Same problem here. Are you installing from CWM?

(Q) Is the official CWM Recovery 6.0.4.4 working for anyone?

Hello everyone,
I tried installing a custom ROM on the Nexus 5 for the first time last night. (Note: I've installed ROM's for years on different phones.)
It seems as though there is a problem with the official CWM recovery 6.0.4.4.
I found that wiping data/factory reset and formatting system did not actually get the phone ready for a custom ROM.
After doing this and installing the custom ROM, all my APPS and settings were still installed. Android went through the process of "Upgrading Apps" instead of walking we through a new install.
Thanks!
Greg

[Q] Installing Alien ROM problems

Hi I'm trying to install a custom ROM but I've came up with a slight problem.
You see the recovery I'm using {http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/development/tipo-clockworkmod-t2003069/] states that if you format the /system partition before the ROM install the CWM will also be removed and the Alien ROM clearly states to wipe /system... So what do I do?
Should I wipe it or try and install without the wipe?
EDIT:
Also how do I make sure it's compatible? (Dont want to brick my device three times in one day)
Done and dusted :d awesome rom just follow instructions nothing hjappens

[Completed] [Q] setup wizard stops lg e975

Hi there,
I can't get lollipop to run on my lg e975. The installation works fine but the setup wizard always stops.
For the same problem on other phones some guys suggest that it's because your using the wrong gapps or that you have to format system before installing a custom rom but in my case none of these two hints worked.
I've trieded seven different lollipop gapps (including the 20141119 signed gapps that some guys recommended) and i have tried installing cm12 and mokee with and without formatting system before the installation.
The error is some null pointer java.lang.Object
I had installed the official kitkat firmware with towelroot and freegee and i have tried twrp and cwm recovery. Nothing worked. How can i solve this problem?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. It's most likely incompatible gapps causing your problem. The gapps that were recommended to you are quite old, perhaps try Banks gapps (I can't provide external links but if you search for Banks gapps in Google it should come up as the first result). Another thing to note, you should always perform a full wipe before flashing a new ROM, a full wipe consists of system, data, cache, and dalvik cache. If you're not doing this, that could be another reason for your issue.

I accidentally wipe all the data(in TWRP mode) including the system.
All has wiped out. When I tried to flash new stock rom,it failed.I have used 6 different roms already.
What should I do next?

Bootloop after trying flashing kernel

Hi guys. Last days I decided to try out some custom kernel with my MIUI ROM. I installed Genom kernel after having some problems installing the wrong AOSP version, but finally found the MIUI version on Telegram. When I tried to restore my backup (stock kernel) with Pitch-Black recovery, I noticed that Wifi and Bluetooth weren't working, flashing original firware fixed bluetooth but no wifi, then I had to go back to Genom kernel. Today I found a supposed MIUI stock kernel in the Genom kernel thread, but after flashing it I have bootloop. I can't wipe data, because I installed the Pitch-Black recovery from a different way, without mounting data (I didn't want to lost my data), I installed root from external storage, now I see it was a bad idea. The only thing that lasts is to install the full MIUI ROM again, but I just found the MIUI 10.3.2 for download, my device was running 10.3.3, and I'm afraid I can't install it or it to not work. Can someone give me a solution?
EDIT: I managed to wipe the Data, now I have access to internal storage, but I also wiped the system partition, so now I have no system installed. If I reboot my phone it will brick?
Tried to download the MIUI 10.3.2 firware from Xiaomi site, it has 2.5GB, but the download always fails at 2GB. I tried to install Pixel Experience ROM and Havoc-OS, both give me "Updater process ended with ERROR 7". I don't know what to do, my phone is unusable.
