I will be maintaining Moto X for SlimRoms. Will be considered unofficial till after we hit stable which is very soon as we don't want to break anything with the stuff that we have to push to get all devices working.

Your the man, loved slimbean on my evo 3d , I'll probably love it more on my lenoto x

Yes I love this Rom
Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk

I assume this lacks the moto x stock features (active display, touchless control, etc.), right? Or am I mistaken?

Ok not to be picky but LCD density is set at 245, superuser issue, we're going to have sound issues, so flash sound fix I posted in cm, gummy ROM threads but its looking very promising, question I really love inverted apps but dark slim only inverts some apps but not play store and gmail and I don't see theme choser, any chance of getting all apps inverted without downloading team blacks apps?
Nice work and looking forward to the official release

Yah I know,
Darkspadez, dhacker has all the fixes for YouTube, superuser and almost all the issues except the sound. All cm based ROMs have a quirk with the sound. I have a partial sound fix in development threads for cm11, gummy and liquid. I don't know if its any help

Thank you, I'm starting to love all the support we are getting now

Does this ROM support phones with locked bootloaders?

Well done man!

Can't seem to find theme chooser in the ROM is it missing and if so will it be eventually added?

I have some visual problem with this apk: it seems the app is showing articles and images larger than screen and not centered (sometime a portion of screen is black). While sliding for chenge news in landscape mode, I can see the rest of the content and the black portion is filled, but if I'm in portrait, there is no up-down scroll to let me see the bottom of the content.
I'm on a Samsung I9000 running last build of ICS by teamhacksung, but I don't think it's a problem (this is the only app that have such a problem).
Am I the only one with this problem?
I'm having the same problem: it seems the app is showing articles and images larger than screen and not centered. I'm using a nexus s 4.0.3.
All you have to do is change the font size. Mine was medium, when I changed to big in the settings the problem was solved.

CM10...
If you like a stable, smooth experience, then CM10 is for you. If you like unlimited customizations and pink, sparkly unicorns all over your phone, the AOKP is the way to go. If you enjoy using a tablet interface on a screen much too small for it, then Paranoid is your answer. I myself prefer CM10 but your opinion may differ
i will reply to this question the way i reply to all of them
try them on your on, there are not that many. every ones opinion varies anyway
this is why you rooted or will root--to experiment--
sorry for being a dork about it just my opinion--

Is there any AOSP 4.1 rom out there with wifi tethering working on black screen?
That would definitely be my favorite one, tried a few, went back to 4.0.4 cause of tethering!
For speed and battery life, I would recommend baked black bean, and then add the CPU editor init.d. script and set it to battery and performance. By far the most responsive and least battery drain.
I also use the justunbean inverted gapps. Just tryina squeeze all the battery I can out of this lol

As long as you're using baseband 1.06 it works perfectly. If you want to use 1.08, changing the build.prop works, you can find the edited values in the aokp thread in the op.
If that doesn't work you can use this

[Q] Not sure where to post this - re, ParanoidAndroid Rom

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this, but I figured it was best as this is a Q/A/help type of question. I have a vzw gs3, and played with a couple of roms a while back, but ended up going back to stock. Lately I've been reading about PA, and would like to try it out, but I'm confused as to what I need to download. If I click on the 'ROMS' link above, then I see a post that leads to alpha and beta versions of PA, but if I go into the 'Original Android Development' sub forum, I see a completely different set of options. So, which is the right one to use? Does anyone know how battery life is on an AOSP rom vs. stock?
Thanks,

How's the battery life? currently on stock and if i'm not at work, i can get almost 2 days between charges. On a normal day, I unplug at 6:30am and by 10:30pm am usually around 35-45%.
I wasn't a fan of AOKP; how much of that is integrated into it?
Thanks,

Its basically a lot of the tweaks from AOKP, and the tweaks from PA all built on cm. Its a lot, but in a way that's not like "oh this is just AOKP with hybrid"

Yes, that is a benefit of being rooted. I do tend to have issues when going back to my nandroid - I have to re-setup switftkey and a few other apps. It's odd, but not a big deal. I did try them both over the weekend, and I liked PA better than PAC, but had issues with both that made me go back to stock for now. Some things were functionality issues - the AOSP calendar doesn't show the event when on month view, I couldn't get my custom notification sounds to work or my alarm sound (this is a biggie as I use my phone to wake me up every morning, and I've found that I tend to sleep through most alarm sounds, but have the Piezzo alarm sound from my droid x and that wakes me up right away).
Any suggestions on what I could try? I really liked how fast my phone was after having flashed to something else, but the calendar, alarm sound and notification sounds are a necessity for me. I also had issues with adding my work email to it as well - I could add the account, but it would never download my email, nor sync my calendar - also deal breakers for me.
Thanks

[Q] Which 4.3 rom are you on?

I am wondering for those who have tried any of the 4.3 rom what has been your experience? what are the major issues you found? what are the features you like best? and lastly, which 4.3 rom you would recommend trying?
Thanks.
Cm 10.2 night lies. Camera works fine now and so does recording. Focal is still bugged. Signal is weak compared to TW.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Im running PA 4.3 3.99 newest build (Link in my sig). Great Dev support and the rom runs fantastic. AOSP is so smooth and the battery life is improved. Its easily a DD. I never thought i'd run an AOSP rom but now I can't go back. The main features I love are the Quick Reply messaging, halo, and all the customization options.
The camera can be a little wonky once in a while, mainly the FFC, but I run the modded AOSP camera with HDR and ext storage with no issues. I read ppl having issues with blue tooth while listening to music but I never use blue tooth so I can't comment on that. Samsung just announced that 4.3 will be coming to the S3 but we havent even gotten 4.2 so I wouldnt hold ur breath.
Check it out for yourself you wont be disappointed.

I thought that too about the signal being weaker but I think its just the way the Rom displays the signal and not the strength itself. It was the first thing I noticed running AOSP for the first time but I have no issues making calls, sending SMS/MMS, or data.
^^
Agree with this guy pa 3.99 is stable for me and the focal camera still has some bugs but it's nice tho and I'm coming from MOAR ROM and I've got to say AOSP is much quicker than touchwiz and I like the HALO
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I am sorry but this is just a "What's the best 4.3 ROM" thread
Best ROM threads are not allowed on XDA .
XDA is a development site, not a support site. members are expected to read about the software they are going to drastically alter their $700 device with and make a decision based on their own preferences not others' opinions. There is no BEST as it depends on preference, use, setup, apps, signal, and phone.
Thank you for your understanding

Yes, transparent is present.
I'm liking it so far with the exception of the new dialer.
Does anyone know if it is possible to force the dialpad to always be visible?
Or even default to visible... I don't really like having to press the phone icon, then press the keypad icon to start dialing.

I was a bit disappointed until I sideloaded the official GEL, and now it's everything I wanted KitKat to be. My only gripe is that Motorola stripped the business number search function from the dialer. I have no idea why they would do this, but it's the feature I likely would have used the most from KitKat.

You don't need an alternate launcher -- you just need the GEL that was supposed to come with KitKat. For whatever reason, the official Moto G release of KitKat has the new Google Experience Launcher stripped away. There is a download link under the Apps section on this forum to sidelide the GEL. You don't need to be rooted. and you don't have to flash it -- just install it as a normal apk.
