[MOD]Headphone and Speaker Volume Boost for the LG G2 - G2 Themes and Apps

[MOD]Headphone and Speaker Volume Boost for the LG G2
Headphone and Speaker Volume Boost mod for the LG G2
Hi Guys, with the help of audio god @ZeroInfinity I have created a mod that boosts the headphone and speaker volume on the LG G2
This mod should work with all LG G2 variants and ROMS inc. AOSP. It was tested and works on D802 on 4.2.2 .10C update correctly.
Enjoy
Benefits:
- Moves volume sweet spot to 50% vs. stock 80-90%
- Removes need for volume boosting apps that usually distort the audio
- Improved low end at optimal listening levels
Installation:
Simply download the desired file below and flash it in recovery.
Downloads:

Many thanks to @ZeroInfinity and @Drummerjed.
Huge thanks to @Rory Pettitt for no reason whatsoever
Disclaimer:
DO NOT USE additional volume boosting tweaks/applications with this mod.
Always check the volume level before playing music, I will not be held responsible for damaged speakers or hearing impairment!

Nice one bro

You rock brother! Look forward to trying this

WOW!! That is awesome!!
Flashing now!!
Thanks Bro!!!

Just flashed this mod.
AMAZING! I love you man, seriously.
I can't believe a software mod can release the beast in this phone's speaker, it sounds so loud and good without any distortion. How is this possible? Usually whenever I do a software mod to boost volume it distorts the speaker at higher volume, NONE with this. Absolutely incredible work.

I thought this was already available in the other thread :S? or is there an even higher gain compared to the ratio's the other mod used?

Speaker phone in call doesn't work now.

Yep, just tested on AOSPA 4.0 G2 Build 20131121.
Noticeable improvement in headphone output and when used as an auxiliary input with my car stereo.
Thanks @StarFighter

When you click the download link it will take you to a google drive page.
Click on File below the big Filename in upper left corner, a drop down menu shows up and from there click download :good:

I installed it and it made no difference in volume! I'm on PA's 4.4 rom.
Is there a revert-zip? I'd like to try other solutions.

Unbelievable... Google drive doesn't work on aosp browser or chrome on mobile site...?
This was all I was seeing and I couldn't click anything..
Thanks for this! Will give it a try on PA 4.0

BETA Version (1.61 whatever)
Speaker Phone:
Speaker Modifications: ON
EQ Settings: GOOD QUALITY
Volume Level: FIVE OR SIX
Bass Enhance: OFF
i ran it on cm7 made NO difference at all ... not a tinny bit :S
Works on CM7 here, stock kernel.
Just a question for you guys: have you come across a volume/equalizer app that works on a speakerphone call? I've gotten Volume+ and DSP Manager to work on everything except for when the phone is in speakerphone mode. I was hoping to reduce the "tinnyness" of callers with a treble reduction and midrange boost.
Can something similar be done with the headphone jack? I use it often to connect to my car stereo and even at max volume it's not very loud.
Well it seems to have solved MY problem, which was low volume on the ringtones - I was missing calls, with the phone in my pocket - beyond that, I didn't fiddle around with the settings.
Thanks much!
-Mike
should we restart after applying settings? i rely find no difference at all . som1 can explain me why?

I'm not sure it will work on all versions of cm.pa.aokp.aosp builds out there but try and see if it works for you.

Nice mod and works very well with PA.
I would recommend decreasing external speaker volume as its very risky and must be close to the limit as it is very distorted over 75% even with bass turned down .
Thanks.
:: Edit file 102 seems to work well no distortion on full volume only when bass ramped up

[Sound MOD] [MF9/MDL] BMSound_Full the deep bass works on Sprint SPH-L720

Even though I flashed this with NO ISSUES whatsoever, please, for the love of God and all that is holy in the Android universe: Make a backup before flashing this! I am not responsible for what you do to your phone.
That being said: Guys...I have found what could quite possibly be the best sound mod for our phones ever. :victory:
1) first go to noskojv's thread and thank HIM NOT ME! I didn't write this mod but when I find something awesome I feel the need to share.
2) next if you have CWM go here to flash it.
3) if you're like me and you have TWRP go here to flash it.
Basically fauxsound will increase your gain (loudness) and Beats EQ will "clean up" any distortion. Beats EQ alone will not make your speaker louder.
To access the screens you see attached:
For the Beats EQ/ Music FX menu from the home screen select menu >> settings >> my device >> sound >> music effects
For the Beats EQ preset menu simply open your app drawer and find the app called BeatsEQ
Enjoy my Sprint brothers! :victory:
I also included a screenshot of my fauxsound settings.
Note: faux123's kernel OR ktoosez's kernel (which I use) found here and fauxsound are REQUIRED for fauxsound to work. You may use Beats EQ without fauxsound but if your intent on using this mod is for a volume increase Beats EQ alone will not accomplish this.
****Fauxsound will not work with any other kernel.****
***Note: I'm pretty sure Beats EQ is for Touchwiz ROMs only!
Nice! Thanks for forwarding along. I'll try it later.

I do notice the difference more on my jbl bluetooth external speakers. there's more options like the strength of the eq setting and bass strength under the headphones and bluetooth tabs.
I think for Michael Bolton you'd love the 'R&B' setting the best. I listen to a lot of trip-hop and trance and it sounds great.

Ahh KT uses fauxsound. The link to download it from the market is in my OP.
I use fauxsound to increase my GAIN (make it louder) and essentially use this mod to reduce the distortion and the result is great sound. Even on the crappy speaker in the back of the phone.
Just embarrassed my friend with the HTC One. My speaker got WAY louder than his. And this makes my Beats headphones sound incredible
Ps. Used Fauxsound and Ktoonz kernel to increase speaker gain

Definetly a NO to this on.
Using a active speaker at work which resets its volume to a base volume everytime you enable it.
The speaker is on par with a Galaxy Note 1 which I have just retired.
I´d even say its louder....but possibly that is because of faux kernel....try this...
You can install this kernel...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=250965
Then install FauxSound from the PlayStore, you can up the speaker gain a decent amount. It's nothing drastic, but I've got it loud enough for me now.

Fauxsound needs an update. Faux123 should have it out shortly. It works fine except for the fact that settings are reverted to stock upon reboot. Little annoying but faux is great at keeping his kernels and a ops up to date and fully functional.

Fauxsound needs an update. Faux123 should have it out shortly. It works fine except for the fact that settings are reverted to stock upon reboot. Little annoying but faux is great at keeping his kernels and a ops up to date and fully functional.

it works fine. I can adjust it up and down with music playing and hear the adjustments. I don't care about next sticking between reboots, as I don't reboot multiple times a day
edit: verified. working fine
