I'm actually waiting for the bear motion sand textured cases. I hope they make them for the new phone. I was hoping to snag one before my phone gets here.

yea i dont mind either the smooth or sand. these are just the only tolerable cases because they are slim and don't make the phones even bigger

I have a hard time not buying a case from rearth. I freaking love their cases, just ordered mine from there.

I messaged bear motion on Facebook and they said they will be producing cases for the new moto X but they have no ETA at the moment.

Does rearth have one that is like the slim bear motion

I ordered this case and, while I don't normally use cases, I'm very happy with it. I won't have the phone to go with it for a while, but my old Droid DNA fits in it and I can tell that I wouldn't have a problem using the new X with a case on 24/7...really nice feeling, I think it's the curves.

I also ordered this one too, just in case (for $8 or whatever it's no biggie)..

I ordered the case from your first link too. For only 10 bucks I figured it would hold me over until the bear motion snap on cases come out. My case will be here tomorrow but who knows when the phone will arrive.

I like the motomaker bumper case, protects the edges but shows the design of your phone. Hopefully some aftermarket companies will start making bumper cases for a better price.

Given the shape of the Moto X, will a bumper case sufficiently protect the back of the phone, specifically the center? I like the idea of that bumper case, I'm just worried that since the phone tapers around the edges that the fat part of the phone in the middle will be susceptible to scratches and since I'm planning on a wood back that's a no go.

it looks thick enough that it'll raise the phone just a tad bit. i usually lay my phone face down, to protect the display. i am hoping the bumper gives enough lift so the front speaker grills don't get scratched

not really. i had a bumper case for my n4, and that did not add much bulk to it. it actually felt good in the hand. i could be totally wrong with this phone though

The bear motion cases add very little bulk to the devices and seem to protect the edges very nicely (at least they did on the Gen 1). Hopefully they will offer a 2014 model.

The bumper is good. I have it on right now. Yes, it makes it a little thicker, but all cases do. So it'll be the same as having a full body case on

Ugh, again they cover the dimple. The original was probably the best case I've ever used, but how the hell do they decide to cover the dimple? I actually like the one on the 2nd gen more than the first.
edit: interestingly enough, the back of the phone isn't right in those pics on amazon. the flash isn't correct. here's hoping there's a chance they do have a cutout, even if i doubt it.

Yeah I'm not sure what phone that is in the photos. It's not even the 1st gen moto X because I have several of those cases and they look nothing like that. I don't mind that they cover the dimple, but to each his own.

So let me start by saying I am a big fan of Seidio cases.
First Impression:
Very nice packaging and the looks of the case are great.
Case:
The Neoprene part of the case is very thin. You will notice little added bulk but excellent coverage. However a big point of concern I have is the neoprene is slick. So if you purchased this to protect your new SR it will be great. If one of your complaints with the SR is the back was slick and lacked texture your in for the same experience. After sliding over the Neoprene you slide the outer ring/plastic frame. The outer ring fits nicely over the Neoprene.
Fit:
The Neoprene fits well however to note the rear speaker is covered slightly but all other openings fit well. The outer ring suffers from the same issue for the rear speaker. The case does not really add much bulk which is a plus.
Overall:
This is a very nice case considering the money. I have not noticed the slight covering of the rear speaker to have a adverse effect. I think this offers good protection overall. I think for most people the issue will be the slick aspect of the Neoprene. If I were to give it a rating I would give it a 8 out of 10.
End Result:
I ended up returning the case. The only real issue I had was the Neoprene is just simply too slick. My 2 cents are since the device is sizable I need a textured cover so as to avoid any slipping. I don't want to knock the case but for me its too slick.
Looks nice, but your link is bad. Got a good one?
Nevermind, just clicking on it brings you to the wrong address. You have to copy and paste it into the browser.
How did you order it if it's out of stock? Was it in stock prior? There's no button to purchase.
Fixed the link...
Looks very interesting. Can you post back here after you recieve it and let us know how you like it? I have the otterbox case that is sold in the at&t store and I hate the bulk it adds and it simply makes the phone ugly. Like Gr8Danes I can't place an order for this item since it is out of stock.
This case looks great and appears to be low-profile as well. Tried to order, but all the cases state "Out of Stock", and there's no way to select/add to cart. Hopefully these will be in stock soon. Anyone know of another vendor source?

