[Discussion] What smart accesorry will you get next? E.g. Watch, glasses, etc - Wear OS General

Since there is NO single thread in General forums solely dedicated this question to what Android Wear device you would buy and why, I took the liberty to post this thread, as most other "consolidated" threads are talking about phones in the main.
Try doing a Android wear search and you will not find a proper thread discussing what Android wear will you buy? Hence this thread
We have so many Android wear devices out there to accessorise our smartphones, that now they are gaining ludicrous amount of attention in the world.
Although the android wear market share is a paltry estimated value of US$1 billion compared to the smartphone market which is in the hundreds of billions. It still deserves attention for its massive growth in recent years.
Not ranked in any order, the more popular companies producing Android wear (including other smart watches) are as follows:-
1. Sony
2. Motorola
3. Pebble
4. Samsung
5. Meta
6. Martian
7. Garmin
8. Google
9. Apple Watch
Of course there are more but basically these are the few I have read about with above average reviews.
Choose yours!!!

I already own 4. The Metawatch (Frame), a Pebble, a 1st gen Gear and the G Watch. I was waiting for the 360, but got a great deal on the G on Swappa and couldn't pass it up and I'm glad I didn't. For all the hype and circlejerking beforehand about how killer it (the 360) was going to be, the reality seems to be a huge letdown, especially in terms of battery life.
I use my Metawatch the least and probably the Pebble the most, though I am very happy for now with the G... It may become my new favorite. If the price is right, I MIGHT get the LG R around Christmas time.

Despite the first impression rants:
It's uglyyy!!!
Rubber everywhere!!!
Another generic square android wear device!!!
Childish!!!!
_______
It you take a look about the potential and features, the most interesting smartwatch with android wear is by far, the Sony Smartwatch 3.
The first with IP68 (you can swim with it).
The first with GPS and music features independent of the phone.
The first with transflective screen for much better visibility with sunlight.
It's the first android (wear platform) smartwatch you can take anywhere without your phone for sporting activities. The design is sportive, not childish. You can sweat with it comfortably.
And the potential is because the extra features (bluetooth music and GPS tracking) will be done with sony apps at the beginning, but Google said these features will by supported natively in future versions of Android Wear.
So, be careful now, because I'm pretty sure, all the android wear watches next year will have these features and every watch in first generation will be quicky obsolete.
So my first watch in my radar is the Sony. And you may understand it in my perspective. I like sport and I have the MOTOACTV. Great concept and features, but so ugly and so terrible battery life that I only wear it when I run.
So the Sony is the first I consider to be the NEXT.

I do not own any android wear devices (as in Android Wear Platform) as yet.
The only other accessory I have is a Pebble (which is not android wear platform )
I am however very interested in getting either an Android Wear watch or the google glass (if it becomes better)
I think the recent designs have improved by a huge margin, no matter how rectangular or squarish they look.
As for the Moto 360, it looks very good, in fact if it has a Chronograph like Bezel on it, it will definitely be a sealed deal for me. As for the dismal battery life many have reported, I am not too worried, I will switch to my Pebble
LG G round looks as good as well.
Except for a very small handful of Smart Watches out there, the rest looks like their hastily put together while trying to cram everything into a small device.
Just waiting to see Samsungs Rounded version and what others will come up as well.
I do not know if they do actually liaise with any big watch manufacturers, but they can do well to learn from designs from Panerai, U Boat, or those excellent looking top labelled brands. Since most of the watches they produced are BIG, goes to say you can stuff more goodies under the hood.
Of course thats my preference.
Cheerios

I've got my eye on the ASUS ZenWatch, or I will when it comes out. The pictures I've seen make it look like an attractive device and the reviews have been positive.

I'm actually waiting for an android wear with wireless charge and square display.
No preferences for now

I've got a galaxy s5, and a pebble. Id love to try the galaxy gear

more reading up made me realise one thing
the Moto 360 is compatible with ALL QI standard wireless charging devices, WOOTZ I got a portable QI charger .. mahahaha .. maybe worth considering getting the Moto 360 then

I use my Gear Live a lot, get new feeds from Appy Geek 15 or 20 times, dozens of emails, messages, weather alerts.
For the most part 6am to 10pm is ok but I like to get a watch that can under heavy use get me from 6am to say 4am the next day.
The only watch that promises battery life is the Sony watch.
If it really has much better battery life I may buy it, but I will see.
Childish? Only people that look at watch a say Childish are childish. These watches are not cheap knock offs that we use to get for $5, yes I am not 100% happy with the way the Sony Watch looks but since I use it working out it look very functional.
I care more about battery life than looks, I think Motorola the soon to be Chinese company just does not get it.

