[ABANDONED] MatrixROM for G900V - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Android Development

Matrix ROM for Samsung Galaxy S5 (Verizon)
Have you joined the Matrix?
Features:
-ROM Control with Nexus and Sammy SystemUIs, and 3 included BitSyko layers themes (Tangerine, Blue Mist, and Clear), and the option to remove bloat
-OTA Updater, for easy updates (no need to check XDA twice a day for updates)
-Matrix Boot animation
-Init.d support
-Build.prop tweaks
-Based off the latest Verizon Lollipop release (BOD5)
-Deodexed
-Zipaligned
To-Do:
1) FIX BUGS
2) Add more themes to ROM control
3) Make OTA updates flash automatically (somehow...? any devs know how...?)
4) Make themes more diverse
5) Add launcher toggle in ROM Control
6) Add more debloating options to ROM Control
Bugs:
-Nexus UI crashes upon reboot (clicking "OK" fixes it instantly)
-Default wallpaper doesn't apply on first boot
-I think ants are also bugs
-You tell me
DOWNLOADS:
-> Matrix ROM v1.4
-> OD5 Firmware Tar
INSTALLING:
Must be on any rooted rom or stock rom beforehand
1) Install FlashFire
2) Use it to wipe everything (optional), install the firmware package OD5, and install the rom zip
3) Wait for install to complete (first boot on deodexed lollipop takes >15 minutes, be patient)
4) Profit
this thread is pretty short, ain't it?

Can you use SuperSU to get the logs from "MatrixROM configuration" and send them to me? This is an issue that was the reason it took me so long to make the ROM, so seeing it not working is a real bummer

Load SU pro, go into matrixrom config, then do the thing you said was not working. After the reboot, go into SuperSU, then logs, then click the latest log (the one at the top) and send me what it says.

[UTIL][WIN]I Don't Want You! || Get rid of unwanted mods || No data loss || No backup

Hi guys,
Have you ever installed a mod without making a backup before? Did the mod break your system or was not working the way you expected? The only way to recover the system to the previous state was to restore an old backup and loose all new data.
Thanks to my mod, this won't happen again! I present to you "I Don't Want You!".
It means NO NEED TO ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING A MOD!
How it works?
It creates update.zip containing apps changed by mod in comparison to stock system and deleting files added by the mod to our system.
What it does?
-creates update.zip
-signs the zip
-Additionally: pulls /system from the device (using adb) (you need to do that once before installing mods instead of unpacking system manually form FTF/.zip file)
Requirements:
-Windows
-.NET Framework 4.5 or higher
-files installed/changed by mod (the content of mod's .zip file without META-INF)
-Recovery installed on your Android device
-Rooted android device
-Java
Compatibility:
Every device and every Android build!
It does not fully support mods with AROMA Installer
Currently It works only with mods influencing /system.

Update.zip made by my tool should work on all recoverys using edify language. Please provide me an example of flashable zip for your recovery and I will check.
If It comes to porting the tool for linux, I need help in that matter as far as I am not using Linux and I haven't made any program for that system yet. Of course I will provide source code. Please contact me via PM. However you can try opening the tool with Wine. The ADB wont work but you can copy your /system manually and provide path to it in program.

Crashed
Looks like it copied /system but then failed at the last minute
Like jshare, crashed in last minute!
crashes during cleaning up process.....maybe add code to kill ADB and restart it before cleaning
@Vagelis1608
It should work
@ChazzMatt
Of course it doesn't! Currently it works only with /system mods.
@RMarques
The only options you need is:
1. For pulling system from your phone
2. To make update.zip (all other options are included in this one)
@jshare @Limac @Manvindar
Yeah, I forgot to add line for killing "adb" process in latest version, because I slightly rearranged whole code. I will upload fixed version in 10 min
UPDATE
I have uploaded fixed version!

