What about those folks who have the verizon developer edition? I believe we could root and flash custom roms. I hope we could get support. My S5 DE has been sitting there since Monday :/

Just wanna let you guys know that you no longer need Foxfi for tethering. You can use X Tether from Xposed Module Repository: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.dym.motoxtether to activate wireless tether. (Or in this case, mobile hotspot) Check out the pics for proof.

Thanks I'll look into this

@Secondlaw - Were you saying the method you quoted from @Droid_Evo_8 works? Or were you stating that there was an easier method without using xposed? The method from your post doesn't seem to involve using the xposed mod but rather modifying a SQL file. Care to elaborate? Did this work without xposed and are you on a VZW non Dev GS5?
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I installed the xPosed mod first and that didn't allow tethering. Once I modified the .DB, I was able to tether. I didn't do it the other way around.
I suppose someone else could edit the .DB file without the installed the xPosed mod and test.

I successfully enabled native hotspot with xposed and x tether but after disabling the hotspot (after testing) my connections to the web are mucked up until I reboot. A page will load about 3/4 then stop loading. Doesn't matter if on a WiFi connection or vzw.

T-Mobile Kit Kat is here! Updated with link to latest version D80120G

The latest update on the LG servers! Not an OTA. D80120G, Kit Kat 4.4.2. Here's a link to the kdz file on their server. You can use the LG Mobile Support Tool to upgrade. After putting your phone into download mode (holding volume up while plugging in usb), go into the options menu and selected Upgrade Recovery. You will need to have the latest LG USB drivers installed. Unfortunately, the Mac drivers do not support software upgrades. Towelroot does not support D80120G yet, but Stump Root was able to use brute force and root 20G. You can find Stump Root here

I think it sucks that carriers are allowed to block out and taint parts of an OS, an open-source OS at that, just because they have people by the balls in terms of contracts and subsidies. Tethering? Free, and part of Android, but try telling a carrier that. Tap-to-Pay? "Oh but ISIS is so much better!," says carriers. "You can use that while we install CIQ to track every movement that you make!"
Ahem...sorry about that. /rant

I know there's code in there for tap to pay because using a shortcut creator, you can see activities, but it appears the UI to make changes is gone or hidden. Having root, there may be a SQL change that can be made to turn it on or point it to google wallet.

Maybe is not the thread to ask, but seeing that you have XPOSED working already, I wanted to know, how most of usual XPOSED mods are working for you? GravityBox and Tinted Statusbard for example, how are they working on your G3? I'm really used to them on my Nexus 5 and since I will probably get a G3 when an Internarional version is released in US I'm really interested in your answers!
Thanks!

gravitybox is working excellently , all my mods i used on the htc one m7 are running without issues. I cant say i ever used " Tinted Statusbard " before, but xposed misc modules / downloads searches works as you would expect, run the root method above, install xposed, and enjoy.
the one caveat i guess i should mention is that no custom recovery / backup has been run. So, install at your own risk,

I have three questions to you guys who already rooted the G3 with towelroot:
Does a factory reset unroot the G3 again and makes possible to install OTA Updates again? How can I perfom the factroy reset without a custom recovery? Do I have to install SuperSU (or something equivalent) after using towelroot?

[ROM] [DEV aboot ONLY] Verizon Stock Rooted DEODEXED PG2 [kltevzw]

Hi everyone, I'm going to post a separate thread about this. None other than @jrkruse has once again made us a stock modified rom for the Verizon galaxy S5. Lets go over the basics shall we?
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
You MUST have an unlocked bootloader in order for root to work!(Or you may/probably will bootloop your phone)
This rom uses an updated bootloader, but it is not needed, you may flash this over the PD1 and PF4 bootloader!
If you wish to update your bootloader or need to unlock, please goto my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...t/rd-unlocking-galaxys-s5-bootloader-t3337909
Features
DEODEXED
Knox Removed!
Amazon Bloat Removed
Verizon Bloat Removed
Rooted!
Hotspot Fix!
Installation
Please read everything Above before continuing
Well you continued so I assume you understand what you are doing
One last time, you MUST HAVE AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER TO FLASH
You also MUST BE ON PD1+ Bootloaders!
You need to download the ROM from here
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=312968873555004789
Flash it inside TWRP or Flashfire or Safestrap(Or whatever method you may be using to flash roms)
I recommend against Dirty flashing however if you are coming from a 6.0.1 ROM you probably are fine
Wipe Cache/Dalvik
Reboot!
You should be done!
Extras
If you would like xposed, this framework should work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960
Thanks to @wanam and @rovo89
SuperUser Provided by @Chainfire (I Assume lol)
Screen overlay issues can be corrected by this

Useless Info
Pokemon go won't work, get over it!
Android Pay also won't work!
Really Beta Stuff
If you wish to try and play Pokemon Go or use android pay, the following may work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/suhide-t3450396
You CANNOT use xposed unless you use a systemless xposed compiled for our Samsung devices @wanam usually does a good job at that)
Expect bootlooping or problems!

I don't know for sure, but my bet is it because the programs check something for security/anticheat reasons, and since we are rooted and unlocked it fails and won't work. That's just a guess though.

Wasn't sure if it had something to do with the fact that some of the bloatware was removed or what you are saying. I am on rooted, deodexed, modded PF4 already but never tried either app so for all I know I cannot use them already on my current ROM.
EDIT: And now I see what happens on PF4 with Samsung Pay. The app cannot verify the Android software when adding a card, rendering Android Pay useless. Oh well.
I am having screen overlay detected issue with GravityBox but the rom awesome .

