Been using NB for quite some time now. Not the prettiest browser, but clean, super fast, and dependable.

Gingerbread browser

Just wanted to point out how terrible it is. Had this phone for a few days now. . .
No home page option. Must go to windows and click the page.
No mobile view on and off option. So if a site doesn't have a mobile alternative we can't view the original. Or if we like the regular site more. Out of luck? Why would they scrap that option? Is there a way around this?

That's odd, I love Opera.
Actually, I hated it at first. But I have Opera Mini now and love it. I think it's the zooming.
Using dolphin for now. Just seems lame. The new browser is pretty disappointing.

+1 for Dolphin. Home button, true tabs, exit command, gestures, bookmarks...etc! Have been using Dolphin for months...love it!
I use Skyfire!
Here's a nice little article on Android browsers.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/206278/battle_of_the_android_browsers.html
Saves 75% of the bandwith of a Android browser.
I use opera mobile. Has hardware acceleration making it very smooth. Plus you can enable Turbo which speeds up webpage loading if you are on edge.

Double tap to zoom doesn't capture text

The double tap to zoom doesn't capture the text I want to read like my old droid x did anyone know what could be the problem? sucks it was very useful on my droid x and on the droid charge it barely zooms in at all

Are you talking about the browser? If so, download Dolphin HD from the Market because that browser is MILES ahead of the pile of crap stock browser. It also has the feature you're referring to.
I would recommend the opera mobile browser...by far the best of the half dozen out more browsers I have tried...takes a bit long on launching but the scrolling and menu bar are amazing

i have tried almost all the browser's there is in the market and i def. think dolphin browser is the best!
I haven't tried Opera but a lot of people say it's a nice browser and directly competes with Dolphin for the spot of best mobile browser Try them both.
+1 for Dolphin. Been using it since I had my Droid Eris.

[Tweak]Better CM7 Browsing

I was looking around to find something to improve the stock browser on CM7. It is really laggy for some reasons.
I found a solution in the Desire Z area. Download this patch and flash it in Recovery.
Here is a video of the patch in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DZnie3u0YI
Now the browser is smooth as butter, it is comparable to Opera smoothness. I think this is the best we can get for the moment.
Enjoy !
Credits to KnekKeR for the tip.
Wow thanks dude!
I know miui is already pretty damn smooth but would this work because I believe miui is cm7 based. Would be interesting to see what it does

Does it work on MIUI?
Latest MIUI has this feature built-in as far as I know. But you could try and report.

Good find.
But opera is better than stock anyway and can sync bookmarks to desktop.
And I know dolphin wins most android browser reviews.
How come u stick with stock browser?

Yeah, opera us better
I use the stock for quick browsing, fir example when I just want to quickly check something , it loads much faster ar the start up than opera.
But opera is better for all rounded browsing

For me nothing compares to stock browser. It loads pages faster, it's more intuitive than many other browsers and I got used to it. With this patch it's perfect... well almost. I only miss the pinch to switch through pages like stock sense browser.

Quickest browser?

Hi,
I'm fed up with Chrome browser on my Nexus S. Way too laggy for single core.
What is the best lightest, quickest browser for Nexus S now?
I have tried Dolphin but don't really like the layout. Prefer something minimal similar to Chrome but with no lag.
Is boat browser still going? I remember that from a few years ago.
Any recommendations appreciated.
I'm currently trying out Helly Bean FYI.
Cheers.

PS. Stock is the best one for me as well
Me Gusta!
I am a bit of a purist, and have used the stock browser more than anything else. I do like the smoothness of Opera and the quickness of Opera Mini, however Opera is so large, it can be slow, and Mini doesn't support flash. A few weeks ago, I tried Naked Browser, and it has become my daily driver. It's minimalistic, which I like, and quite quick. Only thing I don't like, and this minor, is the icon. So I simply change it to the stock browser icon (Holo HD launcher), and I'm good to go.
Firefox is the way to go.
i use opera mobile... what is the difference between mobile and mini?
dolphin browser beta, google chrome with gpu rendering active (flags) holo browser

Default
i found the default browser of Cyanogen/slim bean really fast ! Not only because of loading time, but also with the side-pie system !:good:
Try Naked Browser. It is very light and doesen't look fancy but it is by far the fastest i've ever tried.

That makes two of us! (Did you notice post #8?)
I'm using Opera Mobile. I found the stock browser was okay, but lacked something that I can't remember now. Mobile also supports Flash. I will give Naked a try though.

Sadly, i didn't!
Believe it or not, but i don't like the Naked Browser icon so i changed it to stock browser icon too.
I gave naked browser a go in the end but just didn't like it. Didn't seem any faster than stock to me and that address bar looked awful.
So it's stock for me. Seems to combine speed with slick functionality.

I'v been using One Browser. Not sure if it's faster than the Stock, but it's been doing a good job for me so far.
I remember Opera Mini been fast too.
opera mini & stok browser

Puffin browser

Ok, I'm not one to plug an app but how the Hell is this browser this fast? Long story short, I started researching browsers today because Chrome is just terrible. And there was an article by pocket now comparing the top ten browsers. puffing crushed everything. So I figured what the heck, and wow. If you've heard of this already then you know I'm talking about but if you haven't, try it out. Interface will take some getting used to but well worth it in my opinion

I'm on the latest update and have had zero issues. It could be there Android version or something but for me it's been running flawlessly. There's also some pretty cool plugins for reading. I'm already used to it and it's now my default browser. I've uninstalled everything else

I tried it, love the speed, but have interface...
Since I tested all browsers, even paid, but the best I found, and not ready to change it, it's Sleipnir browser ! He is awesome, flexible interface, fast, free

puffin browser....not that great but alright. starts off good then starts lagging...in my experience it did,but that was on cm11.
How do you think this compares too boat browser?
Is there an adblocker included in puffin browser?
Checked it, damn, it's lagging so much.
For me the best is Dolphin and then Chrome Beta (after changing some flags it's fast as hell, but meh - Flash Player..)
