Android ARMv6 Project

Hi everyone!
OK, I got this idea a few days back, and now it's starting to form
I thought that all the developers for ARMv6 devices (like myself) should come together and work with each other on a GitHub organization to share all the changes in the code to make ICS and Jelly Bean work on ARMv6 devices. Tell me what you think. Also if you a developer interested, PM me
Thanks!

I think its a great idea!!! The guys back at the galaxy prevail forums on androidforums would be real excited!!!
Sent from my prevail using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
It would great, i think. because 1 rom with many developers and bugfree is better, than 10 roms with few developers and many bugs.
Go for it!!
However, it may well involve ugly stuff like that .c file I posted. Another project worth a look is Bellagio's omx-ffmpeg library on SourceForge.
Great idea man, thumbs up
Thanks for the feedback

[project] [rom] First jelly bean custom rom for Samsung galaxy ace plus GT-S7500

This is project started to discuss about first jelly bean rom for Samsung galaxy ace plus gt-s7500..
As it is confirmed that galaxy ace plus will be getting jelly bean 4.1 upgrade...
This project will be started as soon as jelly bean upgrade is officially released for galaxy ace plus...
I started this thread so early to discuss about how users want that rom to be... So that I can start preparing for it from now and learn if I don't know about something...
So please everyone post your suggestions...
Also i was thinking to make a team or something for this project...
So if anyone knows any development things and wants to be part of the team then please comment below...
Even i am not a good developer so it doesn't need you to be really a great developer... All I need is that person has basic knowledge like modifying rom, editing apk files and other things too...
I don't have Linux system and don't have any experience in kernel development so we need a Kernel developer too...
If anyone wants cynogenmod and has Ubuntu than try this tool by lithid-cm called CyanogenMod Compiler

I love you bro.
1st.
If that's the case, first you should change the stock apps. (There's a list of stock apps that can be deleted without hurting your phone.
2nd.
You should add many scripts that can boost our phone to maximum speed. Like on your ROM (Ofcourse it needs init.d support).
3rd.
While learning about modding, try to learn how to port CM10. Since we'll be having Jelly Bean, there will be alot of Devs that know how to port it. Try asking them. (We also have Blackburner)
These are all suggestions, just tell me if you don't like it, I'll continue to add suggestions.
I personally like the GO Keyboard, GO Launcher, GO Locker, Quickpic (Gallery), and Handcent SMS (Messaging). (Many more though)
Sent from my GT-S7500
I love you too... LOL
Init.d support is must... About porting that I am currently learning even thou I don't have my computer...
And I was thinking of adding aroma installer so that everyone can choose between stock apps and other apps...
I can't do all alone and it seems that no one here is willing to participate...

The only thing I can do for the time being is gather all developers for Ace Plus.
thanks for the support
i myself tried to modify some roms with disastrous results as i pretty much was not sure of anything myself
i decided it was better to leave these type of things to experienced developers
thank you for continued support for our phones
things i would like in a custom rom for jelly bean
1 touchwiz 5.0 if you can
2 some speed enhancement tweaks
thank you :good:
Maybe it would be easier to port touchwiz5 when we get jb upgrade... I will try that...

Can the DSIXDA kitchen be used on those jelly bean roms to add some tweaks? Also, once we have the JB, it will be one thousand times easier to port Cyanogen 10 using, maybe, the galaxy nexus sources.
Enviado do meu ace plus usando atomic rom com Tapatalk 2 e SwiftKey keyboard U.U
ETA - estimated or expected time of arrival:good:
Maybe kitchen supports jb... As it supports our device in gb... Let's leave cm development to experts because I have no idea how to do that...
If anyone wants to try then search for a guide... I am sure I saw one somewhere...
All guides are for Linux system so if you anyone have Linux system i.e. Ubuntu try a tool by lithid-cm called CyanogenMod Compiler or CMC.

No u can't because we dont have the kernel sources for jb.
Somebody needs to make mmx understand what does Gpl stands for and by not releasing the kernel sources they are violating the gpl licensing terms.

Then we can use the source tree used there to edit this MMX one accordingly...

Guys with out the full kernel source which the OEM refuses to provide your not gonna get very far. And the source for the MTK chip is not the full source. We are in talks now about what to do with these forums as they break our gpl rules.

The version you stated uses the same thunderzap kernel by vatun.chitre[most part of it]..and it will work without much problem because cm9 is based on 4.0.4 and thunderzap is based on mmxa110 4.0.4 kernel sources which was released by mmx at the first place....and we still do not know if they will release JB kernel sources or not…so I am not sure if cm10 works will go the same way as of the cm9....I will try to compare the two kernels later today though......

