Super keychain: trusted bluetooth, battery, flash drive - X 2014 Accessories

Came across this really cool keychain GOkey - it's a trusted bluetooth device, is a battery pack for charging, a USB cable for charging, and a USB storage device. They're still accepting preorders with the discounted price. Will post more when I get mine!

Nice find! Ordered it as well

$59 seems expensive...I can buy the motorola charging pack (which looks cooler IMO) and a 32gb drive+usb cable for less than that.

I think the draw of this is fitting all that into one little device, and not having 4 extra things on your keychain.

I know these cost more than the ones online, but are they any better?

The only great thing about monster is the profit margin they make stores. God I used to love convincing people how they "needed" a monster cable to get things to work the way they should. Of course this was when I made commision way back when I sold them lol.

Just order from monoprice and get the amazing gold plated microUSB cable for like a dollar.
LOL, Monster Cables.
Better one though is the Denon ethernet cable that costs $500: http://usa.denon.com/us/Product/Pag...roductId=f7d26b3a-05a6-4724-a5c1-2a63642a6206

Yep. Bought that one for the car and bought 2 6ft ones for indoors. All work flawlessly.
I ordered some generic cables on eBay and they work just fine. I do like the way that the micro usb side of the cable that came with the phone is angled, making it easier to plug in in the dark.
I've looked online and found the Samsung replacement part but it appears they are only 2' 9" long (which is a LOT shorter than the cable that came with the phone).
Here's one of the sites where I found this:
http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=38609&cat=888
Has anyone seen a longer (and possibly cheaper) cable like this?
Thanks!

Just buy the monoprice cable and score the right side of the microusb end with a knife or something so you can easily insert it in the dark.
Anyone seen one that is at a right angle that goes in the phone instead up straight up?
So when plugged in, in the car and mounted it doesn't go up like 2 inches before it turns back down.
**nevermind found one on ebay (searched usb cable micro angled)
I bought a 2 pack of retractable cables on ebay for portable charging. To my surprise they work to transfer data, too. It's interesting because the last retractable phone cable I bought could only be used to charge (samsung instinct)
Bought mine from NewEgg and an expensive one is about $15. I choose some that were $4 a piece. Works great
Just placed my order for 2 6ft ones. One to have at work and one at home.

do not get right angle! I made that mistake, it covers the 3.5 mm audio.
get an "Up angle" for a while usbfirewire.com was the only vendor and was $16 to $20 shipped depending on length, but they recently started showing up on ebay for $7 shipped.
I got an up angle from this vendor and it came fairly fast for hong kong (abut 7 days) and was a very good gauge and quality:

$7 shipped
Can anyone recommend a *thin and flexible* USB charging cable? I bought these from Amazon and although they work fine, they are too stiff and thick and I am worried that they will damage my port with prolonged use since I have to bend the cable before the phone lies flat on the table while charging. There are many other options out there but it is hard to judge by the picture how thin and flexible the cable is. I am looking for something as thin and flexible as the OEM cable. Thanks
Got mine in the mail the other day. Took about 3 days or so to get. Very quick shipping. The usb part that plugs into the phone is pretty snug.

Power banks/portable battery chargers

I was thinking on buying one and was wondering if anyone can give me an opinion/review on any
thanks in advance
I have the New Trent NT120T. It's the highest capacity I found and works well. It has 2 USB ports to charge 2 devices simultaneously. They also have smaller ones available that would be more pocketable.

im a little bit skeptical about these Chinese brand batteries, im afraid that they may provide extra current to the phone and burn the phone
I have the 5000mAh battery backup that's On monoprice for like $27. Has 2 USB ports, one at 1 amp for phones and another at 2.1 amps for tablets. Really nice build and charges my Nexus 4 fast. I def recommend it.

I have an Anker SlimTalk 3200mAh with which I'm very pleased. Slim, lightweight and it has a built in USB cable which means you don't have to carry another cable with you, although I wish the cable was just a little bit longer. Very good value for money.

Looking for a good portable battery

Just switched over from a gs3 to a nexus 4 and I like the phone but the one thing i miss is being able to carry a battery and swap em when I wanted. So now im looking for a portable charger I see anker has a lipstick 2600mah and 3200mah slim. Any recommendations ? maybe different brands.

