Go back to stock recovery.
It's easy. Instead of using the CWM Recovery, using this https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3XLPG3BygIrbGNZeG5xVno2Q1E/view?usp=sharing
Follow the instruction above. It will work.

Has this been tested or expected to work safely on v-410 LG pad 7.0?

Nice, I will update my sources and publish for the V410.
When doing a backup does it backup to the internal sdcard does it backup to /sdcard/data or /sdcard/data/0/ ?
Also I will try your recovery img on my V410 to see if they are compatible enough to boot the same image.
Update: Same image wont boot, we need custom images for each device.

Do you have a thread started or will you make a thread when you have a successful CWM for the v410?
Glad someone is getting one going

[RECOVERY] CWM 6.0 recovery for the ASUS ME172v (memopad)

Hi guys so after a long time I finally present to you the Clockworkmod recovery made for the ASUS MemoPad (ME172V)
Please note that this is a RC version and still needs a few more adjustments. However it's functional and mostly safe to use.
Now before you do anything read the guide carefully first and after that continue to flashing.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this recovery
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
What you need:
1.A ME172V tablet charged at least to 50%
2.A USB cable for transferring files.
3.A minimum 4GB microSD card formated to FAT32 (If it's formated to NTFS you'll have to reformat it)
4.A microSD computer adapter (optional)
1. ROOT
Ok so first you are gonna need to root this tablet.
For that we will use frank_que's root utility which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42047570&postcount=263
You extract the root zip on the root of your SD card. After you've done that, power off your tablet and insert the card now power it up again. The tablet will show a blue screen with 3 options. Using volume buttons go to root me172v and confirm via the power button. After that just follow the onscreen instructions and you will be fine.
2. SYSTEM DUMP
After that you're gonna have to create a dump of your current system files. This time we will use frank_que's system dump utility which can also be found on the link above (get version 2). So you do the same thing as you did for root (NOTE that you have to delete the root script from the SD card first) only this time instead of root you should select create dump. After a while the device will shut itself down.
3.RECOVERY
Once you have the dump, remove the SD card and turn the tablet on. In the meantime open the SD card and inside you will see a me172v folder and inside it a folder named dump. In the dump folder replace the mmcblk1p3.img file with the one you got here.
After that, power off the tablet and insert the SD card into it. Now power on the tablet, and when the blue screen shows select restore a previously saved dump and confirm with power. Now it will restore the partition backups made earlier only this time it will restore a modified recovery partition. After that is complete again the tablet will shut down. You remove the SD card and power it on.
In order to boot to recovery, you have to use adb since there is no button combo (yet). To do that use
Code:
adb shell
su
reboot recovery
You can do that with the terminal emulator on the tablet itself too (just without the adb shell command).
Now it should boot into a touch-enabled CWM.
Note 1: In order to flash system files, you have to go to Mounts and storage and manually mount the /system partition.
Note 2: For now you can only install zips from the internal memory. Installation from the SD card is being worked on.
Note 3: Remember to delete the script from the SD card because if you don't when you restart your tablet with that SD card inside it will start up the script.

Many thanks to franq_que for making the dump and root utilites, then thanks to crazykiddo for testing this recovery and last but not least to cybojenix for teaching me everything I know about Android as well as making some edits to this recovery.

Many thanks ... I could assist you.... My tab is softbricked... But fastboot works...
Is there any plan to bring this to newest firmware? @nerotNS
i assume the reason we cant enter cwm via a button combo is because the stock recovery does not even have one? -nice way to drop the ball there asus lol.... unless someone knows something i dont :-/ but hey if the op ever needs a tester or any dev for that matter with this device pm here ill be happy to help

The bootloader is the one to blame for not being able to boot with button combo, since they're not defined. I'm surprised why asus is locking it up so much...

dump recovery
this is my first time posting to a forum, so i hope i'm doing it right. i rooted my memo and it went correctly. then i did the dump. it saved to my sd, i changed out the file and then restarted. however, there are only the three options i have when i do the dump. create dump, reboot, power off. there is no option to recovery a saved dump. have i missed a step?
i have attached(assuming i did it correctly) a pic of the screen
nvr mind. i found the 2nd ver file and it has the recover option
How I can make full backup of my filesystem with apps and its settings to an external microSD, not internal memory?

We named them experimental, because the other builds havent had the dpi setting merged in. we had to call it something . It is very stable, though. the official nightlies come out SOON! the other people are pretty happy with it right now. give it a whirl
Working great, no issues so far. With newer cm 10.2 I can't restore with titanium, but I can with this one.

will this (all your kk roms) work from cwm v6.0.2.8 recovery?
the attached "Root kitkat_SuperSu.zip" is only for this rom?
or, universal for your kk roms? btw, busybox not seen. will this do?

yes of course the rom can be flashed with any recovery above cwm 6.0.
actually kitkat support flash of rom from cwm 5.5.
yes the attachment is universal for all mtk6589 devices. so its named like that.
busybox already included in the rom as well a busybox app is added as sometimes after rooting viper refuses to install or it get installed but after reboot again ask for drivers which is issue with busybox.
so u need to updated it from the app provided (ss no 6)
This rom is odexed which gives issue of rooting and customization (viper installation) so we need to follow these given steps.

