hi i am using htc one m8 verizon in india. When i use roms which are based on verizon htc one m8 like RKDN i have this non verizon sim icon with ? on my status bar which is very annyoing tried all tips and tricks mentioned to remove verizon setup app and clear cache and data but nothing has worked so far . Want help or a tweak so that this irritating icon can dissapper . when i use non verizon roms or roms which are for htc one m8 international this icon does not appear. please help.

I have the same problem...
Work requires a stock rom, and gave me a verizon m8 - but I need t-mobile.
Plugged in a t-mobile card - everything works but it displays an annoying foreign sim icon... just wondering if anyone has figured out how to hide that thing?

Check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2594804 Edit the sku_id and put in the appropriate one for you carrier, that SHOULD get rid of the non-verizon sim icon.

I am both S Off and rooted and was using root explorer to set the permissions to r/w, but it still would not allow me to save the file.

make a flashable.zip to flash in custom recovery.

either that or pull your ACC/default.xml, let me know your SKU_ID and I'll make the .zip for you.
or if you are on stock ROM I can just pull the default.xml from there, and I think your SKU_ID would be 33?

I'm not entirely sure which one to use, I am located in the Cayman Islands, Caribbean, so I was just going to use 0 (HTC Generic). Will that work?

I was going to try 0 for both Region 0 is worldwide and sku_id 0 is HTC_Generic, hopefully it will work. Thanks for your help!

So the two 0's seemed to work fine, I didn't use a flashable zip in the end I found another way around. I copied the file to my desktop, edited it, renamed the original and then pasted in my new file worked fine.
So glad to be rid of the unknown sim popup and icon.

Additionally, the tabs inside the messaging app such as "All messages", "SMS/MMS", "Voice Mail" are messed up. Have you encounter this issue after changing the region and sku_id of your HTC M8?

Sprint unlocks devices launched after Feb 2015 under some circumstances. Did anyone try g flex 2 with full price paid on T-mo or at&t?
I was waiting for T-Mobile but when I spoke to them they didn't even know if they were going to carry the LG G Flex 2. So I ended up with sprint.
Just went ahead and got a Sprint model for $280 so I said whatevers.....But as far as I see it, when I put in my Cricket sim card, I got a invalid sim card message. So if anyone is seeing this, NO...it does not come unlocked out of the box. I am going to go ahead and try to do the MSL and all that stuff.
I got mine from sprint and paid in full. I then checked to see if I could get sim unlock and they told me that I had to wait 15 days since I was new to sprint. After the fifteen days I got on chat with sprint and they unlocked it for me. Hope this helps you.

What other carries did you try it with now that its unlocked?
I thought that it would work on T-mobile but doesn't get any bars shows its there just no bars. It is supposed to work by what I have read but maybe not.

I don't know how to find those files could you please tell me where I can find them and yes I have unlocked the phone. When I put in my T-Mobile sim I don't get any error just no bars.

go to main root /
then you´ll see a folder there called CARRIER
if you could pull all the folder and upload it that would be awesome.

There's four folders and I'm sure they have my info in them which I don't know if it is a good idea to send to you, and I don't really know how to send them. So please let me know what you are going to do with them first and then I will consider it. I'm not trying to be mean about it just want to be safe doing so.

you can copy it to your sd card. and open with RE EXPLORER , check it yourself you decided to send or not to sorry for my english

So I tried a camera mod and i broke my stock camera app, so does anyone have a flashable zip so I can get my stock camera working again? or if anyone has a step by step to manually replace the files that would be cool too. Thanks guys!

Hello everyone
I put together a Floating message zip that should work for all Note 5 variants! But only tested on Tmo N920T. So make a back up, flash and report back with model confirming that it worked or not!
Just flash zip in recovery, reboot and your good to go and now have Floating messages

Im going to put together a manual instruction way to get it to work! I will post soon! In the meantime, go to privapp and delete air message and air message proxy and Secmms_delight_note_open folders, reboot! And that will remove
Manual instructions for Floating message:
Extract my zip and copy air message, air message proxy and Secmms_delight_note_open folders to system/priv-app folder and set permissions for both folder and apk.
Copy this line to feature.xml and others.xml at the bottom found in system/csc.
<CscFeature_Common_EnableAirMessage>TRUE</CscFeature_Common_EnableAirMessage>
Hit save after both and reboot!
Look in settings and floating meesage should be there and look like picture below.
These are the files and what i did to make it work! If it doest work, go back and make sure you have the 3 folders in privapp with correct permissions set for folder and apk and make sure you have that line in feature.xml and others.xml.
Pictures below show how permissions and xmls should look!

Try this really quik... go to system/privapp and tell me if you have a Secmms_delight_note_open and Secmms_delight_note_usa folder....if you do go to usa apk and change the apk name to Secmms_delight_note_usa.bak, just change the apk to bak and reboot and see if it shows in settings

If you can learn to fiddle with this stuff like you just did, you will figure out how to make other mods to work too Thats how i learned! Alot of trial and error and lots of restoring back ups, but it took me a few days to figure this on out! Have a great weekend brotha:beer:

I found a way to remove all bloatware on all lg x and k series(no root!)works on most lg
1.Enable USB debugging on you phone in dev settings
2.Install adb
3.Open adb
4.Type adb devices(if you see your device on there you are good)
5.Adb shell
6.Now type "pm list packages"
7.Select the app/package and type "pm uninstall -k --user 0 name of package”
8.Click the thanks button and pm me if something does not work
Tested on 32 bit android 6.0.1

Don't worry you won't brick it if you install Google music or Google duo but if you delete system UI it will soft brick your phone no need to worry

Is there a full list of apps that are safe to remove?
I'm seriously considering this phone and debloating without the need for R00T is really helpful.
I'm sure if you do a recovery, they will all be reinstalled?!