China does have some ridiculously weird and funky smart watches, some I daresay are nice, but not sure what platforms they are using.
As for battery life, I am not sure about the rest of the community, but I carry around a 8400 mAh battery pack made in China with QI standard which is still working flawlessly since last year. I hardly use the QI as the USB ports charges much faster (there is a 1amp and a 2amp port), got the QI just as a "show off" gimmick the initial few days when I showed family and friends, otherwise it is not practical to use on the move.
So for me battery life in current Smart watches is not too much of a concern, as I carry the pack around, of course my wrist does feel a little naked the few occasions my pebble is sent for charging in my bag, its nothing I can't live without

By features, i dare say the Sony SW3 will be more future proof. But if we just wait a bit, perhaps all SWs will sport the GPS and bluetooth music by Q2 2015.

Thickness and Battery Life

Here's an interesting thought I came up with when I started reading about the Razr MAXX, and now the HTC OneS (Ville)
Why not go further? It seems like it's only reasonable that if we accept non-removable batteries (not easily, at least), then we should be getting even more battery life than the Razr MAXX. The Razr could easily have a battery that made the back perfectly flat or just barely lower than the camera bump, and have the best battery life of any phone on the market. 4000 mAh might be overkill, but maybe that's what we need.
I feel like the Ville/OneS has the same question. What's the point of making a phone so thin? No one complains about thinness to a certain extent, but people complain about battery life all the time.
I agree with you, but IMO the fact that so many vendors shove stupid skins and launchers on their devices is just evidence that most of these companies aren't explicitly interested in what the end-user wants. They're just interested in what's going to be a big deal on ads.
4G LTE!
WORLD'S THINNEST SMARTPHONE!
DUAL CORE PROCESSOR
Sure, these things are indirectly driven by the market. But unless people stop buying the thinnest and fastest smartphones and aim for the devices with the best battery life, manufacturers will probably continue to make batteries that are just "good enough".
That may not hold true forever, though. Samsung recently announced that they're going to put an emphasis on getting all-day use out of their devices, perhaps following in the footsteps of the RAZR MAXX. In my opinion, the MAXX's attention to battery capacity should be a necessity to all phone manufacturers.
Personally, I feel like the majority of the device needs to be devoted to battery. At least, unless battery technology improves drastically. Our computing power has becoming ridiculously power-efficient over the years, but we don't start more efficient versions of our same processors in these devices--we just use this efficiency to justify putting more powerful hardware in, which results in more bang for (basically) the same battery life.
It makes sense that the RAZR would be as thin as it is and have a battery the size it does.
However, I do have an extended battery on my G2. I don't have a problem with the size.

I agree. I also think it is interesting that people want a phone so thin but it has a 4.5+ inch screen. They are getting so close to making phones slightly smaller tablets.
On a side note, Apple might be working on the solution to this problem. There are rumors about a hydrogen-powered iPhone in the near future. I don't have much information about the subject, but just hearing this story is very amazing to me.
Happy charging! xP
Well, I'm one of those who want long battery life as well as wide screen. But non-removable batteries would be inconvenient if your battery runs out, right?
And you are right about the cell phone turning into mini computer thing. Normally tablets have at least 7-inch screen and cell phones not bigger than 5-inch. I wonder who would step forward and produce a tablet-phone thing with screen size inbetween. That would be fun.
Well the Samsung Galaxy Note has a 5.3" screen...
...the Dell Streak (tablet) has a 5" screen.
I think the smartphone/tablet screen thresholds have been breached.
Battery life is highly import the island don't want my battery to die when I'm in the middle of a movie or whenever I really need it. My phone battery sucks compared to higher end phones.
Like my phone i get two hours of using it (Like 2 hours of screen on on medium brightness) and this is the "Flagship" android phone, really samsung you could of gives us Nexus users a larger battery so that i could go through a day. And "Largest battery" could be a major marketing ploy.
I wouldn't mind buying a 2 CM thick smartphone, as long as it has a good battery (10,000 mAh? )
Besides being easier to fit into pockets, there really is no point of thin smart phones imo. Thicker ones are more comfortable to use, since your thumb rests nicely on the screen - so you don't have to bend it just to tap something.
Also, does anyone actually care about thinness? I see heaps of people every day with thin phones such as SGSII with protective cases (Such as Otterbox), which at least double the thickness of the device...