Don't know how the OP ordered his but it seems these items are still in production and not ready to ship. I can't wait to get a review on one of these as it is exactly what I have been looking for. If it fits well and is as low profile as it looks I will be sold.
It's kinda sad that there aren't that many cases available for the Skyrocket yet. I gave up looking and bought the same thing. Same site. Got the silver for me and the white one for the wife.
These have been in production for a while now, they were originally for the international LTE HD handsets. I just hope they fit ours nicely. Got an email yesterday that my order had already shipped. I'm in NY, it'll be a while...
I reluctantly ordered one of these too. The phone is way too slippery nekkid, so I had to get a case before my new skyrocket goes skyrocketing out of my hand one of these days.
I'm really waiting for someone to create a Barely-There type case for the skyrocket. But until then I'll have some peace of mind with this Neo case.

Someone just posted that they're available on Amazon now, hurry up and order from there before they're all gone.
I may cancel my order from Cretouch for the Neo, and order the Ultra capsule series from Amazon since that case looks thinner than the Neo.

Looks smooth, but a bit more rubbery grip than that stock battery cover on the Skyrocket. But I won't know for sure until it arrives.

I watched a couple of unboxing videos for both the capsule and the neo on GS2 devices. Not sure I agree that the capsule is less bulky. Looks like the capsule has almost no lip around the front edge but than again that lip on the neo will protect the screen better in the case of a drop.
In the video's the overall thickness of the case looks about the same or maybe even a little in favor of the neo. So the real difference is that lip on the front. I like the looks of the neo better. So between the looks and the added drop protection I think I can deal with a small lip.
Be interesting to compare notes after we both receive our cases.

I'll definitely come back and comment on the case when it arrives.
So I ordered the gel type case from Amazon and the Neo from Cretouch's website. I just emailed Cretouch to see if they can cancel my order for the Neo. If they can't, then I'll have 2 cases to try out and comment on.
What does this really protect though?

Not sure who you post is aimed at. If your asking what these cases protect well it would mostly be scratch protection. But during a drop you would probably avoid any deep gashes like I have experienced from dropping my cappy on blacktop.
The neo seems to have a small lip in the front of the phone. This would stop the phone from landing on it's screed during a drop and inhibit the phone from sitting on it's screen when placed face down.

Slim Hard Shell

Hi. I'm searching for something like the C740 but for the One X. I know about the Rock Quicksand, but sadly, this isn't available in Austria.
Any ideas? thanks much

Nice, I like the Barely There Case very much, although the camera protection could be improved. Thanks kontra!
Btw. I don't get why HTC won't produce a case like the C740 for the One X? Those buyers are probably their best customers.

No problem. I have the Spigen case so I can't say much about the Case Mate one. The opening for the camera on the Spigen sticks out a bit more so it offers some protection to the lens.
There's a trade off between the two. The case mate fits better but you lose out on lens protection. There's a small gap on the top left and right when I have the Spigen on the phone and the cutout for the flash is misaligned but the case feels really good in your hands and the flash doesn't seem to be affected.
Another option is this which is similar to the case mate.
http://www.incipio.com/HTC-One-X-AT...ATandT-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
On a side note: Having to wait 2 minutes before I can edit my post is really lame...
Here's a thread on the case-mate. There are pictures too of my own HOX sporting a Barely-There (let me know if the pics are broken...I'm at work and I can't see them).

I've been using this for about a week now and am quite happy with it. I used Nillkin minimal cases on my last 2 phones and this one seems to offer A LITTLE bit more coverage. More than the Case-Mate as well. The edges don.t raise higher than the screen though so a screen protector is a must (one comes with it). Ill share pics if youd like.

Thanks stnguyen, looks like you got the case mate for a while now, are you happy so far?
Also, this might be a though question to answer, but do you folks by any chance know of a leader case that might fit the HOX while wearing one of these hardshells?
Think I'm gonna get the Incipio Feather since it gives the best edge protection and it also seems to be made of the same (kinda) material as the C740, which has a really nice feel to it.
Btw, some additional options I found (sorry, not allowed to post links):
* Krusell ColorCover (not enough edge protection)
* Twins Shield Mesh (not enough edge protection and I don't know about the material)
Imo the best slim hard case is the Amzer shellster. I have that and the barely there. They are almost exactly the same except the shellster covers the camera very nicely. Lemme know if you want pics

