[ROM][PORT][IOAP][4.4.2] Kindle Fire HD 7"[Update 02/12/2014] - 7" Kindle Fire HD Android Development

WARNING: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS SOFTWARE OR ANYTHING I'VE WORKED ON SUDDENLY FRIES YOUR DEVICE. Your warranty is now likely void.
I have successfully ported IOAP to the Kindle Fire HD 7". In order for this to work your KFHD must already be rooted and have 2nd Bootloader & TWRP recovery installed. I used the Google Nexus (flo) version from Sourceforge to port and I couldn't have done it without the help of Prallday168.
I have not included any other mods or tweaks. Simply ported from one device to another.
Thanks to Hashcode for everything he has done with the KFHD, Prallday168 & South956 for their assistance and tips, MikeChops for motivating me, Jamison904, mrimp, all the Infamous Developers involved and everyone here.
Update 02/06/2014: I have made a 2nd PORT with Double Tap to Wake feature added. Everything else is the same. (CREDITS to jb2kred)
Update 02/12/2014: I have fixed the Bluetooth and changed the Boot Animation to "CMRingOfFire" by PartimusPrime, Also included the Double Tap 2 Wake, and the Xposed Framework Installer. Enjoy!

Thank you, I will look into fixing that.
Update: I flashed IOAP to my Samsung Galaxy S4 to see what the differences may be and if my issues were related to the ROM or my port and I found, the Galaxy S4 version is newer than this and it looks like they removed that option, all together. Som other things are taken out. I will have to wait for an update to (flo) before I can look into this more, I think but, maybe they removed it because they couldn't get it to function. Also, the Black UI is working on my phone so, I have to look into that more.

This rom is pretty fantastic so far despite the silly clown mask boot screen. Snappier and more responsive than Im used to from the latest cyanogen. I also recomend the Gapps with the custom font.

Honestly, if a mask is gonna stop you from trying an awesome ROM then your loss. This ROM has worked smoother than most and trust me I've been here since Kindle Fire HD start.

It's a great ROM and runs very smoothly on the KFHD 7. The masks are like the Infamous Developers logo. Like Cyanogen's "Andy". They make great ROMs. Plain and simple. Try it or don't, your choice.

But now I feel pedantic, so, downloading now

Great Rom, plain and simple.

Couple of quick issues. Any dpi other then 240 the side navigation bar disappears, and installing pretty downloaded apks, the install button is unclickable. Other then that great rom, lots of features, quick and snappy response times, and the Guy Fawkes masks sold it for me lol. Clean install coming from BsHarmony (great as well). Is anyone else having these issues?

In the build.prop, dpi is set to 213 which is standard for our tablets. I have not tried it at any other setting. As far as installing .apk's, I have had no issues. Have you gone into Settings -> Security and enabled "Unnown Sources" ?

PartimusPrime makes some great Bootanimations that you can easily use as a replacement to the mask, if you prefer. I like the "CMRingOfFire" especially for the KindleFire. The 800x800 download looks great. His second post on that thread tells you how to use it as a replacement.

Went back to 213 from 240 and navigation bar disappeared, unknown sources selected and verify apps test on setting and turned off. Selecting the apk, strolling till the word changes from next to install and it's not allowing me to click. Cancel button works but nothing else. I use ES Explorer, auto install to over come the issue and 240 isn't an issue much. (full screen quick settings sucks but oh well )

I don't know what you did or why you are at that point but, personally, I would go back into recovery and Wipe, rinse & repeat. I would just start over and reflash everything.

Is it me or is there no navigation in landscape mode and I don't see an option to enable it.

I honestly thought that was a problem on my end since when I restored I had gravitybox and xposer reinstalled, but I noticed the same problem as well
For your own custom Sig : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922304

Change your LCD to either 240 or 320 dpi. I had the navigation bar disappears before when in landscape mode and this solves it.
Edit: Did a clean install with your 2/6 update like you advised earlier in the post and didn't make a difference.

Hmm, ok. I'm waiting on the next update to be uploaded. Maybe that will fix the problem you are having. I know mrimp said he is working on many bugs. I'm not sure exactly what they are but, it is buggy. I can't seem to get a logcat, somehow I borked it or something. lol
And, the issue you were having with the installer was what I was referring to when I said to do a clean install. I am unsure about the navigation bar thing.

[ROM][2.3.7] LiGux (Coopoui) (R2.0 - 01/10/2012)

This is based on a rom by Kirin at diypda.com. It is based on Cyanogenmod7 with LiGux and Coopoui launcher. It's extremely lightweight, quick, and stable. My modifications are listed below.

