OH MY GOD! Very very thanks to Developers

@mods
sorry if I goofed up in creating the DevDB project, been a long time since I created a thread. Please feel free to make edits wherever necessary

We are quite aware of the bugs that are existing. So posting "Camera not working", " OMG I can't save anything " won't help the need and would receive nothing but ignorance from our side.. I would strongly recommend you guys to follow discipline here because without that it is not possible to get things working and on the right track, quickly and easily.. Provide logcats where you see errors.. Not the complete one right from the boot time.. There are many apps like catlog, andylog that can help you take logcats.. If you want to learn more about logcats, kmsg, etc. please use Google.. I expect a healthy response from everyone and a helping hand because this will go hand in hand. Thank You.

U R The King!!!!
I waiting for that long time...
I'm here to help with any tests if you need, just PM me

This is really epic
This is going to be new era for N900
Thanks for working on N900

OH MY GOD finally thank you so freaking much im following your project

The best donation that you can give us at this moment is 'Logs' related to the things that are not working. We aren't doing anything for money here. Just your help in whatever small form for making this fully stable would be great

What is Sailfish?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailfish_OS
This is not Android!
This should be thought of as a development experiment. It may be useful if you are a developer and want to write/port apps the the Sailfish operating system. It is not an end-user product, however, if you wish to experiment and try something different then feel free!
Please do not contact Jolla Care or Jolla Developer Care, as this is not the Jolla phone

Installation
Make sure you have an up-to-date recovery. I used 4ext touch. Philz recovery doesnt have the required tar command.
Format/wipe etc
For version < pgz11 Install the latest CM10.1 and make sure it works
For pgz11 onwards Install CM 12.1 nightly 20120131 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-desire-hd/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-nightlies-t3070621
Copy the .zip to the SDCard and install it. The installation script take a little time.
First Run
On first run you are presented with a language selection, after this time you should be presented with the first-run wizard. Complete as much as possible, but dont try and create a Jolla account as there wont be a network connection (unless you have inserted a sim and by chance it works, I havnt tested that). To get out of the wizard, scroll down because the 'skip' link is off the bottom of the screen.

Bugs
Lots
Several major graphical bugs, such as the keyboard struggling to show and corruption in the windows of minimized apps. This is probably down the the kernel hack I made to get apps to load. (no longer true as of pgz11)
Cellular network is pretty unusable. No audio input! (fixed in pgz13)
Proximity sensor is not working and blanks the screen (note, progress has been made on this)
Mobile data is not working (being worked on) (fixed in pgz13)

Interesting, this is great.
I suggest you post in the right thread for people to see this amazing project you have started.
Sailfish for our device; keep up the good work, will love to see more.
hope it doesn't end here.
That's a great rom, especially if it can work for daily driver. Using the DHD with sailfish and respond as fast as a dual or quad android phone would be great(even if it's not android)
1st I prefer speed/response time
2nd then android (I prefer 1st anyday)
This actually seems pretty cool! The feel I get is that this is miles ahead of Ubuntu Touch when I was working on it. It would be fun to see how awesome this could get with a full development team working on it as their dayjob. After all, this seems to be more suitable for old single-core device than the latest Android versions have been. Great job PiggZ! :good:
Sound is working
Good news peeps, I got sound output working! A new rom will follow in a few days
Ive been using this for the last weeks to allo developing sailfish applications, and for that purpose it is working just fine. Ive not attempted to get the mobile network up yet, but i'll make some enquiries.
Obviously development so moved to the right place.
OP, please make sure you have the ability to post in this thread. If not, please let me know.
Good luck!

Update
Just a small update, I managed to make a call from Sailfish on the ACE!
It wasnt a great experience...the proximity sensor is playing up, so I want that working before I make any update.

Maybe, this is the last big interesting thing in this legacy device...

CM13 Unofficial ROM Port (F1f)(Link)

Hello everybody,
Here is a custom cm13 port for the Oppo f1f, it is unofficial and unsupported as far as I'm aware.
Thanks go out to uberlaggydarwin for doing all the work on the F1f so far.
(Edit: I can't post links on new account. Pm me for link)
So far bugs are many including no sim card working.
We all need to get together and test and develop for this device and not leave it to one person. Make sure you all thank BrinlyAus aka Uberlaggydarwin for his dev efforts so far.

I'll be starting to build cm13 for f1f next week. I'll be using @uberlaggydarwin work as a starting point so again thanks to him. I have already had a quick look and don't think it will take to much to get it usable, so hopefully I'll have a build up pretty quick.

If you really want a taste of a working marshmallow I suggest you try the Project Spectrum Beta:
http://www.oppomobile.vn/forum/t/rom-beta-6-0-cho-oppo-f1-kem-root.24792/
I haven't tested it but I have read the bugs are minors.
yes project spectrum beta v1.0 is worth the try m usin it on my phone installed it todaih itself, very minor bugs, me no dveloper . the bug i noticed is 1) black border at bottom of snapchat app (resolution issue maybe) , and sometimes SD card doesnt detect ( reboot fixes it easily) others thngs just fine
How to install this spectrum beta rom... Should we change also from stock recovery to twrp ?
I suppose that it doesn't include color os ?
Thanks

Sorry for polluting this topic, I agree. But since I haven't tried it myself I was not going to make the topic and I though that making aware the people that were so impatient about a marshmallow rom about it could help.