This is NOT what the actual case look slike. There is a little strip of plastic running at the top of the USB port cutout which prevents the USB cable from securely plugging into the port.
This is a real PITA and a shame, I am sending the case back to Incipio. I can't understand why the actual design does not match what they sent me, I just ordered a week ago. Perhaps they are selling off old stock, buyer beware!
None of my plugs have a problem snapping into place.
Does anybody know if the spigen case in white matches the white on the HOX? Reason I ask is because I have the white speck case, and it doesn't match at all so I never use it. It's just one of those things that bother me...

any good (non book cover) cases for the nexus 9

Hey there I am looking for nexus 9 case
That provides some drop protection

But it provides very minimal protection
and the SUPCASE
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ONRSSF0/
Which proved extreme protection, but adding too much thickness to the device
so is there any suggestions for the any case you know about
I have the supcase and purchased it on its release. While it does add a bit of builk the device fits securely inside the front of the case and then the thicker rear snaps around the front. It is similar to the otterbox i guess however it does not have the rear shell. the rear of this case kind of is a hibrid of the plastic shell and a hard gel rear sort of thing

do you feel that the case makes the device
To become very bulky or is it Just little bit because in pictures it looks huge
ill be honest in that it makes the device bigger. It gives it a little bit of weight also.
in that though, i am used to it now and it provides excellent protection. i would recommend it to anyone who used an otterbox type case on their other devices. It was also half the price.
I was initially waiting for the poetic case however with shipping from america it was going to cost approximately 70-80AUS $. I got this case for about half that price, so very stoked.
I've found the Kayscase to be pretty decent. I have it in the frosted clear. I've never owned any of the Cruzerlite cases for devices, but I imagine the Kayscase would be similar. Also, I am not sure how well it would actually fair if dropped. However, it is reasonably light, doesn't add a ton of thickness or bulk to the case, seems to be easier to grip, and provides just a slight lip over the bezel and screen.
ETA: It occurred to me that the image shown below is probably a Nexus 7. The Nexus 9 version looks pretty much exactly the same, except it doesn't have the rear speaker cutouts. The shape of the rear camera cutout is also different to accommodate the flash on the 9.
You can find it here:

I have both the bugdroid and the supcase. I really an confident with the Supcase enough that I take it with me on the farm, something I haven't done with a tablet since back in my Xooms with the Defender case. Man, that thing was a monster to carry.
Honestly as long as supcase makes cases for whatever device I own I'll never buy another OtterBox. They're not quite as bulky and I honestly think they're better made. I have one on my nexus 6 as well.

OP, I know this is not what you asked for, but your title made me think of taking a hardcover book, and "Andy-Dufresne-ing" the inside of it to make it the dimensions of the Nexus 9, and then stabilizing it in there somehow. you would have to glue the edges of the paper together on the outside, but this could be a terrific idea... if done correctly.
For those who don't know what Andy-Dufresne-ing a book is, go home and watch The Shawshank Redemption.
I fully expect my "thanks meter" to shoot up through the roof right about now....

You are absolutely right. I mis-read, and I apologize. (And if i came off like i was yelling, i apologize for that also. Definitely wasn't my intention.)
I got a moko grey case. It's awesome! Super slim and all plastic so no worries of ripping or taring the fake leather.

I looked at that one as well but went with the Poetic hardshell case from Amazon (Can't post links yet ), it does add some bulk, but sure is secure. Still the purple one looks interesting.
Still scratching my head over the round cutout on the bottom front of the case. Was the Nexus 9 supposed to have a fingerprint sensor there?

To case or not to case?

I've ordered 3 cases, received 2 so far. Both are just ok. Nothing looks as good as the naked phone. What caseems (if any) is everyone using? Those who don't use a case, do you worrun about scratching the camera or screen when laying it down? Thanks.
I keep my phone in a sunglass bag and in general it's always worked well. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the S6 because one drop can crack the entire back. Plastic may not be "premium" but it is a lot harder to break. That being said I'm not even sure a case would prevent a crack just from shock rather than a direct hit. It'll be interesting to see how many phones get messed up in the next couple of weeks.

