[MOD] increase headphone volume (only) to max !!! - Galaxy Note 3 Exynos Android Development

-Tried in N900 only (stock 4.3 rooted) (update:works also in stock 4.4.2 rooted), but may work in other versions (backup first)
-Please take care of your HEARING when lisening in high volumes, i'm not responsible for what happen to it, you have been warned !!!
-Increases headphone (only) max volume from 85 to 127 !!!
-Needs a rooted device
-Based on work from this forum and my personal experimentation with Alsamixer app and Es File Explorer
-Steps:
1-enable root access by Es File Explorer app
2-mount system as read write by Es File Explorer App
3-go to path system/etc and backup file ysound.xml (copy to other location) or rename it
4-past the included file in the same previous path after unzipping it, it should contain xml extension not rar extension
5-long press on the file then properties and change permissions to rw-r-r root root
6-restart phone
7-done !!!
-In case of any problems or if you want to return to previous setting simply restore your backup file and restore permissions as rw-r-r root root and restart
-you could notice the increase in volume by Alsamixer app (headphone volume) before 85 after 127, not only by hearing
-included file in attachments
-Or if you have a custom recovery, you could try flashing the zip file in post 16 of this thread (easier), thanks for Dr.Ketan for making the file flashable

Thanks.

It only increase headphone volume not any other kind of volume, i have changed other values not the same in the previous thread using alsamixer app experiementation and my hearing as i opened alsa mixer app and found that headphone volume max stock is 85 so i extracted the file and searched all values of 85 and changed them to 127 the maximum as reported by Alsamixer app and tried it and the sound of headphones was extremely Loud, so i thought about sharing file here for general benefit and for easier sound maximizing for headphones only, wish someone could make a small script for flashing it via recovery to be applied easier instead of our manual method, but the good is that it could be applied in rooted phones without custom recoveries
It is not a slight increase in headphone volume, it is the maximum allowed by device hardware !!!!

1-Have you tried changing permissions of the file to root root rw-r-r and restarting phone
2-remove write permission from es file explorer after applying the patch and restart and see
3-their is no relation between two files phone.apk and ysound.xml
4-have you tried extracting file correctly
5-try restoring original file with permissions as root root rw-r-r and restart and see if the problem is solved
6-work only in stock or near stock roms not aosp or aokp types
7-I think the problem is in the file permissions not set correctly

I have just now replaced the file & not getting any fc thanks for the help....But I could not find any difference in volume of the music player...poss to help me on this pls?
SM900 /VN ROM V9/ KITKAT 4.4.2

1-restart phone once after replacing file
2-check only when headphones plugged
3-try increasing volume to max
4-check file permissions again
5-download alsamixer app from google play and see headphone volume is it 127 (try it after restarting phone and plugging headphones and playing some music)

I'll give a try

I do not think so if the processor is Qualcom based not Exynos based as i heard that Qualcom based models use a different sound chip, you could however try to go to the path system/etc and see if the file ysound.xml (Yamaha sound chip) is found or not ?? if found so backup and try mod and follow instructions closely , if not found try another mod not Exynos based, you may find one in other sections of this forum

Auto record is not possible with Mod
You have to look to thirt party application for that
I have tested this and working fine on LJ1/3
It have both option, record while on call as well auto record as well many other features.
Just so you all know. There's an app called Total Recall | call recorder (costs INR 500) that records 2 way calls like a charm on stock unrooted phone too. They have a 14 days trial if youd like to test it. It has 3 methods for recording i the advanced settings. Method B works for Note2.
Doesn't work for me. It says "Unfortunately, contacts have stopped". I could get it work on Note1 before.
Hi there! Do You know if it is compatible whit LJ1 stock?

I still doubt form procedure you have mentioned, I think file was not flashed correctly.
In step 2 you have removed Phone.apk
then you have flashed zip
After this you lose baseband, This i think mimic that file was not flashed correctly
If you want to confirm it is not working do this
Download other zip, which you need to use with root explorer
-First copy your existing file secPhone.apk & odex (backup)
-Replace file packed in zip to system/app
-Change permission
-Reboot device
If it is not work then only it confirms

All the mod does is to enable the inbuilt call recording feature that Samsung disabled for some regions. In other words, it works as Samsung intended. There probably is a way to edit the volumes of recorded calls but I don't know if anyone has looked into that.
@ anyone who is having issues, it sounds as if you are not following the procedures as outlined in the OP. The mods works flawlessly on stock LJ3 odexed firmware.