About time
I tried flashing this with full wipe on my ATT M9. It installs just fine (used all defaults), boots up and does "optimizing apps", then reboots. After boot it goes from the boot splash to a black screen. It stays at this black screen for a while and boots again. One time it did say "setup has stalled, close it?". The buttons were mostly unresponsive but I did hit "ok" once, at which point it rebooted again. adb is showing device offline, so I havent been able to get any logcats.
EDIT - if I press and hold power, I can get the shutdown menu. so it does look like its just the setup app hanging

Sadly I can't. when it's happening I can't get into the device, adb sees the device but says offline. I can try again this afternoon and see if I can grab some logs from recovery mode after the device hangs and reboots.
I gave it a shot, hoping some useful logs would be saved somewhere that I could access from recovery. But I couldn't find anything. I forgot logcat is a circular buffer.

TWRP 2.6.8.4 , Captain_Throwback's version. Normally I wouldn't run a modified TWRP, but it seems M9 still has a lot of bugs with "normal" TWRP.

So far so good! The only thing it doesn't have is "OK Google" on any screen, but I'm guessing I could manually install the app and get it. Really not a big thing. But really zero issues to speak of. No force close popups or lags in any app. It runs exactly as I'd expect .
Nice i see alot of familiar dev names popping up.
Will try this also. Might even had it nand on my hd2 in the past

Just to be clear (it seems like it), flashing this won't touch Recovery/wipe the device, correct?
Downloading anyway, great work!
Nice, what I've been looking for.
Hope enforcing SELinux can be achieved sometime with SuperSU. Using permissive SELinux is a must for now, i've read https://twitter.com/ChainfireXDA/status/604443705806848001?ref_src=twsrc but i do hope enforcing will happen someday soon as source rolls out

If anyone else, like myself, has an issue with the Home button and Notification Shade not working after flashing this (everything else works properly), be sure to do two things:
Clear out a couple of Google's pre-loaded apps from /system/app, there is almost NO free space there. Then install them from the Play Store instead.
Run the command in this old AP story: http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...at-refuses-to-pull-down-after-android-update/
I've done those things, and now I have a basically 'updated' N7 from 5.1.1 to 6.0.0 without losing a thing, and still some space in /system/ to flash an adblocker, etc.
Just trying to help a bit.

I agree, by now there was usually at least 2 or 3 of them rooted with busybox. Don't know why isn't happening with M. A little harder to make a flashable zip for some reason ?

In that case, first try booting up without gapps, then with gapps (don't wipe data or cache after flashing gapps). Should allow you to skip setup wizard. Happened in AOSP too.
Which recovery do we have to use as its not installing from cyanogen recovery . Give a link if possible. Thanks.

Great cam quality! HDR works, is there anyway to port this camera to other 6.0 like aosp-oms/ 7.0 apos-osm. Wish substratum could port in this rom. Great job!
It seems Front Camera not working. It crashes (FC)
Sound is excellent and better than else , but app not moving to sdcard.

Yeah, this is using Snap. I forgot Front camera FCs the app. I'll try fixing it, if not we may have to return to the old Camera2. Update may take some time btw.

No Problem mate! Its fine as long the back camera works. And the rom too!
There is no music player or browser preinstalled we need to install it.
The ROM is good but is lot of bugs. I used it for 2 days and noticed bugs
1. Camera Force closes
2. Battery takes a lot of time to charge and it does not work under heavy usage much i.e. it consumes more battery.
3. Wifi sharing is not working
4. You need to install Music and Browser it is not preinstalled.
5. Need some more time to check
otherwise the ROM is good but not as a daily driver. The softkeys are really nice.
Please update new rom cypheros and fix bug because this rom is sound perfect.

不知道您能不能看懂中文,您的链接里找不到rom,并且之前TWRP的帖子里也没用TWRP3.2的IMG文件
Translated by GT: I don’t know if you can read Chinese, you can’t find the rom in your link, and the TWRP3.2 IMG file is not used in the previous TWRP post.

Hello! About the old s7 camera app problem, thanks for reporting it! This feature will be added in the V2.0 small feature update build! and the twrp recovery error, you can try these steps to fix it:
Method that will be working:
1. goto your twrp 2.8 recovery menu, press wipe
2. then it will prompt a screen that tell you to swipe to factory reset, don't swipe it!, press the format data
3. Then swipe to do it!
4. after all, reboot to recovery again, and follow the step again
5. your twrp 3.2 recovery will be working again!