Details:
This rom is basically a highly themed CM7.2. I give all credit to the developers of LiGux, Coopoui, CM, and the Heroc. It includes the expanded LiGux settings which allows a lot of customization. I'll expand on customization/options in the second post. It features "pop-up" notification power tweaks from the top right of the status bar.
Modifications:
Updated kernel to 2.6.35.14 (thanks to jaybob413 for his kernel work)
Removed Chinese from many, many various locations
Edited build.prop to remove unnecessary info and align it with current CM build.prop
Removed battery and memory tweaks from boot.img
Removed a few init tweaks
Modified updater-script to align with up-to-date CM standards
Changed available cpu freqs to standards in boot.img and framework
Edited eri.xml in framework-res to add Sprint
Replaced PinyinIME with LatinIME (keyboard)
Edited MMS settings in framework to remove Chinese carriers and align with CM settings
Edited apn settings in framework to align with CM
Fixed a few mis-translated words and a couple missing translations
Fixed text sizes in apps that were lost in translation
Fixed messaging menu force close with Kirin update
Updated included gapps
Updated Coopoui and LiGux to latest available versions (3.2)
Updated system files to latest from CM
Removed Chinese 'market crack' options (plan on removing this completely from settings)
Added 'missing' apks and removed Chinese apks
Fixed a few mistakes and a whole lotta little things.
Working:
Everything, as far as I know.
Issues:
No known issues.
Please let me know if you find something broken and I'll fix it.
Download:
LiGux (Coopoui) v3.2 R1 010712 Changelog: Original release
R1.1 010812 - Changelog: Removed stk.apk. Accidentally left it in the zip file. That's the only change.
R1.2 010812 - Changelog: Moved gmail from /system to /data so it can update without issue.
R2.0 011012 LiGux (Coopoui) - Download link MD5: 4423497adcbb97eff461222173a91471
Changelog:
SystemUI, framework, settings are all updated now.
SystemUI and settings are all compatible... no more settings force close
Completely new UI
Includes LiGux boot animation (I can provide the old one if you'd like it)
Edited LatinIME to match the gray-ish theme
Fixed Chinese "new" message icon
Removed some more Chinese
Changed some text to fit better
LiGux lockscreen (make sure you click it to allow it)
All credit goes to the Heroc developers who got the Hero to where it is today.
Thanks to Jurellz for originally bringing my attention to this rom.
All thanks goes to fat-tire for the fire he lit
Customization/Settings Info
There's many available settings to customize this rom.
Under "common" settings, make sure to go under "keyevent settings" > "End button behavior" and select "Go to sleep." These settings are what you would normally find in Spare Parts.
Lock Screen:
To activate the Coopoui Ring lockscreen, click the "OneKeyLock" app in the app drawer to allow permissions. Under "CM Settings" > "Lockscreen" > "Style Options" you can pick the style for the lockscreen and phone calls.
Status Bar:
Click the clock to bring up the "notification power widgets." These can be changed just like CM in "CM Settings" > "Notification Power Widget" > "Widget Buttons."
Pull down on the left side of the status bar for notifications!
Under "personal" > "system ui" you can enable weather on the lockscreen. This works! If the weather doesn't show, go into the "News and Weather App" and make sure it has your location and the current weather shown.
You can also center the clock under the "statusbar ui" settings.
Change apps in homescreen tray:
The first setting I looked to change was the apps in the tray on the homescreen.
Press Menu at the homescreen and go to "DeskSettings"
Select "dock settings"
From there, click each of the four DockButton settings to select the apps for the 4 slots in the tray.
Status Bar Transparency:
Under the "personal" tab on settings, you can enable transparency in the statusbar. Under "statusbar ui," click "statusbar background" > "color fill" and slide alpha all the way down.
App Transparency:
Under the "personal" tab on settings, you can enable transparency in app windows. Under "system ui," click "set window background" > "color fill" and slide alpha down. I recommend not sliding it all the way down so your apps at least have a dimmed background.
Here's a screenshot with some extreme settings:
There's many other settings to play with!
Boot Animation:
Here's the original boot animation... Flash this zip in recovery.

Awesome ROM. Running very smooth.

Been playing with this for the past few hours. Nice. It runs quick and smooth. Really like the launcher and loads of custom settings. So far everything has been working very well.
what nightly is this running off of? the actual 7.2 release? or the last nightly build before the buildbot broke? (or the best option, tip, cause someone grabs it nightly and does the build?)
I really liked the rom, few things i noticed though. Battery went down pretty quickly which was unusual. Long hold on the back button keeps killin app (tried disabling it but doesnt work) Its a cool feature but i kept closing apps by accident =( Messaging shows that chinese icon thing when u recieve a mssg (not a big deal though) Uh maybe for the toggle notification i'd prefer a different color to see which one is enabled, anyway i can manually change it? Other than those small issues, the ROM is really awesome! I appreciate ur work. Was nice and new =)

I noticed the battery run down quickly after loading the rom but the next charge seemed to hold better. But haven't used my phone much since. While sleeping it seems to drain about as quickly as any other rom. I will be making some calls and texting some today and will see how it does.

