Unknown Baseband is serious issue because Baseband contains configurations about SIM detection. If you have Unknown Baseband in your phone than your SIM card/cards will not get detected by your phone.So you will not able to use your SIM services.If you baseband is unknown,the process to restore IMEI will always fail
Toturial How To Restore Baseband
What you need:
1.Flashtool
2.Firmware(stock rom)

Step by Step
1.Extract the stock rom
2.Open Flashtool n Tick DA DL
3.Load Scater File(stock rom)
4.Click Format,Choose Auto Format(whole flash except bootloader)
5.Wait until the format finish(may take a moment)
6.Flash the stock rom using Download option(for those who don't know how to flash stock rom,Please follow this Toturial:http://androidxda.com/flash-stock-rom-using-smart-phone-flash-tool
7.Reboot

hey guys I am meeth and i just want some of your time and help ..........

i was running my mmx A110 on a stock 4.1.1 rooted jb rom which was flashed with sp tools .
now i just wanted to go to suvi so i decided that it might be good if i downgraded and then root my deviceagain installing custom recovery {CWM}
but the problem is whenever i downgrade or upgrade my rom i need to restore my IMEI because it just shows that my cell has an invalid IMEI so i HAVE TO INSTALL MOBILEUNCLE TOOLS.
SEE NOW HERE IS WHEN THE TROUBLE STARTS
1> I downgraded with sp flash tools ..... successful.
2> Rooted my device ..........................successful.
3> tried to install MOBILE UNCLE TOOLS......... installed but not opening.
So then i formated the phone with flash tools and then again flashed 4.0.4 then tried to install mtk but still no success [installed but not opening]
tried other app but they open without any problem.
SO GUYS NOW I AM TOTALLY F***ED
PLEASE
NEED HELP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS I AM A COLLEGE GOING STUDENT AND NEED IT FOR MANY PURPOSES

To all the new members i request not to qoute the full post....instead qoute a part of it or make a direct reply..or otherwise it makes the thread really ugly.
Problem solved
It is a problem with the MTK Mobile Uncle tools. Download a old version of the app. It will work. If u dont have i am uploading in general section now. Download from there

After spending hours of research
ALHAMDULILLAH I finally got it to work
I saw many people here have emergency call problem or 'unregistered on network' error after installing any custom or stock 4.3 ROM
-If from the other thread of solution you install modem and kernel you have the signal working but not wifi.
-so Finally what I did was upgraded to STOCK android 4.3 'N7100XXUEMK9.zip' got the knox enabled bootloader
you can download this rom from google or samfirmware.com
or it is not necessary you can also flash MJ5 bootloader

then
flash wanamlite ml6

now you have unknown baseband or no service
go to Supersu and it will ask to disable KNOX press on yes *Only for knox enabled ones
STEP 3:
Flash ML6 Patched Kernel only 'NO Modem'
from the attachment
and voila.. WIFI And Sim both working ..
On other rom use init d script and patched modem just flash it as u flash rom dont reboot and flash these two files then reboot

UPDATE:-'
Install any custom 4.3 Rom in my case using "Hurricane"
1. Flash the rom nd dont reboot flash init d script test.zip as stated above then flash patched modem I use "MJ9" after it reboot.
2.Now ull have working network nd wifi but network wil gone as u reboot nd unkown baseband will b there
3.
So to tackle this flash Agni Kernel 4.3
and reboot now Both will work even with reboot. .

I am desperate for help. I got a BLU Life One M and flashed the A117 Kitkat ROM from here:

It destroyed the baseband and now the SIM slots are not working at all.
Before flashing I used TWRP to backup the entire phone and used MobileUncle to backup the IMEI. The files I have now are:
recovery.log
boot.emmc.win
cache.ext4.win
data.ext4.win
logo.emmc.win
nvram.emmc.win
recovery.emme.win
sec_ro.emmc.win
system.ext4.win
uboot.emmc.win
IMEI.bak
I tried TWRP recovery but it does not repair the baseband. I also tried MobileUncle with IMEI.bak but it does not write anything back.
I wonder if there is still a way to save this device. Thanks!!!

I have the same problem. I was able to download the above original firmware and used sp flash tool to flash it back to the phone. Baseband and IMEI still show as unknown. Does the stock firmware include baseband flash? Any other suggestions?

Yesterday afer root of my mmx magnus a117, I tried to install recovery with help of TWRP manager but after that I face issue of my network signal, this is due to loss IMEI, so I tried to slove this issue with help of mobileunkle tool to go in engineer mode to feed IMEI no but its not working, as it show my Radio state off.
My phone SIM managment is also got inactive ( greyed out ). My Baseband Status showing unknown
Please can some one help me on this....

hello friends finally i have managed to flash my celkon a118 with stock rom. I am writing the procedure to some one who is needed. I am staring this post as assuming that you have minimum idea of how to flash your phone. if not please search about basics. please undesstand that i am not responsible for any damage to you phone.
1. downloaded many stock roms none of them are worked. finally i downloaded from the android xda site.

2. install drivers. i face bit difficult in this aspect. it is easy to install pdanet software in net and connect your working phone to pc.
3. In the firmware file there is a mtk flash tool. if you are comfortable do that or try sp flash tool.
4. while flashing you will get checksum error. the solution is delete checksum file and flash now.
5. the checksum file is in the downloaded file>flashtool>sp>checksum.ini(configuaration file)
6. flash now better to use firware upgrade. once i tried flash all and download then my imei is failed then i write my imei with mauiMETA software.

Switch Off the phone & flash sec.ro file from stock rom using sptools
then power on the phone ..After that use mobile uncle tools restore imei if u have a backup or manually input imei nos using mtk engineering mode..
Try googling .... imei change via engineer mode...u will get
