Does this unlocked LG G2 from Expansys work with AT&T LTE? - AT&T LG G2

Please help me check out this http://www.expansys-usa.com/lg-g2-smartphone-32gb-black-unlocked-255286/? I'm looking to get it to use with AT&T. The specs doesn't talk about AT&T nor LTE. $499.99 is a great price if it can work with AT&T LTE. Thanks

It says D802 right on the page, so use that to see how it'll work on ATT.

Don't think D802 will work well on AT&T.. Doesn't have the 700MHz frequency which is the main LTE one on AT&T.. Should have no issues at all on T Mobile LTE..

If you aren't hung up on new, check out your local craigslist for a Verizon branded G2. They are usually listed pretty cheap where I am at (in the $225-325 range on average in excellent condition). They are unlocked, you can flash AT&T firmware on it, LTE works and best of all it has wireless charging built in as a bonus. I have been very happy with mine.

It says under Technical Details:
Network: 4G: 800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz / 3G: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz / GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
So on AT&T you'll get 3G only. It's missing the 700 (primarily) and 1700 MHz (a few markets) bands for 4G.
On T-Mobile you'd get 2G and 3G only where T-Mobile has refarmed the 1700 MHz spectrum for LTE and moved the 3G to 1900 MHz.

I have a Net10 sim which runs on the AT&T network and I have HSPA+ only, no LTE, which is good enough for me

Of course I know what the thread is, but perhaps mentioning you were using the same phone would have been good. Just mentioning using a different MNVO made it sound like you were just using Net10, not necessarily the same phone.
My bad..

Anyone using Captivate on T-Mobile USA?

I like the Captivate better than the Vibrant. Will it allow me to use 3G on the T-Mobile network?
I believe you would only get edge on at&t.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Technically it's the same type of network...
no, only EDGE. They have different 3G bands.
T-Mobile = 1700 MHz
ATT = 850 and 1900 MHz
we can use captivate in china with unicom
I have a Captivate on Tmobile.
Can confirm it's only Edge
I always snicker when I see these threads. T-Mo GSM =/= AT&T GSM. Yes there are common frequencies that all GSM phones use, but each carrier always has their own 3G frequency. None are shared.
While yes there are different GSM bands and yes T-mobile uses different GSM bands than AT&T, mostly all phones are quadband GSM nowadays and thus support but AT&T and T-mobile's GSM network. Even US triband GSM phones still has both AT&T and T-mobile's bands.
3G is where is it different. Not all phones support both T-mobiles and AT&T's 3g bands. Very few actually do. The Samsung Vibrant (another Galaxy S phone) supports T-mobile's 3G bands and can be changed in the service mode to support AT&T's 3G as well.
The Captivate is not the same. The Captivate can only support AT&T's 3G network and not T-mobile's 3G network. It will work on T-mobile's EDGE network.

No they have a different bands for 3g, just because they use Sim cards doesnt mean it can run 3g on both networks

Your wrong, the captivate is AT&T so you can 3G with AT&T and only Edge with tmobile
I'm also using the captivate on T-Mobile but can confirm that it's only on edge.
same situation with the nexus one. cant interchange or you can only get Edge
niceties of 3G

I just bought a Motorola Cliq (MB200). In Dominican Republic there are only 2 companies with 3G service. Claro Codetel (850Mhz) and Orange Dominicana (900Mhz)
Claro Codetel sells the Motorola Cliq for 3G usage on their network, branded to them of course.
The Cliq I bought is T-Mobile branded.
Is there ANY known way to debrand and have access to the 850 band for 3G?
I ask this question because I saw how it can be done on the Motorola Defy with a service flash found here, so I believe it should also be possible with my Moto Cliq.
I would really appreciate any input on this subject.

Sorry, only did it because there were talks about other makes. I didn't realise it was a "Galaxy S Only" thread.

I can get HSPDA over here in Malaysia.
Actually, both T-Mobile and AT&T phones work here. (2100Mhz 3G band)

Is EDGE service bad? the reason I ask is that I'm planning a trip from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, and going to be drive through the states. Cheaper Gas/Food/Lodging. you get the picture. I have a Captivate from Rogers which is unlocked and was thinking about getting a T-Mobile SIM card to use the Day Pass unlimited internet. However I don't understand what edge means and if this is a good thing or not. LOL
Thanks
Well at&t just bought t-mobile so maybe there will be a combining of signals?

They haven't bought, they are attempting to buy.
DOJ and FCC still have to approve it.
@OP
No, the Captivate was designed to only be supported for AT&T 3G. It does have the 2100 band, which T-Mobile 3G uses, but T-Mobile uses both 1700/2100 for upload/download, so if you don't have both, it locks you into 3G.
Anyone tried to flash a Phone with 1700 enabled?

No 3G or 4G connection

I have just 2G speed (checked by speedtest) with my Atrix 2!
As you know switcher 2G/3G is disabled on our phone!
I certainly have 3G on my account, I checked my SIM card with other phone and other SIM card with Atrix 2 and got just E icon (2G).
Any ideas???
did u check ur service provider does support the A2 3g frequency??? you need 850 / 1900 / 2100 either one of them to get 3g or 4g Speed.

I use USA T-Mobile.
So does it mean that AT&T Phones don't support 3G or 4G T-Mobile Internet even if unlocked?
From what I remember from the ATRIX forums is they use the same frequencies but with a AT&T phone on T-Mobile u will only have Edge or 2G speeds. No 3G or Hspa+

If I root phone will I get 3G?
yup, as far as u know Tmobile USA only support 1700 but atrix 2 doesn't support that so you wont get 3g from it.
Also you wont get 3g even u root it, root doesn't do anything with the hardware.