They are a different color. You'd have to decompile and recompile systemui.apk and change each icon. I can do it, but I'd like to fix these other issues first.
Thank you very much for the feedback! I appreciate it. I want to make this a very usable rom.

Ill try figure out what it says :/ and replace it... or just make a solid gray indicator! If you can translate or have an idea of what it says or you want it to say, let me know. I'm assuming it says "new." Ill probably go with a solid color.

Are you using RA recovery?
How are you wiping before you flash? If you're flashing over a current gingerbread build, uninstall gmail, then wipe cache and dalvik in recovery before flashing... but I think the problem may be that you're using RA recovery (based on what I've read online).

Great ROM (my daily now) ....observation on Market
Thanks for a snappy new rom! I've tried to let market auto update, but it doesn't it. I looked in system and I see the auto updater apk, but it doesn't auto update. Not a deal killer for me, just an fyi..... I also went into app management and wiped data and it still doesn't update to the latest Market.

uhm i was able to get the latest market, just gotta wait. Usually it will update when u use wifi so it can update faster. The icon wont change though but u can check market setting it will be the latest.
Oh and the message text probably says New text =P i say just turn it into a solid color.
As for the battery thing I'll probably just do a clean charge.
BTW I was able to send a mms and recieve just did it once though but it worked fast no problem downloading it too =) forgot to mention that.

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine JellyBean to make it all a useful addition and not just a cute novelty. we're calling it: Hybrid Mode, best of both worlds.

does anyone know the trick for making the secondary feature of the back button go away? in the pic, the down arrow is showing, as if I had the keyboard open with the option to minimize it. I have found that by going into my Wi-Fi connection and clicking on it, that the back icon is restored. however, once I lock the screen, it goes back to the secondary feature, the down button. I have tried changing settings, themes, I've shut the nav buttons off and rebooted, then restored, etc. nothing works.
Thanks for any help.

Ahhhh now I see. Are you nav buttons just set, what UI are you running? Mind giving me the settings your using so I can replicate it. Is it after a reboot before hardware KB is disabled
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using Tapatalk 2
I'm running phone ui w/ nav buttons, is all. this has been set before I disable the hwkb, but I've tried it the other way. I've tried almost everything I can think of. hopefully you'll be able to see what the issue is, as I'm sure a a log cat wouldn't declare the issue, since there's technically nothing wrong.
EDIT: never mind. I didn't have the hwkb disabled. I knew I had it working once before. that fixed it, strapped.
by the way everyone, don't forget - angry birds star wars is out today!

Can you replicate it on the spot? I just set my nav buttons on but I'm on tabletUI ( which shouldnt matter ) and I'll see if I can replicate it. My first thought was because the KB issue we seem to be plagued with, but the only real way to tell would be fix the KB issue ( mattlowry has ideas ). Or just see if it will happen to me before the KB issue is resolved and depending on how and when it happens it could be narrowed down.
But I do have to ask, was a full wipe performed before flashing? And was anything restored with Titanium Backup?

Yepp. I've been wanting tabletUI since kitkat came out, then when PA said they won't be implementing it, I got mad but understood why. With more knowledge and experience I hope I can implement it myself sometime. Theres not much info about it, but I read that Google stripped the tabletUI code from kitkat , wondering if we can just put the code back , then again its not as simple as that because I believe there's a couple more files to mess with that deal with that code.

tabletui needed to die because it was segmenting devices even further. keep one system ui and let apps chose their own layouts either tablet or phone. look at the playstore it has list options for displaying optimized for tablet or all apps.
PA doesn't need tabletui because with PIE and HALO you don't need it.
PIE and HALO can be optimized for various phone or tablet sizes.
what is nice is that with expanded desktop you can hide access to default softkey and/or notifications per your preference and use PIE with or without HALO.
the ability to hide the softkeys is also solution to the horrendous back button found in softkeys, i find myself using the in-app back button more often with softkeys hidden.
Agreed . Although PIE and HALO do make a good impression for tablet users, I personally liked the tabletUI because of the combination of status and Nav bar together at the bottom , it just looked awesome and not like a big phone per say lol but I do agree with why it had to die .

