So when it is blue you are connected to the router and you can access the internet right? This is what should happening...
I do not know why it disconnects... also try this, when it disconnects go to the wifis (in settings) and click the "two ways arrow" icon (bottom left), and then click cancel... some times i have to do that to connect

Remove location service for wifi and change wifi setting to always on

On connect view device receive the IP. If you do not receive or IP is inccorect, you can set the IP manually

I need help, I'm using sister's laptop for this. But anyways, my Lenovo A850 cannot connect to the wifi. But I had multiple problems before, that is from my charger not working properly, but we fixed it. After fixing I used it for a bit, and I just rebooted the system so my wifi connection will be fixed, but after rebooting my System UI stopped working for some weird reason. So I looked up the problem and I factory reset my phone, I had connection for 24 minutes sharp, and I lost that connection. How do I fix it? Everytime I forget the network and re-enter the password it says "Authenticating Fail." But it kept happening all over again, my father even made sure to pay the wifi. To make sure I'm not the only one who has the problem in the house I said to my sister if she can connect, which it did. HELP ME I CAN'T PLAY GAMES IN MY PHONE ANYMORE!!! P.S: Does the data connection work? But I do hope that you can respond quickly, I am really eager to use my phone. I haven't use it in a while.

[Q] Save my sanity! Wifi and data disables on screen off!

OK, let me first state that I have no battery saving apps installed, power saving is off and my wifi policy is set to always keep wifi awake.
Still, whenever my screen has been off for a few seconds (I'm guessing what happens is that the phone goes into deep sleep), both my wifi and my data connection goes into some kind of sleep state as well, making connections to and from the phone impossible. This means that push messages and mail aren't delivered and oftentimes when I turn on my phone again the messages start chiming in. Note that wifi and/or data don't need to reestablish after I turn the screen back on. They're still connected, just not active.
Using FTPServer on my One S and connecting from a pc confirms that all data sending (on both wifi and data) ceases after I turn off the screen.
When the phone is plugged in, all is dandy and all connections are kept alive!
I'm currently running running ViperS ROM, but this issue has plagued me across different ROMs (both sense and aosp) and across different radios as well.
I've literally (almost) googled my ass off on this issue, but I'm at my wits end. This shouldn't be related to HTC's SmartSync, since (1) I've disabled it in VenomTweaks and (2) It supposedly doesn't kick in until after 15 minutes. All my accounts have auto-sync activated and I've also disabled stuff like "restrict background data".
I've tried with and without the sleep mode settings under power settings below activated (w/ reboot after change).

For it to work the you need to use power saver so if you don't want it doing the other things then turn them off first then turn on power saver.

Now I'm on 2.15.0000 with radio 1.11.50.05.28.
I flashed the ICS RUU to do the official JB OTA in order to upgrade from my old hboot 1.14.0002 and radio 1.06es because I believed the old hboot and radio were the culprits in this. Sadly, they weren't.
To add insult to injury, I tried setting up a completely new google account as well as setting up a special hotmail account in the stock JB in case either of those were causing trouble with push message delays. Same crap though. Most nothing coming through until the screen was turned on.

Sorry to hear that, man!
Have you tried AOSP based ROMs as well? Made no difference for me, but YMMV...
But I agree that it's frustrating! It's 2013, everyone and their grandma are online 24/7 and I'm lucky if I get a mail notification within an hour of it actually arriving!

Yes AOSP ROMS as well. Resetting my router seemed to fix it as far as Wifi is concerned. Can't test data at the moment.

Phone modem/radio dead?

Not sure if the phone radio is completely dead or not but I've lost all signals completely today. Nothing I do works.
If I go into Mobile Networks and choose Network Operators, the phone is able to scan for the networks and showed my correct carrier in the list. However I choose to register on it, it doesn't work. It just keeps scanning and doesn't register.
Tried flashing new ROM from scratch with new radios from CM and Oxygen (230 and 241) and neither works. Tried flashing via recovery and fastboot. Tried restoring from a working TWRP backup, still the same issue.
I took my SIM card out and tried on an older phone, works fine. Used another working SIM card on my OPO, still doesn't work. At this point, I think it could be a hardware issue with the phone. Only thing I'm confused about is why it's able to list the carriers in Network Operators and this was never an issue in the past. Also, it doesn't show a question mark in the signal bar so that would lead me to think it's detecting the network but not fully working or registered on it for whatever reason.
All I see is completely no bars in my signal bar. I can't dial or receive calls, I can't use emergency calls, but it does pickup my network as Vodafone NZ. Any ideas?
Update:
Switching to 2G, 3G and LTE doesn't do anything, still no signals. Also, looks like the Network Operators function is irrelevant to your SIM card. Unplugged my SIM and it was still able to scan for it.
I suggest you to try kitkat modem on lollipop os. I know someone has the same problem with you .I dont know why but some OPOs does not work with lollipop modems.