Volume Boost Mods For Call Recording Will Also Make Call Recorder By Skvalex Work Properly
Thanks to jovy23 Original Post Here. I just modified them to work with Call Recording
To Flash Volume Boost Mods:
1. Flash one of the Call Record zips (If you have already flashed a Call Record zip goto step 3)
2. Reboot
3. Reboot back to recovery
4. Flash Volume Boost Mod
5. Reboot
6. To flash a different Volume Boost Mod just follow step 3 through step 5
Volume Very High Mod
Download:

Volume Moderate Mod
Download:
Sprint_MF9_Volume_Call_Rec_MODERATE.zip
Volume Stock
Download:
Sprint_MF9_Volume_Call_Rec_NORMAL.zip
Tried the Sprint_MF9_FULL_BUTTON one for Odexed MF9. I have the VOLUME BOOSTING SOUND [MODERATE] (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41775485&postcount=2]) and I noticed when using Speakerphone my voice came out very distorted while other caller's voice was fine. A different call without speakerphone tried came out great for both sides.
In case people are wondering, The Record Button replaces the "Add Caller Button" and the recordings are in AMR format and automatically goes into root/sdcard/Sounds/Call recording Phone Number- ###.amr For clarity sdcard is the built in phone storage space. External card is located under root/storage/extSdCard.
I still haven't tested this with bluetooth headset but should be fine I imagine.

So what files exactly are all needed to make this work when I do a manual push? I have an odexed ROM and would like to push the files manually- I do not have a custom recovery (nor do I want one at this time). I merged the button and menu download folders. I am assuming that I do not copy over the META INF folder only the system folder- but I just want to make sure. Also I am deleting the secphone.odex from the system/app folder of the phone?

Extract my zip and copy the files to the appropriate folders SecPhone.apk to /system/app folder then delete SecPhone.odex or rename it like this SecPhone.odex to SecPhone.odex.bak then copy snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 and snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3_auxpcm to /system/etc/snd_soc_msm. It is ok to overwrite these 2 files. Then Reboot. Then go to settings to applications to the all applications tab find Phone and clear data. Reboot again should have call recording enabled.

So updating the files bricked by phone. I restored everything and attempted another try. What ended up happening that caused my train wreck was- I transferred the files to my phone via bluetooth. When I looked at the files (after- yeah I know-mistake) the names of the 2 fusion files had "null" at the end of the extension. The second time around I sent them to the phone via data cable and all was good.
So now it works awesome, thanks much for the efforts and the help.

Ok dumb question but if I have a stock odexed ROM but was able to change the theme to the all black one (even though it is listed as for deodexed only - by manually pushing the apk), what do I push manually from the menu zip to get this to work without reverting back to white using the full apk version? The snd_soc_msn folder under etc and the secphone.apk inside the vrtheme folder?

I won't be responsible if anything goes wrong.
I'm also providing the stock xml file if you want to revert back to the original settings.
If you experience any distortion please tinker around with xLoud & ClearAudio+ settings in the sound section.

is that is for d2212
I've tested it on D2212 and its working fine, it should work on other single sim variants as well, just backup your stock mixer paths file before replacing..

I've updated the previous mod. It had some bugs.
Works awesome on my E3........ but i had to play with the equalizer and Clear Phase to fix the distorsion
Can you try to make stereo sound using the earpiece as a front speaker? I've saw that some devices have this mod..... it would be cool to see it on E3

Work on D2203 ?

Changing volume control sound?

The 'beep' sound that my phone makes when I increase or decrease the volume is pretty irritating. I found some threads that help me disable the 'beep' but none that will guide me how to replace the same with any custom 'beep'. I'd really like the Zenfone volume control sound on my phone.
Device Specs :
Lenovo A369i
4.2.2
Stock Rom
ROOT
XPOSED
CWM 3.2
I have tried looking in system/media for the ogg file to replace but it isn't the correct location to look for. Do I need to modify my Android System.apk or SystemUI.apk for that?
P.S: I know that beep isn't the correct word but I don't know what is the correct one.
Dont even think to touch system UI or Android system
That doesnt help u the beep is nit there plus it will brick your phone
Navigate to
System/media/audio/ui
And find there file called volume control.ogg
Replace that with ur desired tone
Give a thanks if i helped u

U must instelled viper sound mode ( i installed from magisk module). Then place the sound profile(3 files which u downloaded) in /viper4android/profiles/yourfolder(or whatever u want to create a folder with any name) in your phone storage and then go to viper and select load effect profile and choose yourfolder(or whatever folder name in which 3 files were placed). Play a music and enjoy pure loud sound.
Hit thank button if u like my work.