I think I found a problem. I can't seem to install apps manually. The "install" button when you select an apk isn't working. It can't be the tablet itself because apps install just fine on cm 11.

install fails
For some reason, I cannot get this ROM to install. I am coming from CM 10.1 Table UI, and I have wiped everything except internal memory, 2-3 times, and the install of this ROM fails each time.
I am running TWRP V2.6.3.0.
Some assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by myself. This is a build composed off of the CM10.1 builds and i have added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

We're unable to de-kexec roms above 4.2.2 due to the major file changes and higher kernel integration, so that makes it much harder to work without kexec.
I think I found a bug. After sending a MMS in Google Hangouts, it force closes, and whenever I try to open a thread, it continues to force close. Cleared hangouts data to fix this problem when it occurred.
Also, keyboard is unresponsive at times. For example, when I enter hangouts through ActiveDisplay, the keyboard pops up and i can press any button i want, but the letters are not inputted into the area i am trying to type to. Clearing the recent list seems to help so far.

thanks for the ROM.. just my personal thoughts..
First Impression : + quite stable, + lot of customization, + loving the active display (though A2 is not LED display like new MotoX which can be power saving ), + even like the Suspend Actions and Wakelock Blocker
Actual Impression: (yet to conclude.. mainly waiting for any non-compromising bugs and battery life)
Once again Thanks a lot !! :good:

About
CyanFox is a free, community built distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone and to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
This ROM was originally developed for Samsung Galaxy S2. I have successfully ported this ROM to Samsung Infuse with the help of CM 11.0 for Infuse 4G by scott.hart.bti.
I have been using this CyanFox Ported ROM on my Infuse for a while now, it is still working fine without any problems.

CREDITS
CyanFox team for developing this ROM Ofc.
And the most special thanks goes to scott.hart.bti for bringing CM 11 to Infuse 4G. Without the CM 11 ROM, I could not have ported this ROM. And without his help, we could have never received the KitKat update for our Infuses. Let's say that you guys MAYBE liked this ROM and MAYBE decided donate to the developer, than donate to Scott and CyanFox
I am not a developer or anything, I just understand this ROM concept a little so don't thank me or anything, all the thanks goes to them.

Wow, new ROM..............
Thanks a ton man......
you rocks..
Holy Unlikelyhood Batman.
Glad to see someone porting to the Infuse! Thanks so much to vinte007, scott.hart.bti, and the CyanFox team. Yeah, that's right, I'm thanking you even though you told me not to.
Downloading this now, can't wait to try it out :fingers-crossed:
Edit:
Just flashed the rom, running smoothly so far. Google Play services started updating as soon as I completed setup, at first it gave me a message that Google Play Services was not able to run on my device, but it seemed to figure itself out. This same thing has happened with other KK roms so it's not a big deal.
I'll make sure to let you know if I come across any bugs.
new ROM ^_^ gonna flash it and in a week or two i will give a detailed video review on this ROM of what works and what doesn't I'm rooting for this ROM ^_^

Yes it was made on January, I wrote on instructions that I've been using this ROM for a while. I made the Zip on January and been updating and fixing stuff till now (did not want to change the ZIP date because some apps are still not updated to last update). This ROM seems smooth and stable now, that is the reason I posted this ROM .
Thank you all for trying this ROM. I will keep on working on updates for this ROM. CyanFox team said that they are going to release their V3, I will try to port it too when it is released
And @bokonon9 Thanks :victory: let me know if you come across any other bugs.
very smooth rom! i realy like it....but....is there any way to insert russian letters in dialer?
UPD found one bug: change the battery icon style on icoon with percentage and after you turn the screen off and on the icon switch back to simple style

I don't know much about the Russian letters in the dialer, can you explain a little more about what you meant?
About the Percentage, It totally works fine with me. I used it with the percentage for some time, did not occur that problem. But, I will look into this and see what I come across with.
Till then can you try this:
Change back "Battery status style" to Icon Portrait or anything you want except "Icon with percentage" and then tick the "Show battery status perc.." tick box and see?
I appreciate to see another dev...
Is there a benefit to this ROM? I keep trying ones and going back to cm... I guess what I'm asking is what is different?
Thanks for a new option

I'll try this ROM. Hopefully, I get decent standby time. How much are you guys getting? With Beanstalk, the phone is dead from 100 within a couple of hours without use.

I mean, I choose Russian as main language of the OS, and when I open the dialer I saw only english letters on number buttons, so, I can't apply quick search in phone book, because all contacts are written on my native language.

If your battery is going down this fast, look to see what is using so much power.
You should be able to reboot in to recovery, clear cache and dalvik cache then reboot - problem should be resolved.

The two culprits were cell standby and android os. My infuse doesn't have a SIM so I just put it on airplane mode with Wifi on. My phone was apparently awake because of Android OS for close to 15 hours. Talk about wakelocks.
my review of the rom

the delay in waking up the display when a call, occurs also in this ROM, as well as in most ROMs JB?
Anyone tried art yet?

Art is what will replace dalvik. Check your dev options.
I am going to try it to see how it does. I was just feeling a bit lazy earlier.

Where it says "select runtime". Tap it and switch from dalvik to art. It will reboot and optimize all apps for art. That can take 5-10 minutes.
Still, I have not tried on this rom yet, so it may/may not work.
EDIT: Don't use art with the op listed gapps. They cannot support it. I will try some other gapps packages today that are known to be compatible with art.