Not the world's thinnest smartphone.
It would also be nice if manufacturers sold extra batteries. Ebay ones seem to lose their maximum capacity quickly (Most ones I've used have significantly less fullcharge after a few months).
Totally agree bro, I think ur right!
I totally agree, I hate how the razr is sunken down like that. 1 of the reasons I wouldn't get it is because of that. I don't even see a point of having it so thin, feels like you can snap it. At least that's my opinion.
If the Galaxy S3 is like that I'll be so sad and I'll be looking for a way to get around it. I love when it's evenly, or almost flat at the bottom. No bumps or whatever to cause snagage when I put it in my pocket.
I like thin phones because it means a proper case isn't too bulky. If my TMO sgs2 was thicker, the case would be awkward. The thinner the device, the better it is with the right protection.
The same can hold true for extended batteries. On something like the Droid Razr, it'd be cool to see an extended battery and back cover that makes it flush with the thickest part.
I agree 100%.
I would sacrifice a little more thickness for a 3800 - 4000 mah battery that could run like the old flip razors did! 1 week with no charge!!
(I know thats probably not possible, but just saying.)
I'd also prefer an improved battery life
I'd also prefer an improved battery life i think so
may sound silly, but no removable batteries cant be replaced for longer battery life, I know many people that carry spare batteries that they use everyday. They'd get longer battery life than if they had a bigger, non removable battery
I need battery for smart phone high capacity

YUP! I remember those times. 5-7 days of use then an overnight charge, and repeat. But no mobile banking, social apps, bad ass games, video calling, navigation, all that wasn't going on day to day at those times. BUT YES, EXTENDED BATTERY PACKS WITH FITTED BATTERY LIDS, YES ID BE NICE, AND IT'D MAKE SOME COMPANIES A FEW XTRA BUCKS. So why arnt they out there?
Now I'm soo broke I cant even pay attention!
all these new phones are great but battery life is so bad
even 3 days is bad, bring back the 1 a week charge phones
i miss my D500
I agree. I have a SGS2 which is really thin, but with the 1650 mah battery that it has, it can barely last a single day with one charge.

Motorola has already announced their Android smartwatch, the Moto 360, which the company says will launch this summer.
A site to sign up for the developer preview of the platform is now live. The preview promises to allow devs to run Android Wear in an emulator and connect it to a device to see how Google-based “cards” like those in Google Now will look on the platform.
The UI overview on the developer site, cards take up the entire screen real estate on a watch, and vertical swipes move between cards, while side-to-side swipes bring up more information. Tap-able buttons may also appear on the cards to take further action on a notification.
Saying “OK, Google” or clicking on a “g” on the screen opens a menu screen called a “cue card” with a list actions like “take a note,” “send a message,” “set an alarm,” or “call a cab.”
Mountain View does say that Google gear for your wrist is in the works :
"We’re also already working with several consumer electronics manufacturers, including Asus, HTC , LG, Motorola and Samsung; chip makers Broadcom BRCM , Imagination, Intel, Mediatek and Qualcomm; and fashion brands like the Fossil Group to bring you watches powered by Android Wear later this year."
Here's the Android launcher for trying it on your device : Download Link
Instructions :
Install as normal APK
Launch the app while having pending notifications to see it's real use

It looks real beautifull, Can't wait for it to be released!

$250 to $350 to start. Same as Qualcomm TOQ.
But there WILL be upscale models, for the "10%", as well as the "1%" who love to spend the money they got from we "99%".
There will be MotoX like customizations for bands. The "10%" might upgrade to cases with precious metal content. And the "1%" will add diamonds and other stones for sure, with light sources below for extra twinkle. And the celebs will sell ad space on their wearables, LOL. The 99% will trade free Google services for the low brow ads, ROFL. And ad based watches will eventually be "free".
somewhere there was a list with the price of each component in a mobile phone.
cant find it but lets see this list of components inside a nexus 5
take out everything thats not inside these watches...
aw well.. look at the current smart watches on ebay...
i guess around 50-200€
really excited !!!!!!!!!
you know what I would buy the moto 360 , the day it launches
it will be so cool to have that tech at your disposal, ......
but guys any rough guesses , about the price. ?????