It is said that tmobile supports 1700/2100 Mhz for 3G in wiki and Atrix 2 supports 2100 Mhz.
I think that's 2100 MHz is not the real 2100 band. It means 1700 download and 2100 upload. For more information, i think it is better to ask those peoples who are using tmobile usa.
I haven't run across any AT&T phone so far that works with T-mobile on anything but EDGE.
I think the galaxy s2 can. Someone has 3g ln there T-Mobile gs2. And they get better speeds lol

T-Mobile uses 1700Mhz/2100Mhz for UMTS/HSPA.
Like AT&T, they have 4 total bands for coverage, they do not use 1700 down and 2100 up. You pick either one. TMobile has a big disadvantage here, since with out a low frequency to carry hspa, they don't get any where close to the footprint per tower AT&T does.
Frankly TMobile is odd-man out in the US, and I am really surprised they have as many subscribers as they do.
All that said, my question is: How did you unlock an Atrix 2?

P6200 US 3G At&t or T-Mobile?

I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan and ordered the 6200 to work with GPRS out here, sadly enough that's the only reliable data connection available. I googled at&t and T-Mobile frequency bands but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at.
Could someone please let me know which carrier I'll be able to use this on with 3G when I return home next year? Thanks!
Sent from my E4GT using xda premium
As long as it is sim unlocked then it should (technically) work with either one on 3G since AT&T uses the 850/1900MHz frequency and T-Mobile uses the 1700/2100MHz. The model you have (P6200) is listed for 900/1900/2100MHz frequencies for 3G.
It will work on both of them under 2G for sure since it is quad-band GSM.

That's exactly what I'm confused about. If T-Mobile uses 1700/2100 does that mean the device only needs to support 2100 or both?

Will the T-mobile version work on AT&T?

The Tmobile version looks like it has the 850/1900 bands to work on ATT's network? Does it in practice?
I know one problem might be the micro sim card idk if att uses those at all. I guesse u could probably just cut a regular one

ATT uses micro sim, that's not an issue.
Frankly I find these LTE just getting to be ridiculously big. The HTC One S is the perfect size imo.
According to the FCC document for the t-mobile version, it's supports WCDMA 850 (ATT), 1700 (T-mobile) and 1900 (ATT,T-mobile). So I should fine on ATT's network as long as I put in the correct APN right?
Also looking for clarification on this...
It probably will, but it has to be unlocked and for that to happen, we need S-Off which could very well be a few months away. Why don't you buy the international, unlocked version outright? You also get your choice of colors (red/black as well instead of just blue/grey).
Wow, not a straight answer yet, YES and unlocked HTC One S will work on ATT 3G (1900mhz). No ATT LTE support. Contrary to above micro-sim is not a problem, att iphones use them and of course you can always cut it as well.

Ok so... the T-mobile version will work with AT&T... will the international version work any less? As far as I can tell they both use the same bands (with exception to AWS of course).. but I very well could be missing something.

I thought it had the 850 band for 3G only. I don't see any specs that say it has the 1900 band for 3G. This tells me it will only work in places that AT&T has 3G on the 850 band. Does ATT use 1900 at all for 3G?

ATT uses 1900, in some markets, ATT uses the mixture of both, 850 has better penetration in urban areas (tall buildings ...)
I'm interested in the phone, but i'm going to be using it on ATT. Can somebody that has the device tell us what is the FCC ID?
Quick trip to Phone Scoop website, i can see that there are two FCC ID's associated with the phone. NM8PJ40110 passed the tests using ATT WCDMA bands (band II 1900 and band V 850) and T-Mobile bands (band IV 1700/2100). NM8PJ40100 passed only ATT bands. Both doesn't show any reference to any test on WCDMA 2100 (band I), which probably means that the phone doesn't support the international 3G band.
In short, theoretically, the T-Mobile's version of HTC One S should work on ATT 3G bands (WCDMA band II and WCDMA band V), however, the phone would not support ATT LTE.
Since the hardware is there (FCC website proves it, unless if the official T-Mobile USA version got pushed with different FCC ID that i do not know), the phone should work on ATT 3G, but nothing prevents T-Mobile to disable the ATT 3G radios in their ROM. I think that S-OFF would give opportunity to enable the ATT radios (if they are blocked)
We will see ...
Take care,
From my experience, the ATT radio is not blocked and works fine.

[Q] AT&T LTE on Verizon model?

I used this same data in another thread, figured it might be useful here. Basically, you'd potentially restrict yourself a great deal by using a Verizon M8 on AT&T's network.
I think we need to know what’s theoretically possible with these phones first. Here is what the Verizon M8 has the ability to use:
3G (GSM): 850/900/1900/2100 MHz with HSPA+ up to 14.4 Mbps
LTE: 700/AWS/1800/2600 MHz
Click to collapse
Source: M8 spec page
As it currently stands, these are the 3G and LTE frequencies for AT&T:
3G: 850/1900 MHz up to 21 Mbps
LTE: 700/AWS/1900/2300 MHz
Click to collapse
Sources:
List of LTE networks - Wikipedia
AT&T Mobility - Wikipedia
What this means is that the Verizon M8 would only be able to use AT&T's 3G up to 14.4 Mbps and not the full 21 Mbps (probably not a big deal). However, for LTE, it could only access 700 MHz and AWS, so you'd be out of luck if you're in an area that only has 1900 or 2300 MHz.
Again, this is all theoretical since it’s not totally easy to get a carrier-specific model to run LTE on another network, but someone had luck getting a Verizon model to run on T-Mobile’s network: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2710720
