Big wakelock I cannot find any information about, could someone help? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ever since I've got the Moto G I've had a mysterious wakelock called 'qcamera2factory'. I cannot find any information about it on Google and was wondering if anyone has the same wakelock or know where its from?

Yeah, It happens to me too, but..is this a real problem?
Battery average in the last 4 hours, wifi and 3G on, sync on, with 95% of this wakelock active in that time, is 1,5% per hour. Seems pretty good to me.

Maybe we should have a look at this:
https://android.googlesource.com/pl...-mr2.0-release/QCamera2/HAL/QCamera2Factory.h
Ask motorola via twitter if you can, seems they respond to bad news pretty quickly
Seems to be a logging issue, so if we delete the log, the wakelock should be gone, too.

For me it was caused by Snapchat - once I opened Snapchat the only way to stop qcamera2factory doing this was a restart.
I've removed Snapchat and in the four hours since qcamera2factory has only reached 0.3 s.

How do we delete the log and what implications will that have?

Have the same issue, see my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48566966&postcount=13
Any news on this yet?

See the other thread: uninstalling Skype + a reboot fixed it for me.

Device health application

All
Been lurking for quite a while now and have had the ATRIX 2 since the day after launch.
I pay pretty close attention to applications and their battery consumption. Today when checking I found that an app named device health application had been running. Does anyone know what this app is? Have google'd it. It didn't find any info.
Thanks!

Thats a good question
It showed that it used 77% of my battery yesterday. If anyone runs across the true name of the app I'd like to know so I can disable it through the package manager.

That's interesting. Its only used 3% of my battery today - so isn't a problem for me yet. However I have noticed of isn't responding to a force stop yet.

It's always been <10% batt usage for me until the other day when I noticed it was up around 15%. I selected it in the batt usage screen and it's battery usage appears to be GPS and not so much CPU. It had the GPS on for 25mins total that day. I find this a bit rediculous and decided to just freeze it with Ti Backup. It's now not contributing to CPU usage, and I don't notice the GPS symbol w/o firing an app that uses it. I also haven't noticed any ill effect yet, but I'd be interested in knowing what this thing does.
I suspect it's a moto app for collecting device stats to aid in trouble-shooting issues, but that's just a guess. I'm not a fan of apps out of my control just firing up GPS at their whim. and no, I'm not willing to go full manual and start GPS myself everytime an app needs to use it. My phone works for *me*, not the other way around.
that's interesting. I haven't seen it on my since the day I posted about it. Didn't notice it doing anything with the GPS. I keep mine turned off unless I need it. Will have to check that one out if I ever see it again.

Note Pro 12.2 LTE not going to sleep

Hi All,
Ive been having an issue with my P905. Android system is keeping awake all the time. Anyone else experiencing this? Any fix?
I've tried factory reset. It worked fine for a few days but its not sleeping anymore. I have two profiles set up, not sure if this could be an issue? I dont want to root due to warranty issues. Ive tried installing BetterBatteryStats but without root the guys cannot help.
I've tried reinstalling the official software without wiping but this did not help. All the apps I have installed on the tablet I have installed on my Note 3 as well, other that bloat.
Not sure what to do now. Please help.
Thanks

I had a similar problem, and digging around, found that the NY Times app was using up a huge amount of the battery, even though it was set to only update every 4 hours. I removed it from the Magazine UI page, and while I couldn't uninstall it, I did restore the app to the factory image and deleted its data/cache. That fixed it for me.

Update: I clear cache, data and uninstalled updates for NY Times. I disabled the app as well. Fully charged and restated the tab. Still no luck. Android system still kept awake all the time until now. Any other suggestions please?

This is so hard without being able to root the device.
Backing up, when you say it is kept awake, do you mean that it won't go into Deep Sleep, or the screen is actually staying on?
Assuming it's not a screen timeout issue, the places I looked were in the settings battery section - it shows what procs are using up the battery. I also checked settings for applications under running, looking at who was accumulating CPU, and also the System Panel app, which gives a different view into processes running.
What I would recommend is to charge the tablet up, then right before turning in, restart it (which will reset all the usage counters) and leave it that way overnight. Check first thing in the morning for what has been happening during the time it should have been in Deep Sleep.