Do you get to see your IMEI No.?
Yes, I do see my IMEI. Have tried all the solutions there are.......flashed oxygenOS, colorOS and imei is still there. I can see there's signal under About -> Status, but no network (unknown). My wifi works fine, just no phone signal.
My sim card is fine, tried on other phones and it works. Tried several sim cards in my OnePlus and they all fail. Wasn't like this last week, dunno what happened.
I think maybe my IMEI is blocked? I called my carrier and they said it's not. Will i need to contact OnePlus (my phone is the chinese version) to get this resolved?
Same problem. No reason. Just started happening last week...
I tried another network and it worked though.
Exactly the same problem here. It first happened when I traveled to Japan and inserted a Japanese SIM card, nothing worked, so I thought it's because of the strict radio regulations in Japan....now I'm in Ireland, popped a 3 Mobile sim card in, still not working.....God I would never buy a OnePlus product again....first the touch screen failed, now the modem......biggest mistake taking it travelling with me....
@chaoscreater @dahole @victorinoxs I have your same problem
IMEI, Baseband and WiFi are OK but no signal and status network unknown

I've got same problem after i forgot to connect antenna cable near the battery that comes from bottom board to main board. I've seen networks, but i were unable to use my phone inside any building

I am having the very same problem and, once I opened the One up I found the connector was disconnected.
But ... how to connect it back? It looks like it's a very difficult task to be accomplished!!!
SOLVED!
You can gently pull the pig tail cabletowards the center of the battery compartment, you connect it then push the cable back in.
The small narrow cable compartment that's on the side has a "soft curtain to keep the cablew in place. Be careful to put everything back in place properly.

Antenna goes to bottom board near battery under rubber cover that you can unstick, connect and stick back. Just disconnect battery and pull antenna to the side of power button until you will be able to connect

Yup! I "discovered" it shortly before you answered. And it worked indeed!!!
Same network issues !!
Hello everyone !!!
I'm new here and so dont know much how stuff works here. Hope to learn pretty soon
The thing is, I'm having similar problem with my OPO. I get only 4G network, no other network (2g/3g) gets connected. When on 4G, network randomly drops and connects, and when connected I can use internet, but just cannot make/recieve any calls. I have flashed many custom ROM's but to no avail. Finally after getting nowhere near solution, I stopped trying and currently I'm using Lineage OS (ver 14.1.20171001-NIGHTLY-bacon).
Drmuruga posted a link with CM13 modem zips, will flashing the CM 13 modem file work in my case ? If yes, there are two files on the link you provided, which one should I use ?

Firmware can be a game player for sure. You can use modem from cm13(any of them, the first one is from snapshot builds).Infact, have a look at: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/firmware-modem-oneplus-one-t3462214
Which carrier are you on?
I am on Airtel (only 4g). I've tried using docomo as it is my secondary sim, but it never connects since it works on 3g network.
I've tried a couple of those from the list, but failed. Anyway, I'm gonna try the rest.
Does TWRP version matters ? I'm using 3.1.1-0.

Yeah I tried through that long before, but as soon as I set it on wcdma (only/preferred), there isn't any network (emergency mode only).
I've tried almost all firmwares from the link you provided using TWRP, but no luck. Maybe my card slot must have some hardware problem. Just to give it one last try, can you tell how I can Install those firmwares via ADB fastboot ?

Galaxy s7 wifi issue. Connected but not online

Hello all. I have a asus rt-ac66u router set up trough my suppliers box wich is put in bridge and dhcp off so my asus handles everything. My asus us setup trough ppp0e. All other devices works fine even a s6. But my s7 connects and works for a while then dies. I can't even connect to the router. 192.168.1.1.
I've tried to remove all stored net so now I only have 2. I've tried to set ip in phone into static. No success. If I turn wifi off and on sometimes it will give me net, but it dies after some time.
I have an ac56u, no issues at all.
Using Asus official firmware, latest Merlin has some problems. Used to drop my g4 connection often, after I switched to Asus firmware everything was and it's still OK.