This is one of the most downloaded rom after LG & android L.:good::good::good:
Good work, Avi. Very impressed with what you're doing for this phone.
Sorry that I haven't been too active to try any of these ROM's and give a feedback to you. Too busy with my exams and stuff.
Will try out one of these ROM's soon.
i flashed this rom using carliv touch recover v2.5 and then booted it is stucked in booting screen and then i change to stock rom and flashed CWM 6.0.2.8 and flashed the rom again but still the same problem !!
Are u on kitkat? If yes, use philz touch recovery. Then flash the rom
Sent from my Q3000 using XDA Free mobile app
currently im using the stock rom.......the philz recovery is in rar format and the flashify is not recognizing the rar files and recognizing only 7z format, is it possible to flash the philz recover in recover ?? my current recovery is carliv v2.5--->JB

Doesn't work for me either. Stuck at the boot logo.
Tried to flash it twice via Philz.
Sad to see that even though this ROM has the highest no. of downloads (I suppose), no one really cares to write a feedback.

My Phone came with JB. 4.2.1. First Xolo Q3k owner here, if you remember.
I previously had the same recovery installed, i.e. Philz. And the ROM I was previously using was XTREME V1 by you as well (pretty stable ROM, loved it. Wanted to try something new, so started messing around)

Oh, I'm currently using that ROM. And it seems good except for one thing.
For some reason, I'm not able to add a navigation bar via GB or any other Xposed Module. Tried a couple of them, but didn't work.
Edit - Alright, just checked. There's an option to add NavBar via Legend Setting in the settings. Enabled it, I got what I wanted. Will report back again if I anything.
.
Mr Avi, i want to download this rom but I'm not able to. When i follow the link, the file is not available there, it's saying file not available. Can you help me in this matter?

Bilingual CWM
thank you bilal for posting this procedure.
But it seems that in the link provided for "Bilingual CWM" , you linked another "360 root" .
I have the 4.3 with v 1.0.0B15 build version.
I will try your procedure when you provide the "Bilingual CWM".
Thank you for your help !

5kkkkk I need the google apps because I am spanish and I need the play store of google. When I read your message, I tried flash one custom rom from needrom.com (miui v7, and before it worked ok), but i have a very big problem since I uploaded to B16 stock rom; if I use other rom diferent of stock B16, the touchscreen does not work... I dont know why!!, but this is true... and only one when I come back to stock B16 rom.. then the touchscreen works again :S.
I have everything (root, recovery CWM english) ready for flash, if you can upload one custom rom with google apps for zte s291 please.. i am desesperated (my mother languague is spanish, and i know a bit of english for to write this, so...).
Maybe if that custom rom with google apps is based about B16, my touchscreen could works. These custom rom are in zte forums, but all are written in chinnese... and for me this is imposible.
How to download bilingual CWM from the first post?
Baidu requires to login, can someone put it to other (maybe more friendly) server to download?

Thanks for info, now I can download it too (don't know why i couldn't download yesterday)
Now I have problem with touch not working (after I tried this method of root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762565)
Any ideas how to restore touch?
EDIT:
To restore touch function, you have to replace corrupted boot.img using ADB (my software version is B11, i used boot.img from B17)
If you want to root, it's better to use english CWM (which includes root) than using methods posted on XDA
i need this version urgent ZTE_Grand_S_II_LTEV1.0.0.B16

Apply boot.img from B17 through adb and touch control will work fine (I had this problem after I've installed root)
Probably this is B17 software, but I don't remember (anyway - I've used boot.img from this rom to restore my touch control):
http://devicedownload.zte.com.cn/cn/UpLoadFiles/product/1102/soft/2015121010292565.zip
OR - maybe the best option:
Install CM12.1 (by alexeei) to fix problems with touch control:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64532271#post64532271
CM12.1 in my opinion is best rom for this phone so far (best performance, battery life, no freezes)
i have used this firmware
http://www.needrom.com/download/zte-grand-s-ii-lte/
how do i goto adb mode or fastboot .. ? before i used adb reboot-bootloader .. now i don't have access to adb
i have a factory reset on phone ..
i don't have CWM or twrp .. i have stock recovery

How to fix deadlock or headset problem...
Experimental kernel
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087004359
Code:
Note for who don't know how to upgrade kernel:
This zip file are not supposed to be flash in recovery
extract it 1 time, you'll get modules/ and kernel.tar
kernel.tar flash by odin or extract it to get boot.img and flash it by any method you want
modules/* copy to /system/lib/modules/, old file must be delete and copy new file to there (remember to backup old modules)
this kernel are supposed to not have any deadlock or headset problem, report to me if anything gone wrong
remember to backup your old kernel
know problem: incall make phone crash, will fix later
damn.. i forgot to fix RIL for s7582, RIL will not work for s7582
surprise: I just know how to fix dialer lag, our phone kernel set the limit to 60fps maximum frame rate, I tried to increase it to 70fps and dialer lag is gone xD