Thanks a lot for your help, appreciated. The issue is deep sleep. Last night I charged and just before 100% I switched off and on again. Before restarting I disabled the NY Times app. Ive attached screen shots of the battery now. Hopefully you can see something that I've missed.

I'm not seeing any smoking guns there. If you're not seeing anything suspicious under Running in Apps Management or one of the other performance monitoring apps, you may have to just start uninstalling things and see if you can isolate it that way.
What does the battery chart look like, tap on that green/gray graph and take a screen shot. This reminds me of my LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1. LTE would consume battery like crazy sometimes, particularly when signal strength was marginal.

This is the current screen shot. Ive done a few tests and it seems Android system keeps awake even in flight mode. The entire weekend the tab has been at home and connected to wifi most of the time.
Thanks

try the greenify app?
last i remember the developer released a non root version but im not sure if your device is supported.
search playstore for "Greenify" and get the non root version
it hibernates most apps until you run them manually.. you could use this to possibly pin point the app that may be preventing sleep? hibernate all the apps you can and then remove on app from hibernation list and see which app is the culprit... each time removing it from hibernate and then putting it back or rather replacing it with another one so you can accurately see the effect of each app on sleep?

Update
I tried to greenify everything that I could. This did not help. I found that WakeLock Detector works on non-rooted devices via a PC version. I tried this and yesterday I think I found the cause. Seems com.sec.android.app.bluetoothtest is keeping awake for over a day. I dont have bluetooth switched on. I thried switching it on a left it on for a few hours but that did not help. Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks

[Q] Moto G Battery trouble, any help?

Hello.
I got my Moto G sometime in Feb and I've been having massive battery issues. One of the reasons I got the phone was because of a friend who runs his phone 2 days in a row on a single charge.
I have trouble making it last longer than 12.
The drain is 4.4-4.6% per hour according to GSam Battery Monitor.
Can't post screen-caps right now because I'm new to the forum.
Any help would be appreciated.
When I took it to the service centre the guy said I'm asking for too much from the phone and said all he can do at this point is re-install the OS and then if it doesn't get better he might consider replacing the battery.
GSam monitor also alerts me every time I unlock the device saying "100% awake while screen off."
You have an app that is misbehaving. Look through the ones you have added. Remove them one by one if you have to

The guy at the service centre did a fresh install. After which I've been closely monitoring all the apps.
And GSam Battery Monitor states that it's the android system that's using up most power.

BetterBatteryStats also says that bam_dmux_wakelock is keeping my phone awake most of the time.
Any idea what that might be?

battery drain, its a different problem?

Hey guys. I know there are a lot of these threads going about but mine seems to be a different case altogether.
I've rooted my device, installed better battery stats and wakelock detector. Neither show any kind of battery drain. And I'm unable to upload and screen shots because xda app keeps force closing when I do so.
I've also followed the guide to disable Google play services. Nothing has changed. I've had this issue on both 33r and 25r.
I do love this phone but I can't believe I traded my fully working xperia z2 for a phone that doesn't work properly
Anyone else having this issue?

Help! No push notifications for Facebook

So I've had this problem for a couple of months. It's not ROM related, it's not even device related. I get no push notifications from Facebook at all. The only thing I get every once in a while from Facebook is birthday and event reminders. (Notifications from a web browser still works).
I have a Nexus 6, but I also have this issue on my Note Edge, my iPad and my MacBook. I get zero push notifications from Facebook. I double checked all of my settings on all of my devices, and everything for notifications are set to on. I even went through and disabled platforms to purge out all of the external apps using my Facebook account (Instagram, Spotify ect). Nothing seems to be working. It's annoying and I can't seem to find any information on the issue.
Has anyone had a similar issue? At this point, any possible fix to remedy the situation I will take!
Thanks in advance!

I ended up reporting the problem to Facebook 2 separate times. After the second time I reported it, the problem was fixed. It seems to be an issue on their end that only they can take care of. It was nothing to do with the app or any of the settings. The second time they actually replied to my issue and labeled it as "Resolved". So report the problem to them and see what happens. It took a few days after I submitted the second request before it was actually resolved.
Yes I was going to similar problem But I solved my problem by changing the setting actually of my Facebook account. Actually I wanted to have notifications of every updates of my like Bulk SMS Provider's page but I didn't get so I go through with the settings and after changing this I start getting notifications.