I'm using merlin, but the thing is that this phone is the only one struggling so I doubt it's the router. But off course I can always try official firmwire again.
Now I have factory reset my router and installed factory firmware. Forgotten all networks on phone. Still same issue. The strange thing is that after all this my phone gets the same ip as before everything. Ends on 53. Any ideas?
Have this issue to. Changed my first S7 for a new one because of this. Same problem with my second one. Have a Asus rt 87u or something like this. Latest update on the router and no mods.
I'm from Sweden and have read about this issue in Swedish forums as well. Hopefully there will be a bug fix from Samsung or Asus

Sorry to hear this, I have no issues with mine, using automatic channel settings, wpa2 personal.
You can try to use a fixed channel
I even use the same ssid and pass for both 2.4 and 5ghz, this way when I'm out of 5ghz range it switches me on 2.4ghz band, and back to 5ghz when I enter the range.
Edit
Actually I use fixed channel, 48, not auto, I checked now.

I've done the drastic step to factory reset the phone and set it up manually. Not from what is saved on Google. Did this yesterday and it works for now. It's a pain to do but. I'll post here if it stops working. For now it works. The strange thing is that I reset my router at the same time but it still gives me a ip ending on 53 hehe.

I have the exact problem (galaxy s7 with asus rt-ac66u router). I tried updating the firmware on my router and doing a factory data reset on my galaxy s7 (along with manual recovery). I'm still having the same problem.
I tried contacting Samsung and they recommend that I bring the phone to service technician (after, of course, recommending the factory data reset)... Maybe this is just a hardware issue after all? Seems suspiciously related to the asus router though..
So far it's working.
I'll take it back. Problem appeared again. Didn't do anything and it started working again after 5 min or so.
Actually. I turned off Bluetooth and it works again? So In my case it's a Bluetooth issue.
I have the same issue. I have call Samsung and i do a factory reset. It's work great but when i turn on just one time the bluetooth (and turn off just after), this issue come back.
I have send my phone to Samsung one time and the technicien don't see this issue. The phone come back but the problem is always present. So i re-send my phone to Samsung.
I wait a call from the technicien to explain my problem and how reproduct this issue.
I don't think that the problem is the router, because i have test on an other and i have the same issue.
And my Galaxy S3 (cyanogen), Galaxy tab pro, Lenovo A7-10 works great on the same network !
PS : Bad english = french speaker :silly:

This seems like it's clearly either a Android 6 or a Galaxy S7 problem. Either way I think Samsung needs to find a solution fast. I'm in the process of returning mine on the chance it's a hardware issue. I don't really expect that to fix the problem though.
Today i changed my phone, this is my number 3. Right away after setup I got an upgrade of 70 mb. It will be interesting to see if I have the same issues with this one. Y earlier 2 had WiFi issues and battery drain when connected to WiFi.

This seems like it's clearly either a Android 6 or a Galaxy S7 problem. Either way I think Samsung needs to find a solution fast. I'm in the process of returning mine on the chance it's a hardware issue. I don't really expect that to fix the problem though.

Update:
I was combining my 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands into 1 SSID on my router when I experienced the problem. I separated the bands into their own unique SSIDs on my router and I was able to stay connected to my 2.4GHz network for 3 days and running (no issues).
I haven't gone back to see if I can connect to my 5GHz SSID yet so right now the problem is either hardware related to 5GHz or with Android 6/Galaxy S7 and combining SSID.

I have receive my S7 but nothing change. The technicien don't call me and do nothing on the phone.
But for the bluetooth, isn't the cause. I have start my phone when i receive and i download a big game. The wifi's issue come back and i don't use the bluetooh. Wrong way ! Sorry.
I test the encryption key (WPA (TKIP) : issue , WPA(TKIP+AES) seems works better).
Samsung pushed an update yesterday. Everything has been working fine since. I'll post if anything changes. Still android 6.01 so I'm not shure what's new.

G930W8 Rebooting several times a day

I have a G930W8 that was supposedly brand new, running stock 7.0 with TWRP and SuperSU. It reboots 1-3 times a day at random times while I'm not using the phone.
I've factory reset it and only loaded a few apps on it, cleared davlik and cache, reloaded the stock rom from odin - it is still happening. Does anyone have any tips on how to diagnose? I've tried looking through the last_kmsg files but I can't make much sense out o them - should they be able to identify the cause for the crashing? I'm trying to determine if it's a hardware issue or something else.
I did have over 40k sms / mms messages on there that I'm clearing out now, would that cause spontaneous reboots?
Thanks for any help.

