Gear 2 compatibility with aosp rom - Samsung Gear 2

I was using the slim rom and it wouldn't let me download gear manager from the Samsung website. I wiped my phone and install a touch wiz rom in order for t the website to recognize my phone. Do I have to manually install the gear manager from xda or is aosp roms not compatible with the gear 2?
I am using a note 3.

Well if you could get Gear Manager to work with AOSP ROM's then the Galaxy Gear could work with any phone and would not be limited to Samsung Phones.
With the original Gear smart watch there is an advanced ROM available called "Null" which removes the restrictions from only allowing the galaxy gear to be paired with Samsung Phones. However, even though on the Gear 1 you can install Gear Manager on non samsung phones and non touchwiz roms you will not be able to get Notifications to work.
But you can get the bluetooth connection to work and you can get text message with apps like "tablet talk" but again that is on the gear 1.
Now for the gear 2 it is not running on Android it is running on Tizen OS. So until developers figure out how to put Android on the Gear 2 and remove Tizen you will have to wait.
Sorry for the long message i just wanted to try and explain it as thoroughly as i could...
Oh...and the developer of the Null ROM is supposed to be working on the Gear 2 so lets just keep our fingers crossed!

Update to the latest ROM version (try Overcome Kratos while you are at it). The Gingerbread email client from Samsung has this feature included. There is no need to look for a different email app.
Can I just install gingerbread?

Cheat man sorry to bother you but i've sent you a PM a few days ago ... did you receive it? ...
@OP: you have to flash Gingerbread (aka GB in these forums) or just update your Galaxy Tab using Kies (the update software from Samsung).
Provided I don't think you are familiar with flashing stuff, check out Samsung Kies first. You can download it from the Samsung Website:
http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/m...softwaremanual.do?page=MOBILE.SOFTWARE.MANUAL
It is the safest way and far easier.
@Misoginul: I never got your message! I just PMed you as well... check if it worked fine.
Cheers!

Need Kno app from Note 10.1 WiFi

Does anyone have the "Kno" application from the Galaxy Note 10.1 WiFi version? I have the 3G version and the app is not included and would like to install it on my Note 10.1 3G. I have looked for the app, but seems they have it for iPad, Windows other to install from Kno website. Thanks.
Search is your friend:

I haven't tried it yet, waiting for JB to root.
Thanks, I did see this, was hoping to find a way to install without rooting or changing build prop.

Samsung Push Service - New Version Available

So I'd say about 4-5 days I get a notification on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 saying (Samsung Push Service) - New Version Available, install now?
When I click yes, the Samsung App store starts to open and then I get: Error! Product does not exist in this store(4002) Any ideas what this means?
I'm in same boat

You rooted and flash counter = 1? I can't prove it but I think it went away after resetting the counter.
There was an update to 'group play' i think.
I really like this app, because i have an s3 as well... and colleagues at work also have samsung phones. We use this app to jointly whiteboard etc.

I'm rooted with counter one and have had no problems with updating. It was about group play, allshare and I think two of the samsung hubs (games and video? ?)

I've had the same from day one, unrooted, flashcounter 0. My solution was to just get rid of the Samsung appstore after rooting since its useless anyway.

Time for S2 Plus For a 4.4 Update

So, KitKat is out now, S2 plus is not sure to get an update, Google however mentioned that devices like Nexus 4, 7 and 10, galaxy S4 and HTC One will be getting official update in the coming weeks.
Any idea on S2 Plus or any developer who can work around and create a custom ROM?
Yea we'll get 4.4 really soon if you stop asking and start developing

You can't install a software from another device/model on yours. It'll brick it. I think your friend is lying as well? My apologies if its legitimate but I just checked and found no software for s5 working on the note 2
5S rom

Its beside that possible to install a look a like rom
For note 2 see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU6g2UfjVx8
For S3 See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-blekota-s5-lite-beta-4-5-1-t2752331
This Called searching
If you find an individual APK to install, you might not brick your phone. I've been trying to find the S5 camera app for my S2. It didn't work, but it didn't brick it.
@jorandobnl
I did. I searched for many look a like roms but i wanted the same thing..not just a theme or a really close one..
Thanks for the help anyways

Apparently Kitkat OTAs for the Galaxy S3 include the S5 theme
You just need to edit your device name in the build.prop file
