[Q] Looking for stylus like S pen or HTC flyer stylus

All the styli compatible with the one x seem to have that thick rubber end, and I'd like one like the flyer's stylus or the S pen. There's also some that have this plastic disc on the tip, but those have gotten some bad reviews so I'm not interested in that. Any ideas? pressure sensitivity would be nice as well.

The Galaxy Note uses inductive touch. The HOX variants use capacitive touch. You're pretty much stuck with the fat rubber ended styli.

Magnetic flip case danger to SPen and screen?

Hi,
I'd like to know if those magnetic flip cases for this tablet will cause any damage or problem to the SPen functionality or the screen? I've seen people say that it will. That it will throw off the SPen calibration and slowly but permanently damage the screen. I want to order a Belkin Stripe case and have the tablet in it 24/7. Bad idea?

The Spen sensors are magnetic. If you use a magnetic flip case, the Spen will not work on the part near the magnet.

Yeah I have a belkin flip cover that I got at Best Buy along with the tablet. The magnet within it is strong enough to interfere so when taking notes I have to lay the flap on the table without folding it completely back. Its a pain but it works fine. I do like the fact that the flap closes fairly securely since the magnets are strong though.

The Speck case is excellent. Very good protection all around, sturdy, secure clasp, snug fit, quality construction and materials, and no magnets!

Need a case that covers all ports/stylus...

I am currently using the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro case. I dropped it and it cracked near 2 corners so I'm looking for a new case. Anyone know of a similar case that provides protection and has port and s pen covers? I've only seen maybe 1 other case (love mei?) that has a stylus cover, but it looked way too bulky and couldn't use the fingerprint scanner.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I am looking for a case that covers the stylus section on the note 4, not looking for a case that comes with a stylus.

iblason armorbox works very well. also works with the samsung wireless qi back which allows charging wirelessly through the cover.

From what I see on their main site, that armorbox looks pretty much like what I have now minus the s pen cover. I don't feel like getting another version of what I have because they aren't that durable.

ive dropped mine lots of times. its pretty durable and covers all sides/back/front. no damage despite dropping mine 5 times onto concrete and getting it wet and using it in a dusty shop.

You're luckier than me, I dropped my case a couple times on concrete and noticed hairline fractures on 2 corners. Ordering the armorbox will probably be a lateral move or even a step down cause it does not have a cover for the s pen which is what I am looking for.

Yes, that does look interesting. Too bad it doesn't come with a holster. I can't pocket carry this phone. I like that it comes with optional back covers, but that case looks like it has no grip at all.

8.4 - Slimmest, tight fitting hard case?

Hey folks, I'm putting the TAB S 8.4" behind a dashboard and need to find a hard case which will be used to help "permanently" mount the Tab.
Could someone with experience recommend the slimmest, Tight Fitting hard case?
Like, I can pick it up by the case, shake it around like mad and it wouldn't fall out. But the case is still as slim as possible?

I have the 10.5" and i bought an case from ebay for a few £ and my tablet just clips in and it does not really add any bulk, they also sell the 8.4" version see if you can get it from your local ebay.

I bought this on for my Tab S 8.4. I does not have a cover though but I like it a lot. Very slim fitting and affordable.
Also its not really hard, but slightly flexible TPU.
Not sure if it would work for what your doing.

Thanks, John. It's a nice looking case but I think I'd need the bezel to fit all the way around my phone, not just at the edges.

I just received this one. It is quite thin (much thinner than the Roocase Origami and the official case. It lacks magnets to hold the case closed (but it does wake/sleep).

It's got a cover, so it's useless to me. But thanks for posting.

I found this motomo case while looking for a case for my tab. Not sure if its available in your region but my dad has it for his iphone and it's a pretty slim design. Matte rubber all around with an aluminum back plate.

You could probably rip off the cover, which looks to be held on with glue.
I have this case, which fits very tight. Its only $7. You can cut off the cover and peel away the fabric material. The Khomo is thinner, but the plastic looks flimsier.

I use the Samsung book cover and it is the thinner around. Normally $60 now in At&t store for $5. They also have the tempered glass protector, again normally $60 and now also $5.

Best Samsung Tab A SM-P580 Case

Picked up the SM-P580 for my 6 year old this past week.. Cases are a hit or miss with the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen (P580) and without S Pen (T580). There are a limit amount of accessories for these models.
You probably want a Mignova Heavy Duty Hybrid Protective Case with Build In Kickstand, since you're letting your kid use your tablet: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y15M2VP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It will help you reduce the damage if he or she drops it. Don't rely on the included screen protector because its garbage. There are identical ones with different brand name, but they are all the same. All made in China. Some are cheaper while others are more expensive so make sure you pick the cheapest price and it's designed for the one with the S pen.
Also, the model without the S Pen (T580) is a smaller tablet. They aren't the same size as the model with the S Pen (P580).

This one is okay, but the 360 degree rotating stand is flimsy. It only stays in place if you just watch a video on your tablet. If you plan to use it while its in vertical or horizontal mode, it often falls down.

If I had this case for the one with a S Pen, the screen flaps are annoying and cover a small portion of the screen in all directions. For a tablet without the S Pen, it's manageable. Good build quality. Thicker case than Infiland leather case. You got to take the tablet out to access your mSD card.

Right now, it's 50% off for $25 but normally for $50. If you missed the sale, you can get cheaper ones on Ebay as used or open-box.
Out of all the cases I have including the Pro Case for the T580, the Samsung Book Cover is the best one for the Tab A 10.1” with S Pen (P580). The only con aside from drop protection is that you can't use it in vertical mode because the magnets only hold the tablet in two horizontal angles. Easy to take off and put the book cover on. Easy access to your micro-SD card slot. No raised screen case hinge to interfere with my hand when I'm writing on it. The magnets are strong and hold in place with I use it.
I was thinking of getting a keyboard case, but I discovered there's no official Samsung Keyboard case. There are 3rd party Chinese manufacturer keyboard cases, but they are a hit-or-miss too with build quality and user experience.

It's not cheap, but it's worth a bit of extra cash.
I did take the screen protector out because I don't like them, but otherwise it's a great case.

I like Supcase but I do not believe they make one for the SM-P580 with S Pen..