So how will this hookup with the phone? My fear is that this will drain the battery on both the watch as well as the phone.
The connection will be over Bluetooth 4.0, Low energy Mode, I guess. It won't drain your battery on both ends, watch and phone.

In my opinion, Motorola 360 is going to be the best choice in cuality/price/desing wereable.
Does anyone want to guess how much the moto 360 will cost. Some of the estimates I saw said at least $300 and likely even $400..

i think the price between $300 and $500 is ok for this cool gadget

SW3

Don't like the Idea of a non-switchable watch-strap. If this is going to be the real thing, then my next Smartwatch will be an Android-wear watch with changeable watchstrap.
If it's not removable it's probably because the band has smart components in it. Maybe a HR monitor. The forced rubber band might point to it being a mix of smartwatch and smartband. I'm hype.
Somehow reminds me of the LG g watch. Looks bland but maybe better in real life. The SmartWatch 2 still has very nice styling in my opinion.
http://9to5google.com/2014/08/30/an...h-curved-e-ink-display-launching-at-ifa-2014/
Dear god please don't make SW3 Android Wear. I think they are releasing two versions. The previous black leaked pic had the same looking watch, but clearly had the standard SW2 watchface, which suggests it's running Sony's custom os. Also IDK why all these stupid companies keep proclaiming that SW2 runs a skinned version of android. All it takes is a peak at wikipedia if you are not sure.
Oh good, apparently that white picture is just a render that someone made, not another leak, that that Android Wear screen is just someone guessing.
I really doubt this watch will run android wear. There is a reason no one is using a screen like the sunlight readable SW2 screen in Android Wear. There is probably a technical reason. Sony would probably have to get a more standard android phone screen like Oled, and I really don't see them downgrading like that, not to mention the 3x shorter battery life.
Some months ago Sony told they won't use Wear for SW3. I'm sure they won't. On the other side, Sony should really work for getting more developers focused on Sony OS because to give Sony SW3 a good base for existence besides Android Wear and Tizen. Actually I'm feeling bored of my SW2 because there are missing so much good extensions which are already done for Android Wear.

Basically IMO what we really need is SDK access for apps to be able to run directly from the watch. That's the biggest problem with the SW2. All apps that what to do more than send you notifications need to run on the android phone and only send images to the watch, and this is whats responsible for the watch being very laggy with 3rd party apps.
To be honest I am shocked of how the SW3 will look. So SW2 is one of the most beautiful square smart watch, and they "upgrade" it with a Samsung Gear look, a plastic body and non removable strap...

EDIT: Watchstrap is removable, but can only be replaced with proprietary ones from Sony. No Universal Standard here.
Remember the time, Sony said they won't jump on the Android Wear - Train? They would have put too much effort in making their proprietary System perfect, they said...
And what's that sh*t with the non-removable strap? My next Smart Watch: Definitely not this one.
How very sad they have jumped to Android Wear. I love the Smartwatch 2 and the way it works but this new watch is definately not for me.

If I'm going to upgrade the SW2 with an Android Wear one, then it most likely will be replaced by a Moto 360
very boring looking watch and no replaceable bands, nope, don't want it
either the G Watch R or the Moto 360, waiting for reviews first though
What a disappointment, a generic Android Wear device.
I wonder if details will ever leak of the true successor to the SmartWatch 2 that Sony had in the works.
Or even if they'll release any of the new developed software for us SW2 owners. Although I very much doubt that.....
SW2, end of the line. Yet another dead OS!
I was also disappointed to see what the SmartWatch 3 looked like. No heart rate sensor either. No key differentiating factors. Sorry Sony but this time my money's going towards the Motorola 360 or LG G watch R.
It's ugly, I might buy a couple more SW2's just to have spares.
If this generic watch ran the SW2 OS the battery would last for like 2 weeks
Now that Smartband they also announced seems interesting. I wonder what OS it runs. http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/smartwear/smartband-talk-swr30/
that's OK, if I will need to start over I will opt for the Moto 360 or LG instead of SW3.