I use the 3A dual port charger from monoprice and it works very well. I understand that you probably are looking for something smaller since referencing the lipstick models but I can say that monoprice items (especially simple ones) tend to work just fine and are also usually pretty cheap.

i am using this one too and it's one of the best 5000mah packs out there, the capacity is real since i can charge my nexus 7 fully with it and still have a bit left and it charges fast too.
be careful with those ones that greg linked that attached right to the phone without cable. It is very easy to damage the micro usb port on your phone with it. It's ok if you just leave it on a table but throwing soemthing like that in a pocket or backpack can be risky. Might be ok with iphone since the apple socket is a lot more robust than a micro usb.
I bought this and I have to say I'm satisfied and amazed by this little thing.

USB Cable / Neo Hybrid

So i'll preface this by saying, there isn't a thread dedicated to this topic, and the other topics don't really address this issue head on. It's really to try and provide neo hybrid owners with a good source of where to get a cable that meets all the requirements.
Basically neo hybrid owners, besides the cable supplied with the galaxy nexus:
micro usb cables currently being used,
whether or not you had to modify it in any way
if it [email protected] the standard 1900mah rating
i've struggled to find a usb cable that works other than the oem, which is a bit shorter than i'd like. i went through a bunch of cables without the case on and to my pure shock, most of them charged at a rate ranging from 300 - 780!

so went through about 10 cables, only one non oem cable actually rated 1900mah charge rate, which was by iluv but doesn't fit the neo hybrid. scoured the amazon reviews and no one really mentioned working cables there just that they had issues with non oem cables on there as well

The white Kindle cable I have fits. I have no idea what rate it charges at, though.
My media bridge charging usb charges at full rate, but I had to mod it to fit.
Note that media bridge sells two different types of usb cables. The ones with the grey connectors are charge only and that is what I am using.
They are dirt cheap and ship prime on Amazon, so modding them is not to scary.

hm, actually ordered two cables from media bridge (the black connectors). One i lost (ordered 2 because I knew it would lose one) and the other actually stopped working. You just reminded me to call about warranty, as they have a nice 1 year warranty.

actually managed to find my spare cable, it's great in terms of quality and it charges @ 1900mah, and i'm waiting to hear back about the cable that isn't working (the prongs no longer keep the cable in place when connected). i'll have to modify this type of cable to work but it's better than using a cable that charges slowly.
I use a dremel tool to trim the plastic on the USB cable to make it mine fit. I do the same with audio (3.5mm headphone jack) cables.

i should have broken out the dremel. instead I used a razor blade, came out fine though...
also heard back about my defective cable, just had to provide some info and a picture of the cable cut in half and i'm good to go to get a new cable.
I have the black mediabridge 6ft cable. It works but it charges extremely slow compared to stock cable. Possibly because of its length? Not sure
That's odd, it charges at the same 1900mah rate that the stock cable does. It should take the same amount of time regardless.

usb chrager cable not working well

Hi
I bought a cheap Chinese USB charger cable for my N4 and I feel like it doesn't charge as well as the original... (although I use the same AC power)
Could it be ? or is it just me ?
It's the cheap cabling, I have the same issue with cheap 3 metre cabling I bought on eBay.

@SMillerNL = You should see the annual report of some of the big western companies to figure that most of their profits comes from people like you
get a proper usb cable, i got a cheap Chinese one and the usb split on one side and the connection to the phone was too short so i had to cut some of the insulation off.

Can anyone advise which cable to buy, if someone had experience with any particular cable?
It's not that I don't wanna pay, or that I look for cheap one.. but still there are some limits
Just looking for good one. Friend bought few cables, they were so stiff I was afraid they will break if you wiggle them, and micro usb port was also hard to inject into phone..was afraid to break micro usb port..
Was looking on LG web, couldn't find it for buy..
So, looking if someone have experience with some particular cable. TnX
Best cables I have ever used. Very high quality, they feel very much like (dare I say it), Apple cables with the hard shell.

I use the monoprice premium cables too. Had it for a couple months and no breaks yet. And life time warranty. Better than the amazon basic cables.
Ah yes, already checked monoprice, looks like good quality cables, but problem is that they don't ship to my country
And even if they did, I checked country next to mine, price would be ~20$, so..
TnX anyway
Try amazon. I bought mine through there.
Have you thought about wireless chargers? Fry's usually has those for about $20, and they come with a USB cord.