40k SMS could cause problems, but you said you factory reset, that would have cleared them

Thanks. I reloaded them after the reset with a backup and restore app. I changed the setting to only keep 1k messages on there now and will monitor.
Hopefully that was the issue, but really wondering if I will be able to make sense of the last_kmsg logs at all.
If the smaller quantity of messages on there doesn't resolve the issue, I'll try runnning it without an sdcard for a day. I initially suspected a problem with the sdcard, formatted it since - formatting did not resolve the issue.
Am I looking in the right spot? Since clearing out my sms messages, it still crashes on me every few hours. I pulled the last two kmsg files from the last two reboots. Is there anyone that can let me know if I'm looking at the right files to diagnose?
Is this area of the file telling me anything useful?

UPDATE:
I left the country for 8 days and was using a Costa Rica SIM card (and various different wifi connections) - the phone did not reboot a single time in 8 days.
On my first day back home, after putting my AT&T SIM card back in (this is a new card that I just got a few weeks ago from AT&T), and being connected to my home wifi - it has started spontaneously rebooting again. I've reset the network connections, it has not helped.
I'm torn between whether I got a bad SIM card that could be causing the reboots, or if it is something wrong with the wifi and my home network, or a combination of both. Many of the reboots seem to occur when I switch from LTE to wifi. It is a very difficult issue to reproduce.
Any suggestions on how to isolate the issue, any settings to check, or if it sounds like a radio or hardware issue?
Thanks.

Yea, disable WiFi for another week, if it stops, it's the wifi, if it still crashes it's the SIM
Thanks. It just crashed again with wifi turned off, so that rules out that.
So it seems likely either a bad SIM, or the phone is having issues with the LTE network. I notice the network switches from LTE to LTE+ often.
It would be odd if it is a bad SIM as it is only a few weeks old, but I'll swap it out with AT&T.
Knowing that wifi is not an issue, any other suggestions other than a bad SIM? I'm also wondering if maybe the sim tray does not hold the hard well and it's loose.
Thanks for the support.

Just keep with your elimination technique, looks like you're almost down to the cause, be it SIM or LTE/+
Switch SIMs, if it doesn't crash when switching between LTE and + then ask your carrier for a new SIM
Couldn't a log file of some sort be run to trap/identify the app and error?
ok i had this problem when buy my s7 10 months ago with stock firmware. all ways reset/on/off/clear cach/format....noting useful so i tried to update but no new update so i force to download whole new firmware with another csc from another region( i downloaded rom of UK) and flashed to phone with Odin. and Wow problem is gone....finish...end .
maybe useful for u.

Question Signal problem only resolving after a restart

im facing a problem, i use 2 sim cards so whenever im in an area of bad coverage i completely lose the signal, the problem is when i went to a good coverage area, the signal is staying dead till i restart my phone. Airplane mode does nothing only restarting or if im just using one sim card (which is not an option unfortunately)
did you try to check the " Automatically select network " under mobile networks in the settings app ?
try to turn it on , or try to select your network manually

did you check if the problems happens when only ONE sim is installed?
are BOTH simcards of new generation? (I don't mean to support 5G but to be manufactured the same period).
It's useless to use simcard that is more than 5 years old. They cannot communicate with all new signal standards.

it works fine if i just have one sim card
yes they are ( one is like 2 years old and the other is ~3 years )
Does it make a difference if you use Sim card A or B when using only one sim card or do both of them run like a charm in single mode? Did you try to combinate sim a or b with a totally different simcard (from a fiend for example, or change the ports for A/B) ... did it ever function in the now used/wanted combination? Sorry for my bad english...

What is your OS system? MIUI or custom ROMs?
Does the signal comes back if you change "Preferred network type" ? Like switching to 2G only, wait for 30 seconds, then prefer 3G, wait for 30 seconds, then prefer LTE/4G ?

If you are in MIUI, you can also try forcing 2G only, 3G only LTE only as in following Xiaomi forum
https://c.mi.com/thread-2683781-1-0.html
This does not solve the problem, only some workaround to try to make your signal back without rebooting.
To solve the problem, report to Xiaomi or Poco. Or ask in the custom ROM thread if you are using custom ROMs.
try to check your network maybe they having their maintenance or you can use another sim if you have to check if it's still the same.