I want to highlight that point before starting the review because I’m really tired of talking to people that have bought the last clone of Samsung and later on complaint it’s not working well...it’s having a lot of FC, it’s not restarting after updating. It seems that those companies have done the biggest investment on copying the exterior rather than presenting a well-working phone.
We find each time more chinese manufacturers presenting new products based on a good quality-price ratio.
Needless to say that if the last Samsung Galaxy costs around 600€ and you buy a smartphone for less than 100€, even if it looks great, the difference on the price will not be only because of the brand and the marketing campaings.
Lets start the review
The P3000S is an evolution of the previous model P3000, the improvements are in the hardware part, moving from 4 to 8 cores, 8 to 16GB of storage and 1 to 2GB of RAM. The rest is mostly the same.
The packaging looks well, it’s not as great as in iPhone or Samsung last models, but is elegant and simple. Once opened, we see the terminal carefully wrapped and next to it, the charger and a plastic protector for the screen, nice detail!
First pros and cons. I like having that screen protector included but, where are the headphones??
Honestly, nowadays it’s essential to have headphones, specially devices that are so multimedia capable. And this one is perfect for multimedia with that big screen and powerful hardware.
The phone looks very good, made in plastic but very good, nice touch and with quality. I’m surprised of finding the 4g logo on the corner, I guess it’s to highlight that capability, since there are not many phones on that range of price that can use 4G networks.
Moving the phone, we see the power and lock button on the right side, on the left the volume control, on the top the microUSB for charging and the Jack 3,5 for the headphones. On the bottom, just the small hole of the microphone. The 5” screen is a HD JDI IPS with Gorilla Glass 3rd gen, we can also see the front camera (8MP), the speaker and the navigation touch buttons.
If we turn the device, on the rear part we find first the 13MP camera (with OV Camera lenses), the LED flash and just below them, the fingerprint reader, one of the strengths of this smartphone.
Centered we will see the Elephone logo (I find it quite cool, something like Transformers!) and the handsfree speaker on the bottom.
Turning it on.
It boots really fast and we don’t have to make the 1st config like in other Android models, so we can just start and use it, leaving for later the account configuration.
After setting up the WiFi, I receive the notification for a new update, great! We like updated products!
It’s really fluid, moving screens, opening apps,... We don’t see any lags or delays. The quality of the screen is awesome! It’s not the iPhone 6 , but is far better than other chinese phones.
Lets go for the fingerprint reader. Enable the service and...
We have to pass 10 times our finger (the same finger) to complete the process, the secret is not to pass it very fast. I was able to complete the registration on the first try for the 10.
Now lock the phone, press unlock, pass the finger and works perfectly! Again, don’t pass it very fast, keep in mind that this is a real fingerprint reader/scanner and not the TouchID that we see on the iPhone5S and succesive models, that just checks some points.
Point to improve, the sound. It’s very low, watching a video we realise the image is great and the sound... Must be higher.
What about the camera? Promising 13MP is not giving them...
We can see an improvement compared to other lowcost phones, but it’s not yet a great camera. When taking outdoor pictures with a good light, the pictures will look good, sharp and clear. But when using the flash or with poor indoor ilumination... Pixelated images.
The voice control for the camera also works well.
All the applications I have tried work very well. When we ask for more computing power like watching movies or playing games... Is when the P3000S shows all his heart. The Mali450 GPU works perfectly in combination with the octo-core CPU and the 2GB of RAM. If you like playing, you’ll like this device.
Other functions like NFC or gesture recognition (with locked screen) also do what promised. In fact they’re very useful, for example to open the camera or the music player without unlocking (if you have fingerprint or other security you will have to pass it). They should change that, to be able to take pictures without accessing the gallery.
Surfing the web is really fast, either data or wifi webs load very very fast and all the navigation, changing tabs, etc is fluid.
Special mention for the battery!! It looks infinite. You’ll see the percentage going down, but having an iPhone5 with the battery of 1440mAh and charging it at least once everyday... those 3150mAh on the Elephone and more than 2 days with normal use are a delight.
To conclude, the SView cover is very useful, it fits perfectly the phone, shows that cool Elephone logo on the rear part and allows us to continue using the fingerprint scanner. Also leaving the quote “Keep expecting and be surprised” for our thoughts about the brand... Nice detail.
With the circle window on the front part, we can see an analog clock (can be digital) that shows automatically when we close the cover. Touching that window we can change between the watch and the musice player, without having to unlock the phone.
ATTENTION: just until next 12th of January, you can get a discount of $14 in GeekBuying using the coupon MXOMAATR if you also want the SView cover, don’t miss the extra coupon XSGBXTGB. I don't get any commission, just got the coupon when acquired my phone, you can benefit.
Summary: if you’ve read until here, you have surely understood that I like this phone, it has gratefully surprised me. In the last year I have tried several chinese smartphones and after using them you see why the price is so lower than first brand products.
When a brand bets for showing something new, the products have much more quality than the brands trying to copy/clone top seller products.
I have tried clones of Galaxy S4 and S5. From outside they could confuse us, but when using them... Slow answer, random changes, FCs...
This Elephone P3000S has some very good things and some things to improve. But we cannot overlook that we will have a mid-high range smartphone for less than 200$, it wouldn’t be fair to compare with the last 800$ from top brands
Great review of the elephone P3000S!
I was checking this mobile as well and there are some points which you didn't mention and I guess there are important:
- First update for the phone, by default the mobile is rooted and everything works fine. However, the company released a new version of this ROM with some improvements, but you loose the root privileges. Just use the OTA updates in the phone. Later it is really simple to root again the phone, you can use iroot or root_genius, both of them work fine!
- GPS position, the localization is fine but the pointer position is all time looking for the right direction, even if its giving you the good address. To improve a little this issue, you can use fastergps (you need to be root) to download the closest gps coordinates for your country.
- App permission management tool, its amazing how to can discriminate some features or access in the applications.
- Dual SIM feature, the 4G works fine in both SIM slots. The mobile allows you differentiate between the SIM and give permission to them.
As I mentioned before, here you have a couple of pictures of the phone settings and features:
I got this phone in May well the P3000s-64Bit version. The difference's in the one I have is it has a 1080P screen, 3 Gigs of Ram and the Mali-T760 GPU. Also capable of 64bit HOWEVER, the have not release a 64 but android version. Stuck with 4.4.4
It is fast reliable and everything I throw at it just works. Its a speed demon. aNTUTU I scored 38139 and on the 3DMARK Ice Strom Extreme Benchmark I got 6548. The only con is the sound it is quiet. I use a bluetooth speaker for my audio output.
All in all for the price it cant be beat.