A lot of reviews seem to indicate that the S6 is rather slippery. That alone would warrant a case for a lot of people, I'm sure. It prompted me to order one.
A case probably won't save the phone from a high drop, unless getting something pretty bulky. I'd rather get something slimmer to protect the edges and back from scratches and chips and just be diligent about not dropping it. The case I got is the gunmetal version of the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. Though I think they sent me the slate one by mistake because the color is nothing like the pics on Amazon...
As painful as it will be, I'd suggest using a case. I went with a case from LUVVITT that has a transparent scratch resistant back. So while I can't see the metal sides of my phone, I can at least see the back of the phone, plus at least I know it's safe
I'm going to put a case on first months because I need to get used to shape and form I'm always clumsy first months now I use my s5 without any protection since September nothing happen but on first months the more I take care the more I hit the phone on surfaces.
i've always used the flygrip on my devices but also always used it on a case , i never ever ever have droped my phone once my fingers are locked into the flygrip. i will however be putting a case on this device.

i just ordered this same case, but in clear. hopefully i can stand having it on my phone. i should have put the phone in a case the moment i got it, so i that i would not have enjoyed it for a few days without one and i wouldn't want to continue to carry it without one. haha.

will the otter box cases be ok with the wireless charging pad ?
It's on the way I should receive it day 10 then I post pictures myself I always buy 2 or 3 cases in the first months after that I use it without a case
Already Ordered front and back Tempered glass with metal bumper case. and didn't receive anything yet.
That combo worked fine with my Z2

Agreed. I have the regular S6 and with the glass on the front and back, it can slip right out of a loose pocket. EASILY. I bought the Spigen NeoHybrid case and I have zero complaints on it.

The official Otterbox site says "no" (at least for the Commuter cases), but lots of anecdotal evidence gives a qualified "yes." I suspect Otterbox's flat refusal is so nobody will ask for their money back if the wireless charging doesn't work.
The longest I've ever used a case was maybe two days. I hate cases because they make the phone feel bulky and I prefer to feel the actually phone.
But a couple weeks I dropped my Z3 on tile, cracked the front glass and part of the screen doesn't respond to touch. So, the S6 case is on the way. I'll save money in the long run from having to replace screens.

Tudia GLOST Ceramic Feel Tempered Glass Back Panel Case - thoughts?

I am really interested in this new Tudia GLOST ceramic feel tempered glass back case for my Essential phone:
Tudia Glost Case for Essential Phone PH-1
I know the thing isn't available (at least according to Amazon) until December 8th... but I just thought I'd see what everyone else thinks about it. Looks pretty cool, just don't know how much bulk or weight this might add to the phone. Plus I've never had any Tudia cases, so not familiar with them and how well they feel/fit.
Anyone else considering this case? Thoughts?

Got one on order, but can't tell you much about the company or cases but looks pretty sweet
Have the black case and is very nice.
I have the marble one on order I'll post pictures when they release it.
Can someone check to see if the tempered glass part is easily replaceable or if it can be taken off? Was looking at this thinking I could turn it into a bumper case.

I had the exact same thought and this is my chief interest in getting one. If I had to guess it would be that the rear plate is molded into the rubber and not easily removable but hopefully I'm wrong.

So how much weight and 'bulk' does the black case add to the phone? Would you think it adds so much that it wouldn't fit anymore into a somewhat snug belt-loop holster?

Yeah, I would guess the same thing - looks (from the picture) like it's molded right around the glass and it wouldn't be easy to remove.... I just wonder how 'breakable' that glass really is?

Can we get a real life pic of the GLOST case? I am considering the Ocean Green but may settle on Black since I am not sure what the green would look like in person. Do the sides provide any grip? I see there is some pinstriping of some sort, is that just for looks?

The case is nice and snug does not add any bulk to the phone worth noting. Also the weight in minimal. I am positive that you will like the case.

I don't think we'll get a 'real life' picture of it now, since it isn't supposed to even be released until Dec 8; it is available for pre-order though; hence why I was asking...
This is what shows up for it on Amazon, though:

Well I went ahead and ordered the GLOST case from Amazon, not supposed to be available till the 8th AT THE LEAST. Figured if I don't like it I can return it for a different one.
I'll report back on it once I receive it!

Is the Glost case slimmer than the Tudia Tamm case? I have that one already. It's fine, but I'd prefer something slimmer.

what is the promo code?
Drop and scratch test
Tudia posted two videos of this case to their facebook page. I'd link to it but I am not allowed to post links yet.
Drop test was from ~5ft, no damage to phone
Scratch Test was using a razor blade on the back of the case, no damage.
Looks like a pretty decent case, now I just need to find a source in Canada.
