shared it with you guy's because i thought some of you would find it useful

Were you on the stock rom?
Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

Yup
Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

My model is 1540 yours is 1543
This mode will only work for TX1540
If you have problems or can't get it back to normal, i advise you to find your stock firmware, extract the boot.img and fastboot it to get back to normal, instead of having to reinstall the whole firmware again, or restoring a backup
Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

Yup, I backed up fisrt and I have a backup on TWRP. Not big deal. Can you, please, make or ask to make for 1543? Thanks!

[Q] rom manager and G2x

I was unable after searching to find a clear answer. Why is rom manager not able to flash clockwork on the g2x. Will it ever be possible or will we always have to update cw through NVflash?
An application cannot tamper with the recovery image of the device, no matter what. NVflash works with the processor directly.

If I installed CWM using NVFlash, should I still install ROM Manager from market once my phone is up and running?
I did the install after setting up the phone. There is really not much it does. If you try to check for a new nightly or ROM it always says to install the recovery. If you try to reboot to recovery, same thing. There just does not seem to be a lot of use around the application when it cannot do anything with the recovery at all.

Maybe. It does make things a bit more convienent, and doing the fake flash does not overwrite the true flash of NVFlash, or if it does just go back and flash via NV again. You can tell the difference because fake flash is orange while true flash is red.
I installed before I flashed true recovery, and the app still works. There's nothing Rom Manager does that CWM doesn't (unless you buy premium), but the app does it a bit more easily and saves you from having to navigate recovery mode.
Rom manager does not support dual core
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
You don't need to fake flash to use all the features. Just press menu and click manual flash override. It allows you to set your recovery in the app so it will let you use all the features.

Seek the signature below the line
you can always try putting a new bootanim ni root/system/media
named as bootanimation.zip
but better confirm with someone who owns this model before doing this.
I know how to do it, but I don't wanna mess up my fone, thanks tho

Do u wanna change the very beginning boot logo or the boot animation?
Sent from my LG Phoenix P505 using xda premium
Just place the bootanimation.zip file to /system/media
If it stuffs up, ie bootloops or what nots, and you can't remove it with a root explorer etc, then boot your phone up to CWM or the recovery you use and use adb shell (through your PC) to remove the bootanimation.zip file. ie the following commands:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
rm -rf /system/media/bootanimation.zip
exit
adb reboot
Done
like wen I turn my fone on
Sent from my LG-P500 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
that looks complicated lolz but ok
Sent from my LG-P500 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
CM should have its own boot img. That you can change. Other images before it are phone and kernel img, there harder to change.
You have to be rooted to be able to change your boot animation. I have used Es File Explorer to simply paste my desired boot animation to /system/media. Then reboot.

Can you share your knowledge with the rest of us?
How DO you change the boot image? (not boot animation).

Interesting! Please inform us (and make a screenshot).
So far I have noticed that woke in recovery (twrp) it will not show me to wipe anything. And while in fastboot, it won't allow me to erase any partition. It will allow me to flash over but not erase.
In recovery it says 'failed' unable to mnt /data partition.

I'm gonna try to delete some apps and see if it has that dumb a$$ write protection kernel again.
Yup new kernel has write protection. Even after flashing jmz's disable wp zip. I'll upload the boot img so maybe a dev can figure out how to remove it
You are still S-Off? With S-Off you should be able to delete System apps.
Yeah still s-off a reboot after flashing jmz's disable wp.zip now can delete system apps and mnt /data

Update: every thing seems to be working just fine with this tiny update.
Root .......check
S-off.........check
Google wallet.......check
Pretty much everything it's still running smoothly no hiccups or disasters
op updated
just an app update
Hmmm, it seems I have yet to receive this update... I wonder why that is. Guess they thought it wasn't important for me to have it ha!

package installer
this is a system app. place it in
/system/app
set permissions to
-rw-r--r--
and reboot
Hmmm, well, thanks, much appreciated. Seems as when I rebooted my phone the update finally came in haha. Even though I had already followed through with yours I proceeded forward with the update none the less and allowed it to install. Not sure if it overlapped what you gave me or if the system picked up yours to begin with. Either way, all seems well so thanks.

Need help with /system r/w permission

Every Rom I install I cannot get permission to r/w to /system. The custom roms say they have support to write to /system but I can never successfully do that. I use ES File Explorer with root turned on. Any suggestions on what is going on. I always clean flash the roms when I install.

Are you making sure to mount /system as rw? Even with write protection disabled, it's still mounted as ro by default.
In root explorer:

Faux123 kernel is not compatible with 4.4.4 your best bet would be to extract the boot.IMG from the OTA and flash it via fastboot.
