Microphone and GPS do not function

Hi everybody.
As a newbie HTC TC owner, I'm experiencing problems with built-in microphone and built-in GPS. It seems that they do not function.
For the first problem, enabling Settings --> System --> Microphone ACG and "shouting" at the phone didn't help. I couldn't find any setting for adjusting microphone volume level or enabling/disabling it. So I can't determine if it's a hardware issue or a wrong setting. (The headset's microphone works fine.)
The second issue is about the GPS receiver. Tomtom couldn't find the GPS receiver. VisualGPSce couldn't, either. I searched the entire forum and tried the advices at thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359734 . No way, none of them works.
Any solution advice on these problems will be appreciated.

[Q] Bluetooth audio with GPS: Lose the start of every instruction - anyone else?

Does anyone else have a problem that if they use bluetooth audio connections with a satnav app that the start of each direction is clipped off. For example it will come in with "...nd exit" when the instruction is probably "At the roundabout, take the second exit". I keep getting instructions like "Yards" and "Exit" which are not very helpful. It's not a solution to leave it unconnected to the bluetooth because I'm partially deaf, I cannot hear it at all unless I blast it through the stereo. Every other bt connection is just fine, but the satnav always does this.
So far seems to be a problem with all of them, though HTC Locations I'm not sure what it does any more as I was trying some fixes and the license ran out, they refused to give me an extension to the trial period and I'm not paying for it until I know for sure it works. Google's Navigation does it for sure. It makes no difference if I use the stock voices or Ivona voice.
Does anyone else have this problem and does anyone have a fix? It's even helpful to hear that anyone else definitely doesn't have this problem so I know if it's a common thing or something unusual.
In case it helps, the car is a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso with the standard audio package that comes with the VTR+ UK model.

Bluetooth disconnecting with GPS

I'm having an issue with my Bluetooth and am wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. For some reason, when I have my car connected via Bluetooth for audio/calls and I connect to GPS (using Garmin or VZ navigator, for example), the Bluetooth fully disconnects. I can have the car reconnect just fine, but if I leave the navigation open, the Bluetooth will disconnect again almost immediately. I know this isn't an issue with my car, as I've had other phones that don't have the issue.
At this point I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. I have the Verizon 8x. Is anyone else having this problem?