CM9 is not a problem, IMO. I think If someone just starts it it can be completed within a week[atleast boot].. Because everything is available.[ kernel source + CM sources + device tree]. But CM10 requires 4.2 kernel sources which has not been released while CM9 requires 4.0.4 kernel[source code available publicly + thunderzap is based on 4.0.4 kernel, so no need to do much work on kernel.]
EDIT:
A110 Device tree : https://github.com/varunchitre15/android_device_a110
Thunderzap[based on 4.0.4 kernel sources] : https://github.com/varunchitre15/thunderzap_canvas_2
and CM9 sources links : you can get from their website...
4.0.4 Similar Stock Kernel : https://github.com/aquila-dev/wiko_s9081_stock_kernel
Now what I found yesterday is WIKO Cink-King JB kernel sources : https://github.com/wiko-sources/cink-king
So, I now think that If we do some progress we can correctly boot CM10 by using the JB kernel to edit and get a custom kernel for a110...I am not very sure...This is what I think...If anyone can advice, It would be great...
fyi - those build DO NOT REQUIRE any Custom Kernel. i switched zImage in the CM9 boot.img and worked like a charm. we`ll need to get those mediatek propietary sources working. im working on a CM9 myself, does not get further than our french friends here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246892 .

I have no idea on this part...because, till today I thought kernel customizations are needed to run cm. So we can use the cink-king sources + device tree a110 for this. I really have no idea...

me neither xD does not have such coding skillz yet. for this build, on this point, it isn`t necessary. maybe you cant use e.g. TUN/TAP when not compiled in the kernel, but basic features should work.
Delete
I'm one of those frenchies that try to make it work. As you saw we made it boot actually without that much problem, but before saying it works there's a lot of work.
I'd like to explain one small thing here since it seems people or thinking that because Cyanogen released the sources, we can get something working on any device. THIS IS WRONG. Even if we have a kernel sources or a "device tree"
Cyanogen includes some vendor sources, like Qualcomm for exemple. This why you'll get some things like
Code:
BOARD_USES_QCOM_HARDWARE := true
COMMON_GLOBAL_CFLAGS += -DQCOM_HARDWARE -DBINDER_COMPAT -DANCIENT_GL
COMMON_GLOBAL_CFLAGS += -DQCOM_LEGACY_OMX
in your "device tree" configuration.
Then take a look at the stuff that are in android_hardware_* there's some source code for qcom, some for samsung some for texas instrument and strangely nothing regarding mediatek. Those files are important otherwise we need to use the binaries already compiled to make them work.
Looking at the assembly code from the actual wiko-peax running under ICS, some modifications have bee done on hwcomposer. So we can't use directly the provided headers that are inside cyanogen sources since they are not the one used by mediatek. Mediatek hwcomposer for instance uses a mmumapper that nobody else uses.
I didn't look deeply at the JB binaries from mediatek, but I don't think that they like miraculously decided to switch and be directly compatible with the AOSP sources, so here there's a lot of work to do on the sources themselves.
This is why we're trying to work on CM9 since some partial sources have been leaked about an actual device running ICS. Thoses sources are much more modified then the one that goes with the binaries we have, but can be start point.

[Q] difrrence between android 4.4.2 rom and cyanogenmod 4.4.2?

HI whats the diffrence between cyanogen mod android 4.4.2 and the android 4.4.2 rom? i am new btw to the root side.
Is it the same of diffrent?
Android 4.4.2 is the version released from AOSP, a Google supported open source group. Other organizations start with the source code from AOSP and deliver their own way. Cyanogenmod is just one of those organizations. Search XDA and learn about the differences.

And usually CyanogenMod has more stability, tweaks and best performance. It's also more customizable and I think it's better than stock ROM.

Cyanogenmod is also android, there are lots of things that you have to learn
First Android is a open source and is owned by Google and the sources are released in source.android.com
It is called AOSP and all oems use this AOSP source to build roms and provide for their devices and they also add their own interface for example : Samsung - touch wiz, Sony - xperia ui, HTC - senseui
Cyanogenmod is a company (recently incorporated) which heavily mods the AOSP source and release it as cm source. difference between AOSP and cm is more stable than AOSP and is more customisable Google a bit to know about features of cm
There are official cm which are built by cm itself also unofficial cm which are built by developers from the open source of cm
When you ask about speed cm is more stable and has no lags, so it is good than AOSP
Sent from my GT-I9070 using Tapatalk
CM11 (android 4.4.2) is custom-made rom unauthorized individuals or organizations, but still a nice feature and easily modified than the stock rom. however there may be some bugs. (I use the CM11 Android 4.4.2). stock rom is the official rom. more features but not easy to modify.
