Remote control and *view* your phone camera with Android Wear - Wear OS General

Just wrote an Android Wear app to remote control *and view* your cell phone camera live. I have a series of other hacks I plan to do in the near future but here's a start. Open source too so hope people can help contribute and make it better! Welcome feedback, pull requests, suggestions.
On the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dheera.wearcamera
Source on GitHub:
https://github.com/dheera/android-wearcamera
Post on my website:
http://dheera.net/projects/android-wearcamera

Now you can spy on people and take photos of them without them knowing it xD

Very cool app. Works well. Thanks for this!!

This is brilliant!!! Absolutely brilliant!!!
Well done!

Totally awesome app!

I've made a bunch of updates to Wear Camera Remote since the first release now. I've added basic support for turning the flash on/off and switching between front/rear camera. But I'm doing it differently than all those paid apps (e.g. Pixtocam) in that I want the UI to blend in well with Google's UI. Also small buttons on a smartwatch is awful to use.
More features to come in the future when I get time, stay tuned. Or if someone wants to help extend this vision, it *is* an open source GPL project.

Tried this, awesome!! thanks

Awsome app !
Can you consider for the next version to be able to disable the screen on the phone ?

It's this for nexus devices only or all phones? It doesn't seem to work on my LG G3.

Not working on my HTC One either. The only app that's given me phone->watch video is LookBehind but it cost like $2. In any event, people are blown away by this James Bond-esque feature

Should work on ALL roms
** ROOT IS REQUIRED **
This is a simple application that allows you to use the menu key to unlock the phone from the lockscreen rather than sliding the tab.
Simply run the app, enable the option, and then press menu to unlock the phone when you're on the lockscreen.
Tested on the Nexus One and the Droid.
I mainly wrote this app for people who aren't running CyanogenMod (as that has my trackball unlock already incorporated). If you want to support me, scan the QR code and buy it from the market, but otherwise simply download the attached APK. I'm releasing it for free on XDA because this is my 'home' community and I'm loyal to my roots. (Please don't mirror the APK anywhere else)
Thanks bud, I was waiting for this. You've been a great help to the community. Keep it up!
Love it. Great work.
love it, goes hand in hand with trackball awake, makes screen awakening much faster and smoother process thanx.
Thanks persiansown, cool app!

Idk
Cool man, could you please add one more function to your app?!
Really hate the vibration on sliding to unlock/answer phonecalls.
Would be good to remove this haptic feedback or give option to turn it off.
When you want to unlock your phone or answer phonecalls most probably you are watching the screen, so this haptic feedback seems pointless, on the contrary it is annoying and kill the battery(every bit helps to save the battery?) and not very good to the lifetime of your phone.
If you can include thefunction to disable the haptic feedback to your app it would be really fascinating
Thanks! Nice app.
Yeah this app will work on G1s running eclair too
Thanks man, I missed the ability to unlock by two presses in 2.1+ ROMs!

RGB Led Strip controlled by any modern Smartphone/Tablet

Hey guys
I wrote some OpenSource Arduino code to control a 5m long RGB LED strip with my Android Phone. I use OSC Messages to communicate, so this works fine with all major mobile OS. This intelligent LED Strip supports DHCP and Bonjour, so its quite easy to adress this device.
Here is a little video of the LED Strip controlled by an iPad. I published more details about this project on my website http://pixelinvaders.ch.
A nice screenshot:

Hope you guys like it, and I'm still looking for a VERY good OSC App for Android, any ideas? (Control is the best I found)
That looks pretty darn cool. Is your Android code on your site as well? I've been interested it toying around with some Android to Arduino control and that would sure give me a jump start.
Keep up the good work! I love seeing guys doing DIY projects like this.
hey martin
I use standard OSC messages, so I did not have to create a special client. however, android osc clients are far from perfect, I hope someone will release a killer OSC app soon for Android...
That's awesome, I'm about to move house so would like to put some nice new lighting in - this gives me inspiration! Thanks!
Thanks stuart!
I hope this makes your new house looks cool
No possibility to use the infrared sensor of the HTC M7 to control the strip?!
Gesendet von meinem HTC One mit Tapatalk 2
Was this project discontinued? Looks like all the links to the stores are dead or out of stock.
adding a infrared reciever to the arduino should be pretty easy, however you would need to write a mobile application, which could send the commands.
and the project and website is still alive, see http://shop.pixelinvaders.ch/product/stripinvaders-5m-rgb-light-strip
which links are dead?
cheers

hi,
i agree i have not been able to give much love to this baby of mine. however there are large number of changes that are happening now.
including change in google app store policy which might make all the tools listed in this app as non conforming and lead to there removal i am trying to find a way out for the scenario.
As of now i am trying to setup a aptoide repository and see if i can get permission from all the tool owners to upload a version there.
Am interested
Where can I download it? Please give a link
Soo more specificly, what does this app do?

Hi XDA! You might have seen my previous app, PulseFlash which was made in the process of learning Android app development. This is once again made for the same reason.
This tiny Compass app was made Graphics Designer new to the app development scene, thus it is very clean. I've utilized most of Android's framework, making this app fit right in!
This app doesn't need any permissions from Android. The hardware used is sensors already available.
jfeinstein10 for his amazing SlidingMenu library.
A lot of folks over at Stackoverflow.
@SpaceCaker who is my personal Android Wikipedia, didn't help me in this case, but awesome guy anyway.
The main source code is available at my Github, I did not share the graphics, nor styling files. Feel free to use the code, but please do not recreate my app, or something very similar and then share it publicly.
Please do not mirror - I'd like to track my downloads

Not yet no. I am not capable to pay the Google Developer fee yet.
I'm having a question. You're using TYPE_ORIENTATION for the sensor. Isn't this deprecated since API Level 6?

Yes it is, thanks for pointing out!
But I found that when I use a workaround I end up needing more permissions which I don't want to do. Anyhow thanks for the heads up!
It works well, thanks.
Good job, great and simple all, I read in the details that you're 14, if I were you I'd be beyond proud to do something like this at such a young age

ABOUT NOYZE
Noyze is a volume panel replacement for Android 4.3+. What's more, it is the only such app that does not require root access, the XPosed framework, or a custom ROM. All you have to do is enable it in Accessibility. It comes preloaded with themes and settings to make the panel your own. Find more info at the Google+ Community for Noyze.
Noyze even got a little love here on XDA thanks to TK Bay (see the video below).
NOYZE TODAY
After nearly four years, I've decided to throw in the towel. What that means for Noyze is that it is now completely free and open source (Apache 2.0).
You can download the APK (all features unlocked) on APK Shared, and the source code on GitHub.
SUPPORT
Noyze is now Free And Open Source (FOSS) but not under active development. That's it, that's all.
If you appreciated my work, you're welcome to buy my a beer (donate) via PayPal at [email protected]
Thanks to everyone who made Noyze a success, it's sad to call it quits but I've got one more year of undergraduate (and medical school) to look forward to, it's time to focus on new horizons.
Good app!!!
NICE GREAT APP best thing doesn't need root
Sent from my Lenovo S650 using XDA Free mobile app
Really, really awesome app!
A shame what happened between you and Google...!
Download link not working, can anyone mirror please?
Agreed, anyone have a mirror to the new and final version?
This is the best volume app it integrates perfectly in android 5
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
The download link works perfectly for me but since it's FOSS here. Also great job with Noyze thank you.
Any news? Any new apps you might be working on