True. I am trying to assist with cm13. But in the mean time I did cm12.1 build, and apart from WiFi and camera not working everything else I tried works great. Better than ColourOS, so if I can fix those it will be my daily driver untill we get cm13.

[DEVELOPMENT] Nougat 7.0 for Moto G4 Plus

OK, so I'm building nougat based on CAF sources that have launched yesterday CyanogenMod 14.
I need help of some developers and testers so that i'll be able to boot it successfully.
Need testers!
I have worked on many such projects. I had been the first one for booting marshmallow on my oneplus2 too.
Current status:
Building cm14, bootloops.
@vache has taken over making cm14
Given the device, I would have proceeded but I do not have enough time to work on it now lol

Edit 3: Made a Telegram Testers group. https://telegram.me/joinchat/BVYC_QnCC_nXPYQsevwlLw
Edit 2: Sorry for the delay, had had a finger hairline fracture while goalkeeping. I had switched to making cm14 as a new ROM seemed meaningless as I'm already going to bring halogenOS here.
Edit: Head over to github.com/Nougat-Athene which is the organisation. Just ask for invitation if you'd like to help
Note: This is strictly a development thread for nougat development for the Moto G4 Plus. If you want to spam this thread please do not comment!
I would love to help test
Thanks a lot. To builders, I'm making steady progress compiling. I've got inline kernel compiling and everything on now. Just some more changes and we will have the first build. I'm locked out of my own server now ? So wait for tomorrow!
Edit: Maybe we could make an organisation and work together too.

Builds can be built. Just have skme issues. I'll fix them when I get back home. First build will be till Friday night. So be prepared!
I could have done today itself but had my birthday so had to go out for dinner as well as lunch.
PS: do not spam the thread with wishes xD pm them if you wanna.

You can call it a full fledged nougat rom based on caf specifically for moto g4 plus. Hence it is taking some time. I'll add some useful features too when it boots!

[ROM][STABLE][J600G]Revolution S9 ROM

Revolution ROM for J6 (2018)
It all starts here
Code:
Your warranty is now void.
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about flashing this zip file
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. HARD!
DO NOT TAKE MY STUFF WITHOUT PERMISSION!
YOU WILL BE REPORTED BY DOING SO
Introducing, my very first direct S9 port!
So, you decided to buy this phone, huh? Maybe you had no choice, maybe you only saw "octa-core chip" and jumped all over it, or maybe you just assumed that you would just download ROMs from XDA to make this device better since all other devices contain ROMs on this forum by the truck loads.
Then you get to the sad realization that generally speaking, this phone is really bad and no developer would want to buy this 2018 device with a 2016 processor and barely any sensors lol
Well, I hope I can at least ease a bit of that pain with this ROM. I am no master developer, but at least I know my development a-b-c's... but just barely.
So, it is only fair to warn you the following (aside from that giant disclaimer at the beginning of the thread lol):
If you are expecting this device to run as smooth as an S9 phone, have the expectation to download this ROM to improve your battery life by 50% , are expecting this ROM to run Fortnite at the highest settings possible as an actual S9 would or even expect the Benchmark scores like Antutu to increase, THEN STOP! STAY IN STOCK ROM!
AS I STATED, I AM NO MASTER DEVELOPER, MY KNOWLEDGE ONLY EXTENDS TO FRAMEWORK EDITING, I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ON KERNEL TWEAKING
And even if a dev tweaked the kernel to run faster, I doubt any of the above would happen, lower your expectations you're not dealing with a high end device
OK, rant out of the way. Let's get started!
Supported variant: SM-J600G (I do not know if this will run on any other variant, if you decide to try please give me feedback so I can update post)
Features:
*S9 Firmware
*Edge panels
*Edge lighting
*Smart select
*GIF recording
*Smart stay
*S9 Multiwindow (Pop-up view action)
*Open notifications in multiwindow mode
*Smart capture
*Scroll capture
*Infinity wallpapers
*And I think for the most part, all the features that the J6 offers by default
*More to come, of course
ROM Info:
*Based on S9 firmware G960FXXS2BRJ6
*Deodexed
*Zipaligned
*Busybox
*Slightly debloated
*Rooted with Magisk
Bugs:
*Mobile Hotspot does not work
*Phone lags at the initial boot due to being rooted with Magisk. To fix this, you just have to reboot upon getting to welcome screen
*Resolution looks a bit blurry. To fix this, just go to Settings->Display Settings->Resolution and change resolution to WQHD+, apply and the change back to HD+ and apply. Then the bug is fixed.
*This is initial release, expect bugs other than these mentioned. Please report if you find more
*AOD: Does not work at the moment
*Currently does not work with 2 SIMs inserted [FIXED]: Thanks for tutorial to BlackMesa123 here and thanks to @corsicanu for discovery
Changelog:
*13/12/20108 V1.0*
Initial release
Download links:
Google Drive
More mirrors to come
Installation instructions
-Create full backup before trying
-Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik
-Install ZIP via TWRP
-Let it boot for aprox 20 minutes
-Once booted, select language in start up screen and reboot the phone
This is done to remove lag due to being rooted with Magisk
-Complete setup
-Enjoy