Thinking of getting a Huawei

Does anyone have a Huawei? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013LKLS2E/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_M6zfwbGFJG3STI'm loving the look of it, but don't know much about how it compares to other aw.
I'm new to the whole idea so any insights or suggestions are appreciated. My fitbit is giving signs of dying and rather than drop money into another one, I started looking for something to work with my s6 edge+ that will do more than just count steps.

Since this section is so quiet I would suggest giving it a shot and purchase it from somewhere with a return policy and see if you like it and will fit your needs. I personally have the LG Urbane and love it... but this looks like a nice watch.

I love the style of this Huawei smart watch.
I haven't got any of this but one of my friend already did. As far his confirmation, he is not so satisfied with its performance. He thinks that this Huawei smart watch is not so innovative.
I like the style of the Huawatch, but it's quite thick, and personally I don't see the extra cost to be worth the style advantage over the LG Urbane. Technically it seems to be pretty much the same.
For me the missing component is ambient light sensor.. So the Moto 360/2015 i's my favourite device, but it's a shame they can't figure out how to fit an ambient light sensor into a device without having to cut out a section of the display.
I don't have a Wear yet, I keep bidding for Urbanes on eBay but get outbid. I'm just a cheapskate I guess
I have the Huawei wach and, I have to say, I love it. The screen is great and the battery life lasts all day with no problem.
The only issue I have had is that the notification vibration is a little weak. I installed the Feel the Wear app and that had helped.

Feel the Wear says to, "Turn off the vibrate in the individual apps on your phone." I like them to vibrate on my phone too, so I use Light Flow to set custom vibrations. My Nexus 6 is rooted, which I think you have to be for Light Flow to do that.
It looks really good, but for that price! well I'd wait for the new gear from samsung.
This is my first smartwatch and couldn t be happier. Never had so many people noticing it and commenting on how nice it is. Don't think you'll be dissapointed if you do get one.