I use it on s7 and it works fine but I don't use xposed. I used an earlier version on s5 and it worked but then again I didn't use xposed framework. So I guess the best would be just read through the suhide thread and see if latest versions work with xposed. By the way I meant to ask earlier, how is everything going. Good I hope. Honor 8 tethering on Straight Talk

I have seen quite a few questions about this in the other threads so I though I would go ahead and post my solution.
This was tested on my FRD-L04 running the stock *b162 firmware, rooted with magisk v11.1, and using the $40 straight talk "unlimited" plan. I cannot promise or guarantee that this method will work with any other model or firmware.
First, If you are using magisk, flash the module I will link to below. If you are NOT using magisk, you will have to modify your build.prop manually. You will need to add the line
"net.tethering.noprovision=true"
Second, with a root enabled file browser, you need to go into the /system/app/ folder and delete the folder named "ATTEntitle"
Reboot and tether should be working fine!

Thanks for moving this out of TWRP. What version of the OS (full vers. # and also please, the hardware model and straight talk plan)?
I've been looking at it but can only do so for Nougat via CM 14.1 code, which until someone tells me it works (Never tried it), I'm not sure it's the right place to look, but with Honor's crappy support and zero source policy, it's what we have. Also, are you rooted? Stock? Anything you can tell about the phone and it's setup would be helpful.
Thanks.
*edited original post*
Thanks for adding the details. These guys are only interested in 7.0 (Nougat). I've used "net.tethering.noprovision=true" for years and it's always worked especially back in the days before hotspot was a part of so many plans. I've got a no hotspot ATT cheap go-phone plan on my Honor 8 FRD-L04 Nougat and it has no tethering in the plan, but tethering works fine from my phone. Gotta be a combo of emui 5/Nougat-like and straight talk's policies.

Nope, no known solution yet
I have tethering working on straight talk. I am also on L04 385. What I did was root then I installed magisk, then I installed the tethering magisk module. It works perfectly.
I am on b380 now with magisk. I can come firm that the tethering magisk module works!

Thanks a lot for pointing to Magisk!
For all the folks that like me cannot update to B385 yet.
Magisk module works also on B360 but it requires a modified boot

I am using the hybrid kernel modified boot quoted above and it does indeed have proper loop support and therefore magisk compatible.
Also fixed a cpl of the other bugs associated with B360 such as the ok Google listening microphone bug that was present when the sound recorder, camera, or another app tried to use the audio recorder

Does this work with simple mobile on honor 8??

Always On Display (Legit Not My Work)

I'm not sure why I've not seen this posted here. Any ways here's the link to the 6t thread where this was originally shared. https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/themes/exposed-pixel-display-oneplus-6t-t3947995/page47#post80204620
My screens :
My post from original thread:
To whom it may concern: Yes the test version the dev posted works for the TMobile 7pro. Yes all features work. For me battery drain is negligible with DC dimming turned on. I still get over 7hr SOT even though gsm shows doze never activates.
It's been mentioned weeks ago mate on various threads.
The only thing is that you have to be rooted and exposed installed.

Thanks Bro. I don't remember seeing it as I don't follow many threads because I'm stocked rooted maybe. I only shared because I'm highly impressed with the functionality and the battery drain. If it's not useful I'll ask for the thread to be deleted.

Mainly because I can't search from mobile (get a 404 error) but any way to make a magisk module of this? Something that won't trip safety net, as I rely on it for travel and payment stuff (I'm rooted with magisk ofc)

Using edxposed won't trip safety net
I used this, but Snapchat banned me for 12h,12h,24h and 48h.. so removed xposed.

I pass safety net and am still able to use Android Pay using edxposed.
He should have made a magisk module, not exposed....
The battery drain was very high on my oneplus 7 pro eu. I will test it one time more

Agreed, xposed is a pain to use.
I will not use xposed, but magisk modules works a Treat...
I never could get it to work. Even asked in the thread but no one replied.

How did you get it to work? I can't ever get it to work no matter what I do. Can you share your steps if you haven't already done so?

Search the thread for the Tmobile variant. I'm using the test build that the official Dev posted.

Thanks! I somehow missed that. Working good so far!
Now if I can only get it to display in 12 hour.
This is the link posted in the thread as a test build for the t-Mobile variant because the official app didn't work. There has since been a another official release that I haven't tested but other users have confirmed it working. Just follow the instructions as postedhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1UcXBiCWw4q4IkWZhqy1M_YoAZO2Bqvmt/view
Install the opAOD app from the link above
Install Edxposed installer apk https://www.coolapk.com/apk/com.solohsu.android.edxp.manager (YES YOU CAN FIND IT ELSE WERE BUT I ACTUALLY USE COOL APK)
Magisk:
Install Riru core(don't reboot)
Install Riru Edxposed )Reboot)
Open the edxposed installer app and find the modules tab
Click the activate tab and reboot
That's all I did and it was immediately working upon reboot.

Awesome thanks. Is there a way to change it to 12 hour and also is it possible to schedule the aod to come on at a certain time? Bi know you aren't the developer but figured I'd ask anyway.

No for 12 hour for now. As far as turning on at certain times that is also a no but you can disable with a simple tap. With that I would suggest setting regular alarms to just touch the phone to disable and enable AOD, or somehow using Tasker which I have no patience to do, to set active times. My recommendation is to just tap the screen to disable when you don't need it. It's a tool after all and not a gimmicky feature