How to report a bug/Ask for a change
Over the small amount of time I've been doing my edits and shared them with the community, I've noticed something that seems to irritate me. I can't speak for all the developers on this forum, but I do edits/ROMs/PORTs/etc... to what I like. I don't work for anybody else but me. I share my work because it may have something of value to other people and/or some people may share the same taste as me on regards to what they want on a ROM.
That being said, that doesn't mean I will completely ignore what the community has to say.
First and foremost, it must be said, I am merely a beginner. I do not claim to be a professional developer that knows how to add everything, I am nowhere close and I learn as I go.
There are ways to ask for something and/or report a bug when it comes to ROMs, and this post is my attempt to try to explain how to (and how not to) report a bug in order to help me out as much as possible to try to fix something
You can also ask for something to be added, but there are also ways to ask for something
So, here we go
Keep in mind:
I do not add stuff that can easily be downloaded from the Playstore
I, myself, don't do kernel edits
I COULD remove stuff if NOBODY uses it
---REPORTING BUGS---
How NOT to report a bug:
"SystemUI (or any app)is crashing, please help!"
"Instagram doesn't allow me to edit my post, what could be wrong?"
"My bank account app is not letting me do such thing"
These posts are sort of pointless as they only state something but I have no context on what could be causing it. Also, I can't really control (for the most part) third-party apps, so if you're going to ask about them this way, don't even bother
A slightly better way to report a bug:
"I clean installed the ROM and was working fine, after I installed Facebook and logged in, I immediately uploaded a photo and SystemUI started to crash. Can you look in to it?"
"I tried to install Black Neon theme (a link to it would work as well) and it was working fine until I tried to activate AOD (or anything else for some reason) and SystemUI (or any other app) is crashing, could you look in to it?"
"My bank account app doesn't let me take a screenshot of my accounts. I get a toast notification saying "Can't take screenshot due to security policy"
As you can see, this provides a bit more context and explanation on your current situation. This gives me a little more detail on trying to replicate the problem and hopefully could fix it by replicating it. Well, except for point #3 which is out of my hands for the most part (I think). If you include what kernel you're using would make everything better! Also any significant change that would require root (like xposed and or anything that modifies /system also needs to be informed for better results)
The BEST way to report a bug:
LOGCAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please learn the ins and outs of a logcat, this really helps a lot on finding what the problem is. Also, please give a brief explanation as the above examples when providing a log cat
---ASKING FOR STUFF TO BE ADDED---
How NOT to ask for stuff:
On your next update, add iris scanner
You should add (app) on your next update
Hey, please add (app or feature) on your next update
No, I do not work for you. Even if you say please like the third example, that doesn't mean you're being polite. It still sounds like an order lol so you should probably rephrase your request.
How to ask for stuff to be added to my work:
Would you be so kind to add (feature) to your ROM, if possible?
Would it be possible to add this app to your ROM?
Please, can you add (feature) to your ROM, if it isn't much to ask?
See how politeness makes everything better? You're not demanding it, you're just politely asking to see if maybe it is within my grasp to add something. And if all request would be like this, I can assure you I'd try my best to add said feature
I hope this is useful to you or I at least hope that some people read it.
If not, I can just tell you to return to stock ROM, probably better than any ROM I put out anyway
Lol this is #3
Final reservation
Awesome work :good: glad we see more people interested in development. keep it up

Hope it comes one day with native black theme
I really appreciate your work.
Nice start, however I'm not port fn. More into other roms like valdius, tipsy, lineage, resurrection remix

Thanks for trying this rom. to use galaxy themes you would need to change build.prop inside /system. actually i forget to update build.prop.

Download aroma file manager from here
go to twrp>mount>system
after it install aroma file manage as you install any zip
it will open a file manager go to sdcard and copy this build.prop
and paste it inside system folder. overwrite if it ask for.
and after reboot themes will start working. i will update rom so that themes is enabled by default. thanks for that.

AWWWWWWWSOME.......... thanks for trying out the eXynos ROM.
sensors are working it is just bug in auto-rotate because of port issue i will fix it in latest build.
i don't have telegram group but you can pm me on xda.
i was thinking to make camera work but it require resources.
so, i was in the process of making android Oreo(8.1) for this phone.
if you like i have also ported dot OS 7.1.1 to this phone which is super smooth and light like this rom and is aosp. but i was waiting to get response in this build before releasing more.
