for right now yes but I will be adding quite a few modifications to it. Right now this one was mainly a test to see how hard it was to modify the camera apk and it turned out to not be to difficult once I found the locations for everything

The jpeg quality part i know works. Its the file limit im looking at now. I will have v3 up in about 10 min with many more changes
Does this fix the grain or fuzzy look?

With the higher butrate i would think so. I havent done a thorough test

up close is going to be fuzzy to an extent because the camera cant focus up to close. If someone can figure that out and pass it on to me then right now this is meant to increase recording limits and for better quality in general

Ok the site is back up, I temporarly got rid of the theme so its just a file structure again until I can figure out the problem.
I would like to have fixed focus video recording. It's constantly auto focusing during video it'll give you a seizure

The Verizon developers edition note 4 is rooted. I haven't tried this camera mod yet though, it looks useful though.

To my understanding they have a developer edition for Verizon with a unlockes bootloader

everyone..i have been able to kick slow mo up to 1080... but I broke a few things trying, 720 is now 1920x1080 no matter what but in return I am now able to record 1/2 slow mo at 1920x1080. Any slower and it freaks out. But anyways here is the camera test I made. Tell me what you think

Comparing the 720p to the 1080p, the 1080 smooths out the leaves, I did notice a difference side by side, but not as much as I was expecting.

The mediaprofile smali file. The media profile xml is for video bitrates but also that is related to the smali file. They work in unison

The way that is right now is the way i found works best so far. Increased jpg file another 50kb and i had up a comparison shot of 96 and 100. It was noticable zoomed in

Steps for replacing Manually.
• Replace the Stock SamsungCamera2.apk (path: system/app/SamsungCamera2/SamsungCamera2.apk) and media_profiles.xml (path: system/etc/media_profiles.xml) with the one provided in attached .zip file.
Set Correct permissions
• Folder Permission : 0755 [rwxr-xr-x]

TO DO AFTER FLASHING OR REPLACING FILES MANUALLY
1. Goto recovery mode, and clear cache from revocery.
2. Reboot phone after clearing the cache, and then clear camera data from settings-->General-->Application Manager.

Your Device Needs to be ROOTED.
Make sure. You have granted Root Access to ES File Explorer...
Just replace it.

I was planning to Create this Mod from past 3 weeks.
Before creating this Mod I approached @kevinrocksman via PM for his help. But he didn't responded to my Queries. See attachment.
So I made this Mod without any body's help.
I do Agree that both Mods are similar.
See my other threads, I always Thank to other devs if I take help from them or if I use their work.
Anyhow Thanks to @kevinrocksman for This Thread because this thread inspired me to create this Mod.
And Thanks to @zamcum for the similar Mod in this Thread point No : 9.

The point is that, your work is a copy.

I used same bitRate because I have seen thread by @kevinrocksman.
So I used same bitRate.
If you are so much irritated then report it to Moderator.

The zip just needs flashing through recovery
Can this be flashed through flashfire on the galaxy s7 sprint?

1080p60 does not like HDR and Snapshot, it keeps causing buffer issues and force closes. I'll check the front camera after.

Nope either unfortunately. Possibly a bug in the Camera or an actual limitation. I know screenshots have definitely worked before. HDR on the S7 could be enabled for 1080p60 but couldn't handle light changes which is why I had to keep it disabled on the S7.
That 10min recording limit is definitely going

ok thanks btw I noticed aqua mode disappeared from the modes after flashing this mod (which fixed the double panorama modes) possible to get it back? I'm on Renovate ICE ROM. thank you.

but how about JPG quality? Is there a REAL difference between shots with stock ( is 96?) and 98 or 100?
When I edit a photo in photoshop/gimp anything over 80% seems the same to me...

98 > 100 is very hard to tell. I think 98 is the best compromise.
Don't forget also HDR in 4K and QHD modes !
Anyone know what determines Camera Modes, someone here mentioned they had Aqua mode?
By default my Camera did not have Aqua. Does anyone have this mode by default on their device with the stock Camera?

If you install renovate ice then you can get aqua mod. I tried finding this on samy app store but it's not there. Yes stock rom doesn't have this mod it's only custom rom specific.

Ahh, Aqua wouldn't really work as the normal S8 doesn't have an Active button to take pictures.
If there are any other modes missing you can think of, let me know as I may be able to force them.

I did mention about aqua mode, and as previous comment it's with the Renovate ICE ROM. I can take pictures with the volume buttons and with the Bixby button as I remapped it to launch camera and take pics.

Nice finding at Sharpness and Denoise Setting. That looks very promising to me.
From what i see in utube videos, camera images tend to look very HDR overpainted. It would be very cool to find some controls to reduce this artificial look. Or to increase contrast by default in photos. But it may depend on Auto HDR setting in Camera settings...

I may have found a bug and wondering whether 8.1.00.13 needs the latest rom BRG6.
I'm currently on BRF8, when I try Super Slow Motion on Manual mode it freezes on saving video.

This camera mod version looks buggy. Building magisk module outputs 0byte zip file.
Edit: build was successful after phone reboot but still experiencing black screen and camera error.

This broke my camera and reinstalling my rom (cache/dalvik wipe only) soldier 6.0 still doesn't fix. Restored camera from TiB, still FC. I need my camera back so what do I do? I really don't want to do a full wipe of the device!
Using the app to restore the camera doesn't work either.
FYI. Mod works without any issue if you select stock Samsung Gallery when flashing Soldier's BRG6 rom.
Edit: except super slow motion manual mode.
Can you please tell us what's going on with the black camera screen and fc issues. I bought the app, modded the camera on a rom based on stock and had this issue.
it would've been very helpful if the restore stock camera option actually worked.
