Open PhoneManager app and swipe towards left. You will see option of app lock.
Found it, but it asks for pin and not fingerprint ID

Go to settings > fingerprint id and check the option of using fingerprint for locking apps.
Then go to phone manager and select the apps you want to lock...

Still asks pin. What is the Pın default? 3 times to try.
If you use fingerprint you must have pin to unlock your device. First time when you request you write your pin and this pin it's to unlock app to

Avoid power button problems with LockScreen

As we can unlock our Nexus 5X with our fingerprint in a comfortable way, I think LockScreen is also great to lock the device from a (material design adapted) widget. And you can also use transparent widgets!
You can download it from Google Play (it's free!).
I've developed this app so, please, any feedback is welcome!
Best regards!

Doesn't work correctly on the 5X, once you have locked using the widget, you are then unable to unlock again with the fingerprint reader, you have to then use the keypad, that defeats the object of having a fingerprint sensor.

Personally I lock my screen by setting double tap in nova launcher to do the hibernate and lock screen feature from greenify. Fingerprint still unlocks the phone without using the keypad

I'm pretty sure it does not... same issue with this.
Unless you create a widget that activate a root task to lock the screen, it will ask for the keypad.

I use nova launcher's gesture control to also launch Greenify's Hibernate and Lock Screen. Which works as intended... Fingerprint scanner unlocks device. Maybe im missing something in what you are saying.

Just tested it already too, does not work for me.
And it seems to be a known issue since 2 others thread are talking about it already
Maybe there's something you guys have done differently that make this work but I've done this :
1/ setting double tap on home screen with nova launcher to launch Greenify's Hibernate and Lock screen
2/ once device locked and screen turned off, puting my finger on the fingerprint. It does wake the phone but asks for the pin code which does not when you lock the phone with the hardware power button
And it's the same behavior with other launchers and apps that can turn off the screen

The only thing i have done is root the phone no other system modifications have been made on my device i am still encrypted, no custom lock screen or any of that business.

All I've done is root my phone and given greenify root access.

I've removed encryption, maybe that's the thing that's triggering this behavior

Any app that locks the screen, fingerprints doesn't work afterwards. It's not just this app.
Same thing happens when using Screen Off app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.matthijsvh.screenoff
mine is rooted and i use greenify "lockscreen+hibernate" widget without a problem

New Verizon update booked my fingerprint unlock

Title says it all, Verizon update at the beginning of September left me unable to use fingerprint unlock. I know it is a software problem because I can still use my fingerprint for web sign in and purchases. When you try to unlock it says "use pin instead of fingerprint due to security policy" anyone got any ideas?
do you use another app to lock your device such as a double tap gesture in nova? if so that is why I had same issue and disabled the gesture and all works fine now. You can test it lock with the button and it asks for fingerprint there you go.

Nova launcher/Fingerprint unlock

I'm guessing that many of you are using the Nova launcher. I'm struggling to consistently use a Nova gesture to lock the screen and then allow the fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. Looked everywhere, tried Nova with/without device admin, Greenify alternative screen off, Nova screen timeout etc but the results always vary. Sometimes I can unlock using FP reader, mostly, I get device locked by administrator message.
Does anyone have a reliable way to allow to allow Nova screen off gesture and allow FP to unlock?

ahaha imho root is always necessary
with root fingerprint unlock is working on my oneplus6.
you just need to specify the root method for unblocking.
Also, face unlock is working as well with nova.

NOT true, just set locking style in Nova to timeout, works flawlessly. I used it like this for few days, before I rooted my 1+6

Yes you're right but i don't like the "timeout" quest
I have been using nova prime with face unlock no problem all day today, just tested fp unlock and it works flawlessly too, do you have a modded version of Nova?

haha Crickets
FP unlock is working, but I needed to do the following:-
Set Nova screen lock method to screen timeout
Set Greenify to use alternative screen off mode
Lock screen set to 15 seconds after sleep
Power button doesn't lock immediately
Don't set Nova as a device admin.
Made the below tweaks to fix this on Realme X3.
1. Disabled screen lock under Nova Launcher>gesture settings
2. Enabled double tap to screen lock in device settings
3. Did a double tap to enable Nova launcher to perform screen lock using Accessibility Services
4. You have to allow Nova Launcher under the Accessibility Services

Question Fingerprint to unlock apps without using a locked homescreen?

Anyone know how to keep fingerpint to unlock apps without using a lock on the homescreen?
Im not a fan of locking my homescreen but i like being able to use my fingerpeint to unlock banking apps instead of logging in with password.
It seems like you need a fingerprint lockscreen to keep the feature to unlock apps with fingerprint. They seem to be connected. Any way around it?
You could put the apps you want locked into the secure folder.
+1. It'd be great to be able to log into apps with fingerprint and keep using swipe or a pin code to unlock our phones. Anyone know of a way?

Gotcha. I'm the opposite... still would like a lock screen but using the other alternatives..
Probably no way around it sense the biometrics on your device are a shared asset. It references what the phone identifies as you to identify you in the app. Its why you can have four finger prints that can verify you in the bank app but you only need one for the initial setup. And switching to none for lockscreen removes all biometrics.