I can help!
I have the Moto 360 2nd gen 46mm and my Huawei gets here later today so when it does I'll post my initial thoughts and then after using it for a couple days I'll let you know if its worth it.
Update
Ok guys I received my Huawei Watch at 4:00pm today and it is now 10:22pm. So far I am in love with this device. However I will give you my negatives first then the positives, then a comparison with the Moto 360 2nd Gen. 1st negative the vibration on the Hauwei is so bad that you actually hear it rather then feel it. 2nd negative is that if you go for the metal link band you will more then likely need to take it to be resized for you which can cost up to 25 bucks. 3rd Negative depending on how big you are this watch may seem thick on your wrist however to me it feels perfect. Now on to the positives, 1st Positive The screen is nothing short of breathtaking compared to the Ips on the 360 where as when the 360 dims for always on it is pixelated the Huawei on the other hand remains crisp and stunning no matter what watch face you are using. 2nd Positive this watch looks like a real watch I got compliments even at the jewler who at first thought it was a Movado which range in the thousands of dollars. 3rd positive the box and unboxing is as luxurious as the price demands it to be and you truly feel like your money was well spent. These are my thoughts on the Huawei Watch and I'm my opinion if what I say sounds good to you then go for it. This watch is worth every penny even the $450 black with black metal band version I have.
Could you comment on the vibration on the Moto 360 in comparison to the Huawei? If the Huawei is as bad as people are saying then, for me, it defeats the whole purpose of having a smartwatch to notify you about notifications, if you can't even feel the vibration in some cases.
The Moto 360 has very nice vibration that you can feel so of that's what you want go for the new 360 I could feel it even while I was at the club with all the bass around me
Besides the vibration and missing light sensor (in combination with the brightness setting begin pretty deep in the Android wear menu), which I think is annoying;
- ambient is still pretty bright in dark room (again, no sensor). Can be annoying when watching TV, this made me having the watch with screen off and only manual screen on.
- can only measure heart rate when resting, while running is no option - it doesn't work and isn't accurate
- the pixels wont completely turn off when black, there is a red tint (my watch its unnoticeable (only while testing the extreme it is) but there is a topic here on xda with other examples.)
- the charger isn't as good as others, you must align the pins perfectly and pay attention if its charging.
Next to all this it's a pretty damn nice thing with a beautiful screen and probably the best smart watch, if it wasn't for the price. I hate and love it a bit more i guess

Try the app SWApp True Dark. I have found it to be the best way to have separate brightness for ambient mode. Note: sometimes you have the toggle the switch "On for Always On" off and back on again to make it control ONLY the ambient brightness. If you turn that off, it controls both, and gives you way more levels of brightness than the stock 5 (like 20 levels). I use watchawear and make custom blackout versions of the watchfaces, and set the brightness for ambient on 65 in SWApp True Dark and can almost get two full days (as in 45 hours) on a charge. If I wanted to I could only charge every other night.
Edit: BTW, the app is free with no ads...not a plug.
Oh yes that's so much better! Got it at 75 and it seems like a normal non glowing watch in a dark room now, love it.
Didn't even think to check for an app, cheers!
Edit: doesn't really work as it should, after the night I'm unable to get it to control only the ambient mode, somehow the toggle doesn't work either.
I've had the HW for a bit over a week. I got the M360 2015 46mm 2 days ago. I am returning the HW to Best Buy today.
I posted a long, detailed comparison over on the AC forums. The short version is the Qi charging and the bigger screen on the M360 won. Also, I and other people I showed them both to all agree the M looks nicer (comparing H Silver/Black leather to M Black/Black knurled bezel/Black leather).
The M is also just very slightly thinner. And, as another poster noted, the M ambient mode is not as bright, which is actually nicer (to me).
Also, the M 46mm has a 400 mAh battery. The H is only 300. The H got through the day with about 40% battery left, normally. The M seems to be getting to bedtime with 50% or a little more left. That could come in handy on days with extra heavy usage. Certainly, being able to plop the M on the Qi charger on my desk at work or the one in my truck could be handy.
Huawei has a speaker like the ZenWatch 2 for when 6.0 drops.
Thats all the reason you need.
I found some good deals on the Huawei Watch.

Got mine yesterday, and I think it's fantastic. I previously owned a Samsung Gear Live, and this is much nicer - the screen is brilliant, it's much better looking, the button is nicer and the whole thing feels very solid and well made, battery life so far is much better (I turned off the detection of bringing the watch up to look at it, which helps - when I do that mostly I only need the time, and I can press the button or screen for more), and the charger is better too (though still not the best).
Hi, I am using black steel with blackleather bracelet for 2-3 weeks. It is my first watch so I cant compare to anything and say what are pros and cons.
So shortly I am very very satisfied with the build quality and it's design.
The only thing that didn't met my expectations was that it doesn't have built in GPS. However I am not sure if it's very bad thing
Good work Huawei!
